Insomnia is one of the highest frequency neuropsychosis of neuropsychiatry patients and is primarily caused by major depressive disorder. This case study is about a remedy for a 33 year-old woman who has insomnia and intense depressed mood caused by the continuous family jar. Also, she had the feeling of squeezing her body, pouring cold water into her body, anorexia and feeling cold and hot turn and turn. I operated mindfullness with accupuncture, herb-medication and aroma theraphy. Especially, mindfullness and Gagamguibi-tang were effective for relaxation and the sound sleep in quality and quantity. According to this study, the traditional oriental medical remedy such as accupuncture, herb-medication is effective for the cure of insomnia and mindfullness fortifies the oriental medical remedy.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to report the effect of oriental treatments for parkinsonism after puerperal period. Methods: We treated one 29-years-old female who had parkinsonism (dysarthria, gait disturbance, dizziness, tremor, rigidity, blurring of vision) after puerperal period with herb medication ( Chengsimondamtang -淸心溫膽湯, etc). Results: After oriental medical treatment, the clinical symptom of parkinsonism after puerperal period was improved. Conclusion: This case study shows that the oriental medical therapy is effective in treating parkinsonism after puerperal period. So that, it is helpful in decreasing the symptoms of patients and in improving quality of life.

Objectives : This study was performed to report the effect of Korean traditional treatments for Hwa-Byung with menopausal symptoms. Methods : In this case, a 48 years old female patient has been suffered by Hwa-Byung with menopausal symptoms for 3 years old. We treated the patient with Korean traditional treatments (acupuncture, herb-medication and aroma theraphy), mindfulness and Korean traditional psychotherapy. The effects of treatment were measured by Beck Depression Inventory(BDI), Zung Depression Rating Scale(SDS), Kupperman Index(KI), Menopause Rating Scale(MRS). Results : After treatment, the chief complaints and accompanying symptoms were subsided and improved. And BDI, SDS, KI and MRS score were decreased. Conclusions : According to this study, the Korean traditional treatment such as acupuncture, herb-medication is effective for the cure of Hwa-Byung with menopausal symptoms.

Cavernous hemangiomas, one of common hemangiomas, are collections of dilated vessels deep in the dermis and subcutaneous tissue that are present at birth. Clinically they appear as pale, skin-colored, red, or blue masses that are ill defined and rounded. Like strawberry hemangiomas, the lesions enlarge for several months, become stationary for an indefinite period, and undergo spontaneous resolution. Usually, they are managed like strawberry hemangiomas, for example, compression, take corticosteroids or interferon and use lasers(pulsed dye lasers and argon lasers). It is similar to 血瘤 and 紅絲瘤 in Oriental Medicine. We observed and treated a 8 month old male infant who had been diagnosed with cavernous hemangiomas on near medial side of the right transverse cubital crease. He had been treated by lasers three times each month about 2 months after the on set of disease in another College of Medicine Hospital. However, his sign didn't any change. He first visited our clinic about 7 months after the on set of disease. bout 1 year after our treatment, herb-medication and acupuncture treatment, the volume of hemangiomas was decreased remarkably and the colour was lighter. It was tender to the touch more and more. It is very rate that someone has cavernous hemangiomas and visits Oriental Medicine Hospital. Also we don't have much the treatment experience of this disease. I expect this case will be one of the base of treatment and management on this kind of diseases.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to report a case of iron deficiency anemia in a child with repetitive bleeding in the upper gastrointestinal tract caused by Helicobacter pylori infection, and summarize review of a western literature. Methods A 13-year-old patient, who were suffering from iron deficiency anemia from repetitive bleeding in the upper gastrointestinal tract, was administered by Ikwiseungyang-tang gamibang (益胃升陽湯加味方) and Samchulgeonbitang (蔘出健脾湯). After several tests, we realized that an iron deficiency anemia was related to Helicobacter pylori. Results By herb medication, the patient's symptoms were alleviated. Conclusions Helicobacter pylori infection is one of the reasons of refractory iron-deficiency anemia which is unresponsiveness to oral iron therapy. We report the findings of herb medication along with summarization of a western literature.

