A fundamental study for the numerical scheme to simulate unsteady nonlinear waves by solving Euler equations is presented. First a conservation form and a non-conservation form of the Euler equations with a free surface fitted coordinate system are compared. Next, a time splitting fractional step method and an alternating direction implicit(ADI) method for the time integration are compared. For the comparative study, flow calculations around a bottom bump in a channel and a NACA 0012 hydrofoil in a flume are performed. The results show that the ADI method with a third order upwind differencing scheme is very efficient in reducing the computing time with keeping the accuracy, And, there is no distinct difference between two expression forms except that the non-conservative form shows faster wave propagating velocity than the conservation form. Some results are compared with experiments and show good agreement.

In this paper, we propose a novel radiometric calibration method which can effectively compensate the nonlinearity of the detector for hyper-spectral camera. In general, the detector of hyper-spectral camera can produce nonlinear output depending on radiance and integral time. The conventional radiometric calibration methods extract the imprecise radiance profile from the spectral profile of the target due to this nonlinearity. In our proposed method, we use a quadratic equation instead of a linear equation to describe the relation between output of detector and radiance. Then, we use a fractional function to compensate variation of integration time. Thus, our proposed method can extract more precise spectral profile of radiance than conventional radiometric calibration method.

This paper introduces a low-cost, high-performance mmWave antenna array module at 77 GHz. Conventional waveguide transitions have been replaced by 3D CPW-microstrip transitions which are much simpler to realize. They are compatible with low-cost substrate fabrication processes, allowing easy integration of ICs in 3D multi-chip modules. An antenna array is designed and implemented using multilayer coupled-fed patch antenna technology. The proposed $16{\times}16$ array antenna has a fractional bandwidth of 8.4% (6.5 GHz) and a 23.6-dBi realized gain at 77 GHz.

Lock-in and drag amplification phenomena are studied for a flexible cantilever using a simplified fluid-structure interaction approach. Instead of solving the 3D domain, a simplified setup is devised, in which 2D flow problems are solved on a number of planes parallel to the wind direction and transversal to the structure. On such planes, the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations are solved to estimate the fluid action at different positions of the line-like structure. The fluid flow on each plane is coupled with the structural deformation at the corresponding position, affecting the dynamic behaviour of the system. An Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian (ALE) approach is used to take in account the deformation of the domain, and a fractional-step scheme is used to solve the fluid field. The stabilization of incompressibility and convection is achieved through orthogonal quasi-static subscales, an approach that is believed to provide a first step towards turbulence modelling. In order to model the structural problem, a special one-dimensional element for thin walled cross-section beam is implemented. The standard second-order Bossak method is used for the time integration of the structural problem.

Kinetic energy conservation for fixed and moving grids is examined in time-accurate finite element computation of fully unsteady inviscid flows. As numerical algorithms, fractional step method (FSM) and modified SIMPLE are used. To simulate the flow in moving grid system, arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian (ALE) method is adopted. In the present study, the energy conserving time integration rule for finite element algorithm is proposed and discussed schematically. It is shown that the discretization by Crank-Nicolson in time and Galerkin (central difference) in space must be used to ensure energy conservation. The developed code has been tested for a standing vortex in fixed or moving grid system, sloshing in a tank and propagation of a solitary wave, and has been shown to be a completely energy conserving algorithm.

Recently, SIW(Substrate Integrated Waveguide) is intensively studied because of its high Q and easy integration with other devices. However, lacks of analytic characterization of SIW makes it difficult an accurate design of a SIW filter along the conventional filter design method. In this paper, two kinds of a three-stage 10 GHz SIW bandpass filter of fractional bandwidth 10% are designed using 3D EM simulator HFSS based on the recently presented EM filter design method. Two types of a modified CPW to SIW transition is proposed and employed as a SIW to microstrip transition necessary for measurement. The transitions provide an easy measurement with commercial test fixture by TRL calibration. The two proposed transitions are included in the SIW filters. The fabricated filters shows the center frequency of 10 GHz, fractional bandwidth 10%, a return loss of about 12 dB, and insertion loss of about 0.8 dB.

Parallelism and performance enhancement of calculating view factors in KSDS developed by KARI is introduced in this paper. View factor is an essential parameters of radiation thermal analysis for a spacecraft, and the amount of computation of them is not negligible. Especially, independent integration of view factors at each position of the orbit because the relative displace between solar panel and main body of a satellite varies with the position on the orbit. This paper introduces a range of parallelism of computing view factor and their performance, detection of obstructions by spatial search algorithm based on KD-Tree, and the reduction of the calculation of view factors of a satellite with relative motion between solar panel and main body, called updating fractional view factor matrix, for satellite thermal analysis.

In this paper, a Ka-band LTCC (low temperature co-fired ceramic) narrow bandpass filter (BPF) is firstly presented. This BPF shows very narrow 3dB fractional bandwidth of 4.5 % centered at 28.7㎓. The advantages of multi-layered LTCC technology such as high integration and vertical stacking capabilities were employed to design three-dimensional interdigital end-coupled embedded microstrip narrow BPF. The difficulties in controlling the precise distance between two adjacent resonators in LTCC end-coupled BPF were overcome by locating the resonators on different layers. The measured insertion loss is 3dB at 28.7㎓, pass band is from 27.9 ㎓ to 29.2 ㎓, and the return loss in the pass band is less than 10 dB.

To enhance the speech perception of hearing aid users in noisy environment, most hearing aid devices adopt various beamforming algorithms such as the first-order differential microphone (DM1) and the two-stage directional microphone (DM2) algorithms that maintain sounds from the direction of the interlocutor and reduce the ambient sounds from the other directions. However, these conventional algorithms represent poor directionality ability in low frequency area. Therefore, to enhance the speech perception of hearing aid uses in low frequency range, our group had suggested a fractional delay subtraction and integration (FDSI) algorithm and estimated its theoretical performance using computer simulation in previous article. In this study, we performed a KEMAR test in non-reverberant room that compares the performance of DM1, DM2, broadband beamforming (BBF), and proposed FDSI algorithms using several objective indices such as a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) improvement, a segmental SNR (seg-SNR) improvement, a perceptual evaluation of speech quality (PESQ), and an Itakura-Saito measure (IS). Experimental results showed that the performance of the FDSI algorithm was -3.26-7.16 dB in SNR improvement, -1.94-5.41 dB in segSNR improvement, 1.49-2.79 in PESQ, and 0.79-3.59 in IS, which demonstrated that the FDSI algorithm showed the highest improvement of SNR and segSNR, and the lowest IS. We believe that the proposed FDSI algorithm has a potential as a beamformer for digital hearing aid devices.
There has been constant attempts for integration of public welfare delivery system which lead to integrated case management, then this become more significant issue regarding 'community care' recently in Korea. However, most of them was limited to fractional organization rearrangement or more use of private resources rather than realising user-centred approach. Therefore, in this research, we would like to do a couple of case studies in Britain which has rich experience of reforms for integrated approaches between health and social services and Troubled Family programme resembles the integrated case management in Korea by visiting a London Borough and a local council respectively. In conclusion, we found three conditions are required to establish successful integrated delivery system: elimination of institutional barriers relating to workforce, organization, and finance; shared objectives and partnership among the professional groups and agencies; and information sharing system with technical support regarding individual cases.
