We derive priority decision making on healthcare service technology standardization in the home network through the decision support process with industry professionals. We configured a research group with 4 industrial areas including Industry, Academic, Research Institution and Medical Institution. And we also applied AHP methodology for the priority decision making. The research group decides an evaluation criteria which are consisted of marketability, technology, ripple effect, strategy for national policies in order to make a priority for healthcare service on a home network. And it is also decided 7 fields and 24 sub-fields, technically. In order to make a priority for the standardization, we use an AHP methodology, that is more objective and feasible, as a decision tool. After two-phase survey that consists of paper survey and face to face meeting, we get a conclusion that home healthcare content is at the top and then wireless home network follows it.
Purpose: This study aimed to identify the problems and improvement areas by reviewing the laws related to kindergarden healthcare workers. Methods: The laws were searched at the Korean law information center (https://www.law.go.kr/). We reviewed the 「Early Childhood Education Act」, 「School Health Act」, 「Medical Service Act」, 「Elementary and Secondary Education Act」and their enforcement decrees and rules. Results: The legal role of health teachers as school healthcare professionals was comprehensively specified by the 「School Health Act. However, the qualifications for and roles of health teachers were not fully described in 「Early Childhood Education Act], indicating a unclear legal basis for the qualifications for and roles of kindergarten health teachers. To support healthcare workers in kindergartens, it is necessary to amend the 「Early Childhood Education Act」 that provides the guidelines for qualifications for kindergarten health teachers in elementary, secondary, and special schools who have completed necessary continuing education. A health hub kindergarten could be a step-by-step option for all kindergartens to have healthcare workers. Conclusion: This review demonstrated the importance of amending the laws on kindergarten health teachers and health hub kindergartens for child health and safety. These findings could be used to support policies related to kindergarten healthcare workers.
As wireless and mobile technologies have advanced significantly, lots of large sized healthcare organizations have implemented so called mobile hospital (m-Hospital) which provides a location independent and point of care (POC) clinical environment. Implementation of m-Hospital enhances quality of care because health professionals such as physicians and nurses can use hospital information systems at the very place where patients are located without any delay. This paper presents a real-time patient monitoring system based on wireless network technologies. A general framework for the patient monitoring process is introduced and the architecture and components of the proposed monitoring system is described. The system collects and analyzes biometric signals of in-patients who suffer from cancer. Specifically, it continuously monitors oxygen saturation of patients in bed and alarms health professionals instantly when an abnormal status of the patient is detected. The monitoring system has been used and clinically verified in a university hospital.

Purpose: This study sought to develop a scale to evaluate patient-centered healthcare services at hospitals and verify its reliability and validity. Methods: We conducted a literature review and interviewed medical personnel and practitioners in medical institutions. We also conducted a content validation and preliminary survey of experts, including 40 preliminary items. We conducted the main survey among 240 medical institution workers to assess the validity and reliability of the preliminary measurement tool. Results: The validity and reliability of the scale were assessed by 29 items underlying six factors: ease of communication, continuity and extension of the hospital's role, stable environment, emotional support, respect for patients' values, and offer of information. Cronbach's α of the whole tool was .91, while the value of each factor ranged from .82 to .74, thereby verifying its reliability. Conclusion: The patient-centered healthcare services scale was identified as a tool appropriate for healthcare professionals. This tool will be useful in a diverse range of research on the development of educational programs for patient-centered healthcare services and the promotion of patient-centered causes.
As demands for health and wellbeing in the ageing society have grown, complex problems involving diverse stakeholders arise in the healthcare environment. Healthcare applications involve complex structures of interacting processes and professionals that need to exchange information to provide the care services. In this kind of systems many different professional competencies, ethical and sensibility requirements as well as legal frameworks coexist and because of that the information managed inside the system should not be freely accessed, on the contrary. it must be subject to very complex privacy restrictions. This is particularly critical in distributed systems, where additionally, security in remote transmissions must be ensured. In this paper, we address the fundamental security issues that must be considered in design of a distributed healthcare application.

