초등 과학 글쓰기 지도 전략의 개발 및 적용 (Development of Science Writing Teaching Strategy and Its Application to Elementary Science Classes)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a science writing teaching strategy, and to apply it to the fourth-graders in elementary science classes. We examined its effect on their motivation, attitude, and understanding of science concept. For the research fourth grade children were grouped into three classes: an experimental class A of 27 children, an experimental class B of 24 and a comparative class of 27. All of them are from H elementary school in Seoul, Korea. Experimental class A learned science writing with a newly developed strategy while experimental class B learned science writing in a traditional method. Comparative class did not learn science writing. As a result, class A showed positive changes on students' science motivation, attitude, and understanding of science concept. In addition, class B with even one science writing task for a chapter had higher achievement in the understanding of science concept than the comparative class had.

곱셈적 구조에 대한 2, 4, 6학년 학생들의 수학적 사고의 연결성 분석 (An analysis of the connections of mathematical thinking for multiplicative structures by second, fourth, and sixth graders)

  • This study investigated the connections of mathematical thinking of students at the second, fourth, and sixth grades with regard to multiplication, fraction, and proportion, all of which have multiplicative structures. A paper-and-pencil test and subsequent interviews were conducted. The results showed that mathematical thinking including vertical thinking and relational thinking was commonly involved in multiplication, fraction, and proportion. On one hand, the insufficient understanding of preceding concepts had negative impact on learning subsequent concepts. On the other hand, learning the succeeding concepts helped students solve the problems related to the preceding concepts. By analyzing the connections between the preceding concepts and the succeeding concepts, this study provides instructional implications of teaching multiplication, fraction, and proportion.

부산지역 일부 초등학생의 무상급식에 대한 인식 및 급식품질 만족도 (Evaluation of Perception and Foodservice Satisfaction of Free School Meals by Elementary School Students in Busan)

  • 본 연구는 무상급식의 교육적 의미와 급식품질 면에서의 개선점을 파악하고자 부산지역 초등학생 10개교 4, 5, 6학년 학생 600명을 대상으로 무상급식에 대한 인식 및 급식품질 만족도 조사를 시행하였고 조사기간은 2014년 12월 2일~12월 24일이었다. 연구 결과 무상급식 전체 인식 점수는 4.47/5.00점이었고 '영양(교)사와 조리원분에게 감사한 마음'(4.68점), '부모님의 급식비 부담 감소'(4.67점), '친환경 식재료 사용'(4.64점), '급식의 질 향상'(4.51점) 순으로 높게 나타났다. 6학년이 4학년보다 전체 인식 점수가 유의적(P<0.01)으로 높았고, '친환경 식재료 사용'(P<0.05), '영양과 건강에 관한 관심 증가'(P<0.05), '우리나라 경제발전에 기여'(P<0.001)에서도 높은 점수를 보였다. 무상급식 실시 연차 2년차가 4년차보다 전체 인식 점수가 유의적(P<0.01)으로 높았으며, '영양과 건강에 관한 관심 증가'(P<0.05), '가정경제에 도움'(P<0.05)에서도 높은 점수를 보였다. 급식품질 만족도에서 전체 평균점수는 4.55/5.00점이며, 음식영역 4.47점, 메뉴영역 4.62점, 위생영역 4.62점, 서비스영역 4.53점, 환경영역 4.48점이었다. 낮은 점수를 보인 항목은 음식영역에서 '밥의 양', '부반찬(나물, 생채) 양', '김치의 양', 메뉴영역에서 '김치 종류', '선호식단 제공빈도', 위생영역에서 '식판의 청결', 서비스영역에서는 '배식 시 대기시간', 환경영역에서는 '식당 분위기'였다. 6학년이 4학년보다 음식영역(P<0.01), 메뉴영역(P<0.05), 위생영역(P<0.05)에 서 급식품질 만족도가 유의적으로 높았으며, 환경영역은 5, 6학년이 4학년보다 유의적(P<0.001)으로 높은 점수를 보였다. 무상급식 실시 연차 2년차가 4년차보다 급식품질 전체 만족도(P<0.01), 음식영역(P<0.01), 메뉴영역(P<0.05), 위생영역(P<0.05), 환경영역(P<0.001)에서 유의적으로 높은 점수를 보였다. 무상급식에 대한 인식과 급식품질 만족도 간에는 유의한 양의 상관관계(r=0.781, P<0.01)를 보였고, 다른 모든 영역에서도 유의한 양의 상관관계를 보였다. 이상의 결과를 살펴볼 때 급식품질 만족도가 낮은 급식 항목에 대한 개선을 통해 학생들의 급식품질에 대한 만족도를 높여야 할 뿐만 아니라 학생들에게 교육의 일환으로 무상급식의 의미를 고취해 국가 복지 정책에 대한 긍정적인 사고를 갖게 함으로써 학생들의 정신적 육체적 건강을 유지할 수 있어야 하겠다.

