대면·비대면 맥캔지운동과 탄력밴드 근력강화운동이 노인의 낙상과 체력에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Face-to-Face and Non-Face-to-Face McKenzie Exercises and Strength Training with Elastic Bands on Falls and Fitness in Older Adults)

  • Background: This study investigated the effects of face-to-face and non-face-to-face McKenzie exercises and elastic band strengthening exercises on falls and fitness in older adults. Methods: A total of 44 subjects were divided into a face-to-face group (FG; n=22) and a non-face-to-face group (NFG; n=22) who met older adults. Both groups used McKenzie exercises and strength training with elastic bands The fall efficacy scale (K-FES) and glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) Pro were used to compare the senior fitness test (SFT). Results: No significant differences were detected between the two groups before the intervention; however, a significant difference was noted in the K-FES scores after the intervention. The change in HbA1c after the intervention was not statistically significant in the FG or the NFG, and no significant difference was detected between the two groups. The change in lower limb muscle strength in the elderly physical fitness test showed no significant difference between the two groups before or after the intervention. The change in upper limb flexibility after the intervention was not significantly different in the FG or NFG, indicating no significant difference between the two groups. The change in the 3-meter round-trip test after the intervention was significantly different in both the FG and NFG groups, but the difference between the groups was not statistically significant. The change in the grip strength test of the dominant hand showed no significant difference after the intervention in the FG or the NFG, and the difference between the FG and NFG groups was not statistically significant. The dominant foot external standing after the intervention was significantly improved in the FG, but no significant difference was detected in the NFG, and the difference between the two groups was not statistically significant. Conclusion: The study findings revealed that FG and NFG McKenzie exercises and elastic band strengthen exercises were equally effective at preventing falls and improving fitness in older adults.

Differences in Self-Esteem, Body Composition and Lower Extremity Muscle Strength based on The Type of Physical Labor in Middle-Aged Women in Their 50s

  • This study was to find out the differences in self-esteem, body composition, and muscle strength of middle-aged women, and nine physical labor groups were selected as beautification workers at D University in Cheonan, and a total of 17 were selected as non-physical labor groups were 8 full-time housewives living in Cheonan. After selecting the subjects, the subjects arrived 30 minutes before the start of the experiment and completed the self-esteem questionnaire. After taking the stability, the measurement was carried out in the order of body composition, grip strength, and isokinetic muscle function, and the independent sample t-test was conducted. First, middle-aged women's self-esteem according to the type of physical labor was high in the physical labor group in relation to others among the sub-factors. Second, there was no significant difference in body composition according to the physical labor patterns of middle-aged women. Third, there was no significant difference in lower limb isokinetic muscular strength according to the types of physical labor of middle-aged women. Third, there was no significant difference in lower limb isokinetic muscular strength according to the types of physical labor of middle-aged women. The self-esteem according to physical labor is caused by the sense of belonging in the workplace, and the difference between body composition and muscular strength is insignificant. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce a physical activity program to promote self-esteem due to aging and prevent physical deterioration regardless of occupation.

근감소증에 대한 한약 치료 : 체계적 문헌 고찰 (Herbal Medicine for Sarcopenia: A Systematic Review of Randomized Controlled Trials)

  • Objectives: Sarcopenia is an age-associated skeletal muscle disorder that can profoundly impact the health of elderly people. However, the efficacy of herbal medicine in sarcopenia is uncertain. This review aims to investigate evidence of the effect of herbal medicine on sarcopenia. Methods: We systematically searched 12 electronic databases for relevant randomized controlled trials (RCTs). Only trials that met the inclusion criteria were selected, and the characteristics of the included studies were extracted and synthesized in a narrative manner. The quality of the included studies was assessed using Cochrane's Risk of Bias (RoB) 2.0 tool. Results: 7 RCTs involving 672 participants with sarcopenia met the inclusion criteria. The intervention combining herbal medicine and conventional treatment (i.e., exercise, nutritional support) had a significant therapeutic effect compared with the conventional treatment, showing improvement in muscle strength (i.e., grip strength), muscle mass (i.e., appendicular skeletal muscle mass index), and physical function (i.e., gait speed, short physical performance battery, and timed up and go test). However, the methodological quality of the included RCTs was relatively low due to their high RoB, making it difficult to evaluate the efficacy of herbal medicine in sarcopenia. In terms of safety, several adverse events were reported. Conclusion: This review suggests that herbal medicine has a positive effect on muscle strength, muscle mass, and physical performance in elderly patients with sarcopenia, but there is a clear need for further research in this area.

