In this paper, the numerical analysis for heat conduction of silica/phenolic composite material, which is used for solid rocket nozzle liner or insulator, was conducted. 1-D Finite Difference Method for the analysis of silica/phenolic during the firing of solid rocket motor was used to calculate the heat conduction considering the surface ablation and the thermal decomposition. The boundary condition at the nozzle wall took into account the convective heat transfer, which was obtained by integration equation. The numerical results of the surface ablation and char depth were compared with the results of test motor that is TPEM-10. It was found that the result of calculation is favorably agreed with the thermal response of test motor.

Recently, as the semiconductor integration technology due to miniaturization and high density of electronic equipment have developed, it is importantly recognized the application of thermal control system in order to release inner heat generated from chips, modules, In this study, we considered the heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics in a horizontal channel with four blocks using k-${\omega}$ SST turbulence model During CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analysis, the parameters applied block width, block height, heat source and turbulence generator placement etc. As the boundary conditions of analysis, the channel inlet temperature and flow velocity were respectively 300 K and 3.84 m/s, the heat flux was $358W/m^2$. As a result, the heat transfer performance was decreased as the block width ratio (w/h) was increased, while it was increased as the block height ratio (h/w) was increased. In addition, as the arrangement of heat source size was increased to high heat flux from low heat flux, it was influenced by heat source size and the heat transfer coefficient showed a tendency to increase, When the turbulence generator was installed in the upper part of block No. 1 position the closely to the channel entrance, the heat transfer characteristics was greatly influenced on the whole of four heating blocks. and in oder to consider the pressure drop characteristics, we are able to select the most appropriate turbulence generator's position.
The paper reviews the state of art in the design of liquefaction processes for the production of liquified natural gas, and addresses key design aspects to be considered in the design and how these design issues are systematically reflected in industrial applications. Various design options to improve energy efficiency of refrigeration cycles are discussed, including cascaded or multi-level pure refrigeration cycles which are used for covering wide range of cooling temperature, as well as mixed refrigerant cycle which can maintain a simple structure. Heat integration technique has been used for graphically examining differences of commercial cycles discussed in this paper, while energy efficiency and economics of commercial liquefaction processes has been summarized. Discussion also has been made about how to select the most appropriate set of drivers for compressors used in the liquefaction plant.

The thermal response of carbon/phenolic used in a solid rocket nozzle liner was analyzed. In this paper, the numerical analysis of the thermal response of carbon/phenolic consists of (1) the integration equation of the boundary layer to obtain the convective heat transfer coefficient of the combustion gas on the rocket nozzle wall and (2) 1-D finite difference method for heat conduction of carbon/phenolic to calculate the ablation, char, and temperature. The calculated result was compared with the result of a blast-tube-type test motor. It is found that the calculated result shows good agreement with the thermal response of the test motor, except at the vicinity of the throat insert.

Steel corrosion in concrete is a main cause of deterioration and early failure of concrete structures. A novel integration of electromagnetic heat induction and infrared (IR) thermography is proposed for nondestructive detection of steel corrosion in concrete, by taking advantage of the difference in thermal characteristics of corroded and non-corroded steel. This paper focuses on experimental investigation of the concept. An inductive heater is developed to remotely heat the embedded steel from concrete surface, which is integrated with an IR camera. Concrete samples with different cover depths are prepared. Each sample is embedded with a single rebar in the middle, resulting an identical cover depth from the front and the back surfaces, which enable heat induction from one surface and IR imaging from the other simultaneously. The impressed current (IC) method is adopted to induce accelerated corrosion on the rebar. IR video images are recorded during the entire heating and cooling periods. The test results demonstrate a clear difference in thermal characteristics between corroded and non-corroded samples. The corroded sample shows higher rates of heating and cooling than those of the non-corroded sample. This study demonstrates a potential for nondestructive detection of rebar corrosion in concrete.
Pyrococcus furiosus α-amylase can hydrolyze α-1,4 linkages in starch and related carbohydrates under hyperthermophilic condition (~ 100℃), showing great potential in a wide range of industrial applications, while its relatively low productivity from heterologous hosts has limited the industrial applications. Bacillus subtilis, a gram-positive bacterium, has been widely used in industrial production for its non-pathogenic and powerful secretory characteristics. This study was conducted to increase production of P. furiosus α-amylase in B. subtilis through three strategies. Initial experiments showed that co-expression of P. furiosus molecular chaperone peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase through genomic integration mode, using a CRISPR/Cas9 system, increased soluble amylase production. Therefore, considering that native P. furiosus α-amylase is produced within a hyperthermophilic environment and is highly thermostable, heat treatment of intact culture at 90℃ for 15 min was performed, thereby greatly increasing soluble amylase production. After optimization of the culture conditions (nitrogen source, carbon source, metal ion, temperature and pH), experiments in a 3-L fermenter yielded a soluble activity of 3,806.7 U/ml, which was 3.3- and 28.2-fold those of a control without heat treatment (1,155.1 U/ml) and an empty expression vector control (135.1 U/ml), respectively. This represents the highest P. furiosus α-amylase production reported to date and should promote innovation in the starch liquefaction process and related industrial productions. Meanwhile, heat treatment, which may promote folding of aggregated P. furiosus α-amylase into a soluble, active form through the transfer of kinetic energy, may be of general benefit when producing proteins from thermophilic archaea.

Heat resistance performance evaluation and thermal analysis were performed to confirm the applicability of the lyocell-based carbon/phenolic composite material for heat-resistant parts for aerospace. Heat resistance performance evaluation of carbon/phenolic was conducted by Thermal Protection Evaluation Motor (TPEM). In this paper, boundary layer integration code considering the boundary layer analysis of combustion gas and MSC-Marc 2018 considering ablation and thermal pyrolysis were used for the thermal analysis. The ablation and thermal insulation performance were analyzed by the pressure curve of test motor and the cut carbon/phenolic specimens. The thermal response of the lyocell-based carbon/phenolic material was similar to that of the rayon-based carbon/phenolic material. Based on the results through the combustion test, the applicability of heat-resistant parts for aerospace to which domestic lyocell-based carbon fibers were applied was confirmed.
The delta-formulation of the Navier-Stokes equations has been popularly used in the aerodynamics area. Implicit algorithm can be easily implemented in that by using Taylor series expansion. This formulation is extended for an unsteady analysis by using a dual-time integration. In the meanwhile, the incompressible flows with heat transfers which occur in the area of thermo-hydraulics have been solved by a segregated algorithm such as the SIMPLE method, where each equation is discretised by using an under-relaxed deferred correction method and solved sequentially. In this study, the dual-time delta formulation is implemented in the segregated Navier-Stokes solver which is based on the collocated cell-centerd scheme with un unstructured mesh FVM. The pressure correction equation is derived by the SIMPLE method. From this study, it was found that the Euler dual-time method in the delta formulation can be combined with the SIMPLE method.
LED TV integration test unit are the equipment for testing LED BLU as LED BLU's operation, error check, AGING work. The previous test unit were inconvenient because it must change test unit in production line according to LCD's kind and size. This paper develops by integration style test unit that can accommodate various LED TV BLU model of 32 ~ 52 inch that is not one LED TV BLU model. We make that output current is various to dimension of 80 ~ 215 mA. We make functions that are LED BLU state check, Diming and heat occurrence mitigation. Also we develop firmware program and that the program can be upgraded and that can support new panel.
