  • A design criterion of grounding systems is commonly based on low frequency resistance in Korea. When lightning surges which have high frequency components are injected into the grounding system, the grounding impedance is greatly different from the static grounding resistance. This paper presents the grounding adimittance and phase on the frequency range from 100 [Hz] to 15 [MHz] using water tank simulating the grounding system in different water resistivities. As a result, capacitive effect is dominant over the frequency of 100 [kHz] at the water resistivity of 1,000 [$\Omega$ m]. On the other hand, the inductive characteristics appear at the low water resistivity. Consequently, dependence of grounding impedances on the frequency of injected current is strongly related to resistivity.

  • We applied electrical resistivity survey using modified pole-pole array and small-loop electromagnetic survey to delineate the zone of seawater inflow through a tide embankment. The tide embankment is generally affected by tidal variation and has low resistivity characteristic due to the high saturation of seawater. For this reason, the electrical resistivity survey using modified pole-pole array, which is relatively more effective to the conductive media, was carried out to detect the inflow zone of seawater and small-loop electromagnetic survey using multi-frequency with 300 to 20,010 Hz was conducted. As a result of both electrical resistivity survey using modified pole-pole array and small -loop electromagnetic survey, these survey methods are found to be quite effective for investigation of seawater inflow zone in the sea dike.

  • Semiconducting Barium Titanate shows resistivity anomaly near the transition temperature 120.deg. C. Its transition temperature decreases about 6-7.deg. C per 1 mole % SnO$_{2}$, which is likely to compose (BaSb) (TiSn) $O_{3}$ structure by making Sn$^{+4}$ ions occupy Ti$^{+4}$ ion sites. Grain boundories, whose existance is the cause of having high resistivity in Semiconducting BaTiO$_{3}$ disappear due to the spontaneous polarization below the transition temperature, and it is believed that the phase transition makes semiconducting BaTiO$_{3}$ have resistivity anomaly at certain temperature. Temperature and frequency dependencies of resistivity are also investigated for practical application.ion.

  • As a function of the composition and content of frit, the electrical property of Ag and Ag/Pd thick film conductors were investigated with microstructure. With increasing sintering temperature in Ag-frit thick film conductors, electrical sheet resistivity decreased, but again increased above 80$0^{\circ}C$. And when frit contents is 5wt%, compact and homogenious microstructure can be obtained, then electrical sheet resistivity has minimum value. In Ag/Pd-frit film conductor, the electrical sheet resistivity decreased with increasing sintering temperature. The system which having frit with low softing point has lower sheet resistivity then to add high softening point frit.

  • Recently, CV, CN-CV and CNCV-W cable are used for HVDC transmission and distribution cable. However, XLPE which is used as insulation layer of power cable has thermosetting properties. It is very difficult to recycling. In this paper, we prepared HDPE/EVA film, which the blending ratio are 80:20, 70:30, 60:40, 50;50 respectively for the purpose of recycling. Main factor such as electric field distribution and its resistivity in insulation system affected on insulation performance and reliability for HVDC applications. Therefore, electric field distribution formed by space charge and characteristics of volume resistivity was currently investigated. We suggest the possibility of utilization for HVDC insulation layer from the results.

  • In this work, we have fabricated TiC films by using unbalanced magnetron sputtering method with graphite and Ti targets for contact strip application of electric railway. TiC films were deposited with various substrate temperatures. We investigated various properties of TiC films prepared with various substrate temperatures, such as the hardness, surface roughness, friction coefficient, resistivity, FESEM (Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy), HRTEM (High Resolution Transmission Electron Microscopy) and XPS (X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy). The hardness and friction coefficient properties of TiC films were improved with increasing substrate temperature. These results indicate that the improvement of hardness and resistivity is related to the increase of sp2 clusters in TiC films. And also, the resistivity value of TiC films were decreased with increasing substrate temperature.

  • It is well kown that the side-jump effect, originated from the spin-orbit scatterring of the transport electrons at the site of spin-orbit scatterers, is the reason for the anomalus Hall resistivity which is proportional to the magnetization. Our recent magnetization study implied that abundant ferromagnetic Fe clusters made of for Fe ions dominate the temperature and field dependence of magnetization at high field and low temperature regime for a paramagnetic $Fe_{0.33}Zr_{0.67}$ alloy. We measured the Hall resistivity of this alloy and observed that the Hall resistivity followed the M-H cure at low temperature, and the Hall coefficients at moderate temperatures were proportional to the magnetic susceptibility. We explain the behavior of Hall resistivity with the change of field and temperature in terms of side-jump effect.

  • We have synthesized Al-Co/AlN-Co multilayer films with different layer thicknesses by using a Two-Facing Target Type dc Sputtering (TFTS) system. The deposited films were annealed isothermally at different temperatures and their microstructure, magnetic properties and resistivity were investigated. The magnetization of the as-deposited films was found to be very small, irrespective of layer thickness. It was found that the annealing conditions and layer thickness ratio of Al-Co to AlN-Co (LTR) were able to control the microstructure, as well as the physical properties of the prepared films. The resistivity and magnetization increased and the coercivity decreased with a decreasing LTR. A high resistivity of 2500 ${\mu}{\Omega}-cm$, a magnetization of 360 $emu/cm^3$, and a coercivity of 5 Oe were obtained for the films with LTR=0.175.

  • In this studies resistivity thermal expansion and microstructure of the Forsterite Porcelain as a high frequency insulator were investigated. The body containing Zn-glass shows higher resistivity than any other body. The bodies containing K, Ba, Cd-glass respectively consist of fine crystals of mosaic type. The bodies containing Bi, Zn, Zr-glass repectively included more large crystals because of the grain growth and coherence of fine particles In the 4 series Forsterite containing excess MgO 0-6% the thermal coefficients of the bodies increased with the increasing of excess MgO and the bodies have conspicuously high thermal expansion coefficients when 15% excess $BaCO_3$ was added to. The resistivities of additive bodies of $BaCO_3$ 0, 5, 10% in Forsterite containg excess MgO 2% are higher than any other that of composition. Bacause the growing of Forsterite crystals was restrained with the increasing of excess MgO $BaCO_3$ their grain size became fine and their grain boundaries were decomposed and also the glass phase having high refractive inder was increased. The higher the firing temperature increased the more the process of crystal growing was progressed.

  • Recently, there has been a growing demand for soft magnetic materials with high conversion characteristics, due to the trend of electric devices to higher-frequency range. For ruduceing core loss in the high-frequency range, using finely grained and high-resistivity Fe-based alloy powder is most efficient methods. But, conventionally, there's been a compressibility problem for such powder. In this work, Fe-based alloy powder that offers both high resistivity and high compressibility was developed by studyuing composition of the powder, and reduction of core loss of P/M soft magnetic materials in the high frequency range was achieved.