Objective : The purpose of this paper is to report the improvement of patient with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome(CFS) treated by herb medication based on Shanghanlun disease pattern identification diagnostic system. Methods : According to 'Disease Pattern Identification Diagnostic System based on Shanghanlun Provisions', the patient was diagnosed with Eumyangyeokchahunobok-byung, number 393 provision, and took Jisilchija-tang herb medication for 75days. The changing symptom of chronic fatigue syndrome was estimated by QOL-CFS(Chalder Fatigue Scale) and VAS(Visual Analogue Scale). Results : The QOL-CFS changed 21 to 8 and VAS changed 10 to 1. Conclusions : It is existing theory that Eumyangyeokchahunobok-byung is caused by 'having too much sex relation'. But the author diagnosed Eumyangyeokchahunobok-byung as 'Symptoms worsen when awaken at night, and sleep at day caused by poor sleep pattern' according to the palaeography about shanghanlun, and got a good results.

Methods : In this case, a 41 years old female patient has been suffered by Hwa-Byung symptoms for 20 years. We treated the patient with Korean traditional treatments(acupuncture, herb-medication and aroma theraphy), Autogen training and Korean traditional psychotherapy. The effects of treatment were measured by Beck Depression Inventory(BDI), Zung Depression Rating Scale(SDS), State-Trait Anxiety Inventory(STAI-X-1), SCL-90-R. Results : After treatment, the chief complaints and accompanying symptoms were subsided and improved. And BDI, SDS, STAI-X-1 score were decreased. Conclusions : According to this study, the Korean traditional treatment such as acupuncture, herb-medication and Autogen training are effective for the cure of Hwa-Byung.

Objectives : Every year tens of treatises have been published on the journal of oriental gynecology. But until now there were no papers on the analysis of those treatises and no efforts to evaluate them. Method : To analyze the treatises of journal of oriental gynecology, we examined 19 journals published from 1987 to 2001. There were no rules to analyze treatises, we followed the way of Seo, classifying treatises into bibliographic, experimental and clinical categories. Results and conclusions : 1. Until 1994 most of treatises were bibliographic but from 1995 experimental treatises were increased. 2. Many(29.5%) of them were studied about the diseases in pregnancy, Many(25.4%) of experimental treatises were reserched about the diseases on leukorrhea. 3. In the clinical treatises most of them were case reports. 4. In the bibliographic treatises 90% of them were studied about the classic contents categories. 5. In the clinical treatises the way of treatment showed about same percentage between single herb medication and acupuncture-herb medication complex.

Purpose : The purpose of this study is to report the effect of oriental treatments for Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Methods : We treated a 57 - year - old female who had severe abdominal pain and discomfort companied by alteration in bowel function, a combination of diarrhea and constipation, with Herb medication ( Daechilgitang-gagambang )and acupuncture therapy at the same time. Results : After oriental medical treatment, the clinical symptom of Irritable Bowel Syndrome was improved. Conclusion : This case study shows that the oriental medical therapy is effective in treating irritable bowel syndrome. So that, it is helpful in decreasing the symptoms of patients and in improving quality of life.

Purpose: To report the effect of Traditional Korean medical treatments on 5 patients with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia with high-risk human papilloma virus (HPV). Methods: The patients were diagnosed with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia with High-Risk human papilloma virus. The patients were treated by Traditional Korean Medicine such as herb medication and fumigation therapy. Results: After 3~6 months treatments, cervical intraepithelial neoplasia grades 1-2 lesions regressed and high-risk HPV infections were not detected. Conclusions: The case report shows that Korean medical treatment can be an effective option for treating lower grade of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia with high-risk human papilloma virus.
