  • Since the release of Meta's Segment Anything Model (SAM), a large-scale vision transformer generation model with rapid image segmentation capabilities, several studies have been conducted to apply this technology in various fields. In this study, we aimed to investigate the applicability of SAM for water bodies detection and extraction using the QGIS Geo-SAM plugin, which enables the use of SAM with satellite imagery. The experimental data consisted of Compact Advanced Satellite 500 (CAS500)-1 images. The results obtained by applying SAM to these data were compared with manually digitized water objects, Open Street Map (OSM), and water body data from the National Geographic Information Institute (NGII)-based hydrological digital map. The mean Intersection over Union (mIoU) calculated for all features extracted using SAM and these three-comparison data were 0.7490, 0.5905, and 0.4921, respectively. For features commonly appeared or extracted in all datasets, the results were 0.9189, 0.8779, and 0.7715, respectively. Based on analysis of the spatial consistency between SAM results and other comparison data, SAM showed limitations in detecting small-scale or poorly defined streams but provided meaningful segmentation results for water body classification.

  • The landslide occurrence in Sam-Chuck area was analyzed through Geo-Spatial Information System and AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process). Among many factors which causes landslide, terrain slope, terrain aspect, lithology, soil texture and vegetation arc taken as input data from existing maps and constructed as a database. These factors are determined by each environmental factor by environmental and geological characters in the study area, and the rating and weight about factor are input using AHP. Possible areas for landslide have been extracted by overlaying each layers. Finally, the estimated results are compared with real landslide sites to know which factor is the most effective for landslide. The results showed that lithology and soil factor have high susceptibility in Sam-Chuck area.

  • Hyperspectral image data have great potential to depict more detailed information on biophysical characteristics of surface materials, which are not usually available with multispectral data. This study aims to test the potential of hyperspectral data for classifying five soil classes defined by the vector product interim terrain data (VITD). In this study, we try to classify surface materials of bare soil over the study area in Korea using both hyperspectral and multispectral image data. Training and test samples for classification are selected with using VITD vector map. The spectral angle mapper (SAM) method is applied to the EO-I Hyperion data and Landsat ETM+ data, that has been radiometrically corrected and geo-rectified. Higher classification accuracy is obtained with the hyperspectral data for classifying five soil classes of gravel, evaporites, inorganic silt and sand.

  • As mentioned above, I have acquired some valuable results about medical treatments with acupuncture for "Trigeminal neuralgia" after studying oriental medical books. 1. The course of medical treatments with acupuncture was, first of all, applying general ones, and then, assisting ones based on occuring area of pain and the cause. 2. For general treatments, "Chok-yangmyong-Wi-Kyong", distributed widely on the face, was used in great numbers. The order, according to the number of using times, of spots for acupuncture was Ha-kwan(11 times), Hap-kok(10), Chan-juk(7), Hyop-geo, Tae-yang, Sa-baek(individually 6). 3. For assisting treaments based on occuring area of the pain, spots of the Kyong-rak, passing through occuring area of the pain, and Kyong-woe-ki-hyol were used in great numbers. 4. The order was O-je, Chan-juk, Yang-baek(individually 8), Tae-yang(5) for the pain of first branch of the trigeminal nerve; Sa-baek(12), Kwan-ryo(6), Go-ryo(5) for the pain of second one; and Hyop-geo, Ha-kwan(individually 6), Dae-young, Hyop-seung-jang(individually 5). Seung-jang(4). 5. For assisting treatments based on the cause, "One-hyol(原穴)", "Rak-hyol(絡穴)" and "5-soohyol(五輸穴)" were used in great numbers. 6. The order was Pung-ji(10), Hap-kok(9), Woe-kwan(5) for "Woe-Kam(外感)"; Nae-jong(12), Tae-chung(10), Chok-sam-ri(7) for "Kan-Wi-Hwa-Seung(肝胃火升)"; Tae-gue(7), Sam-um-kyo, Pung-ji(individually 2) for "Ho-Hwa-Sang-Seung(虛火上升)"; Pung-ryung(4) for "Pung Dam-Jo-R ak (風痰阻絡)"; Kyok-su(2) for "Ki-Che-Hyol-Ho(氣滯血虛)".

  • In this study, stress-deformation characteristics of buried pipe are studied. A numerical model, i.e., Egg-Cam Clay is introduced for the analysis of soft clay. Cam Clay model has a difficulty in analyzing soft clay that has two properties of shrinkage and swelling. Egg-Cam Clay model is modified format of Cam Clay model. In addition, Mohr-Coulomb model using finite element method is employed to verify effects of the geogrid, EPS geofoam. Stress deformation of several cases of pipe and other reinforcemnt material combinations are analyzed. Geofoam and geogrid have positive effects on the deformation characteristics.

  • Test fishing was carried out using six kinds of different mesh sizes (20, 22, 24, 28, 35, 40mm) for springnet-pot to study bycatches according to the mesh size and catches survey was done for another one (mesh size : 22mm, entrance round : 350mm) in Geo-je & Tong-young waters of Korea. On the first sea experiment, it was thought that suitable mesh size of spring-net-pot catching conger-eel over 35cm with decreasing the catches of conger-eel (Conger myriaster) below 35cm was 24mm. On the second sea experiment, commercial catches were crabs (Charybdis bimaculata), octopus minor (Octopus variabilis) and others including conger-eel, and catches proportion was 60% of total catches weights. There was no big difference for the monthly catches. Self-consumption catches were 9 species including conger-eel below 35cm holding 50% of catches in the side of weights. There were 40% of bycatches for the catches weights and 63% for catches numbers in the 22mm mesh size of spring-net-pot having entrance round over 140mm. It showed that 50% of catches weights were discarded.

  • We measured potential waveform of load, displacement, micro electric signal generated by rock and mortar fracture using PXI A/D Converter. The rock type used for measurement was used granite, limestone and sandstone, and mortar specimen. we made measuring equipment of physical properties to confirm basic information of physical properties, measured physical properties of rock engineering, electric resistivity and seismic velocity. Potential waveform system was built using PXI A/D Converter and measured potential waveform of load, displacement, micro-electric signal generated using this during uniaxial compressive test by the specimen finished such test of physical properties. Using the saturated rock and mortar specimen, micro electric signal increased, and It didn't increase a signal in dried rock and mortar specimen according as load and strain rate increases. But signal also increased in saturated or dried specimen in case of sandstone. It was possible to check the close correlation relationship the signal and fracture behavior by a compressive load as the signal of fracture position was increased bigger than the other position. It was also possible to check the correlation relationship between physical properties and micro geo-electric signal.