Dimensional synthesis of an Inspection Robot for SG tube-sheet

  • To ensure the operational safety of nuclear power plants, we present a Quadruped Inspection Robot that can be used for many types of steam generators. Since the Inspection Robot relies on the Holding Modules to grip the tube-sheet, it can be regarded as a hybrid robot with variable configurations, switching between 4-RRR-RR, 3-RRR-RR, and two types of 2-RRR-RR, and the variable configurations bring a great challenge to dimensional synthesis. In this paper, the kinematic model of the Inspection Robot in multiple configurations is established, and the analytical solution is given. The workspace mapping is analyzed by the solution-space, and the workspace of multiple configurations is decomposed into the workspace of 2-RRR to reduce the analysis complexity, and the workspace calculation is simplified by using the envelope rings. The optimization problem of the manipulator is transformed into the calculation of the shortest contraction length of the swing leg. The switching performance of the Inspection Robot is evaluated by stride-length, turning-angle, and workspace overlap-ratio. The performance indexes are classified and transformed based on the proportions and variation trends of dimensional parameters to reduce the number of optimization objective functions, and Pareto optimal solutions are obtained using an intelligent optimization algorithm.

급성기 뇌졸중 환자에서 신경 및 정신 증상간 상호관계 (Correlations between Neurologic and Psychiatric Symptoms in Acute Stroke Patients)

  • 연구목적 : 본 연구는 뇌졸중 급성기에 신경 및 정신 증상간의 연관성을 조사하고자 하였다. 방 법 : 뇌졸중 환자 412명을 대상으로, 신경증상 중 뇌졸중의 심각성는 미국국립보건원 뇌졸중척도(NIHSS), 일상생활 수행장애는 바델지수(BI) 및 수정 랑킨척도(mRS), 인지기능은 한국판 간이정신상태검사(K-MMSE), 그리고 근력은 표준화된 악력측정을 통해 평가하였다. 정신증상은 간이정신진단검사(SCL-90-R)를 통해 9가지의 증상영역(신체화, 강박증, 대인예민성, 우울, 불안, 적대성, 공포불안, 편집증, 정신증)과 한가지의 부가적 항목을 조사하였다. 신경 및 정신 증상간 연관성은 입원 당시와 퇴원직전(뇌졸중 치료시작 전과 후)에 각각 분석하였다. 결 과 : 입원 당시 NIHSS 점수는 공포불안 및 부가항목과 연관이 있었고, BI와 mRS 점수는 우울, 공포불안, 그리고 부가항목과 연관성을 보였다. 퇴원 당시의 NIHSS 점수는 신체화, 우울, 공포불안, 부가 항목과 연관이 있었고, BI와 mRS 점수는 우울, 공포불안, 부가항목과 연관이 있었으며, MMSE 점수는 강박증, 우울, 공포불안, 부가 항목과 연관을 보였고, 악력은 신체화, 우울, 불안, 부가항목과 연관되었다. 결 론 : 뇌졸중의 급성기에는 신경 증상이 심할수록 우울, 공포불안, 수면 및 식욕 장애 등 정신 증상이 동반될 가능성이 높았다. 뇌졸중 후 신경증상이 심각한 환자에 대해 신경학적 치료와 함께 적극적인 정신과 치료가 필요하다.

규칙적인 운동이 간호대학생의 체력수준에 미치는 효과 (Effect of Regular Physical Exercise on Physical Fitness Level in Nursing Students)

