하이브리드 렌더링을 위한 단말기 성능분석 방법 (Device Performance Analysis Method for Hybrid Rendering)

  • 하이브리드 렌더링 모델에서 적절한 수준을 결정하기 위한 단말기 성능분석 방법을 제안한다. 최근에 하나의 물체를 이루는 여러 개의 폴리곤에 각각 다른 음영법을 함께 적용하는 하이브리드 렌더링 모델을 제안하였다. 하이브리드 렌더링 모델에서 고로 음영과 평면 음영이 적용될 폴리곤 수는 그래픽 콘텐츠가 실행되는 단말기의 성능과 상황에 맞도록 계산되어져야 한다. 따라서 현재의 단말기 환경에 대한 성능 분석과 사용자의 선호도 등을 고려하여 자동적으로 실행 가능한 적절한 메시의 수와 고로 음영과 평면 음영의 정도를 계산해 내는 방법을 제안하였다. 하이브리드 렌더링의 개념자체는 간단하지만 실행 환경에 따라 여러 단계의 해상도를 자동적으로 가질 수 있으므로 실시간 렌더링 시간을 줄일 수 있는 효율적인 대안 방법이 될 수 있다. 또한 다양한 단말기 환경에서 게임과 같은 3차원 그래픽 콘텐츠의 실시간 적응 서비스에 적용할 수 있다.

그래픽 영상에서 입체감과 색채 속성의 연관성 관련 연구 (Correlations between Stereoscopic Perception and Colour Attributes in Graphic Images)

  • 디지털 영상 분야의 디지털 테크놀로지 발전은 다양한 형태의 미디어 환경을 만들어 내며 급격하게 변모하고 있다. 이러한 영상분야는 멀티미디어 테크놀로지의 급격한 발전을 통해 방송 영상 처리 기술 분야에서는 보다 실감나는 영상을 제공하기 위해 지속적인 발전을 하고 있으며 평면 화질 향상의 요구는 거의 충족되어 기술적 포화상태에 이르게 되었다. 현재 평면 화질에서는 3D 입체 영상 화질에서 충족시킬 수 없는 시각피로 분야에 대한 자유성 및 대중성을 갖고 있다는 장점을 보유하고 있으며 보완 작업 기술 분야로는 평면 화질에서의 입체감 향상 기술이라고 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 평면 디스플레이에서 제공되는 그래픽 영상을 대상으로 색채 속성과의 연관성을 알아보고자 입체감 관련 실험을 진행하고 이를 분석하였다. 실험에 사용된 색채 속성으로는 색상, 밝기, 채도를 차등적으로 그래픽 영상에 적용하여 입체감이 가장 큰 요인에 대해 분석하고 아노바 분산분석을 통해 교호작용을 검증하였다. 본 연구에서 진행된 실험결과를 분석하여 입체감과 관련 있는 색채 요인의 유의미 여부를 정의하고 그래픽 영상 처리 시 입체감 향상을 위한 색채 조절 방안을 제시한다.

이족 보행로봇의 균형추 형태에 따른 안정성 해석 (A Stability Analysis of a Biped Walking Robot about Balancing Weight)

  • This paper is concerned with a balancing motion formulation and control of the ZMP (Zero Moment Point) for a biped-walking robot that has a prismatic balancing weight or a revolute balancing weight. The dynamic stability equation of a walking robot which have a prismatic balancing weight is conditionally linear but a walking robot's stability equation with a revolute balancing weight is nonlinear. For a stable gait, stabilization equations of a biped-walking robot are modeled as non-homogeneous second order differential equations for each balancing weight type, and a trajectory of balancing weight can be directly calculated with the FDM (Finite Difference Method) solution of the linearized differential equation. In this paper, the 3dimensional graphic simulator is developed to get and calculate the desired ZMP and the actual ZMP. The operating program is developed for a real biped-walking robot IWRⅢ. Walking of 4 steps will be simulated and experimented with a real biped-walking robot. This balancing system will be applied to a biped humanoid robot, which consist legs and upper body, as a future work.

ACC 차량의 동특성 해석을 위한 VR 시뮬레이션 시스템 개발 (Development of the VR Simulation System for the Dynamic Characteristics of the Adaptive Cruise Controlled Vehicle)

  • Nowadays, to analyze the dynamic characteristics of the automotive driving system, the computer simulation linked up with VR(Virtual Reality) technology is treated as the useful method with the improvement of computing ability. In this paper, the VR simulation system has been developed to investigate the driving characteristics of the ASV(Advanced Safety Vehicle) equipped with an ACC(Adaptive Cruise Control) system. For the purpose, VR environment which generates 3D graphic and sound information of the vehicle, the road, the facilities, and the terrain has been organized for the driving reality. Mathematical models of vehicle dynamic analysis including the ACC model have been constructed for computer simulation. The ACC modulates the throttle and brake functions to regulate the vehicle speed so that vehicles could keep proper spacing. Also, the real-time simulation algorithm synchronizes vehicle dynamic simulation with the graphic rendering. With the developed VR simulation system, simple scenarios are applied to analyze the dynamic characteristics. It is shown that the VR simulation system could be useful to evaluate the adaptive cruise controlled vehicle on various driving conditions.

