The SinGAN is one of generative adversarial networks that can be trained on a single nature image. It has poor ability to learn more global features from nature image, and losses much local detail information when it generates arbitrary size image sample. To solve the problem, a non-linear function is firstly proposed to control downsampling ratio that is ratio between the size of current image and the size of next downsampled image, to increase the ratio with increase of the number of downsampling. This makes the low-resolution images obtained by downsampling have higher proportion in all downsampled images. The low-resolution images usually contain much global information. Therefore, it can help the model to learn more global feature information from downsampled images. Secondly, the attention mechanism is introduced to the generative network to increase the weight of effective image information. This can make the network learn more local details. Besides, in order to make the output image more natural, the TVLoss function is introduced to the loss function of SinGAN, to reduce the difference between adjacent pixels and smear phenomenon for the output image. A large number of experimental results show that our proposed model has better performance than other methods in generating random samples with fixed size and arbitrary size, image harmonization and editing.

Recently, malware classification based on Deep Neural Networks (DNN) has gained significant attention due to the rise in popularity of artificial intelligence (AI). DNN-based malware classifiers are a novel solution to combat never-before-seen malware families because this approach is able to classify malwares based on structural characteristics rather than requiring particular signatures like traditional malware classifiers. However, these DNN-based classifiers have been found to lack robustness against malwares that are carefully crafted to evade detection. These specially crafted pieces of malware are referred to as adversarial examples. We consider a clever adversary who has a thorough knowledge of DNN-based malware classifiers and will exploit it to generate a crafty malware to fool DNN-based classifiers. In this paper, we propose a DNN-based malware classifier that becomes resilient to these kinds of attacks by exploiting Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) based data augmentation. The experimental results show that the proposed scheme classifies malware, including AEs, with a false positive rate (FPR) of 3.0% and a balanced accuracy of 70.16%. These are respective 26.1% and 18.5% enhancements when compared to a traditional DNN-based classifier that does not exploit GAN.
To inspect the power facility faults using artificial intelligence, it need that improve the accuracy of the diagnostic model are required. Data augmentation skill using generative adversarial network (GAN) is one of the best ways to improve deep learning performance. GAN model can create realistic-looking fake images using two competitive learning networks such as discriminator and generator. In this study, we intend to verify the effectiveness of virtual data generation technology by including the fake image of power facility generated through GAN in the deep learning training set. The GAN-based fake image was created for damage of LP insulator, and ResNet based normal and defect classification model was developed to verify the effect. Through this, we analyzed the model accuracy according to the ratio of normal and defective training data.

Although Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) have gained great popularity in computer vision and related fields, generating audio signals independently has yet to be presented. Unlike images, an audio signal is a sampled signal consisting of discrete samples, so it is not easy to learn the signals using CNN architectures, which is widely used in image generation tasks. In order to overcome this difficulty, GAN researchers proposed a strategy of applying time-frequency representations of audio to existing image-generating GANs. Following this strategy, we propose an improved method for increasing the fidelity of synthesized audio signals generated by using GANs. Our method is demonstrated on a public speech dataset, and evaluated by Fréchet Inception Distance (FID). When employing our method, the FID showed 10.504, but 11.973 as for the existing state of the art method (lower FID indicates better fidelity).

