The stoichiometric mix of evaporating materials for he CuInS₂ single crystal thin films was prepared. To obtain the single crystal thin films, CuINS₂ mixed crystal was deposited on etched semi-insulator GaAs(100) substrate by the hot wall epitaxy(HWE) system. The source and substrate temperature were 640℃ and 430℃, respectively and the thickness of the single crystal thin films was 2 ㎛. The crystalline structure of single crystal thin films was investigated by the photoluminescence and double crystal X-ray diffraction(DCXD). The carrier density and mobility deduced from Hall data are 9.64x10/sup 22//㎥ and 2.95x10/sup -2/ ㎡/V·s, respectively at 293 K. he optical energy gap was found to be 1.53 eV at room temperature. From the photocurrent spectrum obtained by illuminating perpendicular light on the c-axis of the thin film, we have found that the values of spin orbit coupling splitting ΔSo and the crystal field splitting ΔCr were 0.0211 eV and 0.0045 eV at 10K, respectively. From PL peaks measured at 10K, were can assign the 807.7 nm (1.5350 eV) peak to E/sub x/ peak of the free exciton emission, the 810.3 nm(1.5301 eV) peak to I₂ peak of donar-bound exciton emission and the 815.6 nm(1.5201 eV) peak to I₁ peak of acceptor-bound excition emission. In addition, the peak observed at 862.0 nm(1.4383 eV) was analyzed to be PL peak due to donor-acceptor pair(DAP).
Photovoltaic (PV) panels are used in high-rise buildings to convert solar energy to electricity. Due to the considerable energy consumption of high-rise buildings, applying PV technology is of great significance to energy saving. In the application of PV panels, one of the most important construction issues is the connection of the PV panel with the main structures. One major difficulty of the connection design is that the PV panel connection consists of two separate components with coupling and indeterminate dimension. In this paper, the gap element is employed in these two separated but coupled components, i.e., hook and catch. Topology optimization is applied to optimize and design the cross-section of the PV panel connection. Pareto optimization is conducted to operate the optimization subject to multiple load scenarios. The initial design for the topology optimization is determined by the common design specified by the Technical Code for Glass Curtain Wall Engineering (JGJ 102-2003). Gravity and wind load scenarios are considered for the optimization and numerical analysis. Post analysis is conducted for the optimal design obtained by the topology optimization due to the manufactory requirements. Generally, compared with the conventional design, the optimized connector reduces material use with improved structural characteristics.

In this paper, a micromachined low-loss and ultra wide band reflection-type phase shifter (RTPS) is proposed. The phase shifter shows a constant phase shift from 5 to 17 GHz and consists of two cascaded reflection-type phase shifter. Low-loss reflection termination consists of digital capacitive switches, and air-gap overlay CPW couplers are used in order to employ the low-loss 3 dB coupling. The fabricated phase shifter showed the 5 discrete states, $0^{\circ},{\;}22.5^{\circ},{\;}45^{\circ},{\;}67.5^{\circ},{\;}90^{\circ}$ respectively, the average insertion loss of 3.48 dB, and maximum rms phase error of ${\pm}1.80^{\circ}$ for the relative phase shift from $0^{\circ}{\;}to{\;}90^{\circ}$ over 5-17 GHz.
This paper proposes a technique to design of air-core type Linear DC Motor(LDM) by using Equivalent Magnetizing Current(EMC) method and has performed its dynamic analysis. The magnetic flux density differ in accordance with airgap position due to difference of mechanical and magnetic air gap length and the coil shape has an influence on the thrust. Therefore, the analysis of magnetic field due to the magnets is carried out by EMC. The phenomena according to the various coil various coil shape under the same Magneto Motive Force(MMF) has been analyzed and its result is applied to the design process. The appropriateness of the proposed technique is confirmed by Finite Element Method(FEM) and its dynamic analysis is carried out from the coupling of the electrical circuit equation and mechanical kinetic equation.
