음주(飮酒) 및 흡연(吸煙)이 Aminotransferase 활성치(活性値)에 미치는 영향(影響) (Effect of Drinking and Smoking on AST and ALT Activities)

  • 간기능에 대한 음주와 흡연의 영향을 보기 위해서 1986년 12월 25일부터 1987년 4월 30일까지 약 4개월에 걸쳐 대구의료원을 찾은 채용신체검사 수검자들 중에서 AST 및 ALT 활성도검사, 간염 항원 항체검사, 간디스토마 피내반응검사를 실시한 900명의 검사성적과 설문지를 분석하여 AST 및 ALT 이상자율을 비교검토 하였다. AST 및 ALT 이상자율을 유해인자 수별로 보면 간기능 유해요인수의 증가에 따라 이상자율이 높았다. 특히 HBs-Ag, 음주 및 흡연의 상호복합작용에 있어서 AST 및 ALT 이상자율이 높았다. 단일 음주군, 흡연군에 대한 연령에 따른 AST 및 ALT 이상자율은 유의한 상관성이 없었고, 30대에서 다소 이상자율이 높게 나타났다. 단일 음주군의 AST 및 ALT 이상자율은 음주기간이 길 수록, 음주량이 많을 수록, 음주빈도가 잦을 수록 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 다만, 막걸리와 소량의 맥주 음주자에게서는 이상자가 없었다. 단일 흡연군의 전이효소 활성치 이상자율도 흡연기간이 길 수록, 일일 흡연량이 많을 수록 증가하는 경향이었다. 음주 및 흡연군에 대한 AST 및 ALT의 이상자율은 변량상관행렬에서 음주와 흡연기간이 길수록, 흡연량 및 나이가 많을수록 높았으며, 다중회귀분석결과는 음주기간, 음주량 및 음주빈도와는 유의한 상관성을 보였으나, 흡연량, 흡연기간과는 유의한 상관성이 없었다. AST 및 ALT의 이상율에 대한 이들 선택된 변수들은 13.0%의 설명력을 가지고 있다.

부인암 환자의 복합항암화학요법 후 가정간호중재 효과 (The Effect of Home Care Nursing Intervention in Gynecologic Cancer Patients with Combination Chemotherapy)

  • Purpose: This study was designed to evaluate the effect of home care nursing intervention with parenteral hydration and IV anti-emetic therapy on distress, nutritional status, anxiety, depression and QOL in gynecologic cancer patients who were undergoing combination chemotherapy. Methods: Quasi-experimental design was used to test the intervention. Changes of result variables were measured to evaluate effects of the intervention. variables consisted of serum lab results(auto analytic equipment for lab), symptom distress Scale(McCorkle & Young, 1978; Song et al., 2000), nutritional status(body weight, circumference of upper arm, serum protein, serum albumin, oral intake per day), anxiety(Spielberger, 1972; Kim & Shin, 1978), depression(Zung, 1965; Kim, 1995) and QOL(Padilla et al., 1983; Lee & Jo, 1996). Subjects were selected among gynecologic cancer patients(EG 15 patients and CG 15 patients) by convenient sampling. Data collection was done from June to Nov. in 2000. Data were analyzed by Chi-test and Mann-whitney U test using SPSS Win 10.0. Result: Hypothesis 1, the EG receiving this intervention equals to lab test(Hb & ANC, GOT & GPT, BUN & Cr) the CG, was supported(u=69.50 p=.074; u=94.50, p= .455; u= 89.50, p= .339; u=106.50, p= .803; u=75.00, p= .119; u=97.50, p= .523). Hypothesis 2, the EG has less symptom distress than the CG, was also supported(u=43.50, p= .004). Hypothesis 3, the EG has higher nutritional status than the CG, was partially supported on daily oral intake (u=59.00, p= .025). Hypothesis 4, the EG has less anxiety than the CG, was rejected(u=86.50, p= .280). Hypothesis 5, the EG has less depression than the CG, was rejected(u=203.50, p= .228). and the last hypothesis 6, the EG has higher QOL than the CG was supported (u=51.50, p= .011). Conclusion: Home care nursing intervention undergone in this study was found to be effective to reduce patients' symptom distress and to improve their oral intake and QOL.

