  • Seal is a tool to prove an individual or group. Guk-Sae and Eo-Bo uses typeface to represent their names or titles, which change from tensile to tensile and have varied from time to time. Although the Korean alphabet currently uses Hangul, it had used Chinese characters before Hun-Min-Jeong-Um was created in 1443. All seals and royal seal before the Korean Seal of State were made in Chinese characters. This thesis analyzes the concept of typography through the royal seal, and the subject of this study is 'Sugang Emperor' which is the only eight-letter version seal of the Joseon Dynasty's various royal seal. Bo-Yeong, which is shown in Bo-Myeon has artistic value with beautiful typeface and proportions, which is worth research. It examines the features of the Korean seal, analyzes and studies the typeface shape and features from the typographic perspective of the "Sugang Emperor Bo-Yeong," or writing.

  • This paper proposes the Hunminjungum Keypad that applied the creation principle of Hunminjungum to the design of keypad. The proposed keypad arranged 28 letters of Hunminjungum to have correlations with each other between consonants, between vowels, and between consonants and vowels. That is, Consonant buttons are arranged by grouping letters of the same sound by sounds of five voices. And the vowel buttons are arranged at the bottom and the right side of the consonant area according to the position where a vowel is attached to the consonant. In the meantime, Hangul keypads have mainly used 12 button keypads in 4 lines and 3 columns. These keypads have structurally disadvantageous in the touch count and moving distance. Recently, keypads with many letter buttons such as QWERTY and single-vowel are also used a lot. If the number of letter buttons provided in the keypad increases, touch count decreases. And If the letter buttons are arranged to have a correlation with each other, the moving distance becomes smaller. The experimental results show that the proposed keypad has high efficiency in all evaluation factors such as touch count, moving distance and input time.

  • We have been developed the smart tourism app and the Instagram and YouTube contents to provide personalized tourism information and travel product information to individual tourists. In this paper, we develop a rule-based smart tourism chatbot with the khaiii (Kakao Hangul Analyzer III) morphological analyzer and Neo4J graph database. In the proposed chatbot system, we use a morpheme analyzer, a proper noun dictionary including tourist destination names, and a general noun dictionary including containing frequently used words in tourist information search to understand the intention of the user's question. The tourism knowledge base built using the Neo4J graph database provides adequate answers to tourists' questions. In this paper, the nodes of Neo4J are Area based on tourist destination address, Contents with property of tourist information, and Service including service attribute data frequently used for search. A Neo4J query is created based on the result of analyzing the intention of a tourist's question with the property of nodes and relationships in Neo4J database. An answer to the question is made by searching in the tourism knowledge base. In this paper, we create the tourism knowledge base using more than 1300 Jeju tourism information used in the smart tourism app. We plan to develop a multilingual smart tour chatbot using the named entity recognition (NER), intention classification using conditional random field(CRF), and transfer learning using the pretrained language models.

  • The study aims to examine the rationality of the naming system with five properties of Korean pronunciation, which is used by most Korean name writer currently. A phonetic naming system is based on the premise that when a name is called, the sounds will have an audible effect on the speaker and the listener, and this phenomenon would ultimately have a good or bad influence on the owner of the name. The phonetic naming system is to name it by using five elements' coexistence and conflict of Korean pronunciation, and there are many progressing arguments that represent 'The Principles of Creation of Hunminjeongeum', 'The Historical Origin of Phonetic Naming System' and 'The Relevance of Modern Korean' etc. In the process of determining the validity of these arguments, distortion between the principles of creation of Hunminjeongeum and naming, a weak historical basis of the phonetic naming system, errors and problems in the usage of five elements of pronunciation, and fallacy of modern Korean phonology appear. For these reasons as above, the Korean phonetic naming system is concluded to be unreasonable, which claims not to be in line with the intention of creating Hunminjeongeum.

