With rapid economic growth, the urban environment has created a problem of human physical and mental illness. In order to solve these problems, urban forests have emerged as a way to mitigate the environmental risks through improving the polluted environment of the city and improve the quality of life. As the urban forests have expanded, the school forests movement has also been taking an important place recently. The study focused on the performance of school forests by comparing the perceptions among teachers and students about their functions. The questionnaire was composed of 4 questions concerning human matters, 10 questions for space recognition, 4 questions for thermal environment, 2 questions for health promotion, and 20 total questions for composition of survey items. The reliability of the school forest function, number of tree planting areas and quantities, the harmony of the planting, and the satisfaction of the school forest were analyzed in the questionnaire conducted by the school members. Although it does not recognize school forests, it has a positive response to the green space that is built outdoors. It is considered that outdoor education and environmental education are sufficient in school forests and green spaces. The results showed that the outdoor green space was more satisfactory when compared with the general school. Teachers and students' preferences were similar to 'seasonal changes' and' trees of various colors and shapes'. The reliability analysis between each item shows that the coefficient for cronbach's ${\alpha}$ was .700 to .834. The purpose of this study is to identify the perception of forest function among school forest members and to utilize them as a basic data in the future.

Light quality is a common environmental factor which influences the metabolism of biochemical substances in algae and leads to the response of algal growth and development. Pyropia yezoensis is a kind of economic macroalgae that naturally grows in the intertidal zone where the light environment changes dramatically. In the present study, P. yezoensis thalli were treated under white light (control) and monochromatic lights with primary colors (blue, green, and red) for 14 days to explore their physiological response to light quality. During the first 3 days of treatment, P. yezoensis grew faster under blue light than other light qualities. In the next 11 days, it showed better adaptation to green light, with higher growth rate and photosynthetic capacity (reflected by a higher rETRmax = 61.58 and Ek = 237.78). A higher non-photochemical quenching was observed in the treatment of red light than others for 14 days. Furthermore, the response of P. yezoensis to light quality also results in the difference of photosynthetic pigment contents. The monochromatic light could reduce the synthesis of all pigments, but the reduction degree was different, which may relate to the spectral absorption characteristics of pigments. It was speculated that P. yezoensis adapted to a specific or changing light environments by regulating the synthesis of pigments to achieve the best use of light energy in photosynthesis and premium growth and metabolism.

Recently the technology of green growth became more important role among the problems of running out of fossil fuels and global warming. To procure a new growth power combined with energy and green growth, a lot of investment for wind power, photovoltaics system, fuel cell and biofuel expanded day by day. Among these, wing power has a merit of a highly economic and no discharge of toxic substance. These days government and industrial companies actively support the development of wind power technology with lots of investment, but domestic related education and equipment still stay in research level when it is compared with foreign advanced countries which lead the wind power technology. Therefore to expand the base of basic skill required in the related industrials and to advance technology, we are in the situation to be needed a development of a new curriculum and educational equipment which is analogous with the actual industrial system. In this paper a development of a new educational equipment for the learning of turbine control is introduced. This educational equipment has been developed for students to get easy understanding for the theory of wind turbine control. And finally to demonstrate the effect of the use of the developed equipments and curriculum a questionnaire carried out.
The antibacterial activity of metallic nanoparticles (NPs), especially silver (Ag), has been investigated during the course of time in various chemical reactions for antibiotics free agents. Green synthesis of metallic NPs using either microorganisms or plant-extracts has appeared as a simple and replacement to chemical and physical methods. The synthesizing of these NPs through ecofriendly methods signifies an exceedingly applicable approach for offering economical, preferring scalability and possessing negligible ecological influences. Essential-oils are among the subordinate metabolites of plants and their antibacterial anti-inflammatory characteristics have been investigated widely and are commonly attained from the aromatic plants. The usage of essential-oils as reducing agents in biosynthesizing of Ag NPs bring together the interaction of a vital antibacterial agent that simplify the nucleation and growth process within the NPs formation. This review article is offering a progressive process of Ag NPs synthesis using essential oils along with proposing the most applicable formation mechanisms and their antibacterial activities.

