An equivalent schema matching among several different source schemas is very important for information integration or mining on the XML based World Wide Web. Finding most similar source schema corresponding mediated schema is a major bottleneck because of the arbitrary nesting property and hierarchical structures of XML DTD schemas. It is complex and both very labor intensive and error prune job. In this paper, we present the first complex matching of XML schema, i.e. XML DTD. The proposed method captures not only schematic information but also integrity constraints information of DTD to match different structured DTD. We show the integrity constraints based hierarchical schema matching is more semantic than the schema matching only to use schematic information and stored data.

In the present work, a main purpose is to propose a fuzzy integral-based aggregation framework to complementarily combine partial information due to lack of completeness. Based on Choquet integral (CI) viewed as monotone expectation, we take into account complementary, non-interactive, and substitutive aggregations of different sources of defective information. A CI-based system representing upper, conventional, and lower expectations is designed far handling three aggregation attitudes towards uncertain information. In particular, based on Choquet integrals for belief measure, probability measure, and plausibility measure, CI$\_$bi/-, CI$\_$pr/ and CI$\_$pl/-aggregator are constructed, respectively. To illustrate a validity of proposed aggregation framework, multiple matching systems are developed by combining three simple individual template-matching systems and tested under various image variations. Finally, compared to individual matchers as well as other traditional multiple matchers in terms of an accuracy rate, it is shown that a proposed CI-aggregator system, {CI$\_$bl/-aggregator, CI$\_$pl/-aggregator, Cl$\_$pl/-aggregator}, is likely to offer a potential framework for either enhancing completeness or for resolving conflict or for reducing uncertainty of partial information.

The purpose of this study is to design the adaptive speed control system of a marine diesel engine by combining the Model Matching Method and the Nominal Model Tracking Method. The authors proposed already a new method to determine efficiently the PID control Parameters by the Model Matching Method. typically taking a marine diesel engine as a non-oscillatory second-order system. But. actually it is very difficult to find out the exact model of a diesel engine. Therefore, when diesel engine model and actual diesel engine are unmatched as an another approach to promote the speed control characteristics of a marine diesel engine, this paper Proposes a Model Reference Adaptive Speed Control system of a diesel engine, in which PID control system for the model of a diesel engine is adopted as the nominal model and Fuzzy controller and derivative operator are adopted as the adaptive controller.

It is important to develop a method of assembling a set of sub pictures automatically into a mosaic picture , because a view through fiberscopes or microscopes with higher magnifying power is much larger than the field of view taken by a camera. This paper presents a method of assembling sub pictures, where roughly estimated junctions called approximate junctions are employed for matching triangles formed by selected junctions in sub pictures. To over come the difficulties in processing speed and noise corruption, fuzzy rules is applied to get fuzzy values for existence of approximate junctions and fuzzy similarity for congruent triangle matching. Some demonstration, exemplified by assembling microscopic metal matrix photographs, are given to show feasibility of this method.
We represent an efficient intelligent digital redesign method for a Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy system. intelligent digital redesign means that an existing analog fuzzy-model-based controller converts to equivalent digital counter part in the sense of state-matching. The proposed method performs previous work, moreover, it allows to matching the states of the overall closed-loop T-S fuzzy system with the predesigned analog fuzzy-model-based controller. And the problem of stability represent convex optimization problem and cast into linear matrix inequality (LMI) framework. This method applies to the helicopter systems which are the nonlinear plant and determine the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method.

FCM(Fuzzy Cognitive Map) is a fuzzy signed directed graph for representing causal reasoning which has fuzziness between causal concepts. Authors have already proposed FCM-based fault diagnostic scheme. However, the previously proposed scheme has the problem of lower diagnostic resolution. In order to improve the diagnostic resolution, a new diagnostic scheme based on extended FCM which incorporates the concept of fuzzy number into FCM is developed in this paper. Furthermore, an enhanced TAM(Temporal Associative Memory) recall procedure and pattern matching scheme are also proposed.

An intelligent mulitiple monitoring system to monitor tool/machining states synthetically was proposed and developed. It consists of 2 fundamental subsystems : the multiple sensor detection unit and the intellignet integrated diagnosis unit. Three signals, that is, spindle motor current, Z-axis motor current, and machining sound were adopted to detect tool/machining states more reliably. Based on the multiple sensor information, the diagnosis unit judges either tool breakage or degree of tool wear state using fuzzy reasoning. Tool breakage is diagnosed by the level of spindle/z-axis motor current. Tool wear is diagnosed by both the result of fuzzy pattern recognition for motor currents and the result of pattern matching for machining sound. Fuzzy c-means algorithm was used for fuzzy pattern recognition. Experiments carried out for drill operation in the machining center have shown that the developed system monitors abnormal drill/states drilling very reliably.