혈부축어탕(血府逐瘀湯) 추출물(抽出物)이 고지방식이(高脂肪食餌)로 유발(誘潑)시킨 고지혈증(高脂血症) 흰쥐의 혈액(血液) 및 간(肝) 기능(機能)에 미치는 영향(影響) (Effects of Hyolbuchukeo-tang Extracts on Blood and liver of Hyperlipidemia Rats Induced by High Fat Diet)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of Hyolbuchukeo-tang extracts on the hyperlipidemia rats induced by high fat diet. Methods and Materials: In vitro; The extracts prepared for Hyolbuchukeo-tang by hot water extraction (HH), fermentation(HF) and UMPM extraction(HU) method. The extracts were examined for levels of polyphenol compounds, antioxidant activities, and inhibitory potencies for HMG-CoA reductase. In vivo; Sprague-Dawley male rats of weighing $150{\pm}5g$ were randomly divided into six groups ; normal control diet(NC), and high fat diet(HC), high fat diet with treated lovastatin of 10mg/kg(PC), high fat diet with Hyolbuchukeo-tang extracts; HH, HF and HU treated extracts of 300mg/kg, respectively. Also, we compared the effects of the extracts of HH, HF and HU on rats fed high fat diet for four weeks. Results: 1. The content of polyphenol compounds and electron donating abilities(EDAs) was the HF higher than HH and HU. The superoxide dismutase(SOD)-like activities were proportionate in consistency and they appeared highly from all extracts. The HMG-CoA reductase inhibition activities was highest activities in the HU. 2. The activities of serum GOT and GPT were significantly lower in the HH and HF groups. The level of serum triglyceride was significantly decreased in the HF group. HH and HU groups were significantly decreased in the atherogenic index(AI). The total cholesterol concentration in liver was significantly decreased in the HF group, and HU showed more significantly decreased in the triglyceride than of the lovastatin. Also, photomicrographs of liver tissue showed higher fat accumulation in the HC group than in the HH, HF and HU groups. Conclusions: These result suggest that the hyper-lipidemia caused by a high fat diet was effectively inhibited the administration of HF and HU.

Alteration of X-linked Inhibitors of Apoptosis (XIAP) Expression in Rat Model with DEN-induced Hepatocellular Carcinogenesis

  • The X-linked inhibitor of apoptosis (XIAP) is a member of a novel family of inhibitors of apoptosis and has several BIR domains (BIR1, BIR2, and BIR3) and a carboxy-terminal RING zinc-finger. Since suppressionof apoptosis is fundamentally important for carcinogenesis and tumor growth, we investigated the expression and function of XIAP in DEN-induced carcinogenesis using rat model. Wistar rats were injected intraperitoneally with DEN at a dose of 50 mg/kg in twice a week for 12 weeks (Group II) and 16 weeks (Group III) followed by the recovery periods, respectively. The evaluation of DEN-induced carcinogenesis carried out the blood, RT-PCR, histopathological and western blot analysis. The level of blood chemistry including GOT/GPT, albumin, and total bilirubin were significantly exchanged comparing to control and Group I/Group II. The expression of albumin and collagen mRNA were significantly exchanged (P<0.05) in both groups. In addition, AFP mRNA expression decreased more after recovery periods than Group II. XIAP was expressed constitutively in normal rat liver as well as DEN-induced Groups I and Group II. In addition, XIAP expression increased more in Group I with 4 weeks recovery periods than Group I. However, XIAP expression shown to increase in Group lI, otherwise, it was decreased in Group II with 10 weeks repair periods. Taken together, these results suggest the alteration of XIAP expression could be involved in hepatocellular carcinogenesis.

