The effects of root gap on welding residual stress and deformation are dealt with the multi-pass weldment with three kinds(0, 6, 30mm) of root gap by F.E.M common code, and then compared with experiment data. In this analysis, an 100% ramp heat input model was used to avoid numerical convergence problem due to an instantaneous increase in temperature near the fusion zone, and the effect of a moving arc in a two dimensional plane was also included. During the analysis, a small time increment was applied in a period with instantaneous temperature fluctuation while a large time increment was used in the rest period. The residual stress is distributed as symmetric types and maximum value is also equivalent when the weldment with 0mm and 6mm root gap is welded. In the case of 30mm root gap welding, the distribution of the residual stress extends over a wide range as asymmetric types due to the built-up weld, and most of the residual stress is biased in the side of a built-up weld part. In case of 0mm gap welding and 6mm gap welding, a little angular distortion occurs, but the level of deformation is small. When the weldment with 30mm root gap is welded, the angular deformation of the asymmetric types, however, occurs larger than the other specimens. The experimental and the analytic results show good coincidence and indicate that the welding residual stress and deformation distribution of 30 mm root gap specimen may be asymmetric and the amplitude is larger than those of root gap specimen under standard.

Focus on Digital Fashion Image, the conceptual framework for the thesis is established from Virtuality in Digital Art. Formative characteristics and aesthetic characteristics were studied by classifying the Digital Fashion Image applied and expressed by digital media and technology. A detective research method was used for a case study. A literature study for case-by-case data was analyzed with focus on the works expressing fashion that utilized digital media and technology since the 2000s. Through this study, the Digital revolution has created the socio-cultural impact of a Virtual representation to implement technology and fashion culture that finds ways to take advantage of the image shown in a Digital Fashion Media by understanding Virtuality. The results are as follows. First, it was a re-formation of the fashion culture through the experience of virtuality with mental zone parameters between the media 'Mediation Code'. Reflect the reality of the virtual environment as represented by a cultural image of fashion brands and fashion that reset the team relationship and formed a Homo Ludens cultural code. Second, 'Interactive Exchange' acts on the exchange interaction between the method of digital technology, the human and the machine as well as the technical interoperability of network elements and techniques. This exchange is applied to fashion images that express emotion. Forming personalized fashion items and the user interactively storage that expresses the interactive exchange to forward the identity of the emotional fashion by a change in the message delivery system fashion. Third, the emphasis on intuitive artistic expression 'Synesthesia Immersion' induces a sense of immersion and excitement through the fusion of the interconnected. The application of SS400 carbon steel and AISI430 ferritic stainless steel joint has been increased in industries because of the advantage of both metals was able to increase the service lifetime of the important structures. Therefore, a fusion welding process that could produce a sound weld and good joint properties should be optimized. This research is aimed to weld a butt joint of SS400 carbon steel and AISI430 ferritic stainless steel using Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) welding process and to study the effects of welding parameters on joint properties. The experimental results were concluded as follows. The optimized welding parameter that produced the tensile strength of 448 MPa was the welding current of 110A, the welding speed of 400 mm/min and the mixed gas of $80%Ar+20%CO_2$. Increase of the welding current affected to increase and decrease the tensile strength of the joint, respectively. Lower welding current produced the incomplete bonding of the metals and indicated the low tensile strength. Microstructure investigation of the welded joint showed a columnar grain in the weld metal and a coarse grain in the heat affected zone (HAZ). The unknown hard precipitated phases were also found at the grain boundaries of the weld metal and HAZ. The hardness profile did not show the difference of the hardness on the joint that was welded by various welding currents but the hardness of the weld metal was higher than that of the other location.
