A Case Study on the Analysis of Man/Multi-Machine System Using Simulation (시뮬레이션을 이용한 작업자/복수기계 가동분석에 대한 사례연구)

  • This paper deals with a case study of workload analysis of an operator in an automatic line for machining the race of ball bearing. Eleven machines and three hoppers are installed in the line which is operated by an operator. The elements of operation are separated into machine controlled elements, operator controlled elements and machine/operator controlled elements. In order to analyze the system, time and motion studies are used for gathering input data for the simulation model. The first objective of this study is to evaluate whether the workload of operator is reasonable or not. The second objective is to increase throughput by reducing tact time and the last one is to increase frequencies of inspection by reducing interval. Thus we suggest some ideas for improvement, and as a result, the throughput is improved about 9%. In spite of the increasing of throughput, the allowance of operator is also increased about 4%.

Effect of Sta-Green on Leaf and Stem Production of Angelica acutiloba

  • This study was conducted to develop effective production system in greenhouse for leaves and stems of Angelica acutiloba by fertilizing of Sta-Green in pots. The results obtained are summarized as follows. Germination rate of Angelica acutiloba seeds collected in 2003 was $13\%$, while germination rate of seeds Collected in 2004 was above $91\%$. Seed germination rate and plant biomass of Angelica acutiloba collected in 2004 were higher than seed gathering in 2003. Especially, plant growth and yield of Angelica acutiloba grown in pot(The pots was filled with soil mixtures of Sta-Green and Peat Moss mixed with 45:55 ratio.) was the highest. These results indicate that leaf and stem production of Angelica acutiloba can be improved by fertilizing of Sta-Green in pots and optimizing seed collecting time in greenhouse.

  • Today's subway system is packed with various informations such as danger/safety signs, directions, and tightly placed advertisements. All these elements are becoming one big chaos rather than convenient source of information for commuters. To solve this problem immediately, it has to be analysed for systematic character of subway spaces and leaded to constructive improvement for the locating subway signs in correct and convenient spots with right contents. Especially in case of transfer stations, structure is complicated and mazed. At the same time, tremendous amount of commuters are passing through and all these commuting are adding more complications and chaos to the system. Therefore, it is harder to focus on gathering environment informations and finding right directions. Better guiding signage for easier transfer is now essential for new standard of modern commuting with total and logical system. Eventually, it will be great help for setting budget efficiency and advanced subway environment through efficient and Koreanized subway transfer system.

  • This study was conducted to develop the Apartment Information System. This integrated information system is designed to provide a large number of users with the convenient, economical, and safe life in the apartment complex. The characteristics of this system are as follows; 1) The system was developed by CAD technology using 2D and 3D methods with Web base. 2) This system has 2-Tire structures which are able to embody the geographic information on the Web base without special Spatial Engine. 3) Since the spatial data applied to this system is a vector file format, the speed of electrical transmission is fast and it makes possible to search spatially for the client method. The results of this study may contribute to make use of the information system for apartment complex as follows; 1) This system can be used together by the communities of apartment residence, maintenance company and construction company. 2) Also this system can help residence to communicate sharing information and can support the apartment management with open information and clarity. Expecially, the practical data gathering was made for this study only.

Problem Coping Strategies Depression and the Social Support Needs for Psychological Adjustment of Unemployed Husband's Wives (실직자 가족의 문제와 대처, 우울감 및 심리문제 해결지원요구도 -실직자 아내를 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the problem coping strategies and depression of unemployed husband's wives and to analysis the social support(education and counseling program) needs for their psychological adjustment. The subjects were 139 unemployed husband's wives living in Seoul city and Kyungi-do province. The questionnaire method was used for data gathering. The major findings were as follows" 1) Wives perceived the most negative change of unemployed husband. Wives' depression was influenced by self-esteem evaluation of husband's coping behavior weak health passive coping strategies and negative change of husband and marital relation. 2) Wives needed education and counseling support the most in the area stress & mental health problem marital conflict and marital communication. The result of this study were discussed in the relation with the contents of education and counseling program for unemployed husbands' wives.

  • Recently, the usage of polymer concrete mortar gathering an interest as a new construction material rapidly increases inside and outside of the country because it is an environment-friendly and endurable material. However, up to these days, the researches about the polymer composite have not been satisfactorily conducted. The polymer concrete is superior to the general cement materials in the properties of strength and durability while it is inferior in elastic modulus. Because that the members using the polymer concrete have therefore higher strength and ductility than the members of general cement concrete, an analysis equation of high-strength cement concrete can be referenced but it is not applied for the researches about the polymer concrete members. In this study, the flexural properties of T-shaped beam of the steel- and GFRP-reinforced polymer concrete are analyzed to examine the suggested analysis equation. Results of this experimental researches are to be used as the basic data in a structural design of the polymer concrete.

  • The purpose of study is to develope for lightweight concrete panel which have high quality with insulation performance of sound. The use of lightweight concrete products has been increased at a recently high structures. Also, the gathering of nature aggregate is limited, so that lack of fine aggregate is appearing. Statistical analysis is practiced on the properties of EPS concrete according to the variation of mix design. As a result saturated density is affected by amount of Bottom ash.Also compressive strength is affected by W/B ratio at the early age and amount of Bottom ash at the latter age.

  • This study presents a ready-to-use production planning and control (PP&C) system for the plastic extrusion industry of this country. From the view point of production management, the problems of the industry which are composed of small to midium size manufactures can be summarized as i) poor field data gathering ii) absence of systematic factory management. This study first attempts to devise a simple but useful field monitoring system. Then it presents a PP&C scheme that utilizes the special characteristics of plastic extrusion factory. Various algorithms for the scheme are devised. The resulting system is now realized and ready to implement.

  • For organizing a flexible and reasonable measuring system, it is necessary that one should not only understand the process itself but also choose an adequate system. In this paper, we want to show a system of measuring and analyzing diesel engine's performance which is capable of producing a report of a certain format as well as gathering, analyzing and managing data. The system was designed by VXIbus as an all-in-one. It was also proven by a real field test through the Guam diesel power plant, which was designed and constructed by Hanjung.

  • This paper describes a methodology for conducting Community Nutrition research with rather than on people in a community to generate grounded theory. This collaborative grounded theory methodology incorporates local knowledge and wisdom and builds community leadership capacity through engaging community-based professionals and para-professionals in the research process. In addition to building capacity for participation and leadership in research, education and action, this approach can increase the validity and value of the research and facilitate its application in community led programs. The methodology has five components: background, study design, data gathering, data analysis and interpretation, and application of findings in community programming. Three stages of the data analysis component focus sequentially on each interview independently, comparing across interviews, and systematically testing theory developed in the first two.