  • This study was to test the relationship between regular physical exercise and physical fitness in nursing students. These subjects were 54 volunteers who agreed with intention of this study and were composed of 24 active group and 30 non-active group. The selected physical fitness tests were grip strength and back strength for measuring muscular strength, sargent jump and standing broad jump for measuring power, push-up, sit-up, and heart rate for measuring total endurance, reaction time and side step test for measuring agility, stick test and stork stand for measuring balance, and trunk flexion and trunk extension for measuring flexibility. The conclusion acquired was as follows : 1) Grip strength had significant difference between active group of $29.5{\pm}5.9kg$ and non-active group $25.4{\pm}7.2kg$(t=2.283, p=.027), and back strength between active group of $54.1{\pm}13.7kg$ and non-active group of $44.7{\pm}15.7kg$(t=2.310, p=.025), 2) Sargent jump was lower with non-active group($44.9{\pm}8.6cm$) than with active group($45.3{\pm}8.8cm$), however, was not significant(t=.182, p=.856). Standing broad jump was significantly lower with non-active group of $161.3{\pm}28.7cm$ than with active group of $191.4{\pm}27.0cm$(t=3.939, p=.000). 3) Push-up showed significant difference between active group of $25.3{\pm}12.3times$ and non-active group of $11.5{\pm}5.1times$(t=5.572, p=.000), and sit-up between active group of $21.8{\pm}7.4times$ and non-active group of $17.1{\pm}5.8times$(t=2.631, p=.011), and heart rate between actvie group of $110.5{\pm}12.8$beats/min and non-active group of $121.5{\pm}9.5$beats/min(t=-3.648, p=.001). 4) Reaction time was significantly higher with non-active group of $.300{\pm}.051sec$ than with active group of $.341{\pm}.041sec$(t=-3.285, p=.002). Side step test was lower with non-active group($8.8{\pm}1.1times$) than with active group($9.2{\pm}1.2times$), however, was not significant (t=1.309, p=.196). 5) Stick test showed not significant difference between active group of $25.8{\pm}14.8sec$ and non-active group of $30.7{\pm}17.9sec$(t=-1.058, p=.295), and stork stand between active group of $4.5{\pm}3.2sec$ and non-active group of $3.7{\pm}3.5sec$(t=.918, p=.363). 6) Trunk flexion came out not significant difference between active group of $14.2{\pm}5.0cm$ and non-active group of $15.8{\pm}7.3cm$(t=-.927, p=.358), and trunk extension between active group of $67.1{\pm}6.5cm$ and non-active group of $67.3{\pm}6.6cm$(t=-.140, p=.889). 7) Power was shown to be significantly related to total endurance(r=.717, p=.000 ; r-.739, p=.000). 8) Total endurance was shown to be significantly related to agility(r=-.752, p=.000 ; r=.684, p=.000 ; r=-.664, p=.000 ; r=.598, p=.002 ; r=.864, p=.000 ; r=-.536, p=.007). These results suggest that regular physical exercise is effective in promoting and maintaining physical fitness. As the further study, it is necessary to reinvestigate the effect with more refined design.

꽃꽂이 작업의 관절가동범위와 근육활성도 측정 및 상지기능 향상을 위한 적용사례 (Measuring Range of Motion and Muscle Activation of Flower Arrangement Tasks and Application for Improving Upper Limb Function)

  • 본 연구는 신체재활을 위해 다양한 꽃꽂이 작업들을 이용하기 위해서 꽃꽂이 작업 시 주로 사용되는 작업들을 분류하고, 각 작업 수행 시 사용되는 상지의 관절가동범위와 근육 활성도를 측정하였다. 또한 꽃꽂이 작업 시 상지의 관절 가동범위와 근육활성도 측정결과를 근거로 뇌졸중 환자의 상지기능 향상을 위한 꽃꽂이 프로그램을 개발하여, 실제 임상현장에서 적용하여 그 효과를 조사하였다. 상지 움직임을 정량적으로 분석하기 위해 주요한 꽃꽂이 작업을 분류한 다음, 작업 분석을 토대로 8가지 꽃꽂이 기본 작업(자르기 1, 굵은 줄기; 자르기 2, 가는 줄기; 꽂기 1, 긴 줄기; 꽂기 2, 짧은 줄기; 말기; 관엽 이용; 휘기 1, 굵은 줄기; 휘기 2, 가는 줄기; 감기, 절화용 와이어 이용)을 재분류하였다. 강원도 소재 대학의 8명의 남학생(평균 연령 $24.1{\pm}2.5$세)들이 8가지 꽃꽂이 작업을 수행하는 동안 삼차원 실시간 동작 분석 시스템과 근 전도 측정기를 이용하여 상지의 관절가동범위와 각 근육부위별 활성도를 각각 측정하였다. 이 측정결과를 토대로 상지기능 향상을 위한 꽃꽃이 프로그램을 개발하여, 서울시 소재 재활병원에 입원한 뇌졸중 환자들을 대상으로 실시하였다. 참여대상자들의 의사에 따라 4명은 원예치료군에 나머지 4명은 작업치료군에 배정되었다. 원예치료는 1일 2회(총 33회기)로 실시되었으며, 프로그램 전과 후에 뇌졸중 환자들의 상지기능 평가를 위해서 관절가동범위와 장악력 및 전반적인 상지기능평가가 수행되었다. 꽃꽂이 작업 수행 시 어깨관절은 자르기 1 작업에서 관절가동범위의 변화가 가장 큰 것으로 나타났고, 팔꿈치 관절은 감기 작업에서, 손목부위 관절은 휘기 1 작업에서 가장 큰 관절가동 범위를 나타냈다(P < 0.001). 수행된 꽃꽂이 작업에 따라 상지 근육의 부위별 근육 활성도는 다양한 변화를 보였으며, 한 가지 작업에 대해 여러 부위의 근육들이 동시에 사용되었다(P < 0.001). 또한 같은 방법으로 수행하는 작업일지라도 재료의 굵기나 길이에 따라 관절가동범위와 근수축의 차이가 나타났다(P < 0.001). 뇌졸중 환자의 상지기능 향상을 위해 실시된 꽃꽂이 작업을 이용한 원예치료 프로그램은 뇌졸중 환자들의 상지(어깨, 팔꿈치, 손목관절)의 가동범위와 장악력 및 전반적인 상지 기능에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 본 연구는 꽃꽂이의 주요 작업을 이용하여 특정 신체부위의 기능향상이 필요한 대상자의 재활치료를 위한 프로그램 개발에 유용한 기초자료를 제시하였다. 추가적으로 실제 재활환자의 상태에 따라 효율적인 맞춤형 원예치료 프로그램을 개발하여 그 효과를 규명하는 연구가 필요할 것이다.