한국 아동의 신체치수에서 본 아동용 학교 의자의 적합성 (Suitability of classroom chairs from standpoint of body dimensions of school children in Korea)

  • School children sit long on chairs in their classrom. Their posture is closely related to their chairs. Study of this relationship is very imporant for the health and education of school children. This report presents the results of study condcuted to determine the present status of classroom chairs and solve any problems identifede. The study involved 125 teachers in Seoul and Pusan, 175 fourth graders in Seoul, and 109 fourth graders in Puasn. The body dimensions of the school children and the dimensions of their chairs and desks were measured, and their postures while they studied at their desk were photographed. The following problems were identified as a result of the investigation: (1) Chairs are allocated to pupils according to their stature. (2) The teachers are not satisfied with the chairs and the method by which the chairs are allocated to their pupils. (3) The pupils complain of low seat height, narrow seat, and hard backrest, among other conditions. (4) The pupils select a chair one size larger than that suggested by their body size. (5) The poor posture of the pupils is traced to the seat height and sasyaku$(sitting height {\times} 1/3-1)$ of their chairs, their habit, their way of holding pencils, and lack of instruction by their teachers. The following recommendations are made to solve these problems: (1) Adjust the seat height and desk height to accommodate the pupils. (2) Provide both teachers and pupils with adequate knowledge of chails. (3) Provided each pupil with one desk and make the desk adjustable to sit his or her body dimensions. (4) Allocate a chair and desk to each pupil for his or her exclusive use. (5) Reserch and develop conversion tables that help to find suitable chails for individual pupils. New values of sasyaku and desk height, not specified in Korean Industrial Standards(KS), are proposed.

아동용 교우관계문제검사의 개발과 타당화 (Development and Validation of Inventory of Peer Relation Problems for Elementary School Children)

  • This study has been carried out with the aims of developing a comprehensive inventory of peer relation problems, which is based on the Korean Inventory of Interpersonal Problems Circumplex scales (KIIP-C). It also aims to examine reliability and validity of the inventory, and provide a preliminary norms. For the current study, inventory items were culled from the following sources: the Korean Inventory of Interpersonal Problems Circumplex scales (KIIP-C), various current scales dealing with peer relations of children, and a survey of children's peer relation problems. The preliminary items for each scale were administered to 220 fourth through sixth graders. The resulting skewness of distribution, kurtosis, mean and standard deviation, item-total correlation, internal consistency, and meanings of the items were comprehensively considered in selecting the final 64 items. In order to check on reliability, internal consistency, convergence and discrimination reliability of the final items and scales, the data were collected from 1,046 fourth through sixth graders currently attending four elementary schools. The study results can be summarized as follows. Internal consistency of the inventory of peer relation problems showed the range between .70-.94 (median value of .75), split-half reliability between .67-.83 (median value of .75), and test-retest reliability between .69-.88 (median value of .81). Inter-correlation of 8 scale scores and factor analysis results of individual ipsative scores showed that the circumplex property of inventory of peer relation problems is appropriate. Regarding correlations between various existing indices and scales related to peer relation problems, both convergence reliability and discrimination reliability were found to be fair. When the scale scores for the inventory of peer relation problems compared according to the factors of gender and grade, the primary effects of gender and grade were statistically meaningful whereas effects of interaction between gender and grade were not. This study can be considered meaningful in that it constructed an inventory for a comprehensive evaluation of peer relation problems specific for children and provided preliminary norms.

초등융합영재 선발요소의 상관관계 및 그룹 차이 분석 (Analysis of Correlation and Group Difference for Selection of Elementary Fusion Gifted Students)

  • 4차 산업혁명시대에 필요한 인재는 특정 학문에 종속되는 것이 아니라 여러 학문들을 융합할 수 있어야 한다. 초등학생들의 경우에 다양한 변화의 가능성이 있기 때문에 융합적인 사고를 갖는 것이 중요하다. 따라서 초등학교 영재를 선발할 때에도 융합 영재 학생들을 선발하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 융합 영재 학생들을 선발할 때에 창의적인 문제 해결력, 서류 평가, 면접 요소들이 학생 선발에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 알아본다. 연구 결과 창의적 문제해결력이 선발에 미치는 영향력이 가장 높다. 5학년의 경우에는 창의적인 문제 해결력과 서류 평가가 선발에 영향을 미치고, 4학년의 경우에는 창의적인 문제 해결력과 면접이 선발에 영향을 미치고. 여학생들은 창의적인 문제해결력과 서류 평가가 선발에 영향을 미친다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그룹별로 차이를 분석한 결과, 성별에서는 서류 평가에서 성별로 차이가 있었고, 학년별 유의미한 차이점이 없다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

한국 초등학생의 학습동기 요인 분석 (A Factor Analysis of Motivation To Learn Among Korean Elementary School Children)

