  • HRSG, which is one of main components of the combined cycle power plant,is composed of an inlet duct, a main body and casing, an outlet duct and a stack. It is important to design HRSG wihtin the allowable noise limit. For this purpose, it is necessary to analyze and predict the noise reduction and radiation at HRSG. In this paper, the technology for the noise prediction at each part of HRSG has been based on the empirical and field data, and also the HRSG noise prediction program has been developed. In order to verify the developed technology and program a field test is conducted. The results of noise prediction show good agreement with the measured.

  • Dimension and capacity of the zero tail type mini excavator are small as compared with medium or large excavators. Therefore, problems of the noise and the heat are major issues in design due to layout of each component such as the engine and the hydraulic module. It is necessary to reduce the noise and the vibration of construction machine, due to be enforced regulation for high noise construction machinery in the world. The objective of this study is to provide basic data which is apply to predict noise effect in detail design stage by estimating noise of cabin for zero tail type mini excavator.

  • Overloading of electrical equipment results in excessive currents. As the heat developed in the cables is proportional to square of the current, they get overheated. The insulation on cables is generally made of materials which are damaged easily by excessive temperature. They may therefore lose their insulating properties and lead to short circuits. Since many insulating materials are combustible, they may even catch fire if the temperature rises to their ignition temperature. In this paper, we have simulated the thermal analysis for cable according to the value of current in a overload and a short with the cable of the L's company product(600 V, VV : Four Core) using the electro-thermal finite element method(Flux2D).

  • For continuously regenerative PM collecting system which adopted thermally stable SiC DPF and electrical heater which was placed upstream of the filter and driven by well constructed control logic, PM oxidation characteristics were investigated varying air flow rate, amounts of PM accumulated on the DPF and filter inlet temperature in order to get optimized PM regeneration performance. This study showed that the operating condition of air flow rate 70 lpm, high PM loading around 30g and filter inlet temperature $700^{\circ}C$ with heat insulation was effective in achieving high regeneration efficiency. Also, in this condition, we could decrease the electric energy consumption by reducing the regeneration time.

  • Recently, a large fire has occurred through a dry bit, which is a flammable exterior material, in Daebong Green Apartment Fire in Uijeongbu in 2015 and Jecheon Sports Center Fire in 2017. In this study, KS F ISO 5660-1 Cone calorimeter experiment was used to examine the fire risk of dry bit. Also, the performance of the repair and reinforcement materials to prevent fire expansion was examined. As a result, the dry bit is likely to be ignited by internal and external flower gardens, and its combustion rate and calorific value are very high. In addition, the performance of heat resistance such as ALC panel and ceramic board as a repair and reinforcement material has been proved. However, the insulation is expected to require further consideration.

  • Foamed concrete is a porous concrete that is cured by mixing bubbles into cement slurry. It is lighter than ordinary concrete and is characterized by higher insulation. Lightweight foamed concerte is mainly used as a sandwich panel in Korea, and is also used as a refractory filler in fireproof safes. Studies on lightwight foamed concrete have been carried out on strength, density and thermal conductivity. However, it is confirmed that the research on the fire resistance performance is very limited. Based on this study, fire resistance of lightweight foamed concrete using expanded polystyrene beads is investigated.

  • In this paper, we examined 10 domestic samples of three different model using thermal, humidity freeze, thermal-endurance and damp heat test under IEC61215 photovoltaic module environmental endurance test condition. Three was almost no changes on power generation. Insulation resistance capacity was much higher than judgement standard but, showed unstable results depending on environmental test items. On external appearance test, there were two models which showed bubble, humidity penetration, seal melted frame phenomenon. From this results, the degree of aging under the external environment is a main cause that shortens photovoltaic module life time. So it is considered that the efforts for finding optimum condition of manufacturing process should be needed.

  • The basalt fiber is expected to become a trend for industrial fibers as they have better properties of heat-resistant, non-combustion, absorbent, soundproof, moistureproof, lightweight, corrosion resistant, and high strength properties. Also, the fiber is found to be non-toxic and harmless to the human body. Therefore, in this study, we analyzed the chemical and mineral compositions of powdered sludge of basalt produced at seven sites on Jeju Island for the development of fire resistance insulating material for a building. The results showed that the basalt stone sludge is made from only sodium calcium aluminum silicate and ferridioside components unlike the basalt rock.

  • Energy demands for hotels in Korea are surveyed and statistically analyzed to develop calculation models for a simulation. Daily energy loads of 16 hotels located in Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Inchon, and Daejon are analyzed based on energy log sheets. Detailed hourly loads are field measured for 3 hotels that are carefully selected among the surveyed. One of the salient features for energy consumption by hotels is their weekly periodicity. Relatively large values of deviations are observed for both heat and electricity loads through the country. The mains factors are: location, hotel grade (luxuriousness) and insulation. Detailed quantitative information such are annual average, daily variation, and hourly patterns are provided.
