  • This paper realizes a system that recognizes traffic safety signs by applying the principle used for game in reverse. The game used for this paper is one that expresses the shape of temporary objects intended by the maker when the maker sees the numerical image provided on (x, y) coordinates and then expresses it on the mesh. After separating the traffic safety sign image from the input image, the system is realized by outputting the content of the sign into letters by recognizing the forms and colors constituting the sign using the puzzle game above. Our system has fast process time and better rate of recognition than the existing system with black-and-white image processing and recognition without any penciling progress.

  • A game starting, the process of running has some loading steps. In general, textures use corresponding images saved externally and the file format of images affects the loading time of game. We propose some ideas for the texture using method by comparison with loading time according to some file formats.

  • Recently, a wide range of next-generation's game consoles has been developed by many game makers. Particularly, active interaction between users and games is required more than ever before for giving gamers the fullest pleasure. In this work, an infrared image sensor based position recognition system which can be used for virtual game interface is proposed. Furthermore, two kinds of compensation algorithms and Extended Kalman Filter are utilized to enhance the performance of the proposed system. The proposed system can effectively generate the position of the gamer in the face of the coordinate distortion and noise. To verity the feasibilities of the proposed system, various experiments are carried out.

  • In this paper, a network based robot soccer system is proposed. The system consists of robots, an image processing sub-system, a game server, and client systems. Embedded technique is applied to the hardware and software for controlling the robots and image processing. In this robot soccer system, a gamer can see and control robots in a remote site through Internet. During the game, the game server gives geometrical information on robots such as positions and orientations. We demonstrated the game in public and obtained optimistic results even though some technical problemssuch as communication delay and precise control for the robots should be improved.

  • The vague anxiety or disbelief about new media undermines the confidence of old media about controlling the future. The negative response of old media makes the vicious circle. In spite of the development of new media and IT industry, the conservative view regards computer game as taboo. The absolute taboo provokes the absolute fear. Then the absolute taboo is 'computer game' in today's Korean society. Computer game as play in the digital era is burdened by the critique on the non-productivity and the deviation. And what's more, the digital technology of computer game intensifies the image of 'virtuality'. It cause the fear about computer game. This article starts on the understanding about computer game and inspects the mass image about computer game which is caused by the various aspects of cultural or technological facts in computer game. From this inspection, the article explains the mechanism of gamephobia and suggests the view to catch the cultural value of computer game beyond the fear.

  • The video game Tetris is one of most popular game and it is well known that its game rule can be modelled as MDP (Markov Decision Process). This paper presents a DQN (Deep Q-Network) based game agent for Tetris game. To this end, the state is defined as the captured image of the Tetris game board and the reward is designed as a function of cleared lines by the game agent. The action is defined as left, right, rotate, drop, and their finite number of combinations. In addition to this, PER (Prioritized Experience Replay) is employed in order to enhance learning performance. To train the network more than 500000 episodes are used. The game agent employs the trained network to make a decision. The performance of the developed algorithm is validated via not only simulation but also real Tetris robot agent which is made of a camera, two Arduinos, 4 servo motors, and artificial fingers by 3D printing.

  • The location of the objects that make up a game can be an element of immersion for players. repeatedly appearing at the same position, the fun may be reduced, and as the play time elapses, the players will feel the game's fun as they appear in a larger area than at the beginning of the game play. This paper is a study to find out the location of objects according to the passage of time and to see how players controlled these objects. First, foreground images are extracted and accumulated using OpenCV programming language. The accumulated result is displayed as a heat map image. Second, the mouse movement area is detected using the mouse tracking program and compared with the heat map image, so that the screen area in which the player is interested can be known.

  • In this paper, an accelerated generation algorithm to effectively generate an elemental image array in computational integral imaging system is proposed. In the proposed method, the depth information of 3D object is extracted from the images picked up by a stereo camera or depth camera. Then, the elemental image array can be generated by using the proposed accelerated generation algorithm with the depth information of 3D object. The resultant 3D image generated by the proposed accelerated generation algorithm was compared with that the conventional direct algorithm for verifying the efficiency of the proposed method. From the experimental results, the accuracy of elemental image generated by the proposed method could be confirmed.

  • This paper shows the face rotation applicable to game character facial illustration. Existing studies limited data to human face data, required a large amount of data, and the synthesized results were not good. In this paper, the following method was introduced to solve the existing problems of existing studies. First, a 3D model with features of the input image was rotated and then rendered as a 2D image to construct a data set. Second, by designing GAN that can learn features of various poses from the data built through the 3D model, the input image can be synthesized at a desired pose. This paper presents the results of synthesizing the game character face illustration. From the synthesized result, it can be confirmed that the proposed method works well.
