  • The purpose of this study was to verify the effects of developed assisting wear which maximize trunk(back) muscle's stretch-shortening effect during backswing and downswing for increasing golf ball carrying distance. Design and fabrication of assistive wear were performed based on the results of analyzed data of trunk EMG activity from the golf drive swings of elite professional male golfers during back swing and downswing phases. After the prototype of wear was produced, surface EMG and Flight scope tests were conducted to verify the effectiveness of the wear for increasing distance to the professional golfers. Results indicated that wearing trial showed significant longer carry distance than the non-wearing trial(p<.001). The carry distance of wearing trial showed an average 229 m compared to the non-wearing trial, the average 225 m. The swing with wearing also produced significantly faster ball speed than the trial without wearing(p<.05). Average 245 Km/h and 244 Km/h were produced for the swing with and without wearing trails, respectively. EMG results also indicated that the muscle activity of left psoas was significantly increased for wearing trial during downswing and near the impact. Thus, this may affect positively to increase club head speed. The activity of the left latissimus dorsi was dramatically increased during the final stage of swing. This generates elongation effect for longer follow-through and increased impulse between club and ball so eventually valid assistance to increase carry distance. Therefore, the developed assisting wear was proved to be effective tool for increasing golf ball carry distance with maximizing trunk(back) muscle's stretch-shortening effect during backswing and downswing.

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the ratio of carrie's and run's distance in golf running approach using 52° and 48° wedges. Method: 2 women's professional golfers from the LKPGA were given the running approach in the 5 m, 10 m, 15 m respectively. The variables were analyzed through a golf analyzer and actual measurement. Results: If you send 5 m with 52° and 48° wedges, the ball run about 5 m, 10 m respectively, if you carry 10 m with 52° and 48° wedges, the ball run about 10 m, 13 m respectively. And if you carry 15 m with 52° and 48° wedges, the ball run about 13 m, 15 m respectively. Conclusion: Based on the results, if you are confident in distance, if you choose the club properly and if you are confident, if you try to send the correct distance to the hole cup, then you will have a more confident approach, which will lead to better results.

  • Recently, while 3D sports game increases, the research that it recognizes the operation of the real user actively progresses. Most of all, the research about the golf is active. In this paper, the camera acquiring in a high-speed multi-exposure image measures the flight data of the golf ball through the image processing. While photographing, the high-speed camera, using this system, exposes an image at regular intervals. And line scan camera checks whether the golf ball passed or not. After the location information of the calculated golf ball calculates a speed and a direction by using the physical formula, it applies the golf simulation. After, this system is possible the measurement of the physical element of the spherical object.

  • In this paper, we propose the measurement camera system of flight data of golfball for the application of screen golf contents. The existing flight data extraction system that applied on the screen golf content divided plate is dependent on it. in this paper, the camera system install in the ceiling that is able to look at passing golf ball. And left-handed and left-handed bats in the clear of the restrictions. Using high-speed CCD camera is shooting the ball flying. Acquired image is calculated from the coordinates. The location information of the calculated golf ball calculates a speed and a direction by using the physical formula, it applies the golf contents. After this system is useful sports type contents baseball, soccer, tennis.

  • Less than 1 % directional error in the range of 5 meters in the green could cause a stroke or more. Although there are several reasons offsetting the direction of the golf ball, lie angle and sidespin effect are the most crucial factors of the putting game. Simple equation is conformed to the experimental results of the deviation of the directional error in all distance. Also, the experimental results of the putting robot show that there are significant side spin effects.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of the swissball exercise in combination with core muscle in beginner golfer. In general, the swiss ball exercise was related in the core muscle ability. Methods: The experiment was conducted with a total of 10 beginner golfer, and they were dicide into two groups: comparison group(n=5) and experimental group(n=5). In this research, the subjects of the comparison group performed the general matte exercise three times a week, for four weeks. The subjects of the experimental group performed the swiss ball exercise in combination with core muscle three times a week, for four weeks. Use the 7-iron and driver were measured head speed and distance of the comparison group and the experimental group, respectively. The collected data were analyzed by using the paired t-test and ANCOVA Results: The results of this study were as follows: 1) Swiss ball exercise in combination with core muscle revealed the significant improvements after corresponding exercise in golf performance capability. 2) Mat exercise was seen less better than the swiss ball exercises. Conclusion: This results suggested that it was improved the golfer shot performance of beginner proposes to see the Swiss combined movement.

  • Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) is one of the most effective method in design of golf clubs for determination of optimum shapes in short lead time. A new design of golf club drive with gas-filled titanium head has been carried out using two FEM softwares MARC and DYNA-3D. The main research work focuses on the decision of face thickness and the effect of filled gas pressure by analyzing the change of the kinematic energy of the ball during impact.

  • Golf clubs hit the ball, and golf balls fly with great speed and long distances due to the conflict. In this paper, the size of the momentum after collision of golf clubs and golf balls should seek. Also, the collision times and average force that served of golf clubs and golf balls are obtained. We know that the impulse acting body is equals the change in momentum of a body. And you can see the average force is constant force that the actual strength of a body to give the same impulse instead of force changing by the hour.

  • The objective of this study is to present management methods for Korean golf courses to achieve fast green that satisfies international golf tournament standards during an official golf tournament. The results of both the research and the comparative study on putting green management of 24 tournaments hosted in Korea and 12 tournaments hosted in overseas countries in 2002 are as follows: 1. As for the putting greens in Korean and foreign golf courses where official golf tournaments were held, Korean of official golf tournaments were mainly opened in two-green system golf courses contrary to the foreign cases, and the average size of the greens in Korean golf courses was shown to be greater than that of foreign golf courses to some extent, although there was no difference between the types of turf varieties. 2. Results have shown that unlike foreign golf courses, Korean golf courses were managing putting greens by using greens mowers mostly for general (non-tournament) management, and elaborate rolling attempts failed during official tournament flay week because of an insufficient number of rollers to be input. Therefore, Korean golf courses are required to make efforts to secure 21-inch working-behind greens mowers equipped with tournament bedknifes and 11 blades, which is the greens mowing equipment for professional tournaments, and rollers above all things in order to achieve fast green during tournament play week 3. In attempting to achieve green as fast as that of foreign golf courses, Korean golf courses need to consider the method of performing mowing at 3.0mm height or less with greens mowers for professional tournaments. This needs to be done more than two times, followed by a continuous practice of rolling for proper management.
