This paper is a follow up to the previous study which reveals that smartphone users are divided into three subcategories according to their usage characteristics. In this paper, these groups are called as 'general', 'entertainment', and 'work-assistant', taking into account their respective characteristics. The 'general' is a group whose smartphone usage characteristics are not focused on a specific purpose, the 'entertainment' is focused on music, internet, SNS, picture, and e-banking, and the 'work-assistant' is on work, GPS, diary. Inter-relation between the importance and satisfaction for the purchase determinants to the groups is investigated. In addition, Kano analysis of quality attributes is also performed, which includes quality type, satisfaction/dissatisfaction index, and PCSI (Potential Customer Satisfaction Improvement) index. The analysis result are as follows. Firstly, inter-relation between importance and satisfaction differs by user group. 'Internet', 'Ease of use', and 'Performance' purchase determinants are evaluated as competitive determinants in 'work-assistant' user group. Secondly Kano quality types of quality characteristics also differs by user group. 'Application' was classified as an attractive (A) types to 'entertainment' group and so on. 'Internet' 'Failure/Bug', 'Touch response rate' and 'Charging' are located in 'Nice' Region of S-PCSI Diagram and have to be considered as strategic quality characteristics. The results of this study is expected to give some helps in establishing a customer tailored quality strategy.

In this research, we applied a problem-based learning(PBL) method for one semester, and measured critical thinking disposition, self efficacy for group work and self confidence of nursing process of Nursing Process and Critical Thinking subjects before and after application. This research is one group pre-test and post-test design. The subjects of this study were collected using an online questionnaire for second-year nursing students located in G city, and 108 students participated in the final. The result of this research showed that critical thinking disposition(p=.000), self efficacy for group work(p=.003) and self confidence of nursing process(p=.000) increased statistically significantly after problem-based learning(PBL). This findings indicate that problem-based learning(PBL) is effective in improving critical thinking disposition, self efficacy for group work and self confidence of nursing process. Therefore, If problem-oriented learning (PBL) is expanded and applied to nursing education, it is believed that it will be effective in enhancing the core competencies of nursing students.
Objectives : The purpose of this study was to assess the relationship between job strains and absenteeism from work. Methods : The study design was cross-sectional, and the study subjects consisted of 1,166 workers who were employed in the small-sized industries. A self administered questionnaire was used to measure the general characteristics, job characteristics(job demand, job control), and social support(coworker support, supervisor support) at work. The Job Content Questionnaire(JCQ) was used to assess job demand(2 items) and decision lattitude(10 items). Social support at work (10 items) was measured using JCQ. Sick absence was collected using self-report and were rechecked by the attendance record of their company. Odds ratios and 95% confidence intervals for the association between job strain and sick absence were estimated. The modifying effect of social support was evaluated by stratification. Logistic regression was used to estimate the relationship between job strain and sick absence. Results : In the bivariate analysis, the variables related to sick absence were age, marital status, occupation, job demand. Four distinctly different kinds of level of job strain were generated by the combination of job demand and job control: low strain group, high strain group, active group, and passive group. The crude odds ratio of high job strain was 1.78(95% CI: 1.26-2.53), and those of active group and passive group were 1.33(95% CI: 1.07-1.66) and 1.13 (95% CI: 0.88-1.47), respectively. The odds ratio of high job strain after adjusting for age and occupation were still significant The odds ratio of high job strain in low social support was 5.96(95% CI: 2.45-14.51), but that in high social support was 0.73(95% CI: 0.26-2.01). Conclusions : Job strain was associated with increased risk of absenteeism from work, and social support at work modified the association between job strain and sick absence.
Subsequent to major changes in workplace such as communication method, uncertain organizational environment, and globalizaiton, several studies in workplace have explored the effects of those changes on work outcomes. Especially, employees need to have the balance in working alone and working with others. The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of control over the physical environment by individuals and the effects of flexibility on individual and group work outcomes in the workplace, to examine the effects of distraction on work outcomes, and to suggest a interrelationships among variables. In this study, four hundred and nine questionnaires were collected from employees of three manufacturing corporations in Michigan, U. S. In order to explore the causal interferences among multiple relationships suggested in this study, path analysis was employed using Lisrel 8.54. The results indicated that control over the physical environmental features of the workplace positively influenced job satisfaction. The findings also supported the hypothesis that flexibility is positively related to task group cohesiveness. It was found that distraction was negatively associated with control and flexibility. However, it was not supported that control was positively associated with perceived performance. This study found control and flexibility in the workplace to be important. Some practical implications were suggested emphasizing that control and flexibility allow limited resources to be used in ways that permit individuals to work effectively within a changing work environment.

