Giving behavior can be defined to be a behavior intended to benefit the society's charity works and public works via sharing one's financial resources. The determinants of giving behavior largely consist of sociodemographic factors, such as the income, age, gender, religion, education level, residential areas, and tax deduction policy, etc. This paper considers the income level, self-esteem, and perceived responsibility toward social welfare, as the major research variables. Statistical results, based on 2014 Korean Welfare Panel data, show that the income level and self-esteem have positive influence on participation intention in charitable giving. However, welfare responsibility has negative impact on participation intention. Second, household income was the only salient, negative factor for giving efforts defined as the amount of donation over income, implying that the higher income brackets are giving less money relative to their income level, than those with lower income level. Contrary to our expectation, self-esteem and welfare responsibility were not statistically significant explanatory variables.

The Library of Congress' proposal to license LC MARC database and the following debate over the proposal shows that the issue on ownership of bibliographic databases, which surfaced as a topic of concern in the international library community with the OCLC's a n.0, pplication for copyright of its databases in 1982, is not fading or dead into the 1990s. In particular, the way that technological developments are outpacing the ability of the relevant organizations and legal systems to make necessary adjustments is giving the library profession a warning that cooperative efforts for further development of the international library systems, such as the UBC program, might be seriously impeded without a swift and amicable agreement on the controversial 'database ownership' issue. Here, the purpose of this paper lies in discussing the 'database ownership' issue from a macro and long-term perspective, with emphasis on its potential impacts on, and implications for, international information flows. To the end, the specific questions covered in this paper include : 1) what are the major causes of the database ownership controversy? 2) what are the potential impacts of the database ownership issue on the library profession's cooperative efforts toward free bibliographic information flows at the international level? And finally, 3) what are the implications of the database ownership issue for the Korean Library Community, which is making efforts toward the establishment of a national library network in near future through linking various library automation systems.

Individual donors that are the social and financial base of organization finance are divided into prospect, current donors and lapsed donors. This study might be the first efforts in Korea, to reveal the characteristics and behavior of lapsed donors. We found that major reasons of giving lapse were financial inabilities and interest of other cause. However, many lapsed donors didn't give any more but moved to another nonprofit organization for donation. Moreover, their trust of ex-nonprofit organization has effected their decision to donate to other nonprofit organizations again or not. Therefore, donor services that improve donors' trust is important to maintain nonprofit sector' donor basis.

With the improvement of the web-technology, web-based cyber education is progressing from the text-based to the hyper-based including multimedia, and from one way of simply giving the contents to the learner to another way of providing mutual interaction between instructors and learners. There are several fields using the dynamic application and multimedia contents. RIA(Rich Internet Application), which. is the new paradigm of the web, provides clients with more effective and rich contents, combining the dynamic application and multimedia contents. With the existing web script language, a lot of time and efforts will be very needed to provide learners with various and rich contents. In this paper, we compare the efforts in developing the RIA based education system with the Non-RIA based education system, then experiment the characteristics of the RIA based education system

Purpose: As nonprofit organizations have made strides in international development, ensuring financial resources has become pivotal to determine what nonprofits strive for and how they perform with the budget generated without efforts for profit-making. The purpose of this research aims to investigate the determinants of donation intention that are affected by television fundraising campaigns in order to improve financial sustainability. This study applied the effects of emotional sympathy, economic value, accountability, relevance, and sustainability on donation intention. Research design, data, and methodology: This study collected data via an online survey by classifying respondents based on donation experiences and applied statistical analyses such as factor analysis, regression, and ANOVA. This study selected television fundraising campaigns aligned with criteria of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Results: The results of this study showed that emotional sympathy was a dominant variable regardless of previous donation experiences, while economic value was significant for inexperienced donors. Conclusions: The results provide implications to nonprofit organizations for fundraising as to what aspects need to be addressed in order to draw donors' motivation for giving behavior. Given efforts for successful implementation of development agenda, it is fundamental to establish financial sustainability of nonprofit organizations and build up public awareness.