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of foliar endophytic fungi and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) on plant community structure in experimental microcosms containing an assemblage of five species of plants (Oenothera odorata, Plantago asiatica, Trifolium repens, Isodon japonicas and Aster yomena). Leaves of Sasa borealis, Potentilia fragarioides, and Viola mandshurica were collected in Chungbuk, Korea. Endophytic fungi were isolated from the surface sterilized leaves and identified to species level using molecular and morphological techniques. Four isolates of the endophytic fungi were inoculated to the leaves of host plants in the microcosms. Also, three species of AMF spores were extracted from pure cultures and the mixture of the three species inoculated to the roots of the plants. After four months of growth in a green house, effects of both symbiotic fungi on plant species diversity, community composition and productivity were examined. The plant species diversity showed significant differences with inoculation of the symbiotic fungi. Results indicate that AMF significantly affect plant productivity and plant community structure.
This study was carried out to investigate the plant growth of several Carex L. plants according to light intensity and soil depth planted on a green wall and roof, and to show basic data for the use of Carex L. plants in various forms. The temperature was dropt more in the green container compared to the normal especially during the genial weather from August to September. The plant growth of Carex testaceae, Carex oshimensis Evergold, and Carex ciliatomarginata Nakai was excellent at light intensity from 0 to $1799\;{\mu}M{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$, and that of Carex siderosticta Hance, Carex flagellifera Bronzita, Carex ornithopoda Variegata, and Carex morrowii Ice Dance were best in lower light intensity from 0 to $786\;{\mu}M{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$. The leaf color of the plants changed vividly as the light intensity grew lower and the visible value of the plants increased. There must be more considerations about the pattern changes in additory experiments. The water content in the soil depth of 10 cm was maintained higher than the other treatments because of no drainage layer. Most Carex L. plants grew excellent in the soil depth of 10 cm. However, Carex oshimensis Evergold, Carex siderosticta Hance, and Carex testaceae showed the best plant growth in soil depth 20 cm, and Carex morrowii Ice Dance and Carex ciliatomarginata Nakai in soil depth of 40 cm. Therefore, Carex L. plants could be recommended as materials for green roof because they also grew well in light soil depth of 10~20 cm.
The concern of green building has been increased with an environmental problem or a rising oil price by industrialization. Therefore offices, schools and some buildings are expected to acquire the green building certification increasingly, but the information such as a process of green building certification, the state of certificated buildings, a score as specific clauses on green building certification is to seek. For not only school facilities make an effect to an student's learning achievement, but is the place where adolescents in a period of growth almost spend their life, eco-friendly school facilities is absolutely required. For this reason, systematizing the information related with the green building certification is to be needed in school field as well Therefore the effort to systematize certification management of eco-friendly school and provide information of certificated building, certification application procedure and sources related with certification for convenience is needed. Also reference material to decrease an inefficient time and expenses and to systematize certification evaluation is be able to beneficial. On the study, for such as the purpose above-mentioned, as the appraisal standard with 12 selected schools randomly is arranged. Based on the assessed scores table, features or something in common as a cause of the score change between preliminary and main certification is to be classified and anaylized.
As Gangwon-do Province needs an environmental-friendly alternative tourism according to low carbon green growth, this study analyzes specialized fields in green health industry, selects seven specialized fields in green health industry that is fit to Gangwon-do Province, and suggests a development strategy by conducting recognition surveys on preference and impotence of the specialized fields. Surveys and interviews are conducted of 106 students at Green Health Industry Education Center which is operating by Kwandong University and 84 persons who work at medical institutions and tourism related companies in Ganwondo. The surveys and interviews were completed from November 5 to November 19 in 2010, determined factors through a factor analysis when they have many questions, and analyzed by using SPSS 14.0. Out of the seven specialized fields, rest & recuperation field is highly recognized. In order to have competitive edge compared to other self-governing provinces, Ganwon-do Province should prioritize rest and recuperation field. A healthcare program in the green health industry specific to Ganwon-do Province includes hot springs and spa programs as a priority. Gangwon-do's hot springs are deemed to be competitive resources as global medical tourists prefer spa and sauna healthcare programs, while the province promotes its spring resources and builds medical tourism infrastructures. Gangwon-do Province can promote a medical tourism industry that is well suitable for the strength and characteristics of the province. It might pursue oriental medicine therapy tourism, which is related to a recuperating medical service that uses both oriental and western medicine. It can also run such programs as forest bathing (oxygen road), spring and spa, and sea water treatment, which are the specialized fields in green health industry with respect to recreation and healthcare.

In this paper, a new approach to the automation of the cultivation in a green house is suggested and a practical automatic control cultivation system is implemented. To automatically control and optimize the very nonlinear and time-varying growth of farm products, a hybrid strategy(FECA, Fuzzy Expertized Control Algorithm) is proposed which serially combines a fuzzy expert system with the fuzzy logic control. The fuzzy expert system(FMES, Fuzzy Model-based Expert System is intended to overcome the non-linearity of the growth of farm products. The part of fuzzy controller(FLC, Fuzzy Logic Controller) is incorporated to solve the time-variance of the growth of farm products. Finally, the efficiency and the effectiveness of the implemented agricultural automation system is presented through the cultivation results.