Recently, office workers are increasingly aware of the right to disconnect because of the pressure from strong connections with Internet messengers. In this study, we examined the reason why the perception of the right to disconnect increases and how to deal with it. This research model is that smart working and psychological attachment from work affect right to disconnect, and that open communication and gender moderate the intensity of these effects. To verify this research model, survey questionnaires were distributed to workers in smart working environments, and 400 data were collected and analyzed using Smart-PLS. As results of data analysis, it was verified that smart working and psychological attachment from work had a significant influence on right to disconnect, that open communication group had a lesser effect of psychological attachment from work on right to disconnect than closed communication group, and that women had a lesser effect of psychological attachment from work on right to disconnect than men. Organizations need to maintain a desirable level of right to disconnect in order to improve the quality of working life. But, if it is impossible, They need to change the way of communication more openly so as to absorb the burden of strong connection by Internet. And they need to perform task assignment or stress relief policy reflecting gender characteristics.
The purpose of this study were to analyze work function and labor productivity in school foodservice systems through work sampling methodology. Conventional foodservice were classified into 5 group depending on the number of meals served. Commissary school foodservices were also classified into 5 group by cluster analysis using the number of meals served, the number of satellite schools, and the duration of time for delivery of food. Work measurement through work sampling methodology was conducted in at 5 conventional and 21 commissary food -services during 3 consecutive days from September to October in 1995. Results from work measurement through work sampling methodology were as followed : The most prevalent work functions was cleaning (26.5%) and then processing (25.1%) in conventional while it was processing (30.9%) and then cleaning(25.2%) in commissary school foodservice. Delay was 22.9% and 19.7% respectively. Mean labor minutes per meal of conventional and commissary foodservics were 4.57 and 4.09 minutes, respectively : no significant difference in labor minutes per meal existed between the two systems. but mean labor minutes per meal of commissary foodsevices(1.79min) was significantly lower than that of conventional foodservice(2.33min) during work time before service (p<0.05). Productivity was significantly lower in foodservices which served less than 400 servings ; n significant differences existed among 401-70, 701-1,100 and 1,101-1,500 meals. The highest productivity was in conventional school foodservices which served 1,501-1,900meals. Labor minutes per meal of commissary school foodservice which served less than 400meals per day was significantly lower than those of foodservice which served 401-1,900meals (p<0.05). Labor minutes per meal, preparation and cleaning were positively correlation in two school foodservice systems.
In this study, the impact of organizational culture on the quality of social work services in hospitals were empirically analysed. A mailed questionnaire survey was conducted between February 19 and April 10, 2001. A sample of total 70 hospitals, including general hospitals with one social worker at least and single-department hospital with two social workers or more, were identified nationwide through the registry of Korean Association of Medical Social Workers and Korean Association of Hospitals. According to coping strategy and reacting pattern with the environmental changes, four types of organizational culture in each hospital, classified as group culture, developmental culture, hierarchial culture, and rational culture, were adopted for the independent variables. Three dimensional aspects of quality of social work service - structure, process, and outcome were selected as dependent variables in this study. Also the quality of social work service was distributed into provider-perceiving quality and consumer-perceiving quality The major findings were as following in summary; First, most social workers reported that the characteristic of culture in their hospitals are group culture the first, hierarchial culture the second, developmental culture the third, and rational culture finally in order of comparing the level of quality perceived between social worker's recognition. Second, service provider and consumer, The provider-perceiving quality showed less score than that of consumer, especially the lowest was the score of quality of outcome perceived by provider. Third, according to the types of organizational culture, there were significantly different levels of quality in total social work services, structure dimension and process dimension. The quality of outcome dimension did not show significant differences among the type of organizational culture. Finally, the most influential variables to the quality of social work service ice proved departmental form of social work unit, leader of social work unit, and developmental culture of hospital To assure quality services, accordingly, social work unit in hospital is required to be organized as a single unit, that means to be an independent department of which qualified social worker is supposed to control the unit. It is strongly recommended to develop leadership for the leaders of social work unit.

