  • To enable high-performance computing (HPC) for applications with large datasets using a $Sony^{(R)}$ $PLAYSTATION^{(R)}$ 3 ($PS3^{TM}$) video game console, we configured a hybrid system consisting of a $Windows^{(R)}$ PC and a $PS3^{TM}$. To validate this system, we implemented the real-time multiplet identifier (RTMI) application, which identifies multiplets of microearthquakes in terms of the similarity of their waveforms. The cross-correlation computation, which is a core algorithm of the RTMI application, was optimised for the $PS3^{TM}$ platform, while the rest of the computation, including data input and output remained on the PC. With this configuration, the core part of the algorithm ran 69 times faster than the original program, accelerating total computation speed more than five times. As a result, the system processed up to 2100 total microseismic events, whereas the original implementation had a limit of 400 events. These results indicate that this system enables high-performance computing for large datasets using the $PS3^{TM}$, as long as data transfer time is negligible compared with computation time.

  • In this paper, we propose a named entity and event annotation tool for cultural heritage information corpus construction. Focusing on time, location, person, and event suitable for cultural heritage information management, the annotator writes the named entities and events with the proposed tool. In order to easily annotate the named entities and the events, the proposed tool automatically annotates the location information such as the line number or the word number, and shows the corresponding string, formatted as both bold and italic, in the raw text. For the purpose of reducing the costs of the manual annotation, the proposed tool utilizes the patterns to automatically recognize the named entities. Considering the very little training corpus, the proposed tool extracts simple rule patterns. To avoid error propagation, the proposed patterns are extracted from the raw text without any additional process. Experimental results show that the proposed tool reduces more than half of the manual annotation costs.

  • Military wargame simulation models must support the HLA in order to facilitate interoperability with other simulations, and using parallel simulation engines offer efficiency in reducing system overhead generated by propelling interoperability. However, legacy military simulation model engines process events using sequential event-driven method. This is due to problems generated by parallel processing such as synchronous reference to global data domains. Additionally. using legacy simulation platforms result in insufficient utilization of multiple CPUs even if a multiple CPU system is under use. Therefore, in this paper, we propose conversing the simulation engine to an object model-based parallel simulation engine to ensure military wargame model's improved system processing capability, synchronous reference to global data domains, external simulation time processing, and the sequence of parallel-processed events during a crash recovery. The converted parallel simulation engine is designed and implemented to enable parallel execution on a multiple CPU system (SMP).

  • As application development environment changes rapidly, importance of user interface design is increasing. Usually, most of designers are clustering by subjective method of individual to define objects that have relativity in design interface. But, interface which is designed without particular rules just adds inefficiency and complexity of business to user who use this system. Therefore, in this paper, we propose an object oriented design model that allows for flexible development by formalizing the user interface prototype in any GUI environment. The visual cohesion of the user interface is a new set of criteria which has been studied in relation to the user interface contents, and is founded on the basis of the cohesion of the interface as defined using basic software engineering concepts. The visual cohesion includes the issue of how each unit is arranged and grouped, as well as the cohesion of the business events which appear in the programming unit. The interface will become easier to understand and use if the business events are grouped by their inter-relevance within the user interface.

  • Since many man-made systems consist of autonomous and interactive components, it is intrinsically difficult to analyze their abnormal behavior. The logical analysis of such a system is an indispensable process for high quality and reliable system development. In this paper, we propose an analysis method using two algebraic operations, named composition and minimization. Repetitive composition and minimization of component models with respect to a set of important events produces a new analysis model that has the same input output responses to an environment. An analysis example of the alternating bit protocol demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed method showing that each message generated at the sender side eventually arrives to a receiver.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine how recently fashion corporate did use SNS applications for their product promotion strategies as case studies, and to provide what kinds of SNS marketing strategies would be developed for fashion corporate. Specifically, this study was focused on Twitter among SNS applications. For this study, Internet webs, news paper, articles, and other press work were used for resources. Five fashion corporate such as Buckaroo, MLB, North Faces, Kolon, and ABC Mart were analyzed. As the results, first, fashion corporate used Twitter as the marketing tool for their product promotion. Second, they tried to make an increase the numbers of Twitter follower from their customers. Third, Twitter was used for making higher customer loyalty by fashion corporate through a variety of program such as special events, game, music, or viral marketing. However, there were still some limitations on fashion corporate's Twitter usage, compared to other non-fashion corporate. Thus, fashion corporate needs to provide more creative and unique Twitter marketing strategies. Therefore, based on these results, fashion brand merchandising marketing strategies of fashion products would be provided from this study.

  • Authoring AR(augmented-reality) contents not only takes too much time and cost, but also needs the help of professionals in the areas of computer science, VR(virtual reality), AR, 3D computer graphics, computer vision, etc. In this paper, we analyze the difficulties(inherent to developing AR contents) into three problems and present a formalized authoring approach for AR contents. The proposed approach is based on the Statecharts, which was originally designed for modeling real-time embedded systems. In order to apply he Statecharts to modeling AR contents, we defined the semantics of the Statecharts and various events for interaction modeling.

  • Cervicofacial subcutaneous emphysema is defined as the abnormal introduction of air into the subcutaneous tissues of the head and neck. It is mainly iatrogenic and traumatic in origin. Our two case reports are also due to the same cause, but the features of the trauma and the site of the dental treatment are different from the existing reports. A 29-year-old man visited our hospital with facial swelling and pain after experiencing facial trauma in a soccer game. Another 55-year-old woman visited with similar symptoms after replacement of her maxillary anterior fixed prosthesis. In the two cases presented, subcutaneous emphysema was gradually treated with no complications during antibiotic prophylaxis and supportive care. In this paper, we report two cases of traumatic and iatrogenic subcutaneous emphysema and their diagnoses, etiologies, complications, and treatments based on a literature review.

  • We study three sports media start-ups that seek to promote business model innovation (BMI) in which Web 3.0 and metaverse are converged. In results, LM starts from an innovative digital space platform offering a unique combination of virtual real estate, games, and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) which come with real-world earning potential. It creates value by integrating virtual real estate, training academies, blockchain games, and meta shops to offer a unique experience, capture value by offering monetization tools for buying and trading limited edition NFTs of favorite influencers from various sports leagues, offering access to premier real-world events and VIP game contests, and delivers value by building community to play games with favorite athletes or teams including trivia games, allowing fans to engage with their favorite athletes in a unique exclusive way. SL starts from the customizable digital identities especially for young sports fans like generation (gen) Z to play, hang out, and express themselves with their own avatars. SI starts from a leading Web3.0 metaverse innovator creating NFTs with the greatest athletes of all time, allowing athletes and creators to set up a profile and mint NFTs directly onto the blockchain. It tries to have the partnerships with great athletes revolutionizing the sports media industry to connect sports heroes and their super fans through an immersive, artistic, inspirational NFTs and unlockable content creating a sticky community between them.
