온라인 대학원 학습자의 학업 스트레스, LMS 활용만족도, 사회적 지지가 학업지속의도에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Academic Stress, LMS Utilization Satisfaction and Social Support on Academic Persistence among Online Graduate Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine academic stress, social support and learning management system(LMS) utilization satisfaction of learners attending online graduate schools and understand the factors influencing their academic persistence. Methods: The participants were students of K online graduate school and the data of 143 students, in total, were collected from April to May in 2019. For data analysis, frequency analysis, x2 test, t-test, F-test, Pearson's correlation and multiple regression analysis were conducted using SPSS ver. 23. Results: Academic stress, social support, and LMS utilization satisfaction were associated with academic persistence of online graduate students. The multiple regression analysis of the factors influencing academic persistence showed that the model was significant (p<.001) with an explanatory power of 23% and that significant factors influencing it were academic stress (β=-.23, p=.002), LMS utilization satisfaction (β=.31, p<.001) and jobs (β=.23, p=.002). Conclusion: Although the online graduate students' level of academic persistence was high, it is required to develop strategies to alleviate their academic stress and increase LMS utilization rate in order to increase their persistence to academic success. In addition, it is necessary to provide the foundation on which the utilization of major knowledge regarding jobs can be enhanced, reflecting the characteristics of online graduate students. Furthermore, this study is expected to contribute to the extension of professional and advanced education in response to social needs by developing a variety of online high education learning systems beyond time and space.

이공계열 대학원생 핵심역량 진단도구 개발 및 타당화 연구: A연구중심대학 사례 (Development and Validation of Core Competency Scale For Graduate Students in the Field of Science and Engineering)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the core competencies of graduate students at A research university in the context of graduate education in science and engineering, and to develop and validate a diagnostic tool to measure them. To achieve the research objectives, first, 6 factors and 18 sub-competencies of core competencies were derived based on a review of domestic and foreign studies, cases of excellent research-centered overseas universities, and interviews with members of A University. Second, a theoretical model was constructed by deriving behavioral indicators based on the core competencies and sub-competencies, and a preliminary survey was conducted on 188 graduate students of University A to verify the statistical validity of the theoretical model. Results of exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, the core competencies of graduate students at A research university consisted of 6 factors, 16 sub-competencies, and 77 items. Specifically, it included "Independent research capability(13 items)", "Social Entrepreneurship(10 items)", "Academic agility(15 items)", "Ingenious Challenges(15 items)", "Collegial Collaboration(9 items)", and "Mueunjae leadership(15 items)". This study contributes to the development of theories related to core competencies of graduate students in science and engineering, and has practical significance as a basis for a data-driven competency-based graduate education system.

구조방정식모형을 이용한 두뇌한국(BK)21의 학생만족도 성과 분석 (SEM for the Effect Analysis of Brain Korea 21 on Students Satisfaction)

  • Brain Korea(BK) 21 is a plan launched in 2000 to strengthen the competitiveness of research and education quality of universities in Korea. In this paper, we evaluate BK21 plan using both ACSI and SEM in terms of the satisfaction level of graduate students in various dimension. The results of our study indicate that in general BK21 has a significant impact on the satisfaction of the graduate students involved in BK21. It turns out that the scholarship is the only one component which is positively related to the students' satisfaction while the industry-university cooperation system and the international conference attendance and Journal publication have negative relationship with satisfaction. In addition, it appears that those who graduated from other college and participate in BK21 tend to be more satisfied than those who admitted to the graduate program from the same college. Our study results imply that some strategies for BK21 need to be modified and effectively implemented in order to increase the number of applicant of good quality and level up the satisfaction level of the graduate students in Korea.

물리치료 전공 대학생들의 정형도수 물리치료 분야의 취업 및 진로 선호도 조사 (A Study on the Employment and Career Preferences of College Students Majoring in Physical Therapy for Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy)

  • Background: This study aimed to determine the employment and career preferences for orthopedic manual physical therapy for college students majoring in physical therapy. Methods: The subjects were 267 college students majoring in physical therapy, and a survey was conducted both online and offline. The collected data were statistically processed to analyze employment and career according to the general characteristics. Results: Interest, temporal satisfaction of education, and the need for special lectures on orthopedic manual physical therapy were significantly different by sex. There were significant differences in sex, grade, and age with regard to whether they go to graduate school related to orthopedic manual physical therapy and whether to study more about orthopedic manual physical therapy. Conclusions: The educational curriculum must be reinforced for students through systematic curriculum reorganization reflecting their preference for orthopedic manual physical therapy.

