This paper proposes a new filter topology that suppresses the high voltage gradient(dv/dt) in ac motor terminals. The high voltage gradient(dv/dt) causes over voltages on the motor windings, the degradation or motor insulation, and the bearing failure. Moreover surge voltage with high voltage gradient(dv/dt) in the PWM inverter red drive system where long line cables are required causes more serious problem to the motor. Thus, the most advisable method is attaching output filter to the inverter output terminals. The conventional output filters have several problems such as bulky size, difficulty or parameter tuning. The proposed filter can be relatively smaller than the conventional filters. By the proposed filter, the shaping or PWM waveform can considerably suppress high dv/dt in motor feeding cable from the inverter. The effectiveness or the proposed filter is compared with that or the conventional one and is verified by the computer simulation.
This paper presents two topologies for single-stage single-phase double-buck type PFC converters, designed to operate at high power factor, near sinusoidal input currents and adjustable output voltage. Unlike the known buck type PFC topologies, in which the output voltage is always lower than the maximum input voltage, the proposed converters can operate at output voltages higher than the ac input peak voltage. A reduced number of switches on the main path of the current are another characteristic of the two proposed topologies. To shape the input line currents, a fast and robust controller based on a sliding mode approach is proposed. This active non-linear control strategy, applied to these converters allows high quality input currents. A Proportional Integral (PI) controller is adopted to regulate the output voltage of the converters. This external voltage controller modulates the amplitude of the sinusoidal input current references. The performances of the presented rectifiers are verified with experimental results.
In this paper, the charge control with the input voltage feed forward is proposed for the input series-output parallel connected converter configuration for high voltage power conversion applications. This control scheme accomplishes the output current sharing for the output-parallel connected modules as well as the input voltage sharing for the input-series connected modules for all operating conditions including the transients. It also offers the robustness for the component value mismatches among the modules.

This paper presents design, fabrication, and performance evaluation of a high voltage power supply for Carbon Nano Tube-based planar light sources. The proposed power supply employs an LLC resonant half-bridge converter and a sixfold voltage-multiplying rectifier. Steady-state characteristics of the voltage-multiplying rectifier are analyzed and used to derive the input-to-output voltage conversion ratio of the power supply. The input-to-output frequency response characteristics of the LLC tank circuit are analyzed and utilized in designing a proto-type power supply which produces a 15 KV output using a 400 V input source. The high-voltage transformer is fabricated using a sectional bobbin structure with an epoxy impregnation, in order to provide sufficient insulation for high voltage operations. The performance of the proposed power supply is confirmed with stable and reliable operations at the 15 KV output from no load to nominal load conditions. The proposed power supply is well suited as an electric ballast required stable operations of Carbon Nano Tube-based planar light sources.

A high output power voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) in the U-band was implemented using a 65 nm CMOS process. The proposed VCO used a transmission line to increase output voltage swing and overcome the limitations of CMOS technologies. Two varactor banks were used for fine tuning with a 5% frequency tuning range. The proposed VCO showed small variation in output voltage and operated at 51.55-54.18 GHz. The measured phase noises were -51.53 dBc/Hz, -91.84 dBc/Hz, and -101.07 dBc/Hz at offset frequencies of 10 kHz, 1 MHz, and 10 MHz, respectively, with stable output power. The chip area, including the output buffer, is $0.16{\times}0.16mm^2$ and the maximum output power was -0.11 dBm. The power consumption was 33.4 mW with a supply voltage of 1.2-V. The measured $FOM_P$ was -190.8 dBc/Hz.

This paper presents a wide output range, high power efficiency reconfigurable charge pump for driving touch panels with the high resistances. The charge pump is composed of 4-stages and its configuration automatically changes based on the required output voltage level. In order to keep the power efficiency over the wide output voltage range, internal blocks are automatically activated or deactivated by the clock driver in the reconfigurable charge pump minimizing the switching power loss due to the On and Off operations of MOSFET. In addition, the leakage current paths in each mode are blocked to compensate for the variation of power efficiency with respect to the wide output voltage range. This chip is fabricated using $0.18{\mu}m$ BCD process with high power MOSFET options, and the die area is $1870{\mu}m{\times}1430{\mu}m$. The power consumption of the charge pump itself is 79.13 mW when the output power is 415.45 mW at the high voltage mode, while it is 20.097 mW when the output power is 89.903 mW at the low voltage mode. The measured maximum power efficiency is 84.01 %, when the output voltage is from 7.43 V to 12.23 V.

PV Power Conditioning System (PCS) must have high conversion and low cost. Generally, PV PCS uses either a single converter or multilevel module integrated converter (MIC). Each of these approaches has both advantage and disadvantage. For a high conversion efficiency and low cost of PV module, this paper proposes series connection of module integrated DC-DC converter's output with PV panel. Output voltage of PV panel is connected to the output capacitor of flyback converter. Thus, converter's output voltage is added to the output voltage of PV panel. Isolated DC-DC converter generates only the difference voltage between the PV panel voltage and the required total output voltage. This method reduces power level of DC-DC converter and enhances the energy conversion efficiency compared with conventional DC-DC converter.

A new high voltage DC power supply is proposed. The proposed power supply is constructed with several power converters connected in series. It is easy to obtain high DC voltage for the same structure of each power converter. The output DC power of the proposed power supply can be disconnected from the load within several hundred microseconds at the instant of a load short-circuit fault. The rising time of the output DC voltage is also as small as several hundred microseconds, and there is no overshoot of the voltage because all of the output filter capacitors keep undischarged state even in load short-circuit condition. Therefore, the proposed scheme is suitable for the protection of frequent output short-circuit and fast on/off switching of output DC voltage. The proposed power supply has improved features such as simple structure, high power factor, and reduced size and volume compared with the conventional schemes. The operating principle is described and the validity of the proposed scheme is proved through simulations and experiments.

In this paper, the charge control with the input voltage feedback is proposed for the input series-output series-output parallel connected converter configuration for the high speed train power system application. This control scheme accomplishes the output current sharing for the output-parallel connected modules as well as the input voltage sharing for the input series connected modules for all operating conditions including the transients. It also offers the robustness for the input voltage sharing control according to the component value mismatches among the modules. And this configuration enables the usage of MOSFET for a high voltage system allowing a higher switching frequency for lighter system weight and smaller size. The performance of the proposed scheme is verified through the experimental results.
High voltage power supply with pulse load($4.5{\mu}s$ and PRF 60Hz) condition is investigated which is of interest for applications like Klystron modulator power supplies with output voltage of 50kV. The performance specifications with this type of power supplies are very stringent demanding tight regulation(<0.01%) and high efficiency(> 85%). The solution to this problem as a single stage converter is very difficult. The final output voltage is obtained as sum of the output of SCPS & PCPS. The combination of the two stages can satisfy the pulse load specifications. The analysis of the voltage and power division between SCPS & PCPS has been done for the proposed topology. It has studied under various operating conditions of line and load. Simulation results are validated by experimental results.
