미끄럼운동 시 TiN코팅에 형성되는 산화막이 마찰 및 마멸 특성에 미치는 영향

  • In this study, the effects of oxide layer formed on the wear tracks of TiN coated silicon wafer on friction and wear characteristics were investigated. Silicon wafer was used for the substrate of coated disk specimens, which were prepared by depositing TiN coating with $1{\mu}m$ in coating thickness. AISI 52100 steel ball was used for the counterpart. The tests were performed both in air for forming oxide layer on the wear track and in nitrogen to avoid oxidation. This paper reports characterization of the oxide layer effects on friction and wear characteristics using X-ray diffraction (XRD). Auger electron spectroscopy (AES), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and sliding tests.

Preparation and Characterization of Ultra Thin TaN Films Prepared by RF Magnetron Sputtering

  • Ultra thin tantalum nitride (TaNx) films with various thicknesses (10 nm to 40 nm) have been deposited by rf magnetron sputtering technique on glass substrates. The as deposited films were systematically characterized by several analytical techniques such as X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, field emission scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, UV-Vis-NIR double beam spectrophotometer and four point probe method. From the XRD results, the as deposited films are in amorphous nature, irrespective of the film thicknesses. The films composition was changed greatly with increasing the film thickness. SEM micrographs exhibited the densely pack microstructure, and homogeneous surface covered by small size grains at lower thickness deposited films. The surface roughness of the films was linearly increases with increasing the films thickness, consequently the transmittance decreased. The absorption edge was shifted towards higher wavelength as the film thickness increases.

UV-Induced Graft Polymerization of Polypropylene-g-glycidyl methacrylate Membrane in the Vapor Phase

  • UV-induced graft polymerization of glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) to a polypropylene (PP) membrane was carried out in the vapor phase with benzophenone (BP) as a photoinitiator. Attenuated total reflection Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy (AFM), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were utilized to characterize the copolymer. The degree of grafting increased with increasing reaction time, increased UV irradiation source intensity, and increased immersion concentration of the BP solution. The optimum synthetic condition for the PP-g-GMA membrane was obtained with a reaction time of 2 hrs, a UV irradiation source intensity of 450 W, and an immersion concentration of the BP solution of 0.5 mol/L. The pure water flux decreased upon increasing the degree of grafting and increasing the amount of diethylamino functional group introduced. The analysis of AFM and SEM images shows that the graft chains and diethylamino groups of PP-g-GMA grew on the PP membrane surface, resulting in a change in surface morphology.

Annealing Temperature Dependence on the Physicochemical Properties of Copper Oxide Thin Films

  • We report the results of the characterization of Cu oxide thin films deposited by radio frequency (r.f.) magnetron sputtering at different annealing temperatures. The deposited Cu oxide thin films were investigated by scanning electron microscopy, spectroscopic ellipsometry, X-ray diffraction, atomic force microscopy, Xray photoelectron spectroscopy, and contact angle measurements. The thickness of the films was about 180 nm and the monoclinic CuO phase was detected. The $CuO_2$ and $Cu(OH)_2$ phases were grown as amorphous phase and the ratio of the three phases were independent on the annealing temperature. The surface of Cu oxide films changed from hydrophilic to hydrophobic as the annealing temperature increased. This phenomenon is due to the increase of the surface roughness. The direct optical band gap was also obtained and laid in the range between 2.36 and 3.06 eV.

$YMnO_3$ 와 Bi 첨가한 $YMnO_3$ 의 저온성장과 표면분석 (Low temperature growth and surface analysis of $YMnO_3$ and Bi modified $YMnO_3$ films)