시험불안척도, 상태-특성불안 척도, 간이정신진단검사를 이용한 한의학과 대학생의 시험불안 특성 (Test Anxiety Investigation of Students in Oriental Medicine College by Using Korea's version-Test Anxiey Inventory, State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, Symptom Check List-90-Revision)

  • Objective : The aim of this study is to investigate and measure the Test-anxiety of college students in OO Oriental Medicine by using Korea's version-Test Anxiey Inventory(K-TAI-K), State-Trait Anxiety Inventory(STAI), Symptom Check List-90-Revision(SCL-90-R), etc. Methods : We studied 181 students who being at OO College of Oriental Medicine in second semester, 2007 We used some questionaries like K-TAI-K, STAI, SCL-90-R , College Life Satisfacaion, Life Event Questionnaire. Results and Conclusions : 1.141 persons(83,43%) of students feel the largest test anxiety before test. 18 persons(9.94%) of students feel the largest test anxiety after test. 2.The 1st grade students of preparatory course and 4th grade students of regular course have the lowest score in State Anxiety Inventory and obsessive-compulsive of SCL-90-R. The 2nd grade students of regular course have the lowest score in State Anxiety Inventory and obsessive-compulsive of SCL-90-R 3. Students who failed in test one time have the lowest score , and who failed in test more than two times have the highest score in K-TAl-K Students who failed one time in grade promotion more than two times showed high score in second K-TAI-K. 4. The higher grade, the lower score in College Life Satisfaction. The scores of College Life Satisfaction have negative correlations with those of K-TAI-K, STAI SCL-90-R except phobic anxiety, 5. The scores of Life Event Questionnaire have positive correlations with those of K-TAI-K, STAI and SCL-90-R except phobic anxiety. 6. The scores of K-TAl-K have positive correlations with those of STAI, SCL-90-R, College Life Satisfaction and Life Event Questionnaire. A correlation coefficient of obsessive-compulsive scale is highest, anxiety scale is second, interpersonal sensitivity scale is third, depression scale is fourth high among the scales of SCL-90-R.

일부 대학생의 구강건강관련요인이 구강보건지식, 태도, 실천에 미치는 영향 (Effect of oral health-related factors on oral health knowledge, attitude, and practice of college students)

  • Objectives: The objectives of this study were to investigate the effects of oral health-related factors on the oral health knowledge, attitude, and practice of students of the Department of Dental Hygiene major, Health-related major, General major, and to provide primary data to improve the oral care ability of university students. Methods: After institutional review board approval, the study was conducted from May 15 to December 1, 2017. All 363 university students in Busan completed a questionnaire. In total, 332 questionnaires were analyzed. Thirty-one cases were excluded due to unreasonable responses. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 24.0. Results: Analysis of the factors related to knowledge, attitude, and practice of oral health according to the major field of study of the respondents indicated that students in the Dental Hygiene major demonstrated significantly better results. Conclusions: It is necessary to determine a way to manage the oral health of university students. In addition, voluntary participation of universities to improve oral health of university students is desirable. It is also necessary to establish national health policies and a national health care education curriculum for university students.

