Improvement of Microstep Characteristics in Hydrostatic Table with Ballscrew (볼스크류로 구동되는 유정압테이블의 미소이송특성 향상)

  • Microstep characteristics largely depends on the variation of friction force induced by the geometric accuracy of ballscrew, guide rail and the control characteristics of servo unit. In this paper, for improving the microstep characteristics of hydrostatic table with ballscrew, microstep resolution according to the control mode of servo amplifier and response characteristic by the variation of integral gain are tested and compared. Relationship between micro motion behavior of hydrostatic table and the output torque is also tested for acquiring the effective variables on control characteristics. From the results. it is confirmed that the torque control mode has a advantage in microstep resolution, and more stable than velocity control mode in low feed rate, and by the increase of integral gain in the elastic motion realm, response characteristics can be improved.

  • In industrial actual control system, PID controller has been used with its high delicate control system in position control system. PID controller has simple structure and superior ability in several characteristics. When the response of system is changed by delay time, variable load , disturbances and external environment, control gain of PID controller must be readjusted on the system dynamic characteristics. Therefore, a control ability of PID controller is degraded when th control gain is inappropriately determined. When the response characteristic of system is changed under a condition, control gain of PID controller must be changed adaptively to be a waited response of system. In this paper an adaptive-tuning type PID controller is constructed by self-recurrent Neural Network(SRNN). applying back-propagation(BP) algorithm. Form the result of computer simulation in the proposed controller, its usefulness is verified.

  • The spectral and temporal characteristics of a V-groove AIGaAs-GaAs quantum wire (QWR) laser were investigated with varying the cavity length. At cavity lengths shorter than 300 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, a discrete shift in tile wavelength occurred from the n=1 to the n=2 subband due to the increased cavity losses. Utilizing this characteristic, ultrafast lasing characteristics at each subband were investigated by tile gain switching method.

  • This paper presents a wide dynamic range radio-frequency (RF) root-mean-square (RMS) power detector using an automatic gain control (AGC) loop. The AGC loop consists of a variable gain amplifier (VGA), RMS conversion block and gain control block. The VGA exploits dB-linear gain characteristic of the cascade VGA. The proposed circuit utilizes full-wave squaring and generates a DC voltage proportional to the RMS of an input RF signal. The proposed RMS power detector operates from 500MHz to 5GHz. The detecting input signal range is from 0 dBm to -70 dBm or more with a conversion gain of -4.53 mV/dBm. The proposed RMS power detector is designed in a 65-nm 1.2-V CMOS process, and dissipates a power of 5 mW. The total active area is $0.0097mm^2$.

The Study on Highly Miniaturized Active 90°C Phase Difference Power Divider and Combiner for Application to Wireless Communication (무선 통신 시스템 응용을 위한 초소형화된 능동형 90°C 위상차 전력 분배기와 결합기에 관한 연구)

  • This paper propose highly miniaturized active $90^{\circ}C$ phase difference power divider and combiner for application to wireless communication system. The conventional passive $90^{\circ}C$ power divider and combiner cannot be integrated on MMIC because of their very large circuit size. Therefore, the highly miniaturized active $90^{\circ}C$ phase difference power divider and combiner are required for a development of highly integrated MMIC. In this paper, the highly miniaturized active $90^{\circ}C$ phase difference power divider and combiner employing InGaAs/GaAs HBT were designed, fabricated on GaAs substrate. According to the results, the circuit size of fabricated active $90^{\circ}C$ phase difference power divider and combiner were $1.67{\times}0.87$ mm and $2.42{\times}1.05$ mm, respectively, which were 31.6% and 2.2% of the size of conventional passive branch-line coupler. The output gain division characteristic of proposed divider circuit showed 8.4 dB and 7.9 dB respectively, and output phase difference characteristic showed $-89.3^{\circ}C$. The output gain coupling characteristic of proposed combiner circuit showed 9.4 dB and 10.5 dB respectively, and output phase difference characteristic showed $-92.6^{\circ}C$. The highly miniaturized active $90^{\circ}C$ phase difference power divider and combiner exhibited good RF performances compared with the conventional passive branch-line coupler.

The Wide-band and High-gain Strip Patch Antenna coupled with a H-shaped Aperture (H모양 개구면에 스트립 급전된 광대역 및 고이득 패치 안테나)

  • The design, fabrication, and an experimental implementation of the strip patch antenna coupled with a H-shaped aperture arc presented in this paper. The proposed antenna has the wide bandwidth, high gain, and low cross-polarization levels. We measured the VSWR, smith chart impedance characteristic, co/cross polarization pattern, gain, and so on. The measured bandwidth of this antenna is 47.1 %. To reduce the back lobe and increase the gain, when the reflector is used, cross polarization level is below -18.2dB at E-plane and below 25.7 dB at H -plane. The maximum gain at 2.05 GHz is also 10.4 dBi and the 3 dB gain bandwidth with center frequency at 2.17 GHz is 24 %, which is the wide bandwidth. This antenna can find applications in mobile communication, wireless LAN, RF communication system, and so on.

  • In this paper, 30 W power Amplifier for IMT-2000 repeater was developed gain flatness and the third IMD (Intermodulation distortion) by Microwave absorber. The absorption ability of the absorber is measured up to -10 ㏈ and -4 ㏈ at 3.6 ㎓, 2.3 ㎓ band respectively. Non using absorber power amplifier has the gain over 57 ㏈, the gain flatness of ${\pm}$0.33 ㏈ and the third IMD of 27 ㏈c at 33.3 W output. Otherwise, using absorber power amplifier has the gain over 58㏈, the gain flatness of less than ${\pm}$0.9, the third IMD over 29 ㏈c at the same output power. As a result, the characteristic of the different type show improvement of 1 ㏈ in gain, 0.3 ㏈ in Gain flatness and 1.77 ㏈c in IMD.

  • This paper discussed on the directive gain improvement method of the U-type ultra wide-band(UWB) planar patch antenna model with CPW feeding. For directive gain improvement, the U-type printed patch antenna model with CPW feeding is reconstructed as a microstrip structure by adding a reflection plane with aperture slot. The reflection coefficient of the reconstructed antenna is less than -6.5 dB(VSWR < 3.3) to the characteristic impedance of $50.08{\Omega}$ and showed the directive radiation patterns with the directive gain of 7.5 dBi ~ 10.1 dBi, the front-back ratio of 17.8 dB ~ 28.7 dB and the range of -3dB radiation angle over ${\pm}30^{\circ}$ to the main beam direction of ${\theta}=0^{\circ}$.

  • Generally, the accuracy of motion control systems is strongly influenced by both the mechanical characteristics and servo characteristics of feed drive systems. In the fed drive systems of machine tools that consist of mechanical parts and electrical parts, a torsional vibration is often generated because of its elastic elements in torque transmission. Especially, a torsional vibration caused by the elasticity of mechanical elements might deteriorate the quick movement of system and lead to shorten the life time of the mechanical transmission elements. So it is necessary to analyze the electromechanical system mathematically to optimize the dynamic characteristics of the feed drive system. In this paper, based on the simplifies feed drive system model, radius errors due to position gain mismatch and servo response characteristic have been developed and an optimal criterion for tuning the gain of speed controller is discussed. The proportional and integral parameter gain of the feed drive controller are optimal design variables for the gain tuning of PI speed controller. Through the optimization problem formulation, both proportional and integral parameter are optimally tuned so as to compensate the radius errors by using the genetic algorithm. As a result, higher performance on circular profile tests has been achieved than the one with standard parameters.
