The aim of this study was to examine the effects of remedial instruction on self-efficacy improvement in elementary school students with low self-efficacy, which may have been formed through negative experience with learning such as poor performance and poor grades. Nine 6th grade students with low self-efficacy were selected for the present study. A remedial class was set up and instruction was given once a week for 14 weeks. The purpose of the remedial class was to give the students a positive experience with English learning and have students reflect on their achievement. The contents and class activities were adjusted to the subjects' English abilities and also closely related to those of the regular classes so that students could have more confidence during regular English classes. The data were collected from a test of self-efficacy in English learning, achievement tests given before and after the experiment, achievement tests after each lesson, a general self-efficacy test, a basic questionnaire, interviews, journals, and students' self-evaluation. The results showed that the remedial instruction was very successful in providing students with a sense of achievement and improving students' self-efficacy in English learning. However, this study failed to find significant improvement in general self-efficacy tests and achievement tests given before and after the experiments. A longer period of remedial instruction may have been necessary to obtain more concrete results from the variety of data collected.
The present study examined differences between students gifted in science and general students in creativity, environment, and academic self-efficacy. Subjects were eighth graders, 66 students gifted in science and 105 general students. Data were analyzed by ANOVA and Stepwise multiple regression. Results indicated that the students gifted in science were higher in creative thinking, creative personality, academic self-efficacy, and home environment than the general students. Self-regulatory efficacy was the most critical predictor of creativity.

Purpose: This study was done to identify the effects of self-care behavior, self-efficacy and family support on the occurrence of peritonitis in patients on CAPD (Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis). Methods: Data were collected from 81 patients on CAPD either as out-patients or in-patients between July and September 2004. Data were analyzed to identify relevant frequencies, percentages, averages, and standard deviations, and t-test and logistic regression were done using SPSS WIN 10.0 Results: a) Mean score for self-care behavior was 2.9 (of a possible 4.0), for general self-efficacy, 3.2 (of a possible 5.0), for specific self-efficacy 3.5 (of a possible 5), and for family support, 3.7 (of a possible 5). Family support generally showed the most positive results. b) Occurrence of peritonitis was not affected by general characteristics. c) There was a significant difference in the occurrence of peritonitis in terms of self-efficacy. Patients with peritonitis had lower self-efficacy than those who did not. 4) Of the four factors reviewed in relation to peritonitis, only self-efficacy was statistically significant: an increase in self- efficacy by 1 point increased the occurrence of peritonitis by 0.90. Conclusion: Among the four factors potentially affecting peritonitis in CAPD patients, general self-efficacy was found to be the main factor influencing the occurrence of peritonitis.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between fatigue, and self-efficacy in patients with lung cancer. Method: The data was collected from January 21th to April 8th 2001. The study subjects were recruited from K hospital in Pusan, Korea. Their fatigue was measured using the 22-item Revised Piper Fatigue Scale developed by Piper et al. (1998) and translated by the investigators, and self-efficacy was measured using the 10-item General Self-efficacy Questionnaire developed by Lee, Schwarzer & Jerusalem. The data were analyzed by SPSS 10.0 program using frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, Post-hoc test (Scheffe's test), and Pearson Correlation Coefficients. Result: 1) The mean fatigue score was $118.48{\pm}33.02$ (range: 22-220). The scores for sub-dimension were $35.40{\pm}10.06$ in behavior/severity, $25.98{\pm}9.06$ in affective score, $27.88{\pm}10.06$ in sensory score, and $29.22{\pm}8.27$ in cognitive/mood. The mean self-efficacy score was $28.80{\pm}5.85$. 2). There were significant differences in the fatigue of patients with lung cancer on income per month (F=4.651, p= .014), 'present pain' (F=2.601, p= .012), 'change of weight' (F=5.911, p= .005), by general characteristics. 3) There were significant differences in the self-efficacy of patients with lung cancer on 'religion' (F=3.732, p= .031), 'employment status' (F=5.525, p= .003), 'past therapy' (F=2.869, p= .034), by general characteristics 4) There was a significant negative correlation between fatigue and self-efficacy (r=- .528, p= .000). Conclusion: Patients with lung cancer experience fatigue. Increased fatigue is associated with decreased self-efficacy. Nurses must provide patients with nursing care for the less occurrence of fatigue and interventions to manage self-efficacy for them.
The study was to find whether the educational program contributed to increase of knowledge and self-efficacy of the postpartal primiparas. This study aimed at improvement of the educational effect for postpartal primiparas. The Subjects were 34 primiparas who were admitted to the obstetric ward in a University hospital from November 15th to December 9th, 1999. The Subjects were those who had no labor pain at the admission time, had no complications during labor and delivery and, gave birth to a healthy baby. They were tested on knowledge and self-efficacy two times, one at the admission time and prior to discharge. After the first test nurses in a maternity ward taught them on postpartal care. Two tools were developed by authors based on literature review. The test tool fr knowledge of postpartal car consisted of 23 items. The test tool for self-efficacy of postpartal care consisted of 16 items. Analysis of demographic data were analyzed with calculation of percentage. Score differences between the first test and the second test were analyzed with paired t-test. The Spss (Win 8.0) program was used for data analysis. The results are as follows. 1. There were not significant influencing general characteristics of primiparous to pre-educational knowledge. There were significant influencing general characteristics of primiparous to post-educational knowledge : occupation(t=13.04, p=0.00), postpartal education(t=5.51, p=0.02). 2. There were not significant influencing general characteristics of primiparous to pre-educational self-efficacy. There were significant influencing general characteristics of primiparous to post-educational self-efficacy : antenatal education(t=5.53, p=0.02) 3. Primiparas' knowledge of postpartal care increased significantly after education(t=13.04, p=0.00). 4. Primiparas' self-efficacy of postpartal care increased significantly after education(t=5.51, p=0.02). 5. Correlation between knowledge and self-efficacy was r=.360(p=0.03). We suggest follow-up studies to find whether primiparas' self-efficacy will last after discharge or not.
Background: The appropriate use of drugs is very important for a healthy life, as appropriate medication must be taken correctly for successful treatment of a disease. The purpose of this study was to investigate the self-efficacy between health status and drug abuse behavior. Methods: The subjects of this study were selected from 15 workshops located in Seoul, Incheon, Daejeon, and Chungnam, and, convenience sampling was conducted for each employee between September, 2017 and October 2017. A total of 204 questionnaires were analyzed. The questions evaluated health status, self-efficacy, drug abuse behavior, and general characteristics. Results: First, there was no difference in health status according to the general characteristics of the subjects. The self-efficacy varied according to gender, educational background, and monthly income, but not by marital status and residence area. In addition, drug abuse behaviors differed according to gender, residence area, and monthly income, but not by marital status and education level. Second, drug abuse behavior negatively correlated with health status and self-efficacy. Third, regression analysis showed that the self-efficacy between the health status and drug abuse behavior had a partially mediating effect. Conclusion: In patients with poor health status, it is necessary to increase their self-efficacy to reduce reduce drug abuse. Therefore, regular education programs targeting efficacy and drug knowledge are required in the community.