  • Objectives This study aims to investigate how the Korean disease-related vocabulary is established or changed when it is translated into French or English. Through this, we examine changes in the meaning of diseases and the ecosystem of disease-related vocabulary in transition period of $19^{th}$ to $20^{th}$ century. Methods Korean disease-related vocabulary are extracted from a total of 148,000 Korean headwords included in our corpus of three bilingual dictionaries. Among them, the scope of analyisis is limited to group of vocabularies that include a high frequency words, disease(病) and symptom(症). Results The first type of change is the emergence of a neologism. In this case, coexistence of existing vocabulary and new words is observed. The second change is the appearance of loan words written in Hangul. The third is the case where the interpretation of meaning is changed while maintaining the word form. Finally, the fourth change is that the orthographic variants are displayed while maintaining the meaning of the existing vocabulary. Discussion Disease-related vocabulary increased greatly between 1897 and 1931. The increasing factor of vocabulary was the emergence of coined words, compound words and the influx of foreign words. The Korean language and the Western language made a new lexical form in order to introduce a new unknown concept to the Korean. We could also confirm that the way in which English word expanded its semantic field by modifying the way of representing the meaning of Korean Disease-related vocabulary.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the applicability of machine learning targeting titles in the classification of books in public libraries. Data analysis was performed using Python's scikit-learn library through the Jupiter notebook of the Anaconda platform. KoNLPy analyzer and Okt class were used for Hangul morpheme analysis. The units of analysis were 2,000 title fields and KDC classification class numbers (300 and 600) extracted from the KORMARC records of public libraries. As a result of analyzing the data using six machine learning models, it showed a possibility of applying machine learning to book classification. Among the models used, the neural network model has the highest accuracy of title classification. The study suggested the need for improving the accuracy of title classification, the need for research on book titles, tokenization of titles, and stop words.

  • In this paper, we implemented a Korean text generation and classification model based on a deep learning algorithm that can be applied to various industries. It consists of two implemented GAN-based Korean handwriting generation models and CNN-based Korean handwriting classification models. The GAN model consists of a generator model for generating fake Korean handwriting data and a discriminator model for discriminating fake handwritten data. In the case of the CNN model, the model was trained using the 'PHD08' dataset, and the learning result was 92.45. It was confirmed that Korean handwriting was classified with % accuracy. As a result of evaluating the performance of the classification model by integrating the Korean cursive data generated through the implemented GAN model and the training dataset of the existing CNN model, it was confirmed that the classification performance was 96.86%, which was superior to the existing classification performance.

  • Since most of the information is transmitted through the network, eavesdropping and interception by a third party may occur. Appropriate measures are required for effective, secure and confidential communication in the network. Steganography is a technology that prevents third parties from detecting that confidential information is hidden in other media. Due to structural vulnerabilities, information protected by encryption and steganography techniques can be easily exposed to illegitimate groups. In order to improve the limitations of LSB where the simplicity and predictability of the hiding method exist, I propose a technique to improve the security of the message to be hidden based on PRNG and recursive function. To enhance security and confusion, XOR operation was performed on the result of selecting a random bit from the upper bits of the selected channel and the information transformed by the RS-box. PSNR and SSIM were used to confirm the performance of the proposed method. Compared to the reference values, the SSIM and PSNR of the proposed method were 0.9999 and 51.366, respectively, confirming that they were appropriate for hiding information.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to extend the knowledge about the textbook, Public Health Nursing Textbook (in Korean, Gongjungwisaeng Kanhohak) which is published in 1933 by the Nurses' Association of Korea. Methods: Public Health Nursing Textbook was investigated from the cover page to the last page and compared with two original books and other nursing books published in modern Korea. Results: Public Health Nursing Textbook was the forth published Korean nursing textbook and the first published Korean public health nursing textbook. Rosenberger, a missionary nurse from USA, Lee Keumjeon, Korean public health nurse who studied in Canada, and other Koreans were in charge of translation, etc. It is a user - friendly book written mainly in Korean (Hangul) with Chinese characters and included the English table of contents, preface and back cover. Most of its contents were extracted and translated from two original books, one is Public Health Nursing by Mary Gardner and the other is Personal Hygiene Applied by Jesse Williams. It is worth noting that the book not only introduced the public health nurses's activities across the country, but also focused on the information necessary for common health problems at that time. Conclusion: From the Public Hygiene and Nursing, it can be seen that public health nurses had been independently educated since Imperial Japan's colonial period, and public health nursing was growing as a independent field in Korea.

  • Currently, with the proliferation of digital devices, the significance of handwritten texts in daily lives is gradually diminishing. As the use of keyboards and touch screens increase, a decline in Korean handwriting quality is being observed across a broad spectrum of Korean documents, from young students to adults. However, Korean handwriting still remains necessary for many documentations, as it retains individual unique features while ensuring readability. To this end, this paper aims to implement an application designed to improve and correct the quality of handwritten Korean script The implemented application utilizes the CRAFT (Character-Region Awareness For Text Detection) model for handwriting area detection and employs the VGG-Feature-Extraction as a deep learning model for learning features of the handwritten script. Simultaneously, the application presents the user's handwritten Korean script's reliability on a syllable-by-syllable basis as a recognition rate and also suggests the most similar fonts among candidate fonts. Furthermore, through various experiments, it can be confirmed that the proposed application provides an excellent recognition rate comparable to conventional commercial character recognition OCR systems.
