Nonlinear Sliding mode Control of Overhead Crane System (천정 크레인 시스템의 비선형 슬라이딩 모드 제어)

  • In this paper, we proposed a nonlinear sliding mode controller to regulate the swinging angle of Overhead Crane System. Roughly speaking, the controller is designed to regulate an output(the swing angle) while providing internal stability. It is difficult to apply many of standard nonlinear control design techniques. In contrast to control that use a command generator and possibly a time-varying feedback, our control law is simple autonomous nonlinear controller. We analyze the stability of the closed-loop system using an $L_2$ Sliding surface conditions approach on a nonlinear feedback linearization of the system about the desired periodic orbit. One can easily extend this approach to analyze the robustness of the control system with respect to disturbances and parameter variations.

일본의 산.학.연 협동 연구사례 - 무진동선 개발과제

  • 본 개발에서는 주로 진동응답의 추정법에 대하여 검토하고 큰 성과를 얻었다. 이를 실제 설계에 활용해 나가는 것이 앞으로의 기본적인 과제이다. 또 이를 앞으로도 계속 개발해 나가기 위해서 는 다음과 같은 개발과제들을 들 수 있다. 1) 진동응답추정 .계산model 본 계발에는 Oil tanker와 산적화물선의 in-put generator(I/G)을 개발하였다. 이 이외의 선종 에 대하여도 본 개발에 의한 방법을 적용하게 되면 보다 정도 높은 계산 model로 새로이 refine해 나갈 수가 있다. .실선mode 해석전용 본 개발에 의하여 얻은 실선 mode해석 방법에 의하면 실선 계측으로부터 정확한 진동질량(m) 과 감쇄계수(d)를 얻게 된다. 이와 같은 m값과 d값의 자료를 더 축적하게 되면 진동응답 계 산정도를 한층 더 높일 수 있다. 2) 진동 제어 .종래의 설계방법과 본 개발에 의한 계산방법을 종합 적용하게 되면, 최적의 구조설계의 실용화 와 진동의 제어가 가능하게 될 것이다. .Enging, propeller 자체의 기진력을 경감시키는 연구는 본 개발에 들지 않고 앞으로의 과제로 남는다. .본 신형 주기방진stay의 개발은 본 진동제어의 idea에 도입하게 되면 또 다른 새로운 개발이 가능하다. .종래의 재료와 새로운 고성능 재료를 조합하게 되면 진동재어재료로서의 실용화가 가능하다.

A New Approach to HVDC System Control for Damping SSO Using the Novel Eigenvalue Analysis Program

  • This paper presents a new approach to HVDC system control for damping subsynchronous oscillation (SSO) involving HVDC converters and turbine generator shaft systems. This requires a novel eigenvalue analysis (NEA) program, derivation of HVDC system modeling considering steady-state conditions and dynamic conditions in the combined AC/DC system, and an appropriate control scheme. The method suggested makes possible the design of a subsynchronous oscillation damping controller (SODC) to provide positive damping torque for the range of torsional modes in combined AC/DC systems. There are three steps involved in the design of a SODC; first the worst torsional mode is determined using the NEA program, next the SODC parameters are designed for the range of that torsional mode, and then finally an off-line simultaneous time domain program such as PSCAD/EMTDC is used to verify the parameters of the SODC. The suggested SODC design method is applied to two AC/DC systems, and its practicality is verified using the PSCAD/EMTDC simulation program.

Vibration Control of Flywheel Energy Storage System (플라이휠 에너지 저장장치의 진동 제어 성능 평가)

  • In this paper, 5 kWh class Superconductor Flywheel Energy Storage System (SFES) was constructed including motor/generator, superconductor magnetic bearing(SMB), composite rotor and electromagnetic damper(EMD) system. High speed rotation test was performed after levitating flywheel rotor only using EMD without SMB. the PD controller of EMD was designed. the control system is constructed using xPC which is real time digital control system. the results of high speed rotation test showed that proposed EMD system have sufficient damping in cylindrical mode and conical mode, and vibration of wheel was suppressed below 10 ${\mu}m$.

  • Recently, interest in multivalued(MV) logic system has been increased, despites the apparent difficulties for practical application. This is because of the many advantages of the MV compared with the 2-valued logic systems, such as; (a) higher speed of arithmetical operation on account of the smaller number of digits required for a given data, (b) better utilization of data transmission channels on account of the higher information contents per line, (c) potentially higher density of information storage. This paper describes a MV switching theory and experimental MV logic elements based on current-mode logic technique. These elements tried were a 3-stable pulse generator, a ternary AND, a ternary OR, a MT circuit and a ternary inverter. Tristable flops which are indispensable for constituting a ternary shift register are synthesized using these gates. A BCD to TCD decoder, and vice versa, are proposed by using a ternary inverter and some binary gates. Thus, the feasibility of a large scale MV digital system has been demonstrate.

  • This paper describes the operation mode development for the grid-tied PMSG(permanent magnet synchronous generator) wind power system combined with a battery energy storage. The development of operation modes was carried out through simulations with PSCAD/EMTDC software and experiments with a 10kW hardware prototype. The detailed simulation models for PMSG wind power system and battery energy storage were developed using user-defined models programed with C-code. A 10kW hardware simulator was built and tested in connection with the local load and the utility power. The simulation and experimental results confirm that the grid-tied PMSG wind power system combined with battery energy storage can supply highly reliable power to the local load in various operation modes.

  • We have designed the backward wave oscillator. A power-pulsed generator oscillated at 24 GHz has higher frequency than current one. It is very inportant to prevent microwave from going into the beam diode, since intence microwave will harmfully affect beam generation. Due to the axial mode operation, there exist a critial value of beam energy for the oscillation. By changing the condition at the SWS end, an enhanced performance of the K-band oversized BWO is observed in a low magnetic field region about 0.8T.

  • The flywheel energy storage system using superconducting magnetic bearings is a device to store electrical energy as rotatioal kinetic energy by motor and to convert it to electrical energy by generator when it is necessary. The rotordynamic analysis should be performed with an adequate analytical model and equations of motion to identify the stable driving condition and the dynamic behavior. The critical speed and the unbalance response of superconducting magnetic bearings-flywheel system are studied in this paper. The analytical results show that the system has one forward whirling mode and two backward whirling models below 500rpm. The maximum displacement 0.75mm is detected at the first forward mode (385rpm)through unbalance response analysis. The analytical results are compared with the experimental result by the spin-down test. The experimental result shows that the maximum displacement is 0.7mm at 370rpm.

  • Most bearing casings are designed to focus on strength and weight of themselves because rotor speed passes through the critical speed when operation begins in large plants such as power plants. And It is treated importantly the relation between rotating frequency of the rotor and the natural frequency of casings to prevent resonance. But there is some cases that it is overlooked for harmonic components above rotating frequency. So we present experimentally a case that harmonic forces may make a resonance on casing fixing probes to measure vibration in a turbine-generator system and the vibration is generated when one component of harmonic forces excites the mode that the natural frequency of a certain bearing casing is close to one of harmonics of basic rotating frequency (1x).

  • A 1MW class HTS(High-Temperature Superconducting) synchronous motor has been developed. This motor was aimed to be utilized for industrial application such as large motors operating in large plants. The HTS field windings of the developed motor is cooled by way of Neon thermosiphon mechanism and the stator coil is cooled by water through hollow copper conductor. This paper describes performance test results of our motor, which was conducted at steady state in generator mode and motor mode.