Recently, the models of deep super-resolution networks can successfully learn the non-linear mapping from the low-resolution inputs to high-resolution outputs. However, for large scaling factors, this approach has difficulties in learning the relation of low-resolution to high-resolution images, which lead to the poor restoration. In this paper, we propose Stage Generative Adversarial Networks (Stage-GAN) with semantic maps for image super-resolution (SR) in large scaling factors. We decompose the task of image super-resolution into a novel semantic map based reconstruction and refinement process. In the initial stage, the semantic maps based on the given low-resolution images can be generated by Stage-0 GAN. In the next stage, the generated semantic maps from Stage-0 and corresponding low-resolution images can be used to yield high-resolution images by Stage-1 GAN. In order to remove the reconstruction artifacts and blurs for high-resolution images, Stage-2 GAN based post-processing module is proposed in the last stage, which can reconstruct high-resolution images with photo-realistic details. Extensive experiments and comparisons with other SR methods demonstrate that our proposed method can restore photo-realistic images with visual improvements. For scale factor ${\times}8$, our method performs favorably against other methods in terms of gradients similarity.
Recently, with the explosive development of computing power, various methods such as RNN and CNN have been proposed under the name of Deep Learning, which solve many problems of Computer Vision have. The Generative Adversarial Network, released in 2014, showed that the problem of computer vision can be sufficiently solved in unsupervised learning, and the generation domain can also be studied using learned generators. GAN is being developed in various forms in combination with various models. Machine learning has difficulty in collecting data. If it is too large, it is difficult to refine the effective data set by removing the noise. If it is too small, the small difference becomes too big noise, and learning is not easy. In this paper, we apply a deep CNN model for extracting facial region in image frame to GAN model as a preprocessing filter, and propose a method to produce composite images of various facial expressions by stably learning with limited collection data of two persons.

While deep neural networks have achieved remarkable performance in representation learning, a huge amount of labeled training data are usually required by supervised deep models such as convolutional neural networks. In this paper, we propose a new representation learning method, namely generative adversarial networks (GAN) based bagging deep convolutional autoencoders (GAN-BDCAE), which can map data to diverse hierarchical representations in an unsupervised fashion. To boost the size of training data, to train deep model and to aggregate diverse learning machines are the three principal avenues towards increasing the capabilities of representation learning of neural networks. We focus on combining those three techniques. To this aim, we adopt GAN for realistic unlabeled sample generation and bagging deep convolutional autoencoders (BDCAE) for robust feature learning. The proposed method improves the discriminative ability of learned feature embedding for solving subsequent pattern recognition problems. We evaluate our approach on three standard benchmarks and demonstrate the superiority of the proposed method compared to traditional unsupervised learning methods.

Although significant progress has been made in synthesizing visually realistic face images by Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), there still lacks effective approaches to provide fine-grained control over the generation process for semantic facial attribute editing. In this work, we propose a novel cross channel self-attention based generative adversarial network (CCA-GAN), which weights the importance of multiple channels of features and archives pixel-level feature alignment and conversion, to reduce the impact on irrelevant attributes while editing the target attributes. Evaluation results show that CCA-GAN outperforms state-of-the-art models on the CelebA dataset, reducing Fréchet Inception Distance (FID) and Kernel Inception Distance (KID) by 15~28% and 25~100%, respectively. Furthermore, visualization of generated samples confirms the effect of disentanglement of the proposed model.

Generative adversarial networks (GAN) have been successfully used in many image restoration tasks, including image denoising, super-resolution, and compression artifact reduction. By fully exploiting its characteristics, state-of-the-art image restoration techniques can be used to generate images with photorealistic details. However, there are many applications that require faithful rather than visually appealing image reconstruction, such as medical imaging, surveillance, and video coding. We found that previous GAN-training methods that used a loss function in the form of a weighted sum of fidelity and adversarial loss fails to reduce fidelity loss. This results in non-negligible degradation of the objective image quality, including peak signal-to-noise ratio. Our approach is to alternate between fidelity and adversarial loss in a way that the minimization of adversarial loss does not deteriorate the fidelity. Experimental results on compression-artifact reduction and super-resolution tasks show that the proposed method can perform faithful and photorealistic image restoration.

Classification problem is to predict the class to which an input data belongs. One of the most popular methods to do this is training a machine learning algorithm using the given dataset. In this case, the dataset should have a well-balanced class distribution for the best performance. However, when the dataset has an imbalanced class distribution, its classification performance could be very poor. To overcome this problem, we propose an over-sampling scheme that balances the number of data by using Conditional Generative Adversarial Networks (CGAN). CGAN is a generative model developed from Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN), which can learn data characteristics and generate data that is similar to real data. Therefore, CGAN can generate data of a class which has a small number of data so that the problem induced by imbalanced class distribution can be mitigated, and classification performance can be improved. Experiments using actual collected data show that the over-sampling technique using CGAN is effective and that it is superior to existing over-sampling techniques.
