Validity and Reliability of the Turkish Version of the COVID Stress Scale

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to assess the Turkish adaptation of the COVID Stress Scale (CSS) on the basis of determining the stress caused by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, and to test its validity and reliability. Methods: The English CSS was translated into Turkish using forward and backward translation. Data were collected online from 360 participants. Construct validity was evaluated using confirmatory factor analysis, exploratory factor analysis, and content validity. Pearson product-moment correlation, Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient, and test-retest methods were used to evaluate reliability. Results: The Turkish version of the CSS has 36 items consistent with the original scale and has five factors: COVID danger and contamination, socioeconomic consequences of COVID, COVID xenophobia, traumatic stress due to COVID, and compulsive checking for COVID. The construct validity of the Turkish version of the CSS was verified by the adjusted goodness of fit index > .85, and comparative fit index > .95. The content validity index of each item was 91%. The corrected item-total correlations of the scale ranged from .51 to .89. Internal consistency was reliable, with a Cronbach's α of .93. Conclusion: The Turkish version of the CSS is valid and reliable. It can be used as a measurement tool for the assessment of COVID-related stress.

  • The objective of the study is to develop weather generators for daily rainfall and small pan evaporation and to test the applicability with recorded data. Daily rainfall forecasting model(DRFM) was developed that uses a first order Markov chain to describe rainfall seque- nces and applies an incomplete Gamma function to predict the amount of precipitation. Daily evaporation forecasting model(DEFM) that adopts a normal distribution function to generate the evaporation for dry and wet days was also formulated. DRFM and DEFM were tested with twenty year weather data from eleven stations using Chi-square and Kolmogorov and Smirnov goodness of fit tests. The test results showed that the generated sequences of rainfall occurrence, amount of rainfall, and pan evaporation were statistically fit to recorded data from eleven, seven, and seven stations at the 5% level of significance. Generated rainfall data from DRFM were very close in frequency distri- bution patterns to records for stations all over the country. Pan evaporation for rainy days generated were less accurate than that for dry days. And the proposed models may be used as tools to provide many mathematical models with long-term daily rainfall and small pan evaporation data. An example is an irrigation scheduling model, which will be further detailed in the paper.

유방자가검진 교육이 자가검진 행위에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Education on Breast Self-Examination Practices)

  • Breast self-examination is the most effective and easiest way for women to increase the responsible consciousness about their health. The purpose of this study was to test the variables impacted to promote breast self-examination practice. The research design used in this study was a nonequevalent control group of a non-synchronized design. The sample that was assembled consisted of 124 women. A purposive sample consisted of 124 women. Each subject was given to assessed on the following the demographic data related to the breast self-examination, knowledge of self-examination, accuracy, in performing self-examination, self-efficacy about breast cancer and breast self-examination, and the number of subjects who found a mass. The result of this study may be summarized as follows : 1. To examine the theretical model fit to the data, chi square test statistics and goodness of fit index were identified($\chi$$^2$=2.30, df=2, GFI=0.99, AGFI=0.94 RMSR=0.02, NFI=0.99, NNFI=0.99, Critical Number=439). 2. The direct effects of education of breast self-examination were knowledge, self-efficacy, accuracy, number finding a mass. But the Indirect effect of education on breast self-examination was frequency of breast self-examination. 3. Knowlege, as direct paths to the breast self-examination practices, was removed in the theoretical model. The parsimonious best fit model included self-efficacy, accuracy, the number finding mass, frequency of breast self-examination practices. 4. The final model produced a chi-square=5.58(p=0.35) with df=5, and GFI =0.99, AGFI =0.94, RMSR=0.03, NFI=0.99, NNFI=0.99, CN=339 indicating very a good fit. Based on the result of this study, education of breast self-examination is very effective for increasing the competency of the breast self-examination through the knowledge and self-efficacy. Resources to promote self-efficacy may be helpful to increase the frequency of self-examination because self-efficacy is a direct effect on it. These findings suggest the need to develop nursing strategy to promote the self-efficacy of breast self-examination.

청소년의 인권존중과 학교적응의 융합적 관계에서 자아존중감의 매개효과 (Mediating Effects of Self-esteem on the Convergent Relationship between Respect for Human Rights and School Adjustment of Adolescents)

  • 본 논문은 청소년의 인권존중과 학교적응의 융합적 관계에서 자아존중감의 매개효과를 검증하는 데 목적이 있다. 분석자료는 2016년 한국아동 청소년인권실태조사의 중학교 2학년 2,366명의 자료를 활용하였다. 구조방정식모형을 적용하여 모형 적합도를 검증하고, 부트스트랩을 적용하여 매개효과를 검증하였다. 분석결과, 연구모형의 적합도가 적합하였으며, 청소년의 인권존중과 학교적응의 융합적 관계를 자아존중감이 유의미하게 매개하였다. 즉, 청소년들이 인권존중 경험이 많을수록 자아존중감이 높고, 자아존중감이 높을수록 학교적응을 잘하고 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 본 연구 결과는 청소년의 학교적응도를 높이기 위해 교사에 대한 인권교육 강화, 인권존중과 자아존중감을 접목한 교육프로그램 개발 및 운영이 필요함을 시사한다.