In this study, lead-free $(Na_{0.5}K_{0.5})NbO_3-BiTiO_3$ ceramics were fabricated by a conventional mixed oxide method. Structural and electrical properties of lead-free $(Na_{0.5}K_{0.5})NbO_3$ ceramics with the variation of $BiTiO_3$ were investigated. The results of X-ray diffraction analysis showed a typical polycrystalline perovskite structure without presence of the second phase in all specimens. Sintered density increased with an increasing of BTO and the specimen added with 0.07 mol% of $BiTiO_3$ showed the maximum value of 97.8%. Average grain size decreased and densification increased with an increasing of $BiTiO_3$ contents. The electromechanical coupling factor of the 0.01 mol% $BiTiO_3$ doped NKN specimens was 0.32. Dielectric constant, dielectric loss and Curie temperature of the 0.07 mol% $BiTiO_3$ doped NKN specimens were 1185, 0.145% and $400^{\circ}C$, respectively.
In this paper, we present a MEMS (micro-electro-mechanical system) implantable blood pressure sensor which has designed and fabricated with consideration of size, design flexibility, and wireless detection. Mechanical and electrical characterizations of the sensor were obtained by mathematical analysis and computer aided simulation. The sensor is composed of two coils and a air gap capacitor formed by separation of the coils. Therefore, the sensor produces its resonant frequency which is changed by external pressure variation. This frequency movement is detected by inductive coupling between the sensor and an external antenna coil. Theoretically analyzed resonant frequency of the sensor under 760 mmHg was calculated to 269.556 MHz. Fused silica was selected as sensor material with consideration of chemical and electrical reaction of human body to the material. $2mm{\times}5mm{\times}0.5mm$ pressure sensors fitted to radial artery were fabricated on the substrates by consecutive microfabrication processes: sputtering, etching, photolithography, direct bonding and laser welding. Resonant frequencies of the fabricated sensors were in the range of 269~284 MHz under 760 mmHg pressure.
TFLIM(Transverse Flux Linear Induction Motor), making its closed magnetic path with the direction of the traveling field orthogonal, had been developed to decrease an edge effect of the general induction motor. To control the levitation force and the thrust force on the secondary part of TFLIM independently, the various methodologies have been presented. When we try to achieve the independent control using only the multi-phase inputs assigned in the stator coils as an approach, in which condition we can minimize the coupling effect between two forces\ulcorner In this paper, we show the qualitative influence of a slip frequency, an ac magnitude, a dc offset superposed in the ac power, and a major parameter of TFLIM on the couple through the computer simulation. And to realize the independent motions between levitation and thrust motion without any auxiliary means fur isolation of the secondary part of TFLIM, the decouple compensator is suggested, including the experimental results.
In the field of electric vehicles and AGVs, wireless power transfer (WPT) charging systems have been developed recently because of its convenience, reliability, and positive environmental impact due to cable and cord elimination. In this study, we propose a WPT charging system using a single stage AC-DC converter that can be reduced in size and weight and thus can ensure convenience. The proposed single-stage AC-DC converter can control a wide output voltage (36-54 VDC) within coupling ranges by using the variable link voltage applied to the WPT resonant circuit through phase-shifted modulation at a fixed switching frequency. Moreover, the input power factor and total harmonic distortion can be improved by using the proposed converter. A 1 kW prototype that can operate with an air gap range of 40-50 mm is fabricated and validated through experimental results and analysis.
The necessity for appropriate management of water resources infrastructures such as reservoirs, levees, and dikes is increasing due to unexpected hydro-climate irregularities and rising water demands. To meet this need, past studies have focused on advancing theoretical optimization algorithms such as nonlinear programming, dynamic programming (DP), and genetic programming. Yet, the optimally derived theoretical solutions are limited to be directly implemented in making release decisions in the real-world systems for a variety of reasons. This study first aims to comparatively analyze the two prominent optimization methods, DP and evolutionary multi-objective direct policy search (EMODPS), under historical inflow series using K-fold cross validation. A total of six optimization models are formed each with a specific formulation. Then, one of the optimization models was coupled with the actual zone-based hedging rule that has been adopted in practice. The proposed methodology was applied to Boryeong Dam located in South Korea with conflicting objectives between supply and demand. As a result, the EMODPS models demonstrated a better performance than the DP models in terms of proximity to the ideal. Moreover, the incorporation of the real-world policy with the optimal solutions improved in all indices in terms of the supply side, while widening the range of the trade-off between frequency and magnitude measured in the sides of demand. The results from this study once again highlight the necessity of closing the gap between the theoretical solutions with the real-world implementable policies.