서울지역 대학 기숙사생의 식습관 및 영양서비스 요구도 (Dietary Habits and Demands for Nutrition Service of University Dormitory Residents in Seoul Area)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the dietary habits and demand for nutrition service of university dormitory residents. Out of 450 questionnaires distributed to the undergraduate and graduate students residing in a university dormitory, 335(74.4%) returned and 265(58.8%) were analyzed. The analyzed sample included 140 males(52.8%) and 125 females(47.2%). The number of undergraduate and graduate students were 183(69.1%) and 82(30.9%), respectively. Male and undergraduate students tend to more frequently use dormitory foodservice than the respective counterpart. About 21% of respondents skipped breakfast everyday and almost 2/3 of respondents skipped breakfast more often than $3{\sim}4$ times a week. The most often chosen reason for skipping meals was 'lack of time' for lunch and dinner as well as breakfast. Graduate students tend to drink coffee more often than undergraduate students. Male students were more likely to drink carbonated drinks and alcohol compared with female students. Over half(59%) of respondents were taking multivitamins and mineral supplements. About 80% of respondents perceived their health average or above. New residents having moved in to the dormitory less than a semester before tend to perceive their heath status worse than the residents having lived longer in the dormitory. The demand for nutrition service was high as shown by the high percentage of respondents willingness to receive the service: 76% for nutrition assessment service and 63% for nutrition counseling service. Such demand did not differ between males and female respondents. However, graduate students were more willing to participate in nutrition counseling service than undergraduates.

대학생 연줄망 측정을 위한 척도 개발 (Development of Scale for College Students' Social Network)

  • 본 연구는 대학생들의 연줄망을 측정하는 도구개발을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 문헌고찰, 전문가집단의 회의, 대학생을 대상으로 한 면대면 심층 인터뷰 및 두 차례의 사전조사를 통해 연줄망의 관계적, 구조적, 기능적 영역의 개념을 도출하고 25개의 예비문항을 개발하였다. 본 조사를 통한 최종결과로 연줄망의 관계적 영역 2개, 구조적 영역 7개, 기능적 영역 14개 등 총 23개 문항의 척도를 개발하였다. 연줄망의 기능적 영역에 대한 척도는 탐색적 요인분석을 통해 정서적 경제적 영적 사회관계적 기능 등 네 가지의 하위요인으로 구성되었으며, 전체 Cronbach's ${\alpha}$값이 0.716으로 만족할 만한 신뢰도와 타당도를 나타내었다. 본 연구에서 도출된 대학생들의 연줄망 측정도구는 대학생들이 처한 다양한 사회적 문제들을 가시화 하는 동시에 대학생들의 특정한 욕구를 해소해 나가는 전략을 수립하는 데에 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

우리나라 중학교 청소년의 우울과 관련요인 (Factors related to Depression in Korean Middle School Adolescents)

  • Purpose: This study was aimed to identify factors related with depression among boys and girls in Korean middle school adolescents. Methods: This study used the data from the 2007 annual survey of youth health behaviors conducted by the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention between the period of 2007/9/1 and 2007/9/22 (with the extension of 2007/10/1 and 2007/11/3). The target number of this study was 21,047 male and 18,424 female students all in the age group of middle school 1st grade and 3rd grade. Results: Depression of middle school adolescents was 33.4% for male students, 43.8% for female students, 38.3% in overall. With regard to the relationship between the demographic characteristics and the health behavior, both male and female students felt more depressed when they had more stress, followed by the cases with stimulant intakes and chronic diseases. For male students, higher level of physical activity was associated with greater level of the depression. For female students, living with only one parent or other person seem to cause more depression. Conclusion: Depression of middle school adolescents requires a special attention from the family, the school and society in general to find out and eliminate the root of these symptoms.

대학생의 자살생각에 영향을 미치는 요인 - 위험 및 완화요인을 중심으로 - (Factors Affecting Suicide Ideation among University Students)

  • Objectives: This study aimed to investigate life stressors and mitigating factors affecting suicide ideation amongst university students in Korea. Methods: Study participants were recruited online from one of the universities in Seoul. The total of 794 samples were included in the final dataset. First, correlation analyses were performed among life stressors, depression and mitigating factors. Second, factorial analysis was conducted to explore different dimensions of he life stressors experienced by the university students. Finally, we used logistic regression to find out the relationship between university students' sub-stressors or mitigating factors, and suicide ideation. Results: Three sub-stressors were identified - interpersonal relationship stress, academic stress and economic stress. All of these stressors were significantly associated with suicide ideation. However, none of them significantly predicted suicide ideation controlling for depression. All mitigating factors - health related behaviors, social support and leisure activities - were statistically significant and negatively related to depression, yet only social support had a significantly negative association with suicide ideation. Conclusions: In conclusion, Social support is the most important factor which may affect suicide ideation among university students in Korea.