  • Bi가 첨가된 강유전체 YMnO$_3$ (YBM)와 YMnO$_3$을 펄스 레이저 증착법을 이용하여 MgO(111)기판 위에 증착하였다. 증착시 기판온도와 산소분압에 따른 YBM 박막과 YMnO3 박막의 결정성장거동에 대하여 연구하였고, Bi의 첨가량에 따른 YBM 박막의 저온결정성화 효과에 대하여 관찰하였다. YMnO$_3$는 830 $^{\circ}C$이상에서 산소분압이 감소함에 따라서 c축 우선성장 거동을 보였다. 그에 비해 YBM은 700 $^{\circ}C$이상에서 산소분압이 증가함에 따라 c축 우선성장 하는 것을 관찰하였다. 이것은 Bi 첨가효과로 인해 저온결정화와 높은 산소분압에서 c축 우선성장을 하는 것으로 생각된다. Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM)분석과 Secondary Electron Microscopy(SEM)을 통하여 Bi의 첨가량이 증가함에 따라서 표면거칠가 감소하고 grain size가 증가함을 알 수 있었다. Bi의 거동을 살펴 보기 위해 Rutherford Backscattering spectroscopy (RBS)분석을 해보았다. 이 분석을 통해 Bi를 첨가한 YMnO$_3$는 Bi가 표면에 산화물형태로 존재함을 알 수 있었다.

  • 본 실험은 고출력 반도체 레이저의 p-side-down 마운팅용 솔더로서 AuSn 합금 솔더(80wt%:20wt%)의 적합성에 대해 연구하였다. $1{\mu}m$이하의 균일도로 폴리싱 된 Cu heat sink의 표면에 두께 $1{\mu}m$의 Ni로 코팅을 한다음, AuSn 다층박막은 e-beam 증착기로 AuSn 합금 솔더는 열증착기로 각각 증착하였다. 열처리는 산화 방지를 위해 $N_2$ 분위기에서 행하였으며, 동일한 압력으로 마운팅을 하였다. 표면의 거칠기와 형상은 AFM(Atomic Force Microscope)과 SEM(Scanning Electron Microscopy)으로 그리고 Au와 Sn의 성분비는 AES(Auger Electron Spectroscopy) 로 비교하였다. 또한 CW(연속발진)을 통한 L-I(Light-Current)측정을 통해 본딩상태를 비교하였다.

  • CIGS solar cell에서 p-type semiconductor역할을 수행하는 Cu(In,Ga)Se로 이루어진 Absorber layer는 4 element multi binary compound로 stoichiometry 측면에서 다양한 형태가 나타나기 때문에 태양전지 효율을 향상시키기 위해 이에 대한 연구가 활발하다. 우리는 E-beam evaporation 방법으로 다양한 조건의 multi layer로 증착된 CIG layer 위에 일정 두께의 Se을 증착하면서 열처리 조건에 따른 Selenization 메커니즘에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 결과분석을 위해(in-situ High Temperature) XRD, XPS, Micro Raman spectroscopy, FE-SEM, (Nano Indentor, Atomic Force Microscopy) 등을 이용하여 결정구조, 결정화도, Depth profile, Eg (band gap energy) 등을 알아보고 분석결과간의 상관관계를 고찰하였다.

다양한 제형을 활용한 화장수의 제조와 보습효과 (Formation of Skin Lotions Using Various Vehicles and Skin Hydration Effects for a Skin)

  • We have produced, characterized and compared different colloidal vehicles based on nanoemulsions. We also have investigated morphology and droplet distribution by means of electron microscope and photon correlation spectroscopy. Nanoemulsion systems characterized by different method on formulations have been obtained. Hydration power has been studied by means of a corneometer, measuring the skin electrical capacitance before and after the application of various type of skin lotions. It has been demonstrated that nanoemulsion with oil or fatty alcohol displayed a pronounced hydration power with respect to the solubilization system. In order to compare the smoothness of the skin after using skin lotion, we have measured the friction force. The skin lotions produced by nanoemulsion technique show improved smoothness of an atopic skin.

  • We studied the surface defects and the current distributions of ITO thin films by reflected electron energy loss spectroscopy (REELS) and conductiveatomic force microscope (c-AFM). The ohmic behavior of ITO thin film was observed at $230\;^{\circ}C$ annealed sample. The defects related to the electronic structure decreased after anneal process.

  • Electronic and structural properties of the interfaces formed by pentacene deposited on a polymer-based dielectrics are investigated by electron spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy, and water contact angle measurement. There is strong influence of surface treatment of the polymer dielectrics on the energy level alignment and the surface topography upon the pentacene deposition.