It has been reported that the creep characteristics on weldment which is composed of weld metal(W.M), fusion line(F.L), heat-affected zone(HAZ), and base meta(B.M) could be unpredictably changed in severe service conditions such as high temperature and high pressure. However, the studies done on creep damage in power plant components have been mostly conducted on B.M and not the creep properties of the localized microstructures in weldment have been thoroughly investigated yet. In this paper, it is investigated the creep characteristics for three microstructures like coarse-grain HAZ(CGHAZ), W.M, and B.M in X20CrMoV121 steel weldment by the small punch-creep-(SP-Creep) test using miniaturized specimen($10{\times}10{\times}0.5mm$). The W.M microstructure possesses the higher creep resistance and shows lower creep strain rate than the B.M and CGHAZ. In the lower creep load the highest creep strain rate is exhibited in CGHAZ, whereas in the higher creep load the B.M represents the high creep strain rate. The power law correlation for all microstructures exists between creep rate and creep load at $600^{\circ}C$. The values of creep load index (n) based on creep strain rate for B.M, CGHAZ, and W.M are 7.54, 4.23, and 5.06, respectively and CGHAZ which shows coarse grains owing to high welding heat has the lowest creep loade index. In all creep loads, the creep life for W.M shows the highest value.
In this paper, a double spot welding process, utilizing electric resistance heating dies, is suggested for the spot welding of dissimilar metal plates for drawing and concurrent spot welding. This double welding process has two heating methods for the fusion welding at the interfacial zone between steel and aluminum plates, such as heating method by thermal conduction of electric resistance by welding current induced to heating dies, and heating method by electric resistance between contacted surfaces of two plates by welding current induced to copper electrode. This double welding process has welding variables such as each current induced in heating dies and in copper electrode, outer diameters of heating dies, and edge shape of copper electrode. Experiments for current conditions in welding process should be demanded in order to get successful welding strength. It was known that the welding strength could be reached to the value demanded on industry fields under such welding conditions as heating dies of outer ring dia.12mm contacted on steel plate, as heating dies of outer ring dia. 14mm contacted on aluminum plate, and as copper electrode of dia. 6.0mm, and as 3 times continuous heating method by $1^{st}$ current of 11 kA(9cycle), $2^{nd}$ current 11 kA(60cycle), $3^{rd}$ current 7 kA(60cycle) applied in steel heating dies and copper electrodes, flat edge of copper electrode, for double spot welding process of dissimilar metal plates of steel and aluminum of 1.0 mm thickness.
Conventional fracture test of resistance spot weld had been performed without consideration of paint baking process in automobile manufacturing line. This study was aim to investigate the effect of paint baking on fracture mode and load carrying capacity in fracture test for resistance spot welded 780TRIP steels. With paint baking cycle after resistance spot welds, peel tests and microhardness were conducted on the as-welded and baked samples. Resistance spot welds in AHSS (Advanced High Strength Steels) are prone to display partial interfacial fractures during fracture test or vehicle crash. Baking cycle increased the load-carrying capacity of the resistance spot welded samples and improved the fracture appearance from partial to full button fracture for the L-type peel tests. Specially, the differences in fracture appearance are apparent when the nugget size of spot welds is small enough to produce the partial interfacial fracture. The comparison of macrohardness and microstructure between as-welded and baked samples showed that there are no large difference in change the fracture mode. However, the results of the instrumented indentation test suggested that fusion zone and HAZ of baked sample have less tensile and yield strength and proves that the tempering effects are applied and enhanced the resistance to fracture on welds with application of baking cycle.
Failure analysis on the welded type 304 pipe used for cooling water piping in the district heating primary side was conducted. Inorganic elements and bacteria in the cooling water and in corrosion products were analyzed, and the weldment was inspected by microscopy and a sensitization test. Corrosion damages were observed in the heat-affected zone, on weld defects such as incomplete fusion or excessive penetration caused by improper welding, or/and at the 6 o'clock position along the pipe axial direction. However, the level of concentration of chloride in the cooling water as low as 80 ppm has been reported to be not enough for even a sensitized type 304 steel, meaning that the additional corrosive factor was required for these corrosion damages. The factor leading to these corrosion damages was drawn to be the metabolisms of the types of bacteria, which is proved by the detection of proton, sulfur containing species, biofilms, and both bacteria and corrosion product analyses.