Recently, the Korean government has been making efforts to achieve 'creative economy' based on science and technology. As part of these efforts, it has been promoted specific policies for innovation and performance enhancement of national R&D projects. They contains commercialization of research outcomes, technology transfer, technology based startup and support small and medium-sized businesses. The railroad transportation industry is a representative in the field of SOC and has own characteristics different from other industry areas. Especially, industry and market of railroad transportation are directly related to planning and implementation of government SOC policies. So in order to promoting commercialization of railroad transportation projects, it is very important to ensure consistency between government policies and R&D projects. In this paper, we investigate barriers of successful commercialization with typical researchers in the area of railroad transportation, and suggest problems and improvements of policy-based commercialization by giving specific examples.

In this research, the significance and practice on life of Dasan Jeong Yak-Young's family is reviewed. Articles, letter, poetry written by Dasan and research papers regarding to him are mainly referred for the research. Family life consciousness is divided into three sections in terms of family, food clothing and shelter life, and the economy of the family. Dasan's family life consciousness has been organized with self-management, temperance, thrift, sharing and giving for family and others. He emphasized practical efforts in daily life to realize sense of family life. First, Dasan sought self-managing and temperance as follows. He suggested attitude of careful speech and behavior, filial duty, peace within a family, reading, and training the body and mind including nice and independent temperament with being in good shape. Second, Dasan has been taught to practice the following to save money. It is important to be diligent, to live a simple life, to work hard on one's work, and to avoid extravagant behavior and heavy drinking. Third, Dasan emphasized to practice rational sharing and giving. It is to adapt to the environment, to live within one's means, to cope with difficult circumstances, not to have desire, and to practice giving. Dasan's family life consciousness includes the rules and values for implementing a welfare society. The welfare society is a society that shares good values and practices norms. In the future, the content of education should be developed to provide education about Dasan's family life consciousness. I hope this study can provide an opportunity that the moral teachings of Dasan can be handed down and practiced in relation to family life.

Pusan's reputation as the nation's most crowded city in terms of population density is attributable to its huge mountains which allow only small portion of residential area to its large population. Rapid increase of urban population on limited amount of land had naturally led its developments efforts to mountainous area giving rise to the concern of potential landslide. This study on urban Pusan and "Landslide Hazard Map" thereof is prepared in an attempt to avoid disasters created by landslide and also as a reference for city planners. The Map shows that the area covering 38% to 43% of urban Pusan has the potential for landslide. The study also shows that various civil works involving massive land excavation had been more direct cause of landslides in Pusan than such traditional factors as locations, ground slopes, rock types and topography of the area concerned.

The purpose of this paper is to give some crisis communication strategies for effective cooperation and coordination among the countries in global society. Based on the theoretical discussions, in this paper, five strategic recommendations toward improving crisis communication are offered as follows; First, it is necessary that a small, dynamic team for global crisis communication function be established among the nearby countries. Second, for understanding the neighboring country's crisis situation, it is needed that the common crisis communication organizations which play an important role of disseminating accurate information and giving the collaborative efforts in each country have to be made. Third, for effective crisis management, an appropriate infrastructure that includes open and effective communication channels among different levels and across organizations must be in place. Fourth, mass communication should fulfill a variety of functions in society and provide information, interpretation of events, and its influence, etc for cooperating and coordinating the crisis management. Fifth, to acquire a correct understanding of the bordering country's crisis and calamities, intercultural education program should be established in the crisis communication system.

The fact that Pyeongtaek Port is located ideally at the central point of the Yellow Sea's Economic Zone and it is very close to the metropolitan area of South Korea which occupies more than 50 percent of the total trade volume in terms of tonnage is providing a good prospect of development for the Port of Pyeongtaek. This study examines the perception of shippers in Kyonggi-do on the development of Pyeongtaek Port, giving some suggestions to the Pyeongtaek Port Authority. It begins with a description of the port such as current economic status, statistics on the economy, trade and investment regarding the Port of Pyeongtaek. According to a particular questionnaire survey conducted in December 2001, the major obstacles to the utilization of the port are as follows: a shortage of liner shipping routes, lack of container handling facilities including container terminal, crane etc., and port sales promotion activity. Therefore the port should make aggressive efforts to attract container cargoes to and from China by expanding port facilities, implementing effective marketing strategies, introducing a customs-free zone/free trade zone, and strengthening port sales etc.