Growth Performance and Meat Quality of Broiler Chicks Fed Germinated and Fermented Soybeans

  • This study was conducted to investigate the dietary effects of germinated and fermented (with Monascus pupureus) soybean screenings (GFS) on growth performance and meat quality in broiler chicken. A total of 750 1-day-old Ross ${\times}$ Ross male broiler chicks were randomly allocated into five groups (five replications with 30 birds each) and fed experimental diets for 5 wks as follows: Group 1, negative-control (antibiotics-free diet); Group 2, positive-control (negative-control with 10 ppm of Avilamycin); Group 3, negative-control with 0.3% GFS; Group 4, negative-control with 0.5% GFS; Group 5, negative-control with 1% GFS. The final body weight of each group fed a diet containing 1% GFS was significantly higher than that of the negative-control group. The feed conversion ratios of all groups fed diets containing GFS and the positivecontrol group were significantly improved compared to the negative-control group during the whole period (p<0.05). The relative weights of various organs along with the activities of serum glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase (GOT) and glutamic pyruvic transaminase (GPT) were not influenced by the dietary treatments. The levels of total serum cholesterol in groups fed diets containing 0.5% and 1% GFS were more significantly lowered compared to those of the control groups without GFS (p<0.05). There were no significant differences in the cecal microflora profiles among the groups. Further, the dietary treatments did not influence the physico-chemical properties of the edible meat, including the shear force, pH, meat color (CIE $L^*$, $a^*$ and $b^*$), and content of malondialdehyde (MDA). Cooking loss of breast muscle in the groups fed GFS was significantly lowered compared to that of the negative control group (p<0.05). These results indicate that dietary GFS could improve growth performance in broiler chicken and may affect meat quality in some instances.

고콜레스테롤 식이로 유도된 고지혈증 모델 흰쥐에서 새송이 버섯 첨가 어묵의 섭취가 지질 대사 및 효소 활성에 미치는 영향 (Characteristics of Surimi Gel (King Oyster Mushroom and Cuttlefish Meat Paste) on Lipid Metabolism and Antioxidant Status in High-cholesterol-fed Rats)

  • 본 연구는 새송이 버섯을 첨가하여 만든 어묵이 체내 지질 대사와 효소 활성에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 수컷 Sprague-Dawley 흰쥐 30마리를 대상으로 고콜레스테롤(1%)첨가 기본식이, 30% 일반어묵 첨가 식이와 40% 새송이 버섯 첨가 오징어 어묵 식이를 급여하였다. 평균 식이 섭취량은 대조군, 일반 어묵군, 새송이 버섯 첨가 오징어 어묵군에 따른 각 군 간의 유의적인 차이는 볼 수 없었다. 체중 증가량과 식이효율은 대조군에 비해 실험군 모두 유의적으로 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 혈장 중성지질과 총 콜레스테롤, 동맥경화지수(A.I), GOT, GPT 수준은 대조군이 새송이 버섯 첨가 오징어 어묵군에 비해 유의적으로 높게 나타났다. HDL-콜레스테롤의 경우 새송이 버섯 첨가 오징어 어묵군이 대조군과 일반 어묵군보다 낮게 나타났고, 간조직의 콜레스테롤 및 중성 지방 농도는 유의적으로 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 혈장과 간조직 TBARS 수준은 대조군보다 새송이 버섯 첨가 오징어 어묵군에서 유의적으로 낮은 수치를 보였다. 항산화 효소 활성도에서 SOD활성도는 대조군과 일반 어묵과의 유의적인 차이가 없었으며, CAT활성도는 대조군보다 새송이 버섯 첨가 어묵이 유의적으로 높게 나타났으며. GPx활성도 역시 유의적으로 높게 나타났다. 이 결과들을 종합해 보면, 고콜레스테롤혈증 흰쥐에서의 새송이 버섯 첨가 오징어 어묵은 전반적인 지질대사 개선과 함께 SOD, CAT, GPx와 같은 항산화 효소의 활성을 증가시켜 항산화 방어계에도 긍정적인 효과를 나타냄으로써 앞으로 고콜레스테롤 혈증 예방 등의 혈관 순환기 계통 질병을 예방하기 위한 식품으로써의 활용이 기대된다.

