This study was conducted to evaluate the industry foodservice management practices and to suggest guidelines for the effective foodservice management. The survey for the analysis was conducted through the questionnaires to dietitians. They were divided into two groups : the site color worker and the blue color worker. The questionnaires were received for a response rate of 73.2%. Statistical data analysis was completed using the SAS programs for descriptive analysis, $x^2$ test, T-test, F-test, and Fisher's LSD. The results of the study can be summarized as follows : 1) The level of education of dietitians and food cost in the employee feeding operations for the blue color worker was lower than the employee feeding operations for the white color worker. 2) The labor productivity indices were not significantly different according to types of workers. But in the employee feeding operations for the blue color worker, full-time foodservice employees worked more than 10.7 hour per week than their counterpart. This indicates the full-time foodservice employees in the employee feeding operations for the blue color worker performed more loaded work compared to the employee feeding operations for the white color worker. 3) Equipped rate of facilities in the employee feeding operations for the blue color worker was low especially in the food preparation and cooking processes.

This research identifies the main factors of the psychological climate that directly affect the performance of banking employees in Vietnam. Besides, this research also takes into consideration the differences in gender, age, educational level, and income on working performance. A survey was obtained from 207 employees working at joint-stock commercial banks and the analysis was handled with SPSS 20 software supports. The result shows that the measurement scales meet the requirements of validity and reliability. Regression analysis demonstrates that there are four factors directly affecting the working performance: friendliness, personal development and learning opportunities, straight and open communication, and the support from the senior management. These four factors have created a healthy psychological climate in the banks, where employees will feel comfortable and happy to improve work performance. Furthermore, this research has found that the higher the income, the more efficiently employees will work. The results of this research contribute to the measurement scale of working environment factors. At the same time, this research also proposes some recommendations for organizational managers to build a reasonable working environment that can inspire a sense of mental comfort for employees to work at their full capacity and to achieve the highest performance.

These relationships were examined by targeting the employees working full-time for five star deluxe hotels. Total number of 230 responses had been collected out of 250 cases requested and he number of 213 cases was used for the final analysis. The data were analyzed using structural equation modeling with SPSS 19.0 and AMOS 7 software program. The results suggested that psychological safety is significantly associated with intrinsic motivation. Furthermore, the hotel employees' problem identification, information searching & coding, and idea generation are affected by intrinsic motivation. That is, intrinsic motivation plays a significant role for each sub-factors of creative process engagement in the hotel industry. The theoretical and practical implications of these findings are established and related suggestion for formulating marketing strategy is well discussed.
This study investigated the effect of householder's occupation on the debt structures of households. Household debts were categorized into six types according to borrowing sources: debts from banks, other financial institutes, employers, private sources, Gye, and retailers. Householder's occupations were classified into four groups: full-time employees, employers, farmers & fishermen, and part-time employees. The data came from the 1996 Korean Household Panel Study. It was found that the rates of holding each types of debt and the debt amounts were different according to householder's occupation. The human and economic resources to overcome the possible household debt problems were also different by the householder's occupation.
The purpose of this study is to investigate an efficient use of labor in personnel scheduling for the restaurant industry. More specifically, this study attends to reduce overall labor cost while not sacrificing both full-time and part-time employees' schedules. The customers' demands were measured by sales in this analysis. Historically, server scheduling in the restaurant has been practiced by manager's experience and intuition; however, those practices provided drawbacks because managers often fail to consider external factors such as a employees' working conditions and change in a restaurant's size. The result of a new method in personnel scheduling provided significant cost saving compared to a previous scheduling technique. This study found that a new method in personnel scheduling allowed the restaurant to save labor cost. The outcome of this study should of for important strategic implication for the restaurant managers.
In recent years, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has received particular attentions from both practitioners and scholars. This study focused on Korean national fashion businesses and identified various types of CSR practices in addition to social contributions. Besides, comparison in corporation by size of the number of full-time employees and sales volume were examined. A total of 1054 cases of 147 brands, 86 corporations between 2000 and 2012 were collected from internet articles and brand home pages. Findings were as follows. First, the types of CSR activities were categorized into the following six: economic responsibility, legal responsibility, consumer protection, protection of worker's right, protection of environment, and social contribution. Social contribution took largest portion of CSR activities (67.7%), followed by environmental protection (14%), and protection of worker's right (6.2%). The other three types presented limited cases but included negative aspects of CSR. Social contribution consisted of six sub categories (culture & art, sports, education, donation, voluntary service, and campaign), and donation took the largest part of social contribution area. Second, comparing 86 corporations by the size of the number of full-time employees, companies more than 300 employees (38.1%) were more likely to practice CSR activities. Similarly, companies with more than 500 billion won sales (13.1%) were more active in their CSR activities than their counterparts. Suggestions are given for improving CSR practices to fashion business.
