  • KEPCO has a plan to operate 765kV electric power network from June, 2001, by the KEPCO's plan. We have developed the extra-high voltage class equipments for 765kV substation. Inpecial, we have proceeded the developments of 800kV Gas Insulated Switchgear from January 1998 to now. Until now we completed the test of a general characteric tests of GIS, the short-circuit test of GCB. DS. ES. HSGS.

  • This paper examines the insulation performance of synthetic air and dry air. This examination was conducted based on dielectric strength in uniform and non-uniform field, electric field distribution by interior structure and defects in gas insulation switchgear (GIS) and insulation performance in different temperatures. From this review, it was found that eco-insulation gas required to possess low moisture content for power equipment in the distribution class. The results of this paper are valuable to ensure the insulation design and insulation reliability of GIS using air.

  • GIS(Gas insulated switchgear)내부에서 발생한 부분방전 신호를 검출 할 수 있는 UHF(Ultra-high frequency) 부분방전 검출 센서를 345 kV GIS의 AC 내전압 시험에 적용하였다. 부분방전 센서를 적용한 상태에서 각 상별로, bus별로 나누어 계통 최고전압의 1.0 p.u, 1.5 p.u, 1.73 p.u 전압을 단계적으로 인가하였으며 간헐적으로 부분방전 신호가 검출됨을 확인하였다. 간헐적인 부분방전 신호는 GIS 내부에 있던 이물질에서 약한 방전이 시작되고 인가전압을 높임에 따라 방전의 강도가 증가하다 소멸되었다. 방전을 일으킨 이물질이 모두 증발되었거나 위치 변화에 의해 방전이 소멸된 것으로 판단된다.

  • Recently, the concern of power qualiaty problem is increasing. Especially, Voltage quality problem have been increased important problem. Electronic device was affected by voltage sag. So, sensitive load that included many electronic Device was affected by voltage sag. also, it may have economic loss. In this paper, we argue the coordination scheme considering the loss of sensitive load. The coordination device of distribution system for instaneous fault is recloser and sectionalizer, But, the fault clearing time of recloser is more than 2 seconds. So, voltage sag generates long time that affected sensitive load. HS(high speed switchgear) has fast fault clearing time(0.015s) that not affected sensitive load. Therefore, the coordination applied HS is used. The proposed schemes are proved and evaluated by a case study using PSCAD/EMTDC simulation.

  • This paper describes a proposed very fast transient overvoltages(VFTO) measurement system suited for established gas insulated switchgear(GIS). The detecting system consists of a shield electrode connected to a buffer amplifier, and the transmission of the detected signal to an oscilloscope is made through an optical fiber. The bandwidth of the measurement system is 5 Hz to 30MHz. When determining the voltage dividing ratio by use of the commercial frequency voltage, the error is less than 0.5 %. Also, the data were obtained by the electric field probe and the high voltage probe, and their deviation for voltage dividing ratio were less than 1 %.

  • In this study, We developed the microprocessor based controller for Auto Section Switch(ASS). This is installed at consumer's medium-high voltage(load capacity is below 4,000 kVA) switchgear. This function is cooperate with protection device of fault section and automatically dividing the section. And It is designed by Air putter type extinction structure and adopt the mechanism and breaking part module of existing Load Breaker Switch. In addition, We successfully conducted the operation test and checked main function of proto-type.