전해환원수 음용이 마우스의 혈액과 장기조직에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Electrolyzed Reduced Water on Blood and Organ Tissues of Mice)

  • 본 연구는 전해환원수 음용에 대한 안전성을 조사하기 위하여 실험동물을 이용하여 사망률 확인, 체중 비교, 혈액의 생화학적 변화, 염증, 면역세포의 비교, 내부 장기의 형태적 변화, 장기의 무게 변화 및 조직학적 검사를 통하여 전해환원수가 생체에 미치는 영향을 확인한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 전해환원수를 급이한 실험군에서 사망, 행동 및 외형 이상 유무 관찰 결과 아무런 증상이 나타나지 않았으며, 체중은 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 실험군에서 혈액의 생화학적요소인 $K^+$, $Cl^-$, $Ca^{2+}$, GPT, GOT, CRE 및 ALP에서는 유의한 수준의 변화가 관찰되지 않았으나 $Na^+$와 BUN에서는 실험군이 대조군에 비해 더 감소되었다. 혈액 내 면역세포를 비교한 결과 호염기구, 호산성구 및 단핵구 등은 큰 차이가 없으며, 실험군에서 호중구는 감소하였고, 림프구는 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 또한 위, 소장, 심장 및 간을 조직학적으로 관찰한 결과 모든 장기에서 병리적 이상 소견은 관찰되지 않았다. 따라서 본 연구를 통하여 전해환원수는 생체에서 큰 문제를 유발시키지 않는 안전한 물임을 알 수 있었고 국내에서 전해환원수에 대한 연구가 거의 없는 실정이기 때문에 전해환원수의 안전성을 입증하기 위한 기초자료 마련 및 제공에 의의가 있다고 할 수 있다.

고도비만 환자의 수술적 치료방법에 따른 영양교육 기준 설정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Standards of Medical-Nutritional-Education by the Type of Bariatric Surgery in Morbid-obesity Patients)

  • This study examined the effects of postoperative medical nutrition therapy on patients who had undergone bariatric surgery. Eighty seven patients who underwent bariatic-surgery at Yeouido St. Mary's Hospital from January 2007 to April 2009 were evaluated. The bariatric surgery patients included 42 Laparoscopic Roux-en Y gastric bypass (LRYGB) and 45 Laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding (LAGB) patients. Weight loss was more significant after LRYGB than after LAGB after 9 months (p<0.05). The LRYGB group was more satisfied with the weight loss (LRYGB 4.4/5.0, LAGB 3.0/5.0 p<0.001). The mean albumin, hemoglobin and hematocrit levels were significantly lower in the LRYGB group than in the LAGB group at the time of discharge (p<0.05~0.001). The GOT/GPT was significantly higher in the LRYGB group at the time of the operation than the LAGB group (p<0.01). The LRYGB group showed significantly lower intakes of total energy, carbohydrates, protein and fat from 1 week after surgery than the LAGB group. Multiple regression showed that the weight change after LRYGB was significantly more associated with the intakes of total energy at 1 week after surgery (p<0.01), SWS (sweets and high-calorie beverages) at 1 and 6 months after surgery (p<0.001), and fat at 3 months after surgery (p<0.01). In addition, LAGB was significantly more associated with the intakes of protein and NLS (non-liquid sweets) at 1 week after surgery (p<0.001, p<0.01), carbohydrate at 1 months after surgery (p<0.01), total energy at 3 months after surgery (p<0.001), HCL (high-calorie liquids) at 6 months after surgery (p<0.05), and fat at 9 months after surgery (p<0.01). These results suggest that continuous-follow-up medical nutrition therapy is needed according to the types of bariatric surgery, particularly during the weight loss phase (the first 1 week to 12 months).

