Isostric heats of adsorption of amines on paraffin and polyethyleneglycol were measured by gas chromatography. Value with polyethyleneglycol were significantly higher than those with paraffin due to the N-H...O bonding. The contribution of C-H...O bonding to the isosoteric heats of adsorption was negligible. The additional heats of adsorption observed as the sample size increased also increased as the number of amino hydrogen atoms decreased. This tendency was more significant with polyethyleneglycol indicating that strong directing force of amino hydrogen of primary and secondary amines to the surface hinder lateral attractive interaction which could be favored with free orientation.
The purpose of this study was carried out in five rabbits of 3kg to investigate the change of superficial and deep heats in ultrasound application by coupling media. Temperature measured with thermistor needle at skin. subcutaneous, muscle in before coupling media application, after coupling media application. 2minutes. 5minutes, 7minutes, 10minutes. Coupling media was used gel, glycerin, distilled water. The data was analyzed using spss/pc+and t-test The results were as fallow : 1. With skin. gel was significant temperature change in 2minutes(p<.05). glycerin was significant temperature change in 2minutes(p<.05), 5minutes(p<.05), 7minutes(p<.01), 10minutes(p<.01). distilled water was significant temperature change in post coupling media(p<.05), 2minutes(p<.01). 5minutes(p<.05). 7minutes(p<.01). 10minutes(p<.01). With subcutaneous. gel was no temperature change. glycerin was significant temperature change in 2minutes(p<.05), 5minutes(p<.05), 10minutes(p<.01). distilled water was no temperature change. With muscle. gel was no temperature change. glycerin was significant temperature change in 2minutes(p<.05). 5minutes(p<.05). 7minutes(p<.05). 10minutes( p<.05). distilled water was significant temperature change in 10minutes(p<.05). 2. Superficial heats of skin and subcutaneous was higher temperature change than Deep heats of muscle. 3. Gel. glycerin. distilled Water required minimum treatment 10minutes fur thermal effect. 4. Gel was low temperature change superficial and deep heats. and glycerin was high temperature change superficial and deep heats. This results show that gel is high transmissiveness in the coupling media and glycerin is low transmissiveness in the coupling media.
Purpose: This study was designed to help preparing the evidence-based data for the manual of heat applications by finding the differences of superficial and core temperatures after applying dry and moist heats on shoulder and thigh. Methods: Moist and dry heats were alternately applied on the 33 subjects a day apart from May 15, 2010 through June 9, 2010. The experiment was conducted with $23^{\circ}C$ to $25^{\circ}C$ room temperature and 50% to 66% of moisture from 2 to 6 p.m. After heat was applied on the shoulder of the subjects wearing shorts and gowns for 30 minutes, their superficial and core temperatures were measured. The same method was used on the thigh after two hours. Results: Both superficial and core temperatures on the shoulder and thigh increased significantly after heat therapy. There was no significant difference between the temperatures before and after intervention according to applying methods and regions. Conclusion: This study provides a theoretical basis that a dry heat is a convenient nursing intervention for hypothermic patients.
The rats of thermal ageing at elevated temperatures and heats of activation of aluminum hydroxide gel have been determined. The ageing was expressed in terms of diminution of acid consuming capacity. Although the actual rates of ageing were different by the samples, the slopes of their Arrhenius plots were the same. This may indicate similarity of ageing mechanisms and heats of activation of samples. The heat of activation was the mangitude of 30 Kcal/mole. Thus, rates of ageing of aluminum hydroxide gel may be greatly accelerated at elevated temperatures.

The temperature change in the biologically activated sludge wastewater treatment process was predicted using the heat transfer model. All incoming and outgoing heats in wastewater treatment processes were considered. Incoming heats included the solar radiation heat, the heat from impeller mechanical energy, and the biochemical heat in the aeration process. Outgoing heats comprised the radiation heat from the waste itself, the heat of vaporization and surface aeration, the wind convection heat and the conduction heat between the surface and aerator. All heats were used as an input to the existing empirical heat transfer model. The heat transfer model of wastewater treatment processes is presented also. To test the validity of the heat transfer model, the operating conditions of the actual wastewater treatment plant were used. The temperatures were compared with the model temperatures. Model predictions were consistent within the $1.0^{\circ}C$.
Heats of moisture adsorption of the sunflower nutmeat products (ground nutmeat, meal, protein concentrate and protein isolate) were determined from their isosteres at temperatures 10, 20 and $30^{\circ}C$. The changes in the heat of adsorption with moisture level were analyzed by Hunter equation. The Hunter equation was valid for representing the relationship between the heat of adsorption and the moisture content for the sunflower nutmeat products, and the accuracy-of-fit increased as protein content of the materials increased. The heat of adsorption decreased as moisture content increased, but increased as protein content increased. The heats of adsorption were 11.8-10.6 kcal/mole for the ground nutmeat at 4-12% moisture (d.b.) and 12.4-11.0 kcal/mole for the protein isolate at 6-20% moisture (d.b.).

This study practically investigated the effects of the newly developed isolation-heat paints applied into the buildings and the roads in Japan. After 1970 since the gravitation of population toward the cities has got more deeply involved due to the development of industries, the increased paved roads and the heats come out from the industrial chimneys cause the heat island effect. The dark colored paints on the roads and the stagnations of air blocked by large buildings turned out to be also the main reasons for the heat island effect. Therefore, in order to cool down the heats accumulated in buildings and roads, the developed isolation-heat paints applied into several different regions and the decreased temperatures and heats were accurately measured and reported.

Plume radiation has been measured during ground tests of KSLV-I kick motor in order to predict the thermal load on the equipment around the kick motor at flight. The measuring positions are the kick motor base, and the measured heats were about 2${\sim}$5 w/cm$^2$. The measured heat showed a lot of shot fluctuation in their values, and the radiative heats at the latter half of time are higher than those of the first half. A plausible explanation for these phenomena was given as the variation of alumina particles with time. The radiative heats along the plume axis were also measured recently at 8 positions with 1.5m radius from plume axis, but only the initial parts of the results could be acceptable because the sensor were damaged by the accumulated heat. The strongest heat occurred at the middle of the plume, which can be explained with different view factors. Despite of the plausible explanation, it seems to need more analysis because the plume structure such as temperature, alumina particle, after burning has not been revealed until yet. The measure heat flux has been reflected in the prediction of the plume radiation at high altitude where the kick motor operates.
The heat of combustion is one of the major physical properties used to determine the fire and explosion hazards of the flammable substances. Empirical equations have been developed to pre-dict the net heats of combustion of organic halogenated compounds based on the atomic contribution method. The method developed in this study was compared with Cardozo's method and Hanley's method. As can be seen from the average absolute deviation(A.A.D.), the proposed equation was found to be best. The proposed equation may serve as an estimation scheme for the heats of combustion of the other organic halogenated compounds.
The isotherms of CO adsorption on the Cu/ZnO sample treated with with hydrogen and methanol are investigated. The heats of adsorption of CO on the Cu/ZnO treated with hydrogen at 723K for 3 h are in the range from 25.7 kJ/mol at $\theta=0.8$ to 59.8 at $\theta=0.1$, while those on the Cu/ZnO sample treated with methanol at 523 K for 3 h are in the range 30.3 kJ/mol at $\theta=0.8$ to 99.8kJ/mol at $\theta=0.1.$ The Cu/ZnO samples treated with hydrogen do. The heats of adsorption at q=0.1 increase with the methanol treatment time within 30 min and leveled off afterwards.
