  • Objective : This study was designed to assess effects of He-Ne laser irradiation on high-level of Total Cholesterol and Triglyceride. Methods : The 76 patients who have been checked Total Cholesterol and Triglyceride high were divided into a study group of patient who were irradiated and into a control group of patients who did not receive irradiation.. Then, patients rechecked Total Cholesterol and Triglyceride after 1 month later. Results : In patients of study group, The level of Total Cholesterol and Triglyceride was decreased. But In comparison with control group, there was no significant effect of decrement of Total Cholesterol and Triglyceride. Conclusions : These results suggest that He-Ne laser irradiation may have no significant decrement effects on high-level of Total Cholesterol and Triglyceride.

The Effects of the Low Power Wavelengths of Helium-Neon Infra-Red Laser on the Changes of the Serum Mineral Components in Burn Rats (저 에너지 레이저 파장이 화상쥐 혈청 무기질 성분 변화에 미치는 영향)

  • This studies were to investigate the effects of low power wavelengths Helium-Neon Infra-Red(He-Ne 1R) laser on the changes of the serum mineral components in burn rats. The thirty Spraque-Dawley adult male rats were assigned to the 5 groups: the experimental groups(3), the bum control group (1) and the control group(1). There was made three degree bum by the 250mW IR on the back of each rats. from 3 days after being burned. the experimental laser groups were irradiated low power wavelengths(292 Hz. 1168Hz, 4672Hz) He-He IR laser far 5 minutes every day during the 7 days. The results were as tallows: 1. There were significantly not changes of the levels of serum sodium between all experimental groups. 2. The concentration of potassium in serum on the treated with 292Hz wavelengths group during 5 minutes were significantly increased ,but with 1168Hz wavelenghths group were decreased to the those of burn group. 3. The concentrations of serum calcium in serum 1168Hz wavelengths laser group on the treated with 5 minutes laser were significantly higher to normal level than those of bum groups. As above results. the changes of the 2 essentials mineral(calcium and potassium) in serum levels on the healing process have meaningful effected with the low power wavelengths role on the treated with He-Ne IR laser.

  • This study was performed to investigate the effects of low-power Helium Neon Infra Red(He-Ne IR)laser irradiation and exercise on the regeneration of experimentally cut sciatic nerve in rats. The thrity Sprague-Dawley adult mail rats were assigned to the 6 groups : normal group(1), injured control groups(2), experimental groups(3). There was made artificial injured in the sciatic nerve of rats the each experimental laser group and exercise group were treated from 3 days after being injured for the 5 minutes(laser group), 10 minutes(exercise group), and 15 minutes(exercise and laser group) everyday during 2 weeks. There were measured the changes of amplitude of compound muscle action potential and histological change by the light microscopy on the sciatic nerve injured rats. The results obtained as follows : 1. In the control groups, the regeneration were slowly and slightlly progressed to compared with the experimental groups. Inflammation were much more observed, and fibrous adhesion was also observed around the sutured region of the cut sciatic nerve. 2. The amplitude of compound muscle action potential in the experimental groups were significantly increased to the injured control groups at 1 week(p<.05). The compound muscle action potential of the exercise and lased group was significantly decreased to be similar to normal group at 2 weeks(p<.05). 3. In histologic finding, in the experimental groups were observed the proliferation of the schwann cells, the infiltration of inflammatory cells and the extent of destruction at adjacent tissue were remarkably decreased on the 2 weeks. From these experimental results, it may be suggested that the laser and exercise were effected the heeling process of peripheral nerve injuried rats.

There were significantly decreased the change of the level of immunoglobulin M(Ig M) in serum of all experimental groups on the treated with 5 minutes laser fer 7 days to the burn control group. and were significantly increased on treated with more higher wavelengths groups to those of lower groups. 3. The concentrations immunoglobulin E(Ig E) in serum of the 292Hz wavelengths groups were significantly lower than those in bum control group. As above results. the changes of the immunoglobulin in serum levels on the healing process have meaningful effected with the low power wavelengths role on the treated with He-Ne IR laser.

  • The purpose of this study were to determined the effect of laser irradiation on the fibroblast activity. Cultures of 3T3 fibroblasts were subjected to Helium Neon laser(632.8 nm) irradiation of various energy density. On one, two and three consecutive days the fibroblast monolayers wert irradiated for period from 0 to 32 minutes with 8 mW of average output power. The fibroblast activity was determined by the quantitative assay of MTT, SRB and NR after incubation of the fibroblasts for 24 hours. Results show that exposure duration from 2 min to 32 min could increase MTT at three consecutive days, whereas control and 1 min, one and two days irradiation had were not inclosed. The SRB and NR were inclosed at two and three consecutive days from 2 min to 32 min, whereas control and 1 min, and once radiation were not increased. These result demonstrate that energy density from 0.48 to 7.64 J/cm could increase cellular protein contents and fibroblast activity at more than twice irradiation of laser, whereas low energy density (less than 0.24 J/m) and once irradiation of laser had no effect. The results suggest that the beneficial effect of the He-Ne laser with adequate dose on fibroblast activity in vitro.

