노년여성을 위한 재킷패턴 연구 (A Study on the Jacket Pattern for Elderly Women)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop an appropriate jacket pattern for elderly women over sixty years old, providing a good fit and appearance. Results were as follows: The length of the jacket was made long enough to cover the area 22.0cm below the waistline. The waist back length was made 1.7cm longer than the actual size of the waist back length. The armhole length was made 0.5cm longer than B/4, enhacing the appearance and functionality while allowing freer movement of the arms. As for the front and back interscye breadths, the front interscye breadth was made 1.7cm larger than the actual size while the back interscye breadth was only 1.0cm larger, providing the front interscye breadth more space. The bust breadth was made 10.0cm larger than the bust circumference measure(B/4+2.5cm), the waist breadth was made 6.0cm larger than the waist circumference measure(W/4+1.5cm), The hip breadth was made 12.0cm larger than the him circumference measure(H/4+3.0cm). The sleeve length was made 3.0cm larger than the arm length measure, as the sleeve length of a jacket is usually long enough to cover the ulnar styloid. The sleeve width was made 5.0cm larger than the upper arm circumference measure, as the upper arm circumference measure of the model pattern was too large than necessary, worsening the overall appearance. The sleeve cap height was set at AH/4+4.7cm. The wrist circumference of 27.0cm was set, allowing 2/3 and 1/3 for the large sleeve and small sleeve respectively.

유기농 실천 논토양의 이화학적 특성 (Properties of Organically Practiced Paddy Soils)

  • 최적의 유기농경지 토양 관리 기준 및 양분 관리 방안을 제시하기 위한 기초자료를 만들기 위해 유기농 인증을 받은 국내 75개 선도 농가를 선정하고, 논 토양에서 이앙 전에 토양 시료를 채취하여 이화학적 특성을 분석하였다. 유기농 토양은 평균적으로 pH 6.2, 유기물 $25.6mg\;kg^{-1}$, 유효 인산 $88.4mg\;kg^{-1}$이나 편차가 크게 나타났으며, 유기농과 관행농을 포함한 전국 규모 토양조사 결과에 비해 pH는 높게 나타났고, 유효 인산은 낮게 나타났으며 유기물은 비슷한 수준을 보였다. 한편 재배년수에 따라 토양 pH와 공극률은 높아지고 있었으며, EC와 유효인산, 용적밀도, 토양 경도는 낮아지고 있었으며, 유기물은 차이를 보이지 않았다. 용적밀도는 표토($R^2=-0.5424$)와 심토($R^2=-0.6429$) 모두 유기물과 부의 상관관계를 나타냈다(p<0.05). 조사 결과 유기물과 유효 인산을 제외한 대부분의 토양 이화학성 인자들에서 토양의 질이 향상되고 있어, 향후 유기물 관리 대책 수립과 유기농업자재로 사용가능한 인산 자재의 발굴이나 개발이 필요한 것으로 사료되었다.

A Study on the Physioactivities of Salicornia herbacea L. Grown in Sunchon Bay on Cell Viability and Antioxidative Effect in Cultured C6 Glioma Cells

  • To evaluate the physioactivity of Salicornia herbacea L. (SH), which are obtained from Sunchon bay as wild plants, an SH extract was prepared by freeze drying to obtain SH, and by cold drying to obtain SH. For the evaluation of their bioactivities, cell viability and antioxidative effect were measured. The XTT assay was adopted to measure cell viability after C6 glioma cells were treated with various concentrations of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and hydrogen peroxide ($H_2O_2$) for 8 hours. The DPPH-radical scavenging activity was also measured for the antioxidative effect. In this study, the $XTT_{50}$ value of $H_2O_2$ was determined at $30{\mu}M$ which was highly toxic based on the cytotoxic criteria by Borenfreund and Puerner. The protective effect of SH extract significantly increased cell viability compared with $H_2O_2$-treated group. Its antioxidative effect showed a significant DPPH-radical scavenging activity at concentrations of $1-100{\mu}g/mL$, while SH extract showed highly a DPPH-radical scavenging activity at only $100{\mu}g/mL$. From these results, $H_2O_2$ was highly toxic in cultured C6 glioma cells, and SH extract was effective in the prevention of cell damage by its antioxidative effect.