항산화물 첨가 가열산화유가 흰쥐의 혈청과 조직에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Antioxidants Added Thermally Oxidized Oil on Serum and Tissue in Rats)

  • This study was carried out to study influence of antioxidants on serum and tissue of rats fed with thermally oxidized oil. The experimental animals used 30male rats of sprague-dawley weighting $150{\pm}25g$. They are divided into 5 groups and fed to experimental diets which are composed of 15% thermally oxidized oil in addition to ascorbic acid, Vitamin E, Ethylendintrioteraaceticacid(EDTA) and none added oxidized oil by heat and fresh soybean oil group. Thermally oxidized oil was prepared from the soybean oil by heating at $180^{\circ}C$ for 30 hours. After feeding for 4 weeks, the result are as follows; 1. Body weight gain were lower B diet group than A diet group. 2. Total cholesterol levels in serum of all experimental diet groups except B diet group were higher than that of A diet group. 3. HDL-cholesterol levels of all experimental diet groups except E diet group were lower than that of A diet group. 4. The activities of GOT, GPT in serum of all experimental diet groups except B diet group and D diet group were higher than that of A diet group. 5. Vitamin E levels in serum of E diet group were highest than that of all experimental diet groups, and Vitamin E levels in liver of A diet group were highest than that of all experimental diet groups. 6. Lipid peroxide in Serum were highest B diet group than that of all experimental diet groups and the other experimental diet group significantly lower than that of the A diet group. 7. Lipid peroxide in liver of all experimental diet group except E diet group were significantly higher than that A diet group and lipid peroxide in kidney of all experimental diet group except B diet group were lower than that of A diet group. Four these results, as Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and EDTA added diets have effect of thermally oil by antioxidants, it could be suggested that thermally soybean oil diet has required to add antioxidant because it has not sufficient Vitamin E for antioxidant and intake and overtake level of thermally soybean oil diet should be studied to go ahead.

Aloe가 알코올을 섭취한 흰쥐의 간 기능 및 지질대사에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Aloe on Liver Function and Lipid Metabolism in Alcohol-Consuming Rats)

  • The effects of aloe on liver function and lipid metabolic disorders induced by alcohol consumption were studied in rats using aloe power (0.25%, 0.5%, 1%) and 10% ethanol. 35 Sprague-Dawley (male, 4 weeks old) rats were divided into five groups and fed experimental diets for six weeks. Body weights of rats tended to be lower in all alcohol supplemented groups than in the control. Food intakes and dry feces per day were significantly lower in all alcohol supplemented groups than in the control. Atherogenic indices (AI) were highest in the alcohol group and decreased in proportion with aloe amount. Serum triglyceride level was significantly higher in the alcohol group than in the control, but tended to be lower in the aloe supplemented groups. In relation to liver function, glutamate oxaloacetate transaminase (GOT), glutamate pyruvate transaminase (GPT), and alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activities tended to be higher in the alcohol groups than in the control, but lower in the aloe groups, especially in the alcohol+0.5% AO group. The levels of liver cholesterol were significantly lower in the alcohol group than in the control and aloe supplemented groups. In the histochemical evaluation, fat droplets appeared extensively on the liver-lobule in the alcohol group, whereas they decreased slightly in the alcohol+0.25% AO group and apparently disappeared in the alcohol +0.5% AO. On the other hand, fat droplets appeared again on the liver-lobule in the alcohol+1% AO group, but were reduced compared with the alcohol group. Regarding the fatty acid composition of adipose tissue triglycerides, the level of linoleic acid (18:2) was significantly higher in the aloe supplemented group. Regarding the fatty acid composition of liver phosphatidylcholine (PC), the level of linoleic acid was higher in the alcohol group and alcohol+1% AO group than the other groups. In contrast, the level of arachidonic acid was significantly lower in the alcohol group. As a result, arachidonic / linoleic acid ratios were significantly lower in the alcohol group compared to the control group, whereas the ratios of the aloe supplemented groups were similar to that of the control group. Therefore, aloe had some beneficial effects on lipid metabolic disorders induced by alcohol and affected desaturation of fatty acids.