지방공무원의 직무스트레스가 구강건강 삶의 질에 미치는 영향 (The effects of occupational stress on oral health impact profile (OHIP) in local government workers)

  • Objectives : This study looked at the relationship between occupational stress and the Oral Health Impact Profile (OHIP), to evaluate the effect of occupational stress-related factors. Methods : Data was obtained from a cross-sectional survey of 260 local officials in Gangwondo. The research comprised three questions relating to subjective oral symptoms, an occupational stress measurement tool and an oral health impact factor which was composed of questions. The data was analysed using t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation and path analysis in Amos. Results : Occupational stress had a positive correlation to drinking frequency, Oral symptoms had a negative correlation. And drinking frequency, smoking amount and occupational stress had a positive correlation to oral symptoms. It denoted that drinking frequency, occupational stress and oral symptoms had a negative correlation to OHIP. The path model had an excellent goodness of fit (p=0.07, namely p>0.05). Five 'goodness-of-fit indices' of the model were all above 0.9: GFI=0.987, AGFI=0.952, NFI=0.902, IFI=0.939, CFI=0.934), and its RMSEA was 0.045. Occupational stress and oral symptoms had a firsthand impact on OHIP. In addition, it affected OHIP through the parameters of oral symptoms. Occupational stress exercised a firsthand influence on drinking frequency, drinking frequency exercised a firsthand influence on smoking amount. Smoking amount had a firsthand impact on oral symptoms. Conclusions: Oral health education programs for the development of an improved oral hygiene environment through reduction in drinking and smoking also need to focus on relieving stress by improving workplace culture. In addition, due to good communication is required to reduce occupational stress caused by interpersonal conflict.

A Copula method for modeling the intensity characteristic of geotechnical strata of roof based on small sample test data

  • The joint probability distribution of uncertain geomechanical parameters of geotechnical strata is a crucial aspect in constructing the reliability functional function for roof structures. However, due to the limited number of on-site exploration and test data samples, it is challenging to conduct a scientifically reliable analysis of roof geotechnical strata. This study proposes a Copula method based on small sample exploration and test data to construct the intensity characteristics of roof geotechnical strata. Firstly, the theory of multidimensional copula is systematically introduced, especially the construction of four-dimensional Gaussian copula. Secondly, data from measurements of 176 groups of geomechanical parameters of roof geotechnical strata in 31 coal mines in China are collected. The goodness of fit and simulation error of the four-dimensional Gaussian Copula constructed using the Pearson method, Kendall method, and Spearman methods are analyzed. Finally, the fitting effects of positive and negative correlation coefficients under different copula functions are discussed respectively. The results demonstrate that the established multidimensional Gaussian Copula joint distribution model can scientifically represent the uncertainty of geomechanical parameters in roof geotechnical strata. It provides an important theoretical basis for the study of reliability functional functions for roof structures. Different construction methods for multidimensional Gaussian Copula yield varying simulation effects. The Kendall method exhibits the best fit in constructing correlations of geotechnical parameters. For the bivariate Copula fitting ability of uncertain parameters in roof geotechnical strata, when the correlation is strong, Gaussian Copula demonstrates the best fit, and other Copula functions also show remarkable fitting ability in the region of fixed correlation parameters. The research results can offer valuable reference for the stability analysis of roof geotechnical engineering.

Numerical simulation of shaking table tests on 3D reinforced concrete structures

  • The current paper presents the numerical blind prediction of nonlinear seismic response of two full-scale, three dimensional, one-story reinforced concrete structures subjected to bidirectional earthquake simulations on shaking table. Simulations were carried out at the laboratories of LNEC (Laboratorio Nacional de Engenharia Civil) in Lisbon, Portugal. The study was motivated by participation in the blind prediction contest of shaking table tests, organized by the challenge committee of the 15th World Conference on Earthquake Engineering. The test specimens, geometrically identical, designed for low and high ductility levels, were subjected to subsequent earthquake motions of increasing intensity. Three dimensional nonlinear analytical models were implemented and subjected to the input base motions. Reasonably accurate reproduction of the measured displacement response was obtained through appropriate modeling. The goodness of fit between analytical and measured results depended on the details of the analytical models.

The Limit Distribution and Power of a Test for Bivariate Normality

  • Testing for normality has always been a center of practical and theoretical interest in statistical research. In this paper a test statistic for bivariate normality is proposed. The underlying idea is to investigate all the possible linear combinations that reduce to the standard normal distribution under the null hypothesis and compare the order statistics of them with the theoretical normal quantiles. The suggested statistic is invariant with respect to nonsingular matrix multiplication and vector addition. We show that the limit distribution of an approximation to the suggested statistic is represented as the supremum over an index set of the integral of a suitable Gaussian Process. We also simulate the null distribution of the statistic and give some critical values of the distribution and power results.

Statistical Analysis of End-to-End Delay for VoIP Service in Mobile WiMAX Networks

  • Measurement of Quality of Service (QoS) parameters and its statistical analysis becomes a key issue for Mobile WiMAX service providers to manage the converged network efficiently and to support end-to-end QoS. In this paper, we investigate the population distribution of end-to-end one-way delay which is the most important QoS parameter in Mobile WiMAX networks. The samples are analyzed with Chi-Square Goodness-of-Fit test, Kolmogorov-Smirnov (K-S), and Anderson-Darling (A-D) test to verify the distribution of parent population. The relation with confidence level and the minimum number of sample size is also performed for logistic distribution. The statistical analysis is a promising approach for measuring the performance Mobile WiMAX networks.

  • This study considers find out best accelerated life testing and lifetime prediction of electrolytic capacitors. We proved about relation between failure and deterioration mechanism from last thesis. Beside we performed test that temperature and voltage press higher than allowance specification. Failure distribution acquired from those test. And wiebull function and Minitab program applied to accelerated constant and lifetime by means of calculation. At the result, goodness of fit affect to weibull function and acceleration factor therefore fitting is important factor in reliability testing.