A novel barium oxide-based Iraqi sand glass to attenuate the low gamma-ray energies: Fabrication, mechanical, and radiation protection capacity evaluation

  • In the present work, untreated Iraqi sand with grain sizes varied between 100 and 200 ㎛ was used to produce a colored glass sample that has shielding features against the low gamma-ray energy. Therefore, a weight of 70-60 wt % sand was mixed with 9-14 wt% B2O3, 8-10 wt% Na2O, 4-6 wt% of CaO, 3-6 wt% Al2O3, in addition to 0.3% of Co2O3. After melting and annealing the glass sample, the X-ray diffraction spectrometry was applied to affirm the amorphous phase of the fabricated glass samples. Moreover, the X-ray dispersive energy spectrometry was used to measure the chemical composition, and the MH-300A densimeter was applied to measure the fabricated sample's density. The Makishima-Makinzie model was applied to predict the mechanical properties of the fabricated glass. Besides, the Monte Carlo simulation was used to estimate the fabricated glass sample's radiation shielding capacity in the low-energy region between 22.1 and 160.6 keV. Therefore, the simulated linear attenuation coefficient changed between 10.725 and 0.484 cm-1, raising the gamma-ray energy between 22.1 and 160.6 keV. Also, other shielding parameters such as a half-value layer, pure lead equivalent thickness, and buildup factors were calculated.

원형톱에 의한 속성수 절단 적정 소요동력 산정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Cutting Optimal Power Requirements of Fast Growing Trees by Circular Saw)

  • 본 연구에서는 단벌기 바이오매스 생산림(Short rotation forest, SRF)에 식재되어 있는 속성수인 이태리포플러(Populus euramercicana)을 이용하여 수확 시 소요되는 동력을 측정하여 수확기계 동력원을 선정하기 위한 기초자료를 제공하기 위하여 수행되었다. 실험 수준은 밀기속도(0.41, 1.25, 2.5 m/s) 3수준, 절단속도(800, 1,000, 1,200 rpm) 3수준, 근원경(50, 70, 90, 110, 130 mm) 5수준으로 선정하였다. 목표로 하는 바이오매스 추정량은 20~30 ton/ha이나 3년 후 수확(근원경 50 mm) 시 이를 못 미치는 10.5 ton로 나타났다. 목표량에 도달할 수 있는 바이오매스 추정량은 근원경 90, 110 mm으로 각각 23.5, 32.5 ton/ha으로 추정되었다. 실험결과, 밀기속도 0.41 m/s에서 최소절단속도(800 rpm)로 절단 시 소요되는 동력은 각각 128.2, 175.8 W로 나타났고, 작업면적이 0.3 ha/h에서 작업능률은 각각 16.5, 22.8 ton/h을 처리할 수 있는 것으로 사료된다. 밀기속도 1.25 m/s에서는 소요되는 동력은 각각 113.8, 153.7 W, 작업면적이 1 ha/h에서 작업능률은 각각 23.5, 32.5 ton/h을 처리할 수 있는 것으로 사료된다. 밀기속도 2.5 m/s에서는 소요되는 동력은 각각 119.8, 166.9 W, 작업면적 2 ha/h에서 작업능률은 각각 47.0, 65.5 ton/ha을 처리할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다. 따라서 목표로 하는 바이오매스 추정량을 처리할 수 있는 밀기속도 1.25, 2.50 m/s, 절단속도 800 rpm 일 때의 수확기계의 동력원을 선정할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

FISS and SDO Observation of a Brightening Event Near a Pore

  • We report a fine scale transient brightening event near a pore boundary with the Fast Imaging Solar Spectrograph (FISS) of the 1.6m Goode Solar Telescope (GST), the Atmospheric Imaging Assembly (AIA) aboard the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO), and Helioseismic and Magnetic Imager (HMI) aboard SDO. The event appears in all AIA extreme ultraviolet bands, also in the two FISS lines, $H{\alpha}$ and Ca II $8542{\AA}$, and lasted for a minute. The brightening occurred at a footpoint of a loop. The conjugate brightening occurred at the other foot point outside the FISS field of view. The brightening near the pore exhibit a redshift of 4.3 km s-1 in the $H{\alpha}$ and about 2.3 km s-1 in Ca II line. Differential emission measure derived from 6 AIA EUV passbands and cloud model fitting of the two FISS lines indicate the temperature increase of between 10,000 and 20 MK at the main event. After the brightening, the upward mass motion appears in the AIA images. We discuss the physical implication of this brightening in the context of magnetic reconnection and coronal heating.

RAW 264.7 세포에서 조팝나무 에탄올 분획물의 항염 활성 (Anti-inflammatory effects of the ethanol fraction of Spiraea prunifolia var. simpliciflora in RAW 264.7 cells)

  • 본 연구실의 선행 연구에서 항산화 활성이 가장 높았던 조팝나무 H2O-EtOH (40:60) 분획물(SP60)의 항염 효능을 확인하여 기능성 소재로의 개발 가능성을 알아보고자 하였다. 항염활성 측정을 위해 RAW 264.7 세포에서 먼저 WST assay를 실시하여 SP60이 125 ㎍/mL 농도까지 세포 생존율에 영향을 미치지 않는 것을 확인하였다. Raw264.7 세포에 LPS와 SP60을 동시에 처리하여 NO, TNF-α, IL-6, IL-1β 생성과 iNOS, COX-2, NF-κB 발현을 측정하였다. SP60은 NO, TNF-α, IL-6, IL-1β 생성량을 모두 유의하게 억제시켰으며 western blot으로 iNOS, COX-2의 발현과 NF-κB의 활성을 측정한 결과 SP60을 처리한 군에서 농도 의존적으로 그 발현량과 활성을 억제하였다. 따라서 조팝나무 분획물은 항염 효능을 가진 것으로 판단되며 항염 관련 기능성 식품 및 소재로의 개발 가능성을 확인하였다.