한글 캘리그라피를 이용한 티셔츠 디자인의 표현에 관한 연구 (A study on the expression of t-shirt design using Hangeul calligraphy)

  • Interest and desire for analogue emotion increased with the dazzling development of digital technology. Especially, as analogue emotion got grafted in the design field, analysis through various expression media is being done. This study seeks to propose design of t-shirt using unique advantage of Hangeul calligraphy that can satisfy the modern flow and pattern design's various expressions. Calligraphy is being used in various fields such as advert, package, logo, movie poster, signboard, graphic design, calligraphy and abstract painting. Formative yet effective in readability and conveying meaning as it's expressed in letters, calligraphy is a field of attention with its contribution in extending the new design area. As a method of the study, altogether 8 pieces of t-shirts were proposed through related preceding research, literary research, co-work with calligraphy author, computer graphic program, and heat transfer. As such, the t-shirt designs which were created by suggesting various design and using traditional materials like calligraphy, can be used as novel and sensual factor, where one can get a glimpse at the potential of development as traditional fashion product.

A New Methodology for Advanced Gas Turbine Engine Simulation

  • Gas turbine engine simulation in terms of transient, steady state performance and operational characteristics is complex work at the various engineering functions of aero engine manufacturers. Especially, efficiency of control system design and development in terms of cost, development period and technical relevance implies controlling diverse simulation and identification activities. The previous engine simulation has been accomplished within a limited analysis area such as fan, compressor, combustor, turbine, controller, etc. and this has resulted in improper engine performance and control characteristics because of limited interaction between analysis areas. In this paper, we propose a new simulation methodology for gas turbine engine performance analysis as well as its digital controller to solve difficulties as mentioned above. The novel method has particularities of (ⅰ) resulting in the integrated control simulation using almost every component/module analysis, (ⅱ) providing automated math model generation process of engine itself, various engine subsystems and control compensators/regulators, (ⅲ) presenting total sophisticated output results and easy understandable graphic display for a final user. We call this simulation system GT3GS (Gas Turbine 3D Graphic Simulator). GT3GS was built on both software and hardware technology for total simulation capable of high calculation flexibility as well as interface with real engine controller. All components in the simulator were implemented using COTS (Commercial Off the Shelf) modules. In addition, described here includes GT3GS main features and future works for better gas turbine engine simulation.

A few design software products have been commercialized. Generally, they are trying to make an interface between various design methods and analysis software. Optimization is a representative design method. The products are investigated and compared for the aspects of user convenience and algorithm performance. A few popular products are selected. Graphic user interface (GUI) is compared for the function and efficiency. The performances of the optimization algorithms are tested by mathematical and engineering examples. The results are discussed.

DGA Interpretation of Oil Filled Transformer Condition Diagnosis

  • DGA is one of the most recent techniques developed to diagnose the fault condition on oil filled insulation transformers. There are more than 6 known different methods of DGA fault interpretation technique and so there is the likelihood that they may vary in their interpretations. A series of combined interpretation methods that can determine the power transformer condition faults in one assessment is therefore needed. This paper presents a computer program- based system developed to combine four DGA assessment techniques; Rogers Ratio Method, IEC Basic Ratio Method, Duval Triangle method and Key Gas Method. An easy to use Graphic User Interface was designed to give a visual display of the four techniques. The result shows that this assessment method can increase the accuracy of DGA methods by up to 20% and the no prediction result had been reduced down to 0%.

Condensation Prevention Performance Assessment Taking Into Account Thermal Insulation Performance Degradation Due to Aging for Apartment Housing

  • Purpose: The current study analyzed trends in thermal insulation performance with aging, and condensation characteristics caused by the former. Method: Thermal insulation and condensation prevention performance of an architecture were assessed using Temperature Difference Ration Inside, or TDRi. Subjects of this quantitative analysis in thermal insulation performance change due to aging included recently constructed apartments and aged apartments older than 40 years. Time series comparison and analysis were conducted to observed changes in the thermal insulation performance and condensation characteristics. Result: Analysis showed that wall insulation performance degraded with aging regardless of fortified insulating material usage or insulating material type, which caused increased danger of condensation. In addition, when fortified insulating material was installed on the connection between the walls, insulation performance degradation was lower compared to cases in which fortified materials were not used. In all cases from 1 to 10, the rate of thermal insulation performance degradation increased after 20 years of aging.
