Characteristics of Asphalt Pavement Images and Enhanced Algorithm for Noise Reduction (이미지프로세싱기법을 이용한 포장이미지의 특성과 노이즈제거를 위한 알고리즘 선정)

  • Pavement distresses are one of the most important data for pavement management systems. Inspection machines and its related programs have been used for operating tools in PMS developed in advanced countries. In Korea imported machines and programs for the length price ale utilized to get information of pavement condition from the field This study is launched for developing the program which can detect cracks on asphalt pavement due to many drawbacks in current PMS operation such as improper maintenance work and long resting period when it was broken. The focus of this study is to define principles to analyze pavement surface with digital image processing techniques, to test property of pavement images and to suggest an algorithm that reduces noises at test. To test images, the camera attached on the Automatic Road Analyser(ARAN) was used. Through the FFT images, histogram and statistical values of pavement images, it was found that the images had many noises with high-frequency components against general images, and it was difficult to subdivide pavement images into background or crack. Through several testing with various filters for noise reduction a 3X3 median filter was suggested to reduce noises effectively.

Preparation and Optoelectric Characteristics of Low Power Consumption Type AC Powder EL Devices with Dielectrics and Rear Contact (유전재료와 후면전극에 따른 저전력 소비형 AC Powder EL 소자 제조 및 광전기적 특성)

  • AC powder EL devices were fabricated by screen printing method with the dielectric materials in insulating layer and the electrical resistivity of rear electrode. Brightness and current density were measured at voltage range of 50∼300 $V_{rms}$ to estimate optoelectrical properties of AC powder EL devices, respectively. Frequency generator was used as system producing frequency and voltage of a sine wave. Brightness and current density were measured by luminometer and multimeter. Also, dielectric constant for dielectric layer was measured by impedance analyser after preparing thick film. Dielectric constant was improved with amount of $TiO_2$ to $BaTiO_3$ powder. By applying such a process to dielectric layer of low cost AC powder EL device, brightness was improved to 50 cd/$m^2$ at similar current density. Dielectric constant $BaTiO_3$ powder by solution combustion process is better than commercial $BaTiO_3$ powder. By applying to that of low power consumption AC powder EL device, brightness was improved to 85 cd/$m^2$. Brightness of AC powder EL device was relatively decreased by control of electrical resistivity of rear electrode, current density was also decreased.

  • Antibody based biosensors are very selective and ultra-sensitive. Antigen-antibody reactions have been used in immunoassays. In this research, a biosensor which uses antigen-antibody reaction was developed to measure and detect rat IgG. Because the antigen-antibody reaction is a physical bounding between antigen and antibody, there are several ways to measure an antigen-antibody reaction. Among the methods, impedance analysis has short measuring time and possibilities of analyzing various properties of the reaction using frequency analysis. Rat IgG could be detected with developed biosensor and impedance analyzer. The biosensor showed good repeatability and availability of detecting concentration changes of rat IgG.

  • In this paper we analyse radiation measurement method for UWB wireless system of the wideband low power frequency characteristics. In the radiation measurement environment we discuss RMS electric field strength, UWB PSD, UWB detect signal level, UWB noise signal collection etc.. also, we discuss power measure method of the CISPR16-1, low level e.i.r.p radiation measurement method. lastly we analyse consideration problem for the signal analyser of the UWB system.

  • The tomographic imaging that employs ultrasonic echos has achieved outstanding advances in recent years, and today, ultrasonic diagnostic equipment has become the tool that is absolutely indispensible for clinical operations. Meanwhile, the feasility of measuring blood flow in the heart and vessels by the use of Doppler effect in ultrasonic waves is a well known fact. With respect to the method of blood flow measurment, there are two kinds which employ continous wave and pulse wave doppler system. In this paper, we describe the measurment of Blood flow-turbulence using general purpose Digital Signal Processing Board which had been implemented for the purpose of real-time spectrum analyser. Blood flow-turbulence means the blood-flow behavior. And it's value proportional to the spectrum variance. Therefore mean frequency of blood signal and variance provide useful diagnostic information. We have applied to the major arteries and vein, obtained the information about the time dependent blood-flow behavior.

The comparison of the voice between the free field and the external auditory canal (음장과 외이도 내부에서의 음성 비교)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine some acoustic characteristics in the ear canal. It was assumed that a sound outside the external auditory canal could be different from the sound inside the external auditory canal. The acoustic signals were captured by a probe microphone placed at a distance within 1 cm from the tympanic membrane, and a reference microphone was placed over the upper pinna. Three vowels /a/, /i/, /u/ were recorded from a normal adult male speaker. The parameters such as the formant frequency ($Fl\simF5$) and the peak intensity were measured using a speech analyser, PCquirer. It was found that the entering part of the external auditory canal functions as a narrowing point as to the speech that passes through the free field. Results show that acoustic characteristics were changed for speech discrimination rather than speech perception.

