A buck-boost zero current switched(ZCS) series resonant AC to DC converter for the DC output voltage regulation together with high power factor is proposed. A dynamic model for this AC to DC converter is developed and an analysis for the internal operational characteristics is explored. With the proposed control technique, the unity power factor and the DC output voltage regulation without a current overshoot can be obtained.
The buck-boost converter is employed as the variable output PFC power stage. From the loss analysis, this topology has a high efficiency from light load to heavy load. A modified input current sensing scheme is presented to overcome the problem of the insufficient phase margin for the PFC circuit near the maximum output voltage. The variable output PFC circuit has a good performance in the wide output voltage range, under both the Boost mode when the output voltage is high and the Buck+Boost mode when the output voltage is low.
DC/DC 컨버터는 PWM-IC(펄스폭 변조 집적회로) 제어기, MOSFET(산화물-반도체 전계 효과 트랜지스터), 인덕터, 콘덴서 등으로 구성되어있다.

Due to the increasing amount of applications of power electronic ac-dc converters, it is necessary to design a single-stage converter that can reliably perform both buck and boost operations. Traditionally, this can be achieved by double-stage conversion (ac/dc-dc/dc) which ultimately leads to less efficiency and a more complex control system. This paper discusses two types of modern ac-dc converters. First, the novel impedance-source ac-dc converter, abbreviated as custom Z-source rectifier, is analyzed; and then, switched inductor (SL) Z-source ac-dc converter is proposed. This paper describes the Z-source rectifiers' operating principles, the concepts behind them, and their superiorities. Analysis and simulation results show that the proposed custom Z-source rectifier can step up and step down voltage; and the main advantage of the SL Z-source ac-dc converter is its high step-up capability. Low ripple of the output dc voltage is the other advantage of the proposed converters. Finally, the SL Z-source ac-dc converter is compared with the custom Z-source ac-dc converter.
Due to the enormous progress in light emitting diodes (LEDs), LEDs have been become a good solution for lightings. In LED driver for lighting applications, it is required a high input voltage to drive more LEDs. Therefore, a high-voltage should be changed to low-voltage to supply power for drive IC. In this paper, a LED drive IC with hysteretic-buck converter topology using a voltage clamp bias circuit was proposed and verified through simulations.
As the demand for high-rise buildings increases, the demand for high-speed elevators is also increasing. In order to make a high-speed elevator, a method is needed to reduce the weight of the elevator's components, which is a constraint on the increase in speed. As a measure to reduce the weight, it is possible to remove the traveling cable for power and signal supply. Since the weight of the traveling cable varies depending on the position of the carriage, it is difficult to compensate the weight using the counter weight. The power supply is a structure in which a brush-rail type power input terminal is installed in the elevator hoistway to receive power in a contact-type manner while the carriage is moving. If a small-capacity ESS is installed in a passenger car, power can be supplied uninterruptedly inside the passenger car. A small-capacity ESS charging system to be applied to such an elevator system is required to perform several functions. First, the passenger Car must be able to charge as much as possible even during high-speed operation. A control algorithm with high responsiveness is required because charging starts and ends repeatedly by the partially installed input power stage. In addition, if the input-side line impedance is large due to the structure of the system and the response characteristic is increased, the stability of the system may be lowered. Accordingly, in this paper, we propose a control algorithm that has a stable steady-state output while having a fast response in a transient state. To verify the proposed control algorithm, simulation was conducted using PSIM, and the performance of the controller was verified by manufacturing a prototype buck conveter charger.
A high ignition voltage is required for the metal halide (MHD) lamp. In this paper, the ballast ignited by internal LC resonance of buck converter with minimum size is proposed. For minimizing the ignition current for device safety, the characteristic impedance is maximized. But this results In a large steady state ripple, which may cause the accoustic resonance. The steady state ripple cancellation network using the coupled inductor is proposed.