The objectives of the study were to explore the employment factors associated with long working hours, known as a risk factor for various health outcomes. The study relied on the national representative data of the 2013 French working conditions survey and a study sample of 23,378 full-time employees. Long working hours were defined by the threshold of 48 hours a week following the European Working Time Directive. The prevalence of long working hours was higher among men (13.5%) than among women (8.5%). Employees of the private sector, with permanent work contract, in small companies, and men in the services had a higher prevalence of exposure. This prevalence increased with educational and occupational levels. Our findings may help decision-makers to define preventive strategies. More research is needed to improve our knowledge of the employment factors associated with long working hours, as there may be strong differences between countries.
Purpose - This study aims to analyze time use of employees to see how they make a balance between work and family. We tried to analyze time use and time pressure of married paid workers in order to understand their work and family balance. Methodology - Time use was compared by employment types and time pressure groups. We analyzed the factors influencing time pressure, dividing two employment types. The data were selected from the 2009 Korean Time Use Survey. Results - Those who feel time pressure among full-timers spent more time on work and housework and less time on personal care and leisure than those who do not feel time pressure. Logit analysis on time pressure showed that full-timers feel more time pressure than part-timers do. Gender, age, education, income, day-off type, and the presence of preschool children were significant variables on time pressure. Conclusion - These results imply that time use and time pressure for married paid workers are affected by employment types. Flexibility of labor needs to enhance work and family balance for females who have preschool children.
This study is designed to investigate the impact of employee's awareness about corporate social responsibility on innovative behavior among frontline employees in the hotel industry. In addition, the present study seeks to demonstrate whether employees awareness about corporate social responsibility or innovative behavior varies according to gender, age, education level and employment type. In order to achieve the study goal, the data were obtained from frontline employees(Rooms division, F&B division) working in the 5-star hotels. And the data were analyzed by frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, t-test, ANOVA and regression analysis were undertaken using SPSS(18.0). The results showed that gender, age and employment type were not significant factors to generate differences on awareness about corporate social responsibility. But the higher educated employee was likely to perceive the awareness about corporate social responsibility better. Employee's innovative behavior varied on all of gender, age, education level and employment type. In other words, employee who is male, in the older age group, in the higher educated level and the full-time position tends to do more innovative behavior. Implications based on the study results are also discussed.
Relatively little studies have investigated employee recovery from internal service failure, especially from the employees' perspective. When handling customer complaints, employees must not only deal with legitimate customer demands after a service failure, such as providing an apology, rectifying the problem, and offering compensation, but they must also manage illegitimate dysfunctional customers, who may yell, threaten, and even physically harm the employee. These negative experiences can have strong effects, and employees can exhibit higher levels of stress such as burnout and emotional labor, which have been linked to dissatisfaction, tension and anxiety, reduced performance and effectiveness, and a greater propensity to leave the firm, ultimately leading to negative financial consequences for the firm. These conditions result in internal service failure and create the need to recover employees-in other words, internal service recovery. However, little research has examined this issue so far. The purpose of the current study, therefore, is to investigate the relationship between internal service recovery and employee outcomes. A pre-test, post-test between-subjects experimental design was developed. Participants were 166 part-time students who were working full-time. The average age of the participants was 36.74 years, and 57.50% of them were female. The average length of employment was 13 years. Participants were randomly assigned to one of four groups of approximately equal size. Three of the groups were subjected to an experimental situation involving an internal service failure, while one group was not exposed to failure, thereby acting as a control group. This study contributes to the service marketing literature in several ways. First, the study extends service failure and/or recovery research by examining recovery in an employee context. Second, this study attempts to measure internal service recovery and to empirically demonstrate its relationship to employee outcomes. Third, this investigation emphasizes the managerial importance of internal service recovery. For example, understanding the nature of the relationships between internal service recovery and its consequences can improve the effectiveness and efficiency of managers' resource allocation decisions.