Long-Term Stability for Co-Electrolysis of CO2/Steam Assisted by Catalyst-Infiltrated Solid Oxide Cells

  • This study investigated the long-term durability of catalyst(Pd or Fe)-infiltrated solid oxide cells for $CO_2$/steam co-electrolysis. Fuel-electrode supported solid oxide cells with dimensions of $5{\times}5cm^2$ were fabricated, and palladium or iron was subsequently introduced via wet infiltration (as a form of PdO or FeO solution). The metallic catalysts were employed in the fuel-electrode to promote $CO_2$ reduction via reverse water gas shift reactions. The metal-precursor particles were well-dispersed on the fuel-electrode substrate, which formed a bimetallic alloy with Ni embedded on the substrate during high-temperature reduction processes. These planar cells were tested using a mixture of $H_2O$ and $CO_2$ to measure the electrochemical and gas-production stabilities during 350 h of co-electrolysis operations. The results confirmed that compared to the Fe-infiltrated cell, the Pd-infiltrated cell had higher stabilities for both electrochemical reactions and gas-production given its resistance to carbon deposition.

체표면적 산출식에 관한 연구 -40대 여성을 중심으로- (A Study of Body Surface Area Calculation -Centering around 40 Ages-)

  • Data of the body surface is a necessary unit for the measuring of metabolism energy and activity energy. And also, these data are referring to check the degree of retaining warmth of clothes, to find the effect of heat insulation according to body surface, to calculate an average temperature of skin, and to study the several fields of clothing. In measuring of body surface, it si actually impossible to measure a subject's body surface in each experiment. As the experimental method, both gypsum method, by which the shape of body an be copied as it is, and the weighting method from which planed body surface area can be measured with consistent thickness of polyprophylene film as used. In fact, every female subject feels uncomfortable to measure her body surface as a naked body. There, it is providing a simple, accurate regressive equation with weight & height as variable factors in this study. This equation is as=117.02W+77.31H-3344.94 with average error : 0.1%, absolute average error : 2.07%.

피부건조증 환자에 대한 아로마오일 사용시 스킨 pH.소양증 변화 (The Effects of Aromatherapy on Skin pH and Pruritis in Patients with Xerosis Cutis)

  • Objectives : This study was designed to identify the possibility of aroma oils as the complementary medical goods specially for the effects of aromatheraphy on xerosis cutis. Materials and Methods : The participants were 23 adult patients and all participants of this study use aroma oils which is known to effect on xerosis cutis. The subjects consist of voluntary patients with xerosis cutis in Seong-So Hospital in Andong Kyoungbuk, Korea. From April 1st to April 30th, 2004 for 4 weeks, the subjects massaged aroma oils on itching parts or the whole body. Aroma oils were Lavender, Losemary, Jasmine and blended drop by drop per 10ml jojoba oil which used a carrier oil. Skin pH was measured with a skin pH meter(Model : HI98110, Se-Chang instruments, made in Portuga. After 4weeks using aroma oils, the participants answered questions about the feeling of satisfaction with aroma oils. Results : Changes in the physiological indices. The mean deviation of skin pH was $5.58{\pm}0.47$ points before using aroma oils and $5.53{\pm}0.45$ points after 2 weeks, no statistical significance was found(p=0.221). MD was $5.36{\pm}0.41$ points after 4 weeks using aroma oils, which was statistically significant decrease of 0.22 points(p=0.001) Changes on the Pruritus Score Scale. A modified scale of the Pruritus Score Scale(Duo, 1987) was used to measure the severity, location, frequency, and the inconveniences of daily life due to prurius. The maximum scale of severity was 4 points, the full marks of location was 2 points, the full marks of frequency was 3 points, the full marks of inconveniences of daily life due to pruritus was 3 points. The scores ranged from 0 to 12, with 12 indicating the most severe pruritus. There was no statistical difference in severity and frequency score at 4 weeks later(severity p=0.097, frequency p=0.633). A statistically significant difference was found in the score of location and the inconveniences of daily life due to pruritus(each p=0.003). Conclusion : Generally speaking, the patient suffering from renal itch is the higher than normal in skin pH levels. that means to show alkaline condition of skin surface. In some case in this study, skin pH levels was rather lower than normal levels when measured actually patients suffering from renal itch by skin pH meter. But in this study post-test skin pH levels decreased, showing the contribution of aromathrapy to acidic condition of skin surface in suffering from renal itch. It seems to be some help to cure a pruritus and also have no ill effects on aroma oils.
