  • A 1MW class HTS(High-Temperature Superconducting) synchronous motor has been developed. This motor is aimed to be utilized for industrial application such as large motors operating in large plants. The HTS field coil of the developed motor is cooled by way of Neon thermosiphon mechanism and the stator coil is cooled by water through hollow copper conductor. This paper describes performance test results of our motor, which was conducted at steady state in generator mode and motor mode.

  • This paper presents recent trends on the on-line monitoring and diagnostic systems for oil-immersed transformers. Specially, our system on YeoSu thermal power plant is introduced for high sensitivity and accuracy of ours. It is combined with communication networks to provide an on-line remote monitoring system. Several alarm criteria are formulated to enable a superimposed monitoring system to perform decisive action. The reasons for monitoring the condition and maintaining the health of electrical apparatus were discussed. The experience at the fields and the criteria for the judgment are also discussed in detail.

  • In this paper, the insulation system of induction motor for subway traction was designed. In order to design the insulation system of induction motor, various types of insulation system were compared, at first, and test method was investigated in order to verify the designed insulation system. The designed insulation system was satisfied economically, technically by experimental test.

  • This paper presents the transient impedance behaviors of grounding systems to lightning impulse current. The potential rise and effective impulse ground impedance of the test grounding electrodes were measured as a function of the rise time of impulse currents and lengths of down conductor. The transient ground impedances strongly depend on the configuration and size of grounding electrodes, the impulse current shapes and lengths of down conductor, and the inductance of reduce of grounding electrode inductance is an important factor to improve the transient ground impedance.

  • High Pressure Annealing System was developed to improve the characteristics of low-temperature poly-silicon thin film transistors.. (TFTs). The high-pressure steam annealing was applied to the poly-silicon film made by rapid thermal annealing method. The carrier lifetime was investigated by Microwave detection of the Photo-Conductive Decay and the increase of carrier lifetime which indicates the reduction of the defect was observed by high-pressure steam annealing of 1MPa 600C 1hour.
