  • The $NO_2$ gas-detection characteristics were investigated using the functional organic Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) films of Copper-tetra-tert-butylphthalocyanine(CuTBP). The optimum conditions for a film deposition were obtained through a study of $\pi$-A isotherms, and the deposited film status was confirmed by the ellipsometry measurements. The $NO_2$ gas response experiments under 200 ppm concentration at room temperature show that there are increment of electrical conductivity by 40 times and 25 seconds of response time, and 40 seconds of recovery times.

  • The development of train control system shall operate a series of processes like system designing, system production and system performance evaluation as a result of various requirements analysis presented in operation rules, operating guidelines for railway organizations etc, notified by the nation. Therefore, considering operation conditions, operation plan, linkage to railway network etc, the major document like system functional specifications, system development specifications, system test plans etc must be drawn up. In this paper we classify system operating scenarios required to prepare for system standard specification and system performance evaluation report of CBTC system for urban subways supporting unmanned automatic operation, and adjust each of the operating status.

  • In recent years, the manufacturing industry begins to demand the PDM which integarates design and manufacturing information concurrently to reduce the time-to-market of new products. However, current commercialized PDM tools have drawbacks in representing by relational data modeling a variety of data types such as CAD files, images, audio, long text, etc. For this reason, object-oriented approaches are suggested as an alternative. In this paper, using one of object-oriented approaches, Rumbaugh's OMT(Object-Modeling Technique), we propose a data model of drawing information management systems essential for PDM. The scope of the model is limited to the information management for drawings, parts, and product structures. Static, dynamic and functional models are suggested in detail. In the models, the drawing status is classified into on-progress, approved, disposed, and released. Also, parts are classified into products, assemblies, and components.

  • This study presents technical description of the operating program development that operates the test bench for functional test of EECU. The test bench is capable of testing, simulation and adjustment of the EECU software using the operating program. The test bench is for the Development Project of the EECU platform for FADEC system. The operating program is consists of 3 modules which are the test bench operating module, cockpit simulator module and SILS module. The operating module mainly carries out the EECU test with manual operation and operating scenarios. Also that record and process the test data. The cockpit simulator module is capable of implementation of virtual cockpit control input and engine status display. The SILS module can simulate engine and EECU operation in software environment.

  • Cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection in healthy individuals is usually asymptomatic and results in latent infection. CMV reactivation occasionally occurs in healthy individuals according to their immune status over time. T cell responses to CMV are restricted to a limited number of immunodominant epitopes, as compared to responses to other chronic or persistent viruses. This response results in progressive, prolonged expansion of CMV-specific $CD8^+$ T cells, termed 'memory inflation'. The expanded CMV-specific $CD8^+$ T cell population is extraordinarily large and is more prominent in the elderly. CMV-specific $CD8^+$ T cells possess rather similar phenotypic and functional features to those of replicative senescent T cells. In this review, we discuss the general features of CMV-specific inflationary memory T cells and the factors involved in memory inflation.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the benefits in children’'s wear sought by mothers and to identify the influence of parental attitudes and clothing involvements. A survey was conducted and 350 responses collected from mothers who have elementary school-aged children were analyzed using SPSS 15.0 evaluation version. As a result, firstly, eight dimensions of benefits in children’'s wear were identified; individuality/expression, conformity, aesthetics/fashion, social status, functional value, standard, blame avoidance and economic value. Secondly, the influences of mothers’' parental attitudes on the clothing benefits and the moderating effects of clothing involvements were found. The effects of parental attitudes on the benefits were dependent on mothers’' clothing involvements.

  • Phloem network integrates cellular energy status into post-embryonic growth, and development by tight regulation of carbon allocation. Phloem development involves complicated coordination of cell fate determination, cell division, and terminal differentiation into sieve elements (SEs), functional conduit. All of these processes must be tightly coordinated, for optimization of systemic connection between source supplies and sink demands throughout plant life cycle, that has substantial impact on crop productivity. Despite its pivotal role, surprisingly, regulatory mechanisms underlying phloem development have just begun to be explored, and we recently identified a novel translational regulatory network involving RNA G-quadruplex and a zinc-finger protein, JULGI, for phloem development. From this perspective, we further discuss the role of RNA G-quadruplex on post-transcriptional control of phloem regulators, as a potential interface integrating spatial information for asymmetric cell division, and phloem development.

  • The human-associated microbiota is diverse, varies between individuals and body sites, and is important in human health. Microbes in human body play an essential role in immunity, health, and disease. The human microbiome has been studies using the advances of next-generation sequencing and its metagenomic applications. This has allowed investigation of the microbial composition in the human body, and identification of the functional genes expressed by this microbial community. The gut microbes have been found to be the most diverse and constitute the densest cell number in the human microbiota; thus, it has been studied more than other sites. Early results have indicated that the imbalances in gut microbiota are related to numerous disorders, such as inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal cancer, diabetes, and atopy. Clinical therapy involving modulating of the microbiota, such as fecal transplantation, has been applied, and its effects investigated in some diseases. Human microbiome studies form part of human genome projects, and understanding gleaned from studies increase the possibility of various applications including personalized medicine.

  • Prosthetic valve replacement has resulted in marked improvement in the functional status of many patients with valvular heart disease. But valve failure from various causes has necessitated re-replacement of prosthetic valve in some of these patients. This selective group of patients has many inherent problems. This report presents our experience with seven patients who received re-replacement of prosthetic valve in the Seoul National University Hospital from 1981, to 1983. The patients included one woman and six men in the range of 9 and 49 years old. As the first valve operations, there were five MVR using tissue valves, one DVR [Bjork-Shiley and Ionescu-Shiley valve] and one case of modified Bentall operation with composite graft [Ionescu-Shiley valve]. Reoperations on prosthetic valve failure were performed 17 to 54 months after the first operation [mean 34 months]. Amon8 seven patients, there were two cases of prosthetic valve endocarditis and five cases of primary tissue failure. Gross calcification of the xenograft was found in two children with Ionescu-Shiley valve. All except one had relatively successful operative results. The unsuccessful one died intraoperatively from low output syndrome.

  • To compare the treatment effects of back exercise on functional status, spinal mobility, SLR, pain severity, and treatment results satisfaction, and to determine whether spinal exercises during the low back pain reduces recurrent episodes of back pain. 1. Flexion and extension exercise groups did not differ in any outcome over 4weeks. After 1 week. both exercise groups had reduced disability score, a higher proportion returning to work, and fewer subjects with a positive SLR compared with the control group. 2. There was no difference among groups regarding recurrence of low back pain after $6{\sim}12$ months. 3. There was no difference for any outcomes between the flexion or extension groups. However, either exercise was slightly more effective than no exercise when patients with low back pain were treated.
