  • This paper presents an improved IS(Information System) project selection methodology through the ANP(Analytic Network Process) method within a Goal Programming model framework. This new methodology helps us to overcome the weaknesses according to the dependence for each element and the feedback effects in hierarchy level of the AHP and the GP models. A simple numerical example and limits of this methodology reviewed.

금연광고 효과에 관한 연구 -관여도와 지식의 상호관련성을 중심으로- (A Study of the Effectiveness of Anti-smoking Advertising : Based upon Interation of Involvement and Knowledge)

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effects of anti-smoking advertising on attitude toward anti-smoking and behavioral intention to quit smoking in terms of audience's involvement with anti-smoking and knowledge on smoking. For this, a total of 10 hypothesis were established and statistically tested. According to the results, all but hypothesis 1-1(attitude toward anti-smoking is more favorable in the high involvement condition than in the low involvement condition) were unfortunately rejected. These results can be justified by theoretical explanations such as Hierarchy Effects Model or Elaboration Likelihood Model. In addition, some methodological reasons were provided as well.

Multi-criteria Evaluation of Mobile Network Sharing Policies in Korea

  • Mobile operators in saturated markets increasingly favor mobile network sharing (MNS) over facility-based competition. Previous research examining MNS primarily focused on its positive effects, while the negative effects were largely overlooked. This study proposes a decision-making model using an analytic hierarchy process technique to evaluate decision-making criteria among various types of MNS policies. The decision-making model was applied to Wireless Broadband services in Korea to determine the relative importance of both positive and negative evaluation criteria and preference among multiple types of MNS policies. Positive evaluation criteria (that is, efficiency) were far greater in importance than negative evaluation criteria (that is, competition harm). The preference for adopting MNS among five alternative approaches was also revealed. The study findings offer immediate policy insights in Korea and provide a decision-making framework for policy makers in other countries to utilize.

Hydrodynamic control on site-structured phytoplankton blooms in a periodically mixed estuary

  • A Plankton ecosystem model was developed to investigate effects of hydrodynamic processes including advection and diffusion on size-structured phytoplankton dynamics in the mesohaline zone of the York River estuarine system, Virginia, USA. The model included 12 state variables representing the distribution of carbon and nutrients in the surface mixed layer. Groupings of autotrophs and heterotrophs were based on cell site and ecological hierarchy Forcing functions included incident radiation, temperature, wind stress, mean How and tide which includes advective transport and turbulent mixing. The ecosystem model was developed in FORTRAN using differential equations that were solved using the 4th order Runge-Kutta technique. The model showed that microphytoplankton blooms during winter-spring resulted from a combination of vertical advection and diffusion of phytoplankton cells rather than in-situ production in the lower York River estuary.

모바일 앱의 업데이트가 모바일 앱의 순위에 미치는 영향: 앱 스토어의 무료 앱을 대상으로 (Effects of Mobile App Updates on Mobile App Rankings: Free Apps in the App Store)

  • 스마트폰의 확산에는 모바일 애플리케이션(앱)이 중요한 역할을 하고 있다. 애플사의 통계에 따르면 2008년 모바일 앱 누적 다운로드 건수가 1억 건이었으며, 2009년 1년 만에 10억 건을 돌파하였고, 3년 후인 2012년에는 앱 누적 다운로드 수가 450억 건이 넘었다. 2014년 10월 현재 850억 건의 다운로드가 있었다. 이와 같이 급속히 증가하는 모바일 앱에 대한 관심으로 학계에서도 앱의 다운로드에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 밝히는 연구들이 최근에 많이 진행되었다. 본 연구는 기존 연구들에서는 분석하지 않은 모바일 앱의 업데이트가 모바일 앱의 순위에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 이를 위해 애플스토어에 등록된 앱들의 전체 순위, 카테고리 내 순위, 업데이트 내용, 리뷰의 수와 평점 등을 수집하였다. 업데이트 내용은 구매계층모형(buying hierarchy model)에 의해 기능성, 신뢰성, 편리성의 업데이트로 분류하고 각각의 업데이트가 앱의 순위에 미치는 효과를 평가했다. 분석결과, 전체 순위에는 기능성 업데이트가 정의 영향을 미치고, 카테고리 순위에는 신뢰성 업데이트가 정의 영향을 미치는 것을 발견하였다. 본 연구는 모바일 앱 다운로드에 관한 연구 중에서 업데이트 내용을 최초로 분석하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 또한, 본 연구는 모바일 앱 개발자가 상품개발전략에 업데이트의 내용을 중시하여야 한다는 실무적인 시사점도 제공하고 있다.