  • 후두전적출술후 음성재활방법은 식도발성, 기관식도발성, 전기후두발성, 기체역학형 인공후두 발성등이 있다. 본 연구에서는 각각의 음향학적 특성과 어떤 방법이 음성의 발성에 효과적이고, 음의 고저를 잘 나타낼 수 있는 지를 연구하였고 식도발성과 기관식도발성이 동시에 가능한 환자에서도 위와 같이 어떤 것이 음의 고저를 잘 나타낼 수 있는 지를 보고자 본 연구를 시행하였다. 식도발성자 5명, 기관식도발성자 7명(2가지가 다 가능한 발성자 2명을 포함하여), 전기후두발성자 3명과 공기를 이용한 인공후두(Pneumatic speech aid) 발성자 3명을 대상으로 하여 Maximal phonation time(sec), Sound intensity (dB SPL), Fundemental frequency (F0), Jitter(%), Shimmer(%)를 Matlab V5.1을 기초로 저자들이 고안한 프로그램인 Laryngeal analyser Vl.0 으로 측정하였다. 각각의 발성법에 따라 특징적인 변수의 차이가 있었으며 그중 공기를 이용한 인공후두 발성자에서 음의 고저를 가장 잘 표현하였다. (p<0.01). 그리고 식도발성과 기관식도발성을 같이 사용할 수 있는 2명에서 식도발성이 기관식도발성보다 더 효과적으로 음의 고저를 잘 나타냈다.

DLC/Diamond 박막의 원자력분야 응용을 위한 기본연구

  • 최근들어 그 활용도가 점점 증대되고 있는 DLU(Diamond-like Carbon) /Diamond 박막(thin film)의 합성기술을 개발하여 원자력분야에 응용하고자 시도하였다. 이를 위하여 13.56 MHz의 고주파(RF: radio-frequency)를 사용하는 플라즈마 화학증착(PECVD: Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition) 장치를 직접 제작하여 탄소함유(CH$_4$, $CO_2$...등) 기체로부터 기본적인 DLC 박막증착시험을 수행하였다. 실험은 진공증착기(vacuum chamber)내의 압력(pressure), 탄소함유 기체의 조성비, 그리고 바이어스전압(negative self-bias voltage)둥을 변화시키면서 수행하였다. 증착속도(deposition rate)는 증착층의 두께를 알파스템($\alpha$-step)으로 측정하여 결정하였으며, 이로부터 증착속도가 압력 및 바이어스 전압의 증가에 따라 증가함을 알 수 있었다. 또한 바이어스 전압 300V 이상에서 $CO_2$량 증가가 증착속도를 촉진시킨다는 사실도 확인하였다. 그리고 EPMA(electron probe micro-analyser) 및 Raman 스펙트럼분석을 통하여 증착층의 구조가 DLC 임을 확인하였다.

Preparation and Dielectric Properties of Ceramic(BNT)-Polymer(LCP) Composite (세라믹(BNT)-폴리머(LCP) 복합체 제조 및 유전특성)

  • In this research, the composites (100-x)LCP-xBNT (x = 0, 10, 20, 30, 40 vol.%) were fabricated with thermoplastic LCP(Liquid Crystal Polymer) and BNT($BaNd_2Ti_4O_{12}$) which is a high frequency dielectric material. Their dielectric properties, mechanical strength and microstructure were investigated by Impedance analyser, Instron and SEM. In order to fabricate LCP-BNT composites, LCP resin was put into the twin screw type mixer($310^{\circ}C$), melted by keeping for 10 min. After that, BNT filler was dispersed with melted LCP resin for 15 min. in the mixer. For measuring the dielectric properties and mechanical strength, Composite specimens were made by pressing composite granule (LCP-BNT) with 7 ton in the mold at $310^{\circ}C$. With increasing the BNT content (0~40 vol.%) of the composite, Its dielectric constant increased, dielectric loss and flexural strength decreased. The dielectric constant and flexural strength of composites with 20~30 vol.% of BNT filler are 4.1~6.0 and 35~55 MPa respectively. BNT/LCP composite is the potential substrate material for the high frequency application.

A Study on the Dynamic Behavior of a Various Buried Pipeline (각종 매설관의 동적거동에 관한 연구)

  • This work reports the results of our study on the dynamic response of various buried pipelines depending on their boundary conditions. We have studied behavior of the buried pipelines both along the axial and the transverse direction. The buried pipelines are modeled as beams on elastic foundation while the seismic wave as a ground displacement in the form of a sinusoidal wave. The natural frequency, its mode, and the effect of parameters have been interpreted in terms of free vibration. In order to investigate the response on the ground wave, the resulting frequency and the mode shape obtained from the free vibration have been utilized to derive the mathematical formula for the forced vibration. The natural frequency varies most significantly by the soil stiffness and the length of the buried pipelines in the case of free vibration. The effects of the propagation direction and velocity and the frequency of ground wave on the dynamic responses of concrete, steel, and FRP pipes have been analyzed and then dynamic responses depending on the type of pipes have been compared. Through performing dynamic analyser for various boundary conditions and estimation of the location of maximum strain has been estimated for the type of pipes and boundary conditions.
