  • In this paper, we consider Choquet integrals of interval number-valued functions(simply, interval number-valued Choquet integrals). Then, we prove convergence theorem for interval number-valued Choquet integrals with respect to an autocontinuous fuzzy measure.

  • A fuzzy relation between X and Y as fuzzy subset of X × Y was proposed by Zadeh. Subsequently, several researchers have applied the notion of fuzzy subsets to various branches of mathematics and computer sciences. Murali an Nemitz have studied fuzzy relations connected with fuzzy equivalence relations and fuzzy functions. Ounalli and Jaoua defined a fuzzy difunctional relation on a set. difunctional relations are versatile mathematical tool, which can be used in software design and in database theory. Their work have revealed the usefulness of difunctional relations in program specification and in defining program correctness. The main goal of this paper is to define a fuzzy deterministic relation on a set, characterize the fuzzy deterministic relation as its level subsets and investigate some properties in connection with fuzzy deterministic relation. In particular we prove that a fuzzy relation R is fuzzy deterministic iff R is a fuzzy function.

  • Beaches have many risk factors that cause various accidents, such as drifting and drowning, these accidents have many risk factors. To analyze them, in this paper, we identify beach risk factors, and define the criteria and correlation for each risk factor. Then, we generate new risk factors based on Fuzzy theory, and define Situation Awareness for each time. Finally, we propose a beach risk assessment and prediction model based on linear regression using the calculated risk result and pre-defined risk factors. We use national public data of the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA), and the Korea Hydrographic and Oceanographic Agency (KHOA). The results of the experiment showed the prediction accuracy of beach risk to be 0.90%, and the prediction accuracy of drifting and drowning accidents to be 0.89% and 0.86%, respectively. Also, through factor correlation analysis and risk factor assessment, the influence of each of the factors on beach risk can be confirmed. In conclusion, we confirmed that our proposed model can assess and predict beach risks.

  • The purpose of this paper is to make a design and implementation of a diagnosis system of learning misconception of students who learn 'be' verb in the English language by using fuzzy theory. In this system, a fuzzy cognitive map exposes the fact that students' perception and misunderstanding about 'the English' language have an intertwined relationship, and diagnoses causes of misconceptions of students by using fuzzy memory associative memory. It suggests that since most existing systems of rule based expert system have had several limitations, this system will be applied to diagnose learners' misconception of learning in varieties of education areas.

  • This paper addresses the wavelet fuzzy modeling using Virus-Evolutionary Genetic Algorithm (VEGA). We build a fuzzy system model which is equivalent to the wavelet transform after identifying the coefficients of wavelet transform. We can obtain an accurate system model with a small number of coefficients due to the energy compaction property of the wavelet transform. It thus means that we can construct a fuzzy system model with a small number of rules. In order to identify the wide-ranged coefficients of the wavelet transform, VEGA is adopted, which has prominent ability to avoid premature local convergence that is suitable to complex optimization problems. We demonstrate the superiority of our proposed fuzzy system modeling method over the previous results by modeling nonlinear function.

  • This paper presents a new adaptive structure with fuzzy logic applied to adaptive controller. In the conventional adaptive control, good performance cannot be expected due to the adaptation gain of gradient algorithm fined as a constant. To change adaptation gain property, fuzzy rules, which are based on the output error and its rate of change, have been established. The proposed fuzzy adaptive law shows fast parameter convergence and improved performance. The fuzzy logic base is added to the conventional adaptive structure and little additional computation time is required.

  • Sahai and Waters first introduced the concept of Fuzzy Identity Based Encryption (FIBE) to provide an error-tolerance property for Identity Based Encryption (IBE) in 2005. Yang et al. extended this idea and introduced the concept of Fuzzy Identity Based Signature (FIBS) in 2008, and constructed a FIBS scheme based on Sahai and Waters's FIBE scheme. In this paper, we further formalize the notion and security model of FIBS scheme and propose a new construction of FIBS scheme based on bilinear pairing. The proposed FIBS scheme not only provide shorter public parameters, private key and signature, but also have useful structures which result in more efficient key extraction, signing and verification than that of Yang et al.'s FIBS scheme.

  • In this paper, we proposed the recognition method that automatically extracts cracks from a surface image acquired by a digital camera and recognizes the directions (horizontal, vertical, -45 degree, and 45 degree) of cracks using the fuzzy single layer perceptron. We compensate an effect of light on a concrete surface image by applying the closing operation, which is one of the morphological techniques, extract the edges of cracks by Sobel masking, and binarize the image by applying the iterated binarization technique. Two times of noise reduction are applied to the binary image for effective noise elimination. After the specific regions of cracks are automatically extracted from the preprocessed image by applying Glassfire labeling algorithm to the extracted crack image, the cracks of the specific region are enlarged or reduced to $30{\times}30$ pixels and then used as input patterns to the fuzzy single layer perceptron. The experiments using concrete crack images showed that the cracks in the concrete crack images were effectively extracted and the fuzzy single layer perceptron was effective in the recognition of the extracted cracks directions.

  • This paper is concerned with an Adaptive Fuzzy Sliding Mode Control(AFSMC) that the fuzzy systems are used to approximate the unknown functions of nonlinear system. In the adaptive fuzzy system, we adopt the adaptive law to approximate the dynamics of the nonlinear plant and to adjust the parameters of AFSMC. The stability of the suggested control system is proved via Lyapunov stability theorem, and convergence and robustness properties are demonstrated. The simulation results demonstrate that the performance is improved and the system also exhibits stability.