초등학생의 골성숙도에 따른 체력 군집화 : 군집분석 중심으로 (A Clustering of Physical Fitness according to the Skeletal Maturation of Elementary School Students : Focused on Cluster Analysis)

  • 본 연구는 초등학생의 골연령에 따라 군집화 시켜 각 군집 그룹의 체격, 체력 및 골성숙도를 분석하고 자료 분석을 통해 초등학생들의 균형적인 발달을 위한 기초자료를 제공하는 데 있다. 연구대상은 8세~13세에 해당하는 2243명을 대상으로 하였으며 골성숙도 산출을 위해 X-ray필름을 촬영한 후 TW3 방법 점수 환산표에 적용시켜 골성숙도를 산출했다. 신장계(Hanebio, Korea, 2021)와 Inbody 270(Biospace, Korea, 2019)를 사용하여 총 2개의 체격 요소를 측정하였으며, 체력은 근력(악력), 평형성(외발서기), 민첩성(플랫테핑), 순발력(제자리멀리뛰기), 유연성(좌전굴), 근지구력(윗몸일으키기), 심폐지구력(셔틀런)으로 총 7개 체력 요소의 종목을 측정하였다. 자료처리 방법은 SPSS PC/Program(Version 26.0)과 Britics Studio Tool을 이용하여 K-Means 클러스터링 기법, 교차분석, 일원변량분석(One-Way ANOVA)을 실시하였으며, p< .05 수준에서 유의한 것으로 간주하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 미숙, 보통, 조숙의 3가지 골성숙도를 사용하여 군집화한 결과, 군집 1(미숙)은 근력, 평형성, 민첩성에서 높게 나타났다. 군집 2(보통)는 유연성에서 낮게 나타났으며, 군집 3(조숙)은 근력에서 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 초등학생의 개인특성별 군집화에 따른 체격 차이를 분석한 결과, 신장, 체중, 체지방률 모두 군집 3(조숙)이 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 초등학생의 개인특성별 군집화에 따른 체력 차이를 분석한 결과, 악력검사(좌, 우)는 군집 3(조숙)이 높게 나타났고 외발서기의 경우 군집 1(미숙)이 높게 나타났으며, 제자리멀리뛰기의 경우 군집 3(조숙)이 높게 나타났다.

