  • This paper presents a new speed control scheme of the spindle induction motor (IM) using fuzzy-logic control in field weakening region. The implementation of the proposed FLC-based spindle IM are investigated and compared to those obtained from the conventional PI controller based drive system, we have confirmed good simulation and experimental results at different dynamic operating conditions such as sudden change in command speed, step change, etc.

  • For the interior permanent magnet synchronous motor(IPMSM) drive to operate above the base speed in the constant horsepower region, the field weakening control is applied. However, the field weakening control was not almost applied to sensorless control of the interior permanent magnet synchronous motor. In this paper, the field weakening control is applied to the sensorless control of IPMSM based on the fuzzy controller. The effectiveness of the proposed system is verified by the experimental results.

Performance Evaluation of Pixel Clustering Approaches for Automatic Detection of Small Bowel Obstruction from Abdominal Radiographs

  • Plain radiographic analysis is the initial imaging modality for suspected small bowel obstruction. Among the many features that affect the diagnosis of small bowel obstruction (SBO), the presence of gas-filled or fluid-filled small bowel loops is the most salient feature that can be automatized by computer vision algorithms. In this study, we compare three frequently applied pixel-clustering algorithms for extracting gas-filled areas without human intervention. In a comparison involving 40 suspected SBO cases, the Possibilistic C-Means and Fuzzy C-Means algorithms exhibited initialization-sensitivity problems and difficulties coping with low intensity contrast, achieving low 72.5% and 85% success rates in extraction. The Adaptive Resonance Theory 2 algorithm is the most suitable algorithm for gas-filled region detection, achieving a 100% success rate on 40 tested images, largely owing to its dynamic control of the number of clusters.

  • 본 논문에서는 디지털 영상에서 얼굴 영상 검출을 위해 픽셀의 퍼지 소속도를 이용하여 신경망으로 학습하는 퍼지 신경망을 이용한 얼굴영상 검출을 제안한다. 입력 영상의 피라미드 영상에서 추출된 20$\times$20 윈도우 영상 안의 각 픽셀의 소속도로 얼굴 영상 패턴을 학습하여 얼굴 영상을 검출하는 방법은 단순히 영상의 픽셀 값 하나씩만을 고려해서 각 픽셀의 소속도를 고려하여 수행하는 얼굴 영상 분할보다 얼굴 영상을 더 정확하고 인식률이 높게 검출해 낼 수 있다.

  • This paper suggests on evaluation of risk level for damage of marine accidents in SRRs. This paper intoduces a concept of fuzzy logic with the plenty of related literature riview, fuzzy measure t-seminormed fuzzy integral and in the Korean. SRRs of RCC and RSC. The methodology of this paper is max$\cdot$min composition of fuzzy extensive principle, defuzzifiation is centroid of gravity methods. And final evaluation value using t-seminormed fuzzy integral. At the result, the evaluation of risk level is especially over Serious for marine accident of Mokpo, Tongyoung, Busan SRRs. This paper recommends tint many Rescue Vessels and Equipments need to the reduction of risk level about those.

  • We introduce an x-ray micro tomography system capable of high resolution imaging of a local region inside a small animal. By combining two kinds of projection data, one from a full field-of-view (FOV) scan of the whole body and the other from a limited FOV scan of the region of interest, we have obtained zoomed-in images of the region of interest without any contrast a nomalies. We have integrated a micro tomography system using a micro-focus x-ray source, a $1248\times1248$ flat-panel x-ray detector, and a precision scan mechanism. Using the cross-sectional images taken with the zoom-in micro tomography system, we measured trabecular thicknesses of femur bones in postmortem rats. To compensate the limited spatial resolution in the zoom-in micro tomography images, we used the fuzzy distance transform for the calculation of the trabecular thickness. To validate the trabecular thickness measurement with the zoom-in micro tomography images, we compared the measurement results with the ones obtained from the conventional micro tomography images of the extracted bone samples.

  • In this paper, the wavelet transform is performed in the input 256$\times$256 color image and decomposes a image into low-pass and high-pass components. Since the high-pass band contains the components of three directions, edges are detected by combining three parts. After finding the position of face using the histogram of the edge component, a face region in low-pass band is cut off. Since RGB color image is sensitively affected by luminances, the image of low pass component is normalized, and a facial region is detected using face color informations. As the wavelet transform decomposes the detected face region into three layer, the dimension of input image is reduced. In this paper, we use the 3000 images of 10 persons, and KL transform is applied in order to classify face vectors effectively. FCM(Fuzzy C-Means) algorithm classifies face vectors with similar features into the same cluster. In this case, the number of cluster is equal to that of person, and the mean vector of each cluster is used as a codebook. We verify the system performance of the proposed algorithm by the experiments. The recognition rates of learning images and testing image is computed using correlation coefficient and Euclidean distance.

  • Image segmentation is one of the important processes in the image information extraction for computer vision systems. The fuzzy clustering methods have been extensively used in the image segmentation because it extracts feature information of the region. Most of fuzzy clustering methods have used the Fuzzy C-means(FCM) algorithm. This algorithm can be misclassified about the different size of cluster because the degree of membership depends on highly the distance between data and the centroids of the clusters. This paper proposes a fuzzy clustering algorithm using the Average Intracluster Distance that classifies data uniformly without regard to the size of data sets.   • Due to the clutch's non-linear dynamics, time-delays, external disturbance and parameter uncertainty, the automated clutch is difficult to control precisely during the launch process or automatic mechanical transmission (AMT) vehicles. In this paper, an enhanced fuzzy sliding mode controller (EFSMC) is proposed to control the automated clutch. The sliding and global stability conditions are formulated and analyzed in terms of the Lyapunov full quadratic form. The chattering phenomenon is handled by using a saturation function to replace the pure sign function and fuzzy logic adaptation system in the control law. To meet the real-time requirement of the automated clutch, the region-wise linear technology s adopted to reduce the fuzzy rules of the EFSMC. The simulation results have shown hat the proposed controller can achieve a higher performance with minimum reaching time and smooth control actions. In addition, our data also show that the controller is effective and robust to the parametric variation and external disturbance.

  • Most of FLC received input data from error e and change-of-error e' with no relation with system complexity. Basic scheme follows typical PD and PI or PID Controller and that has been developed through fixed ME In this paper, We studied the relationship between MF and system response and system response through changing Fuzzy variable of consequence MF and propose the simple FLC using this relationship. The response of FLC is changed according to the width of Fuzzy variable of consequence MF. As changing the Fuzzy variable of consequence MF shows various nonlinear characteristic, we studied the relation between response and MF using analytical method. We designed the effective FLC using three-variable MF and nine rules and took simulation for verification. In this study, we propose the method to design system with FLC in stability point which is an impotent characteristic of designing system. The circle criterion which is adapted to analysis the nonlinear system is put to use for proposed method. Since SISO FLC has a time-invariant and odd characteristic we can use the critical point not disk which is generally used to determine the stability in the circle criterion, to determine the stability. Using this, we can get the maximum critical point plot of SISO FLC with changing the consequence fuzzy variables. The predetermined critical point plot of FLC can be used to decide the region of the system to be stable. This method is effectively used to design the SISO FLC.