  • The purpose of this study were to 1) determine the analgesic effect of 632.8 nm of helium-neon (He-Ne) laser stimulation on acupuncture point in rat and 2) determine the reversal of analgesic effect by naloxone injection. Eighteen Sprague-Dawley rats were devided into three groups : control (n=6) : laser (n=6), laser stimulation at $3.58\;J/cm^2$ ; and naloxone (n=6), 1 mg/kg of naloxone chloride inject into peritoneum before laser stimulation at $3.63J/cm^2$. Tail-flick latency were measured pretreat and posttreat with hot plate $(55^{\circ}C)$. Data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA and paired t-teat for tail-flick latency. No significant change was noted in the tail-flick latency in either control or naloxone groups. But significant increased in tail-flick latency in taller group. The results suggest that He-Ne laser induced analgesic effect, and endogenous opioids may be involved in He-Ne laser induced analgesia.

  • Currently, As Plasma application is expanded to the industrial and medical industrial, Low temperature plasma characteristics became important. Especially in Medical industrial, Low temperature plasma directly adapted to human skin, so their plasma parameter is important. One of the plasma parameters is electron density, some kinds of method to measuring electron density are Thomson scattering spectroscopy and Millimeter-wave transmission measurement. But most methods is expensive to composed of experiment system. Heterodyne interferometer system is cheap and simple to setting up, So we tried to measuring electron density by Laser heterodyne interferometer. To measuring electron density at atmospheric pressure, we need to obtain the phase shift signal. And we use a heterodyne interferometer. Our guiding laser is Helium-Neon laser which generated 632 nm laser. We set up to chopper which can make a laser signal like a pulse. Chopper can make a 4 kHz chopping. We used Needle jet as Ne plasma sources. Interference pattern is changed by refractive index of electron density. As this refractive index change, phase shift was occurred. Electron density is changed from Townsend discharge's electron bombardment, so we observed phenomena and calculated phase shift. Finally, we measured electron density by refractive index and electron density relationship. The calculated electron density value is approximately 1015~1016 cm-3. And we studied electron density value with voltage.

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of laser Irradiation on Human plasma $\beta-endorphin$ levels, by treating with low level helium-neon (He-Ne) and Infrared(lR) laser. The Laser was fixed frequency of 2400Hz by continuous scanning and irradiating time was 8 minutes each point. Blood samples were taken at before, after, after 15min's treatment and Plasma $\beta-endorphin$ was measured by radioimmunoassay. The samples for this study were 6 normal subjects(3male, 3female). The data were analyzed by paired t-test, one-way ANOVA and simple regression. The results of this study were as follows : 1. The human plasma $\beta-endorphin$ levels were noted as significant increase in after-treatment $(22.84{\pm}10.63pg/ml)$ as compared with before-treatment $(16.96{\pm}9.23pg/ml)$ and significant increase in after 15min's $(27.27{\pm}8.81pg/ml)$ as compared with after-treatment (p<0.05). 2. There were no significant changes in plasma g-endorphin levels between male and female. 3. The human plasma $\beta-endorphin$ levels were high associated in between session reliability (p<0.05).

Effects of the low power He-Ne IR laser on the healing of the peripheral neuropathy in diabetic rats (저에너지 He-Ne IR laser가 당뇨쥐 말초 신경병증 치유에 미치는 영향)

  • This studies were to investigate the effects of low power Helium-Neon Infra-Red (He-Ne IR) laser on the healing of the peripheral neuropathy in diabetic rats. The twenty one Spraque-Dewley adult male rats were assigned to the 3 groups: the control group (7), the diabetic group (7) and the laser group (7). The diabetic group was induced with a single intravenous injection of 50mg/kg body weight streptozotocin dissolved to 0.01mol/L citrate buffer, pH 4.5. The experimental laser group was irradiated low power He-Ne IR laser for 5 minutes every day during 21 days to the diabetic group. The results were as follows: For on and two weeks with laser treatment, there were significantly increased the terminal latencies of the laser treatment group than those of diabetic group, but that was significantly decreased to be similar to the control group on the laser treatment group for three weeks. The change of the amplitude on the laser treatment groups for three weeks was significantly increased to be similar to normal group than that of the diabetic group. As the result, we thank that there were activately effected of lower power He-Ne IR laser on the heeling of the peripheral neurophathy in diabetic rats.

The results were as follows: The concentrations of immunoglobulin G(Ig G) in serum of burn rats on the treated with during the 3minutes laser for 7 days were higher than those of burn and 4.5 minutes laser groups. There were significantly decreased the change of the level of immunoglobulin M(Ig M) in serum of burn rats on the treated with 3 minutes laser for 7 days to the control group, but were significantly increased on the 3minutes and 4.5 minutes laser groups for 21 days to the those of burn and control groups, and the levels of the Ig M on the 3minutes laser group for 21 days were higher than those of 7 days. The concentrations of immunoglobulin E(Ig E) in serun of the burn rats on the experimental and burn groups were significantly lower than those in control group. As above results, The changes of the level of immonoglobulin components in serum have meaningful role in the healing process on the treated with the low pewer intensity of HE-Ne IR laser.