장기간에 걸친 에어로빅 댄스운동이 고령 여성의 신체조성, 체력 및 심리적인 요인에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Long-term Aerobic Dancing Exercise on the Body Composition, Fitness and Mental Function of the Elderly Women)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 장기간에 걸친 에어로빅 댄스운동이 70세 이상인 고령 여성의 신체조성, 체력 및 인지기능 및 우울정도를 포함하는 심리적인 요인에 대해서 유의미한 영향을 미치는지를 분석하고자 하는 것이다. 본 연구에 참여한 피험자들은 전원이 70세~85세인 고령여성이었으며, 실험군의 경우에는 운동경력이 평균적으로 9.2 ± 4.6년으로써, 주당 2 ~ 3회 정도의 에어로빅 운동을 꾸준히 수행한 자들로 이루어져 있는 반면에, 대조군의 경우에는 이렇다 할 규칙적인 운동을 수행하지 않은 자들이었다. 본 연구를 수행한 결과, 내장지방량, 복부지방율(%), 체수분량 및 수축기 혈압 값 등에서 대조군에 비해 유의미한 건강증진 효과가 관측되었다. 또한, 체력 요인의 경우에는, 에어로빅 운동군의 유연성, 평형성 및 보행기능 값이 대조군에 비해서 유의미하게 더 높은 값을 나타내었다. GDS 값의 경우에는 대조군에 비해서 에어로빅 운동군이 유의미하게 더 낮은 값을 나타내었다. 두 종류의 심리적인 요인인 MMSE 값과 GDS값이 다른 신체측정 변인들과 유의미한 상관관계를 나타내는지를 분석한 결과에서는, MMSE 값의 경우에는 단지 신장에 대해서 유의미한 역 상관관계를 나타낸 반면에, GDS 값의 경우에는 안정시 심박수, 우측 허리 유연성 및 좌측과 우측의 악력에 대해서는 유의미한 음의 상관관계를 나타내었고, 수축기 혈압 및 보행기능 값에 대해서는 유의미한 양의 상관관계를 나타내었다. 결론적으로, 70세 이상의 고령 여성을 대상으로 하는 장기간에 걸친 에어로빅 운동은 대사적인 면에서 내장지방 면적과 수축기 혈압을 감소시킬 뿐 아니라, 낙상을 예방할 수 있는 건강 체력을 증진시키고, 우울증상을 경감시켜서 긍정적인 기분을 나타내게 하는 등의 다방면에 걸친 유익한 건강증진 효과를 나타낸 것으로 사료된다.

Correlation between BMI and Physical Fitness of College Women in Seoul

  • This study investigated the correlation of the physical measurements and the basic physical fitness of 158 female students in the city of Seoul. The average age of the subjects was 22.0 ${\pm}$ 0.13 years old, the average height was 160.9 ${\pm}$ 0.7cm and the average weight was 53.4 ${\pm}$ 0.6kg. The mean BMI (Body Mass Index) was 20.7 ${\pm}$ 0.2kg/㎡. The average muscle mass was 36.5 ${\pm}$ 0.3 and the average body fat percentage was 28.0 ${\pm}$ 0.4%. The basic fitness levels of the subjects were measured based on the evaluation chart of the Korea Health and Science Research Institution (1994). The subjects were divided into 3 groups based on BMI(Group I : BMI < 20, Group II : 20 $\leq$ BMI < 25, Group III BMI $\geq$ 25) and the correlation between BMI and physical fitness was assessed. 1) The muscle strength of the subjects was measured by their grip strength, among other tests. Groups 1 and 2 were evaluated as “su” (level 1) and group 3 was “woo” (level 2). 2) Endurance 1 was tested by push-ups, and while groups 1 and 2 were evaluated as “su” (level 1), group 3 was “ga” (level 5). This result did not suggest any significant relevance among the subjects. 3) Endurance 2 was tested by sit-ups : groups 1 and 2 were evaluated as “mi” (level 3) and group 3 as “yang” (level 4). Group 2 and group 3 showed a significant difference. 4) Instant power was tested by standing high jumps, and although there was a significant difference between group 1 and group 3, all of the subjects were evaluated as “ga” (level 5). 5) Flexibility was measured by how far the subjects could bend forward. There was no significant relevance between the groups and they were all respectively evaluated as “woo” (level 2). 6) Agility was tested with side-steps and all the subjects showed poor agility as “yang” (level 4). 7) Heart and lung endurance was tested by the step test, calculating the maximum oxygen intake with the Physical Energy Index (PEI) and using the numbers according to the evaluation chart. Group 1 was evaluated as “mi” (level 3) and groups 2 and 3 were “woo” (level 2). From these results, we could see the group III (obese group) had a tendency of lower levels in all the variables related to body fitness They showed significantly lower endurance assessed with time for sit-ups and instant power by the standing high jumps.
