Dynamic Characteristics of the Vibration Isolation System for High Precision Processing Machinery (정밀가공장비용 면진시스템의 동특성)

  • The vibration isolation table system for the high precision Processing machinery has been developed. The system uses air spring as its isolation elements. An investigation of the model and the test results showed that the diaphragm has a role in the mathematical model. The vibration levels at various floors in the laboratory were investigated during operating the large shaking table for the selection of optimum installation location. The vibration test on the designed system showed good isolation performances.

Technologies to Realize High Stiffness Mechatronics Systems in Production Machines (기계장비의 메카트로닉스 고강성화 기술)

  • One of common challenges in designing modern production machines is realizing high speed motion without sacrificing accuracy. To address this challenge it is necessary to maximize the stiffness of the mechanical structure and the control system with consideration on the main disturbance input, cutting forces. This paper presents analysis technologies for realizing high stiffness in production machines. First, CAE analysis techniques to evaluate the dynamic stiffness of a machine structure and a new method to construct the physical machine model for servo controller simulations are demonstrated. Second, cutting forces generated in milling processes are analyzed to evaluate their effects on the mechatronics system. In the effort to investigate the interaction among the structure, controller, and process, a flexible multi-body dynamics simulation method is implemented on a magnetic bearing stage as an example. The presented technologies can provide better understandings on the mechatronics system and help realizing high stiffness production machines.

High Resolution Electrodes Fabrication for OTFT Array by using Microcontact Printing and Room Temperature Process

  • The flexible organic thin film transistor (OTFT) array to use as a switching device for an organic light emitting diode (OLED) was designed and fabricated in the microcontact printing and room temperature process. The gate, source, and drain electrode patterns of OTFT were fabricated by microcontact printing process. The OTFT array with dielectric layer and organic active semiconductor layer formed at room temperature or at a temperature lower than $40^{\circ}C$. The microcontact printing process using SAM and PDMS stamp made it possible to fabricate OTFT arrays with channel lengths down to even submicron size, and reduced the fabrication process by 10 steps compared with photolithography. Since the process was done in room temperature, there was no pattern shrinkage, transformation, and bending problem appeared. Also, it was possible to improve electric field mobility, to decrease contact resistance, to increase close packing of molecules by SAM, and to reduce threshold voltage by using a big dielectric.

  • Roll-to-roll process is an emerging mass production method for printed and flexible electronics such as touch screen panel, RFID tag, thin film solar cell, and flexible display due to its high throughput. High precision in printing and coating is required to apply functional materials onto substrate. For such reason, every part of the roll-to-roll equipment needs to be precisely fabricated and to retain its precision under regular operation. In this article, the precision of cantilever type idler roller and a novel method to mitigate its deflection under web tension loading are discussed and the method is verified using both the numerical and the experimental works. The proposed method improves the structural rigidity of cantilever type roller whose advantages, such as low capital cost and high web path configurability, are maintained.

  • We developed a compact high-precision slot-die coating machine for thin-film deposition on a flexible substrate. For smooth and precise coating, air-bearing and linear motor system were employed to minimize velocity ripple. The gap control mechanism is specially designed to have repeatability of gap between nozzle and substrate under 1 ${\mu}m$. Due to extremely precise gap control, the machine can coat thin-films down to 50 nm with $200mm{\times}100mm$ size. A thin film of Ag nano-particle ink is coated for demonstration.

  • These days, the interest of high speed robotic system is increasing because it is very important to get the cost-competitiveness. The parallel kinematic mechanism is more useful than the serial kinematic mechanism. For the reason, the researches on the parallel robot system as a high speed robotic one are have been done by many researchers. In this paper, the research on the design and analysis of the high speed parallel robot has been done by the authors. First, Basic robot structure is designed and modal analysis is studied to get the basic characteristics of the vibrational motion. Second, the harmonic analysis is studied to get the information of the natural frequency in some different designs of the outer-arm of the parallel robot. Finally, actual robot system is designed and implemented and it is confirmed that the analysis results coincide with the experimental results.

  • Sensor node means a device to include sensor, amplifier, and data acquisition (DAQ) equipment. The sensor converts physical signals to electric signals and weak signals from the sensor can be amplified through the amplifier. DAQ equipment converts analog signal to digital signal and collects converted digital signal. Since the sensor node is sensitive to the environment so that selection of mounting position and fixture design of sensor are applied differently depending on the characteristics of a target. This study is about designing and manufacturing sensor node to be used in a machine tool. The environment of machine tool is very severe due to noise, temperature fluctuation, and dust, etc. Hence, the sensor and amplifier must be designed and manufactured by considering the environmental issues. The designed and manufactured sensor node was tested for the reliability and effectiveness of the developed sensor nodes in the study.

  • Current electronic products are dominated by the laser processing and the application will be extended this time. Especially, demands for high precision laser processing with a large area has been increasing for a number of applications such as in solar cell battery, display parts, electronic component and automobile industry. In this paper we designed an on-the-fly system for ultrafast/high precision/large area laser processing. In addition, we have developed the path algorithm for large area. Expansion of the area in which laser processing is an important factor to handle the ultrafast/wide area processing, it will require a processing path. Processing path is path of 2- axis stage and stage of change in velocity can be smooth as possible. We proposed a path of the user concept using NURBS(Non-Uniform Rational B-Spline)method. Through our experiment with the chopper, was to prove the continuity of edge parts. Through basic shape experiments, we proved that large area can be processed using laser. We developed a simulation tool using Visual C++.

  • Picosecond (ps) laser micro-machining has emerged as an attractive method of fabricating high-precision microstructures, especially in metals. In this paper, a metallic mold for diffraction gratings is fabricated with a mode-locked 12 Ps $Nd:YVO_4$ laser. Laser pulses with a wavelength of 355nm are irradiated on the surface of NOK 80, a mold material, to generate line patterns. In order to minimize the line width, laser power is set just above the ablation threshold of NOK 80. Results show that the spectrum from the fabricated mold is good enough for some industrial application.

  • In the surrounding of the electric machinery and equipments occurring of using the electromagnetic fields, other electric machinery or equipments are induced the malfunctions by the radiated and leaked electromagnetic fields. And the human hazardous problems by that effect are being discussed frequently. So efficiently shielding technique of injurious electromagnetic field for high frequency welder is discussed in this paper.