This research aims to investigate how healthcare professionals can control their behaviors in the internet and the status of their Internet addiction, thus emphasizing appropriate internet ethics awareness of students majoring in healthcare-related field, the future healthcare professionals. The goal of this research is to verify the mediating effect of self-control between the status of internet addiction of healthcare-related college students and their internet ethical awareness. A questionnaire survey was conducted on 236 students majoring in healthcare-related fields in 5 universities located in D city from March to April, 2016. The result of analyzing correlation of Internet addiction, internet ethics awareness, and self-control shows that self-control is negatively correlated with internet addiction but positively correlated with internet ethics awareness. The result of research suggests that self-control does have partial mediation effect on internet addiction and internet ethical awareness. Accordingly, it is necessary to develop mediator program that enhances self-control in order to improve internet ethical awareness of healthcare-related college students and develops measures to prevent addition to the internet, one of the primary cause of decline in internet ethics awareness.
The purpose of this study was to investigate encouragement experience on breastfeeding of health professionals, and the support in their hospitals on breastfeeding. A questionnaire on breastfeeding was administered to the obstetricians, pediatricians and nurses at the department of pediatrics or obstetrics of university hospital and private hospital in Seoul and Choong-Chung Province in South Korea. Total numbers of study subjects were 346 (pediatrician 67, obstetrician 41, nurse 238). Data was statistically analyzed according to descriptive statistics, Chi-square test and multivariant analysis. The results were as follows : 1. Most of the respondents (93.6%) had a knowledge regarding breastfeeding which had more advantage than formula-feeding. But their experience to educate the mother about breastfeeding was very limited (34.8%). The major problems were insufficient concern of healthcare professionals, no trained personnel's and lack of education programs on breastfeeding. 2. Most of the respondents (82%) had learned breastfeeding management in class at the university. But 2/3 of them had not been educated on breastfeeding management after graduation. 3. More than half of the hospitals had no breastfeeding education programs. And they recommended the formula-feeding to the mothers. 4. Seventy percent of the respondents recognized that breastfeeding information offered to the mothers in their hospitals might help to increase the rate of breastfeeding. But only 40% of hospital had offered breastfeeding information using pamphlets or brochures. In our study, a majority of respondents had not been educated on breastfeeding after graduation. A personal experience in breastfeeding is known predictor of confidence in breastfeeding. Educational programs may have an effect to change the health professionals behavior. Therefore, it is necessary to assist health professionals in obtaining more knowledge about breastfeeding. Continuing education programs to health professionals should be offered by nation and regional organization.

Usage of traditional, complementary and alternative medicine (TCAM) has gained popularity over the past few years. However, very little is known about TCAM use among Malaysian cancer patients. This study aimed to identify the determinants of TCAM usage among cancer patients with determination of relationships between demographic factors, patient satisfaction with conventional treatment, knowledge on TCAM and healthcare professional influence. Patient's perceptions towards TCAM were also determined. A simple random convenient sampling method was used to recruit 354 patients from Hospital Kuala Lumpur between February to April 2013. All were directly interviewed with a structured questionnaire. In this study, 172 respondents were TCAM users. There was no significant differences between demographic background of respondents in the usage of TCAM. Minimal correlation was found between patient satisfaction with the conventional treatment and usage of TCAM (r=0.091). A poor correlation was found between healthcare professional's influence and TCAM usage (r=-0.213) but the results suggested that increase in influence would decrease TCAM usage. Patient TCAM knowledge correlated negatively with the TCAM usage (r=-0.555) indicated that cancer patients are less likely to use TCAM when they have more TCAM knowledge. Healthcare professionals should be fully equipped with the necessary TCAM knowledge while maintaining patient satisfaction with the conventional treatment. They should also intervene on patient TCAM usage where a potential drug interaction or a harmful adverse event can occur.