The purpose of this study is to identify the relationship between the self-concept of nursing teachers and teacher efficacy and to determine differences in the level of self-concept of nursing teachers. The research results were as follows. Firstly, the relationship between the self-concept of nursing teachers and teachers efficacy showed that there was a positive correlation between self-concept and general/individual teacher efficacy. Secondly, the observation results on the variations of the teacher efficacy depending on the level of the self-concept of nursing teachers noted the positive correlations and general-, individual teacher efficacy. Self-concept showed a higher correlation with individual teacher efficacy than general teacher efficacy. In summary, the research confirmed the definite correlation between the self-concept of teachers and teacher efficacy.
The purpose of this study was to identity degree on self-care agency & self efficacy of hemodialisis patients. The subjects for the study consisted of 260 hemodialisis patients and the data were collected from April 1st. 2002 to April 30. 2002. The instruments used for this study were the Self-carer As Inventory Scale(Genden & Taylor. 1998) and Concrete Self Efficacy Scale(Joo-Hyen Kim. 1995). As the average score Self-care agency indicated $132.21\pm19.11$ points and Self efficacy showed $597.33\pm130.95$points. it can be said that Self-care agency and Self efficacy were high. 2. In the relationship between general and hemodialisis cure characteristics and Self care agency were significant difference in age(F=3.065. p=0.018). married(F=3.160. p= 0.029). religion(F=4.128. p=0.003). hemodialisis cure duration(F=2.615. p=0.049). 3. In the relationship between general and hemodialisis cure characteristics and Self efficacy were significant difference in age (F=2.992. p=0.019). married(F=4.427. p=0.013), job(before attack-F=1.926. p=0.044. after attack-F=1.784. p=0.048). incomes (F=2.235. p=0.041), hemodialisis cure frequency (F=1.718. p=0.042). diet practice (F=2.248. p=0.025). 4. The purpose of this study was for the adult woman that provides the investigation, analysis, consideration of the relationship with clothing behavior and self-efficacy depends on their skin care grade. Data were collected from 477 adult females and analyzed by using frequency, dispersion analysis, ANOVA, t-test, Duncan test utilizing SPSS 10.0 program. The results were as follows: The younger and the more educated respondents were the better their skin care. Also, the more they spent on clothes, the more they spent on cosmetic products. For occupations, professionals were to have better skin care. It was expose that 20s and 30s are shown difference for all low rank leading persons except conformity in the midst of it is clothing behavior main point by skin care management degree, 40s appeared that difference is seen in interest, psychological dependence, aesthetics, management. It was expose that difference does not exist in liver that is clothing behavior main point by skin care administration degree in 50s. 20s appeared difference in general self-efficacy divination in self-efficacy, and 30s appeared that skin care degree is high as general self-efficacy and physical self-efficacy are high. It was expose that 40s and 50s are no difference of self-efficacy in between group by skin care degree.

Recently the departments of aviation-related in the college are increased as the aviation industry is rapidly expanded. To enhance their competitiveness and have differentiation, it is emphasized for each department to manage and teach their students well. Therefore this study aims to examine self-efficacy and academic adjustment of aviation-related college students and investigate the relationship between self-efficacy and academic adjustment. To achieve the objectives, it conducted a survey of aviation-related college students in C university from Apr. 27th. 2015 to May. 22th. 2015. A total of 225 questionnaires were analyzed using SPSS 18.0 statistical package program and frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, multiple regression analysis, correlation analysis and one-way ANOVA were conducted. The result released that general self-efficacy was recognized higher at the department of aviation operation than aviation maintenance and aviation service and social self-efficacy was recognized higher at the department of aviation service than aviation maintenance and aviation operation. Also general self-efficacy had an influence on the motivation, application and performance and social self-efficacy affected motivation, performance and academic environment. The implication of these findings would help to manage aviation-related college students, develop their departments and provide the directions for future research.
