INTERPOLATIVE REASONING FOE COMPUTATIONALLY EFFICIENT OPTIMAL FUZZY CONTROL

  • Fuzzy optimal control is considered. An optimal sequence of controls is sought best satisfying fuzzy constraints on the controls and fuzzy goals on the states (outputs), with a fuzzy system under control Control over a fixed and specified, implicitly specified, fuzzy, and infinite termination time is discussed. For computational efficiency a small number of reference fuzzy staters and controls is to be assumed by which fuzzy controls and stated are approximated. Optimal control policies reference fuzzy states are determined as a fuzzy relation used, via the compositional rule of inference, to derive an optimal control. Since this requires a large number of overlapping reference fuzzy controls and states implying a low computational efficiency, a small number of nonoverlapping reference fuzzy states and controls is assumed, and then interpolative reasoning is used to infer an optimal fuzzy control for a current fuzzy state.

  • A elevator group supervisory system is designed to perform efficient operation of multiple elevators, and its basic function is to assign an appropriate elevator to a given hall-cell. In this paper, in order to improve elevator group control performance, we propose a new dispatching system which includes fuzzy multi-attribute decision making(MADM). In most cases, the purpose of group control is to maximize control goals as much as possible. Unfortunately, the decision of optimal elevator to a given hall cell is made with very uncertain information of the system, and some of control goals are related each other. The uncertainty is mainly resulted from car calls generated by serving hall calls. A fuzzy MADM algorithm is proposed to deal with these problems to improve system performance.

  • The activated sludge process is a commonly used method for treating sewage and waste waters. The process is characterized by a lack of measurement instrumentations and control goals that are neither well defined nor well understood. In the present study the concept of fuzzy control is employed for such process in which a design method for fuzzy controller based on a multivariable fuzzy reasoning algorithms is investigated and then simulation results are presented.

  • Redundancy-reliability allocation problems in multi-stage series-parallel systems are addressed in this study. Fuzzy programming techniques are proposed for finding satisfactory solutions. First, a multi-objective programming model is formulated for simultaneously maximizing system reliability and minimizing system total cost. Due to the nature of uncertainty in the problem, the fuzzy set theory and technique are used to convert the deterministic multi-objective programming model into a fuzzy nonlinear programming problem. A heuristic method is developed to get satisfactory solutions for the fuzzy nonlinear programming problem. A Pareto optimal solution is found with maximal degree of satisfaction from the interception area of fuzzy sets. A case study that is related to the electronic control unit installed on aircraft engine over-speed protection system is used to implement the developed approach. Results suggest that the developed fuzzy multi-objective programming model can effectively resolve the fuzzy and uncertain problem when design goals and constraints are not clearly confirmed at the initial conceptual design phase.

A goals of control are the minimization of waiting time, mean-waiting time and long-waiting time in a building. when a new hall call is generated, adaptive dual fuzzy controller evaluate traffic pattern and change appropriately the membership function of fuzzy rule base. Control for co-operation among elevators in group control algorithm are essential, and the most critical control function in group controller is a effective and proper hall call assignment of elevators. Thy group elevator system utilizing adaptive dual fuzzy control reveals a great deal of improvement on its performance.

  • 일반적으로, 지능형 에이전트는 사용자의 목적과 주위 환경으로부터 최적의 행동을 스스로 찾아낼 수 있어야 한다. 만약 에이전트의 목적이나 주위 환경이 불확실성을 포함하는 경우, 에이전트는 적절한 행동을 선택하기 어렵다. 그러나, 사용자의 목적이 인간 지식의 불확실성을 포함하는 언어값으로 표현되었을 경우, 이를 처리하려는 연구는 없었다. 본 논문에서는 모호한 사용자의 의도를 퍼지 목적으로 나타내고, 에이전트가 인지하는 불확실한 환경을 퍼지 상태로 표현하는 방법을 제안한다. 또, 퍼지 목적과 상태를 이용하여 확장한 펴지 강화 함수와를 이용하여, 기존 강화 학습 알고리즘 중 하나인 Q-Learning을 FuzzyQ-Learning으로 확장하고, 이에 대한 타당성을 검증한다.

A control algorithm is essential to control the cooperation of multiple elevators in a group and the most critical control function in the group controller is an effective and proper hall call assignment of the elevators. The group elevator system utilizing adaptive dual fuzzy control clearly performs more effectively than previous group controllers.