Background: Young male and female workers are over-represented in statistics concerning negative outcomes of poor work environment and risky work. Young workers often have low awareness of risk, a lack of safety training, and inadequate introduction to the work. The aim of this study was to identify the knowledge and experiences of pupils of vocational schools concerning potential work environment risks in their future work. Methods: The study design was a dual one, and included a questionnaire and focus group interviews. The study group consisted of 239 pupils from 10 upper secondary schools, who were graduating pupils in four vocational programs: the Industrial Technology Programme, the Restaurant Management and Food Programme, the Transport Programme, and the Handicraft Programme (in which students specialize in wood products). The upper secondary schools were located in the central region of Sweden. Results: The pupils had limited knowledge that employers must, by law, conduct risk analyses and prevent risks. Many felt that they themselves are mainly responsible for performing their tasks safely. Pupils in all programs mentioned acute risk as the greatest risk at work. The theoretical education about safety at work was provided in the $1^{st}$ year of the 3-year vocational programs. Conclusion: A systematic approach to pupils' training in work environment, which is a basis for a safe and healthy workplace, is lacking. The study findings indicate that pupils are offered knowledge far from that intended by laws and by state-of-the-art occupational health risk research.
Background: Agricultural work is physically demanding and is associated with a high frequency of musculoskeletal disorders. It is challenging to comprehensively understand the present status of work-related diseases and injuries among farmers in underdeveloped countries. Objects: This study aimed to elucidate the current status of work-related musculoskeletal disorders in local farmers in Tigray, Ethiopia, and identify the agricultural factors associated work-related musculoskeletal pain (AFWMP) and healthy living and healthy behavior factors associated work-related musculoskeletal pain (HFWMP). Methods: The Institute for Poverty Alleviation and International Development at Yonsei University conducted a survey of 126 households in Tigray, Ethiopia in 2014. A total of 116 individuals (73 men, 43 women) representing each household answered the questionnaires. Results: 1) Work-related musculoskeletal pain (WMSP) most commonly occurred when performing heavy lifting and most frequently occurred in the lower back. 2) Age, self-perceived labor intensity, and months of farming work were significantly higher in the pain group than those in the non-pain group. 3) Overall work-related musculoskeletal pain intensity (WPI) showed positive and negative correlations with years of farming experience and self-perceived health status, respectively. 4) In binary logistic regression, the occurrence of WMSP showed significant associations with self-perceived labor intensity. 5) On multiple linear regression analysis, age, months of farming work, and self-perceived health status had a significant impact on overall WPI. Conclusion: The WMSP of farmers in Tigray, Ethiopia was related to the characteristics of farm working and health status. Furthermore, HFWMP and AFWMP were the chief factors affecting the occurrence of WMSP in farmers in Tigray. Therefore, both HFWMP and AFWMP should be considered for clinical health assessments of farmers with WMSP in underdeveloped African countries.

Background: Mental health complaints are quite common in health care employees and can have adverse effects on work functioning. The aim of this study was to evaluate an e-mental health (EMH) approach to workers' health surveillance (WHS) for nurses and allied health professionals. Using the waiting-list group of a previous randomized controlled trial with high dropout and low compliance to the intervention, we studied the pre- and posteffects of the EMH approach in a larger group of participants. Methods: We applied a pretest-posttest study design. The WHS consisted of online screening on impaired work functioning and mental health followed by online automatically generated personalized feedback, online tailored advice, and access to self-help EMH interventions. The effects on work functioning, stress, and work-related fatigue after 3 months were analyzed using paired t tests and effect sizes. Results: One hundred and twenty-eight nurses and allied health professionals participated at pretest as well as posttest. Significant improvements were found on work functioning (p = 0.01) and work-related fatigue (p < 0.01). Work functioning had relevantly improved in 30% of participants. A small meaningful effect on stress was found (Cohen d = .23) in the participants who had logged onto an EMH intervention (20%, n = 26). Conclusion: The EMH approach to WHS improves the work functioning and mental health of nurses and allied health professionals. However, because we found small effects and participation in the offered EMH interventions was low, there is ample room for improvement.
