  • This paper considers a Bayesian approach to determine an optimal replacement policy for a repairable system with warranty period. The mathematical formula of the expected cost rate per unit time is obtained for two cases : RFRW(renewing free-replacement warranty) and RPRW(renewing pro-rata warranty). When the failure time is Weibull distribution with uncertain parameters, a Bayesian approach is established to formally express and update the uncertain parameters for determining an optimal replacement policy. Some numerical examples are presented for illustrative purpose.

  • This paper proposes age replacement policy in stepdown warranty policy. The replacement policy is considered in case of minimally repairable items. And renewal theory is used in analyzing warranty costs. The expected cost per unit time is presented in stepdown warranty policy, free replacement, prorata and hybrid policy. In this article it is assumed that item is replaced at the age of T but the any failure is minimally repaired before the age T. At this point the expected cost per unit time is shown in customer's view point. And numerical example is explored in weibull time-to-failure distribution.

  • This paper is concerned with cost analysis and determination of warranty period in a stepdown warranty policy. Manufacturer's warranty cost is analyzed for nonrepairable item, where the warranty is assumed to be renewed at any failure within the warranty period. It is shown that from this result in free replacement policy, pro-rata policy and hybrid policy can be easily calculated. The method of determining optimal warranty period is also explored.

  • This article is concerned with cost analysis in warranty policy. The warranty cost can be different according to warranty rate and warranty renewal policy. In this paper the stepdown warranty policy is analyzed. Assuming the nonrepairable item, manufacturer's cost is calculated in stepdown warranty policy and free replacement, pro-rata, hybrid policy. Numerical examples are given over Weibull time-to-failure distribution.

  • This paper considers the maintenance model suggested by Jung and Park (2010) to adopt the Bayesian approach and obtain an optimal replacement policy following the expiration of NFRRW. As the criteria to determine the optimal maintenance period, we use the expected cost during the life cycle of the system. When the failure times are assumed to follow a Weibull distribution with unknown parameters, we propose an optimal maintenance policy based on the Bayesian approach. Also, we describe the revision of uncertainty about parameters in the light of data observed. Some numerical examples are presented for illustrative purpose.

  • This article suggests the costs analysis of resumer's view under the stepdown warranty is renewd whenever a failure occurs in the warranty period. And the general warranty policy is showed such as free replacement policy prorata warranty policy, hybrid warranty policy. In this respect case, the cost of consumer is also calculated. In order to study the cost analysis of consumer. "RENEWAL THEORY" is introduced and the cost of consumer is calculated.alculated.

  • This paper considers a Bayesian approach to replacement policy following the expiration of non-renewing combination warranty. The non-renewing combination warranty is the combination of the non-renewing free replacement warranty and the non-renewing pro-rata replacement warranty. We use the criterion based on the expected cost and the expected downtime to determine the optimal replacement period. To do so, we obtain the expected cost rate per unit time and the expected downtime per unit time, respectively. When the failure times are assumed to follow a Weibull distribution with uncertain parameters, we propose the optimal replacement policy based on the Bayesian approach. The overall value function suggested by Jiang and Ji (2002) is utilized to determine the optimal replacement period. Also, the numerical examples are presented for illustrative purpose.

  • This paper is concerned with warranty cost models for a product with two types of failure ; type 1 failures corrected by minimal repair and type 2 failures removed only by replacement. Two warranty policies involving an initial free service period followed by a pro-rata period are considered ; the difference is whether the warranty is renewed or not when type 2 failure occures during its free service period. Expected warranty costs under the two policies are obtained, and their behaviors are examined for the case where type 1 and 2 failure distributions are Weibull and exponential, respectively.

  • This paper proposes a stepdown warranty policy: the warranty period consists of subintervals where the manufacturer's compensation is constant for warranty failures and decreases with the subinterval's number. Manufacturer's unit warranty cost is analyzed for both irrepairable and repairable products. we assume that only minimal repairs are performed for repairable items. Comparison with the free replacement polity indicates that the proposed policy has a longer warranty period if tile warranty reserves are the same and that manufacturer`s unit warranty cost is smaller if the warranty periods are tile same. Some numerical examples are also given.

  • Present worth of warranty cost for an irrepairable item is derived under free-replacement, prorata and hybrid warranty policies, respectively. In this paper, it is assumed that the lifetime distribution is a Gamma, and warranty period is not renewed but maintained as promised at the selling time regardless of replacements due to warranty contract. A numerical example on the relationship between present worth of warranty cost and mean time to failure is included.