  • 본 연구는 암묵적 이론(implicit theory)의 관점에서 한국 초등학생들의 학습동기에 영향을 주는 요인이 무엇이고 어떻게 구성되어 있으며, 이러한 학습동기 요인의 구성은 성별에 따라 어떤 차이가 있는가를 밝혀보는 데에 그 목적이 있다. 한국 초등학생들의 학습행동에 관련된 동기에 대한 암묵적 이론을 이끌어내고 체계화시키기 위하여 초등학생들이 가장 열심히 학습하고 있는 활동이 무엇이고 그러한 학습활동을 열심히 하는 이유가 무엇인지 조사하여 그 원인을 문항으로 하는 측정도구를 제작하여 학습동기 요인을 분석하였다. 전국에 걸쳐 지역을 고려하여 7개 도시에서 무선 표집한 초등학교 4~6학년 856명을 대상으로 학습활동의 원인에 관한 탐색적 및 확인적 요인분석의 결과 유용성, 흥미, 인정, 지식획득, 기대충족의 5가지 요인으로 나타났다. 남녀별로 보면 남학생은 유용성-흥미-인정-지식획득-기대충족의 순으로 5가지 요인이 나타났고, 여학생은 흥미-유용성-보상-인정--기대충족-경쟁의 순으로 6가지 요인으로 나타나 남녀간 요인수와 요인구조에 다소 차이가 있었다.

초등학교 교사의 디지털 교과서에 대한 인식과 정보기술수용모델에 기반한 디지털 교과서 수용에 관한 연구 (A Study of Primary School Teachers' Awareness of Digital Textbooks and Their Acceptance of Digital Textbooks Based on the Technology Acceptance Model)

  • 2014년부터 초등학교 3-4학년 학생들이 사회, 과학, 영어 과목에서 디지털 교과서를 사용할 예정이고, 그 다음 해에 5-6학년 학생들도 같은 과목에서 디지털 교과서를 사용하게 된다. 이에 본 연구에서는 디지털 교과서를 아직 접하지 못한 초등학교 교사들이 디지털교과서에 대해 어떤 인식을 갖고 있고, 정보기술수용모델에 근거하여 초등학교 교사들이 디지털 교과서를 어느 정도 수용하는지 알아보았다. 연구 결과에 따르면, 응답한 많은 초등학교 교사들이 디지털 교과서를 사용할 준비가 되어 있지 않았고, 디지털 교과서 사용에 대해 우려하는 것으로 나타났다. 하지만, 디지털 교과서를 사용할 경우 유용성과 유희성이 디지털 교과서를 수용하는 데 있어 중요한 변인으로 나타났다.

환경온 변화에 따른 비만 아동의 체온조절 행동 (Thermoregulatory Behaviors of Obese Children According to Temperature Change)

  • This study investigates thermoregulatory behaviors of obese children for their thermal comfort. Nine normal-weight children (NWC) and nine obese children (OC) participated in the study. All subjects were fourth-graders and sixth-graders in elementary school. An informed consent form was obtained from each child and his or her mother. The questionnaire method was used, and the experiment was conducted to determine the preferred amount of clothing at $17^{\circ}C$ and the preferred temperature at $33^{\circ}C$. According to the results, OC were more susceptible to heat than NWC, whereas there was no significant difference in their susceptibility to cold. There were no significant differences of the oral temperature and the mean skin temperature between the two groups, but changes in forearm blood flow were less in OC than in NWC. There was no significant difference in the preferred amount of clothing between OC and NWC, and the preferred temperature was higher in NWC than in OC. The results based on the questionnaire are consistent with those based on the experiment. A compositive study of physical exercise, eating behavior, and wearing behavior should be useful for developing programs for preventing and treating obese children.

청소년의 부모와의 갈등 및 의사소통과 자아개념 (Adolescents' Conflict, Communication with Parents and Their Self-Concept)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the levels of the adolescents' self-concept, communication, and conflict with parents, and to examine relationship between adolescents' conflict and their communication. This study also investigated the effect of the conflict and the communication on their self-concept. 179 second graders of 3 middle schools and 182 6th graders of 2 elementary schools of East Jeonnam were selected as the subjects. The questionnaires for the communication and the conflict between the adolescents and the parents and the self-concept inventory were used. The data were analyzed by regression analysis, t-test, paired-t-test, one way ANOVA and Duncan analysis. First, mother was better than father in the communication with the adolescent. The conflicts with the parents were as shown below in order; the homework, school record, sibling relationship, playing computer games, etc.. The adolescents' self-concept was above the median. Second, the adolescents' conflicts and communications with parents were negatively correlated. Third, there was a difference in the adolescents' self-concept according to the conflict with the parents. Fourth, the adolescents' self-identity was influenced by the communication with the parents. Their self-acceptance was highly influenced by the conflict and the communication with the parents. Their self-behavior was influenced by the communication with the parents.