Ultrasonic impact treatment (UIT) is carried out on the Ni-based alloy stainless steel pipe gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) girth weld, the differences of microstructure, microhardness and shear strength distribution of the joint before and after ultrasonic shock are studied by microhardness test and shear punch test. The results show that after UIT, the plastic deformation layer is formed on the outside surface of the Ni-based alloy overlayer, single-phase austenite and γ type precipitates are formed in the overlayer, and a large number of columnar crystals are formed on the bottom side of the overlayer. The average microhardness of the overlayer increased from 221 H V to 254 H V by 14.9%, the shear strength increased from 696 MPa to 882 MPa with an increase of 26.7% and the transverse average residual stress decreased from 102.71 MPa (tensile stress) to -18.33 MPa (compressive stress), the longitudinal average residual stress decreased from 114.87 MPa (tensile stress) to -84.64 MPa (compressive stress). The fracture surface has been appeared obvious shear lip marks and a few dimples. The element migrates at the fusion boundary between the Ni-based alloy overlayer and the austenitic stainless steel joint, which is leaded to form a local martensite zone and appear hot cracks. The welded joint is cooled by FA solidification mode, which is forming a large number of late and skeleton ferrite phase with an average microhardness of 190 H V and no obvious change in shear strength. The base metal is all austenitic phase with an average microhardness of 206 H V and shear strength of 696 MPa.

The integrity of the high cervical spine, the transition zone from the brainstem to the spinal cord, is crucial for survival and daily life. The region protects the enclosed neurovascular structure and allows a substantial portion of the head motion. Injuries of the high cervical spine are frequent, and the fractures of the C2 vertebra account for approximately 17-25% of acute cervical fractures. We review the two major types of C2 vertebral fractures, odontoid fracture and Hangman's fracture. For both types of fractures, favorable outcomes could be obtained if the delicately selected conservative treatment is performed. In odontoid fractures, as the most common fracture on the C2 vertebrae, anterior screw fixation is considered first for type II fractures, and C1-2 fusion is suggested when nonunion is a concern or occurs. Hangman's fractures are the second most common fracture. Many stable extension type I and II fractures can be treated with external immobilization, whereas the predominant flexion type IIA and III fractures require surgical stabilization. No result proves that either anterior or posterior surgery is superior, and the surgeon should decide on the surgical method after careful consideration according to each clinical situation. This review will briefly describe the basic principles and current treatment concepts of C2 fractures.
TIG remelting was performed to harden the surface of automobile earn shaft. Multipass remelting was conducted in longitudinal direction under argon gas atmosphere. The microstructure of as-east earn shaft was gray iron which consisted of flake graphite and pearlitic matrix. The remelted area had microstructue of both fine pearlite and ledeburite structure that consisted of globular austenite and $Fe_3C$. Hardness for as-cast earn shaft had HRc 25~28, however it increased at remelted area to HRc 53~55. Black line was found at heat affected zone next to the fusion line, that is remelt area of previous pass, during multipass remelting. Black line was identified as graphite, which was transformed from $Fe_3C$. in the ledeburite structure. It is observed that all graphites were nucleated at $Fe_3C$. and matrix interface. High density energy laser remelting process was also applied to verify whether black line could be eliminated. However, black line was still existed as observed in TIG remelting process. Regraphitization was simulated on the ledeburitic structure specimen using Gleeble 1500 with conditions of 1100 and 100$0^{\circ}C$ for 0.5, I, 3, 5 and 1Osee. From the fact that graphite was formed even at the simulation condition of 100$0^{\circ}C$ for 0.5sec, it is seen that regraphitization is an inevitable phenomenon generated whatever processes used during multipass overlap remelting.
