Magnetic actuation utilizes the mechanic torque that is the result of interaction of the current in a coil with an external magnetic field. A main obstacle is, however, that torques can only be produced perpendicular to the magnetic field. In addition, there is uncertainty in the Earth magnetic field models due to the complicated dynamic nature of the field. Also, the magnetic hardware and the spacecraft can interact, causing both to behave in undesirable ways. This actuation principle has been a topic of research since earliest satellites were launched. Earlier magnetic control has been applied for nutation damping for gravity gradient stabilized satellites, and for velocity decrease for satellites without appendages. The three axes of a micro-satellite can be stabilized by using an electromagnetic actuator which is rigidly mounted on the structure of the satellite. The actuator consists of three mutually-orthogonal air-cored coils on the skin of the satellite. The coils are excited so that the orbital frame magnetic field and body frame magnetic field coincides i.e. to make the Euler angles to zero. This can be done using a Neural Network controller trained by PD controller data and driven by the difference between the orbital and body frame magnetic fields.

A new blank design method is proposed to predict the optimum initial blank shape in the sheet metal forming process. The rollback method for blank shape design takes the difference between final deformed shape and target contour shape into account. Based on the method, a computer program composed of blank design module, FE-analysis program and mesh generation module is developed. The rollback method is applied to square cup drawing process with the flange of unifiorm size around its periphery to confirm its validity. The optimum initial blank shape is obtained from an arbitrary square blank after three modifications. Good agreements are recognized between the numerical results and the published results for initial blank shape and thickness strain distribution. The optimum blank shape for two parts of automobile sub-frame is designed. The thickness distribution and the level of punch load is improved. Also, the method is applied to design the weld line in the tailor-welded blank. It is concluded that the rollback method is an effective and convenient method for an optimum blank shape design.
Discrimination of music and speech from the multimedia signal is an important task in audio coding and broadcast monitoring systems. This paper deals with the problem of feature parameter extraction for discrimination of music and speech. The wavelet transform is a multi-resolution analysis method that is useful for analysis of temporal and spectral properties of non-stationary signals such as speech and audio signals. We propose new feature parameters extracted from the wavelet transformed signal for discrimination of music and speech. First, wavelet coefficients are obtained on the frame-by-frame basis. The analysis frame size is set to 20 ms. A parameter $E_{sum}$ is then defined by adding the difference of magnitude between adjacent wavelet coefficients in each scale. The maximum and minimum values of $E_{sum}$ for period of 2 seconds, which corresponds to the discrimination duration, are used as feature parameters for discrimination of music and speech. To evaluate the performance of the proposed feature parameters for music and speech discrimination, the accuracy of music and speech discrimination is measured for various types of music and speech signals. In the experiment every 2-second data is discriminated as music or speech, and about 93% of music and speech segments have been successfully detected.

If the EOIR equipment mounted on an unmanned aircraft transmits images and receives commands through a data link, there may be delays in data transmission depending on the transmission path of the data and the conditions of the ground equipment or wireless network. This increases the possibility of initial target LOCK-ON failure due to the difference between the time when the received image is viewed and the time when the image is taken. Therefore, this paper proposed a way to use frame indexes to synchronize with images, and to increase the success of target tracking by adding frame indexes to commands from the ground station.
This paper assesses the influences of modeling assumptions and uncertainties on the performance of the non-linear finite element (FE) model updating procedure and model clustering method. The results of a shaking table test on a four-story steel moment-resisting frame are employed for both calibrations and clustering of the FE models. In the first part, simple to detailed non-linear FE models of the test frame is calibrated to minimize the difference between the various data features of the models and the structure. To investigate the effect of the specified data feature, four of which include the acceleration, displacement, hysteretic energy, and instantaneous features of responses, have been considered. In the last part of the work, a model-based clustering approach to group models of a four-story frame with similar behavior is introduced to detect abnormal ones. The approach is a composition of property derivation, outlier removal based on k-Nearest neighbors, and a K-means clustering approach using specified data features. The clustering results showed correlations among similar models. Moreover, it also helped to detect the best strategy for modeling different structural components.
This study aims to examine the elastic stiffness properties of Elliptic-Braced Moment Resisting Frame (EBMRF) subjected to lateral loads. Installing the elliptic brace in the middle span of the frames in the facade of a building, as a new lateral bracing system not only it can improve the structural behavior, but it provides sufficient space to consider opening it needed. In this regard, for the first time, an accurate theoretical formulation has been developed in order that the elastic stiffness is investigated in a two-dimensional single-story single-span EBMRF. The concept of strain energy and Castigliano's theorem were employed to perform the analysis. All influential factors were considered, including axial and shearing loads in addition to the bending moment in the elliptic brace. At the end of the analysis, the elastic lateral stiffness could be calculated using an improved relation through strain energy method based on geometric properties of the employed sections as well as specifications of the utilized materials. For the ease of finite element (FE) modeling and its use in linear design, an equivalent element was developed for the elliptic brace. The proposed relation was verified by different examples using OpenSees software. It was found that there is a negligible difference between elastic stiffness values derived by the developed equations and those of numerical analysis using FE method.

In this paper, an efficient method to find shot boundaries in the MPEG video stream data is proposed. For this purpose, we first assume that the histogram difference value(HDV) and pixel difference value(PDV) as an one dimensional signal and apply the median filter to these signals. The output of the median filter is subtracted from the original signal to produce the median filtered difference(MFD). The MFD is a criterion of shot boundary. In addition a neural network is employed and trained to find exactly cut boundary. The proposed algorithm shows that the cut boundaries are well extracted, especially in a dynamic video.
In this paper, we propose a smoke detection method which is based on block-wise difference of image frames in video. Our proposed method is composed of three steps which are (a) the detection step of the changed regions against the background, (b) the background update step, and (c) the smoke determination step from the changed regions. We first construct the block mean Image of frames in video. And to extract the changed regions against the background, we use a block-wise difference between background's block mean image and a current input frame's block mean image. After applying projections in block-based difference images, we can determine the changed regions as rectangles using projections of difference images. we propose a update scheme of background's block mean image using the projections. We decide the smoke region using the femoral statistics of the central position and YUV color in the changed region.

The purpose of this study is to compare the seismic resistant capacity inherent in ductile moment resisting frames using two different joint modeling. The difference between these two models is the capability for considering the panel zone deformation. For this purpose, 5 story steel moment frame is designed in compliance to the Korean seismic design provisions and the steel structure design standard. Nonlinear Static Procedure(NSP) and Nonlinear Dynamic Procedure(NDP) of this structure are carried out using two different joint models. Based on the results of NSP and NDP, the sensitivity of the response to analytical modeling is appraised. Also, it is proposed that for the highrise steel structures, the joint deformation should be accounted properly by the analytical model.

In this study, the experimental study on Insulation performance of insulated forms utilizing NT frame heat insulation at low Temperature. For this study, placing insulated TEGO film plywood based form between two constant temperature and humidity chamber that maintaining 10℃, decrease temperature of one chamber to -10℃ and -20℃. Each of steps, maintaining period of temperature was 1 hour. After placing the insulated form, measure temperature of outside if insulated form. As a result of experiment, temperature difference of Fumed Silica Vacuum insulation was lowest.