An Exploration of Advertising Avoidance by Audiences across Media

  • This paper compares the difference in the degree of advertising avoidance between traditional media and the Internet. The study also examines customers' beliefs, attitudes, and behavior toward advertising to build a theoretical model that explains advertising avoidance. A survey was conducted to identify the influential factors. Findings indicate that on comparison, YouTube advertisements on the Internet were more problematic than TV commercial breaks, leading to high advertising avoidance on the part of consumers. Finally, using path analysis, a general advertising avoidance model based on the belief-attitude-behavior hierarchy is tested. The model shows that certain beliefs about advertising have direct effects on advertising avoidance behavior as well as on the attitude toward advertising.

녹색기술 유망 R&D 과제 선정 방법론 : 개도국향 기술사업화를 중심으로 (R&D Project Selection Methodology for Green Technology : Focused on Developing Country-Oriented Technology Commercialization)

  • This paper proposes an R&D project selection methodology for green technology centered on developing country-oriented technology commercialization. Eight selection criteria are derived from the R&BD logic model : technology needs of developing countries, effectiveness of green technology, technological potentials, domestic technological capability, commercialization feasibility, economic benefits, business feasibility, and spillover effects of developing countries. 21 qualitative and quantitative indicators are then defined for each criterion. The analytic hierarchy process is conducted to produce relative importance of evaluation indicators and to set final priority scores of R&D project candidates. The working of the proposed methodology is provided with the help of a case study example of Green Technology Center. The proposed methodology is expected to be effectively utilized for policy practices of R&D project selection in the field of green technology.

Graded approach to determine the frequency and difficulty of safety culture attributes: The F-D matrix

  • The importance of safety culture has been emphasized to achieve a high level of safety. In this light, a systematic method to more properly deal with safety culture is necessary. Here, a decision-making tool that can apply a graded approach to the analysis of safety culture is proposed, called the F-D matrix, which determines the frequency and the difficulty of safety culture attributes recently defined by the IAEA. A hierarchical model of difficulty contributors was developed as a scoring standard, and its elements were weighted via expert evaluation using the analytic hierarchy process. The frequency of the attributes was derived by analyzing reported events from nuclear power plants in the Republic of Korea. Period-by-period comparisons with the F-D matrix can show trends in the change of the maturity level of an organization's safety culture and help to evaluate the effectiveness of previously implemented measures. In the evaluating the difficulty of the attributes in the recently developed harmonized safety culture model, the difficulties of Trending, Benchmarking, Resilience, and Documentation and Procedures were found to be relatively high, while the difficulties of Conflicts are Resolved, Ownership, Collaboration, and Respect is Evident were found to be relatively low. A case study was conducted with an analysis period of 10 years to attempt to reflect the many changes in safety culture that have been made following the Fukushima accident in March 2011. As a result of comparing two periods following the Fukushima accident, the overall frequency decreased by about 40%, providing evidence for the effects of the various improvements and measures taken following the increased emphasis on safety culture. The proposed F-D matrix provides a new analytical perspective and enables an in-depth analysis of safety culture.

군 의료기관의 조직문화 유형이 의료서비스 질과 고객만족에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Organizational Culture Types on Service Quality and Customer Satisfaction in the Military Hospital Organizations)

  • We conducted this research for the purpose of examining the effects of organizational culture on service quality and customer satisfaction in the military hospital organizations in Korea. The research samples were collected from employees in 12 military hospitals belonged to the Armed Forces Command. For the analysis we used SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 20.0 program for conducting reliability tests, confirmatory factor analysis, and structural equation model analysis in order to find the relationship between the variables analyzed. The result of this study shows that the military hospitals in Korea have strong relationship-oriented culture, but weak hierarchy-oriented culture. Among the three groups of military hospitals, innovation-oriented culture and relationship-oriented culture were the strongest in the executive agency hospital group, task-oriented culture was the strongest in the group of the he frontline hospitals and hierarchy-oriented culture was the strongest in the group of the rear area hospitals. It was found that the executive agency hospitals have the strongest service quality and customer satisfaction among the hospital groups analyzed. This research also found that relationship-oriented culture and innovation-oriented culture have a direct positive(+) effect on service quality; hierarchy oriented culture has a direct negative(-) effect on service quality; task oriented culture has a direct positive(+) effect on customer satisfaction, and service quality mediated between organizational culture and customer satisfaction. The findings from this study suggests that implementing the dynamic strategies for organizational culture with focus on service qualities is needed given that customer satisfaction in the military hospitals is highly affected by service quality.

  • The Customer Satisfaction which effects directly the performance of almost all companies. Therefore, it is very important for a company to reflect totally market environment which can be changed fast and diversely by customer requirements. In spite of many studies on the marketing decision, it has been rarely applied for the quantitative method and result of Customer Satisfaction Index Assessment in the marketing decision process. This study used ANP(Analytic Network Process) approach permitting the interdependent relationship between hierarchy and decision factors in the decision process. Moreover, we propose the method which represents efficiently the Customer Satisfaction Index so that the Suggested Model in this study becomes Customer-Oriented.
