  • NCZF ferrites doped with B-Bi-Zn(35-25-40) glass ceramics were prepared to investigate the magnetic properties. The XRD peaks of all of samples were observed only spinel phase. As the additive increased at sintering temperature 750$^{\circ}C$ and 850$^{\circ}C$ for 3 hours, the density and shrinkage of the samples increased until 5.28 g/cm$^3$ and 20% respectively. And other samples showed constant trends having the density about 5.4g/cm$^3$. According to SEM images the growth of grain progressed rapidly at sintering temperature of 850$^{\circ}C$ for 3 hours. Increasing the additive initial permeability and complex permeability decreased. The high values of complex permeability as a function of frequency showed that NCZF doped with 3 wt%, 5wt%, samples at sintered temperature of 850$^{\circ}C$/3h and 900$^{\circ}C$/3h.

  • The porosity is often regarded as a linear function of fluid pressure in porous media and permeability is approximately looked as constants. However, for some scenarios such as unconsolidated sand beds, abnormal high pressured oil formation or large deformation of porous media for pore pressure dropped greatly, the change in porosity is not a linear function of fluid pressure in porous media, and permeability can't keep a constant yet. This paper mainly deals with the relationship between the damage variable and permeability properties of a deforming media, which can be considered as an exploratory attempt in this field.

  • This study presents the numerical analysis of natural convection of a micro- environments with air permeability in the clothing air-layer. As a numerical model the clothing air layer of shoulder and arm were adopted. Finite volume method for two-dimensional laminar flow was used for the analysis of flow and thermal characteristics of velocity, temperature and concentration in the air layer between body and clothing. As temperature boundary conditions, a body skin has a high temperature with $34^{\circ}C$ and the environmental temperatures are 5, 15 and $25^{\circ}C$ for various permeability coefficients. The distributions of concentration, temperature and velocity are shown that two large cells form at horizontal and vertical air layer, respectively. As the temperature difference between body skin and environment decreases, the heat transfer is decreased rapidly.

  • In this study, the qualitative characteristics of the permeability concrete by the changes in the grading of the recycled aggregates were analyzed and its results are as follows. First, the compressive strength represented the low range of strengths comparing with the typical concrete, and the high compressive strengths were represented as the aggregates with small grading of 2.5mm were used. The bending strengths did not satisfy the targeted range, and the permeability coefficient represented to be good when the aggregates with single grading greater than 5.0mm and the mixed aggregates of 5.0mm with 10.0mm.

  • In this paper, we have studied the effect of doped with B-Bi-Zn on properties (microstructure, density, shrinkage, permeability as a function of frequency, etc.) of hexagonal-ferrite for high frequency chip-inductor material about several GHz. The permeability were analyzed by impedance analyzer(100 kHz~40 MHz) and network analyzer(30 MHz~3 GHZ). As a result of the characteristics, the B-Bi-Zn glass ceramic was used to lower the sintering temperature for additive as a function of frequency from 100 kHz to 1.8 GHz showed constant tends. The maximum imaginary value of complex permeability was observed near the resonance frequency of 2 GHz.

  • Although rock itself has high strength or low permeability, engineering properties of rock masses are significantly influenced by discontinuities such as cracks and joints. Considered with possibility of groundwater flow in massive rock mass of deep subsurface, the connectivity of micro cracks should be analyzed as a conduit of ground-water flow. The objective of this study is to estimate permeability characteristics of granite dependent on damage process with application of joint distribution analysis and modeling of permeability analysis in rock masses. In case of average permeability coefficients, the modeling results based on micro cracks data are well matched with the results from permeability tests. Based on the visualization result of three dimensional model, the average permeability coefficients through the discharge plane have a positive relationship with the number of microcrack induced by rock damage.

  • This study aimed to determine the effects of relative humidity and fiber properties on the moisture permeability of multilayer systems by measuring water vapor transmission in the overlapping condition of various fabrics. The results confirmed that the property of the fabric in contact with the humid environment affects the moisture permeability. If the layer facing the humid environment is hydrophobic and the layer facing the dry environment is superhydrophobic, water vapor transmission increases by up to 17.8% compared to the opposite conditions. Comparing the correction values of the water vapor transmission reflecting the thickness of the specimen under the multilayer condition showed that permeability was higher when the hydrophilic or hydrophobic layer was facing the humid environment. The opposite was true from the "push-pull" effect of absorption mechanism. In the case of moisture permeability, the more hydrophilic the surface facing the humid environment, the more permeable that water vapor diffuses and passes through. It was concluded that the "pull-push" effect, in which water vapor diffuses widely through the hydrophilic facing a humid environment and then passes through the hydrophobic layer, contributes to the improvement of permeability. Permeability differed according to the multilayer overlapping condition. When the relative humidity was high, the "pull-push" effect was insignificant. This is caused by water droplets absorption after the partial migration of water due to condensation. These results suggest that the overlapping conditions and properties of fabrics should vary depending on heavy sweating or not.

  • In this study, polyethylene oxide (PEO)/polyethylene-co-vinyl acetate (EVA)/multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT)-COOH composite membranes were prepared by adding 1, 2, 3, and 5 wt% of MWCNT-COOH to PEO/EVA respectively. The gas permeation properties of $N_2$, $O_2$ and $CO_2$ at $30^{\circ}C$ and 4~8 bar pressure were investigated. In each PEO/EVA/MWCNT-COOH composite membranes, the permeability of $CO_2$ increased with increasing the pressure, but the permeability of $N_2$ and $O_2$ were independent of the feeding pressure. As the MWCNT-COOH content increased, the $CO_2$ permeability increased and then decreased above 2 wt% MWCNT-COOH content. The 2 wt% MWCNT-COOH composite membrane exhibited a $CO_2/N_2$ selectivity of 77.8 and a $CO_2$ permeability of 84 barrer at 8 bar. The high $CO_2/N_2$ selectivity and $CO_2$ permeability were due to the high affinity between the quadrupolar $CO_2$, polar ether groups of PEO, and the polar ester groups of EVA. Additionally, the strong affinity between $CO_2$ and the -COOH groups on the MWCNT surface contributed to the high permeability of $CO_2$.

  • In this paper, we propose a method of isolation improvement for broadband antennas using a high-permeability substrate. The substrate is applied for a planar monopole antenna based on near-field analysis to maintain radiation characteristics at its operating frequency while improving isolation by minimizing mutual coupling with nearby antennas at other frequency bands. To verify isolation improvement, we compare performance variations of $S_{21}$ according to the existence of the substrate using the proposed antenna and a reference antenna whose operating frequency is 2 GHz. As a result, the radiation characteristics are maintained, and $S_{21}$ performance is improved by more than 5~10 dB in the frequency band of greater than 2 GHz, which demonstrates the isolation can be improved by using the high-permeability substrate.

  • Sulfonated poly(ether ether ketone) (SPEEK) was blended with poly(ether sulfone) (PES) at various compositions. To investigate the possibility of using the blend membranes as polymer electrolyte membranes for direct methanol fuel cell, the blend membranes were characterized in terms of methanol permeability, proton conductivity, ion exchange capacity, and water content. Both proton conductivity and methanol permeability of SPEEK were relatively high. As the amount of PES increased, methanol permeability decreased more rapidly compared to proton conductivity. The experimental results indicated that the blend membrane with 40 wt% PES was the best choice in terms of the ratio of proton conductivity to methanol permeability.
