In this study, four algorithms (Standard, Bone, Dual volume, and Stent Follow up) were applied to the image of the aneurysm in cerebral angiography to reconstruct the image in 3D, and quantitatively evaluate Noise, SNR, and CNR based on the reconstructed image to find out the optimal algorithm. As an analysis method, Image J program, which can analyze images and calculate area and pixel values, was used for images reconstructed with four algorithms. In order to obtain Noise, SNR, and CNR, the region of interest (ROI) is measured by designating the point where the abnormal artery (aneurysm) is located and the surrounding normal artery in the image are measured, and the mean value and SD value are obtained. Background noise was set to two surrounding normal artery to increase reliability. The values of SNR and CNR were calculated based on the given formula. As a result, the noise was the lowest in the stent follow-up algorithm, and the SNR and CNR were the highest. Therefore, the stent follow-up algorithm is judged to be the most appropriate algorithm. The data of this study are expected to be useful as basic data for 3D image evaluation of the vascular and aneurysm in cerebral angiography, and it is believed that appropriate algorithm changes will serve as an opportunity to further improve image quality.
As the contemporary lifestyle has changed and the time to enjoy hobbies is increased, people prefer the DIY furniture that can be used at homes by manufacturing their own unique furnitures. Especially, the architecture of our country handed down traditionally or the setting-up technique used in furnitures are the techniques to maintain firmness even after long time passes by. Accordingly, in order to supply a firm setting-up technique mostly used by craftsman in the manufacture of DIY furniture and to apply this easily, a web site and 3D program system are required. In order to do so, it is important to prepare the system of setting-up that can be followed easily first by classifying the difficulty of setting-up that the general public can follow easily without having difficulties among the types of setting-up. Therefore, this study has performed a systematic arrangement by the order of difficulty for the types of setting-up that are investigated and arranged to set the purpose as presenting materials that are helpful so the furnitures using setting-up can be manufactured even in the manufacture of general DIY furnitures. Accordingly, the investigated results of setting-up difficulty are applied in the order of difficulty to a 3D program and as users select the suitable setting-up for their own standard, it is expected to be utilized in DIY furnitures that are manufactured directly.
Based on the conceptual framework of Double ABCX model of family stress and adaptation this study developed the enrichment program for the relationship of young daughters-in-law with their mothers-in-law. Results of empirical research concerning the relationship between them also provided for the basis of designing this program. Consisting of 6 sessions this education program was delivered to 20 young daughters-in-law in a rural area of Kyunggi-do province. The effectiveness of the program was evaluated through one-group posttest design and follow-up interview. Overall most participants in the program reported that the relationship with their mothers-in-law was enhanced in terms of understanding mothers-in-laws psychology and roles of improving communication and problem-solving skills self-control and of blaming.
A group theraplay program for improving social competence of children in group homes was composed of 24 sessions. The researcher and a therapist accessed 5 children living in a group home and conducted one session each week for 6 months from May to September. Before the application of the program, a pre-test was conducted using evaluation measures of attachment stability, social competence, and children's behavioral problems. A post-test was performed after the end of the program and a follow-up test was carried out to determine the long term effects of the program. Results showed that the group theraplay program improved attachment stability and social competence of children in group homes and was effective in changing problem behaviors.
The purpose of this research was to develop the education program for post-divorce adjustment and to evaluate effectiveness of the program. This program was consisted of eight sessions and applied to divorced parents. It was focused for the understanding of grief processes for adults, recovery by forgiveness, children's responses and coping strategies to divorce, open minded relationship between parents and children, and enhancement of self-esteem to be healthy single parent. Results of paired t-test showed that there were significant differences between pre-test and post-test, and the effectiveness remained until follow-up. In conclusion, this program was thought to be effective for improving self-esteem, divorce coping competency and minimizing of the depressions. Continual education is thought to be necessary for maintaining of the effectiveness to the divorced parents.
Objectives: Smoking, especially among youth, has been increasing in Korea. This study was performed to evaluate the effects of a newly developing well-designed packaged smoking prevention program (PSPP) for middle school students and to propose further ideas about the program. Methods: The subjects were middle school students enrolled in one Busan city middle school. The effects of the PSPP were evaluated through intervention and follow-up. The PSPP was executed for 10 hours during the semester of middle school freshmen by the author as a position of health teacher, from 1999. After PSPP, cognitions and experiences about smoking were assessed annually from February, 2000 to 2002 by questionnaire. The responses of the educated group and the non-educated group (enrolled in the school at 1998) were compared through chi-square test and odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) using SPSS program (ver 10.0). Results: In the three years' follow-up study on the students enrolled in 1999, the proportion of habitual smoking increased significantly (p<0.001); freshmen 0.2%, sophmore 1.7%, junior 5.0%. However, these level were lower than the results of national study; freshmen 1.1 %, sophmorer 6.3%, junior 8.5%. Also, the risk of smoking based on the response of 'smoking is hazardous to my health' increased by higher grading. In the comparison of educated and non-educated group, the proportion of the habitual smoking was significantly lower in the educated group(5.0%) than in the non-educated group(13.5%) (OR [95%CI]=0.33 [0.20∼0.57]). The response rate of 'smoking is hazardous to my health' was higher (OR [95%CI]=4.42 [2.52∼7.77]), and that of 'maybe smoking in the future' was lower (OR [95%CI]=0.43 [0.31∼0.59]) in the educated group than in the non-educated group. Conclusions: Though there is not enough information and it was a relatively short evaluation period, this PSPP is considered to be effective in smoking prevention in middle school students. Interests and continuity would be emphasized for the success of smoking prevention programs for younger subjects.
Purpose: This study examined the effects of an elastic band resistance exercise program on the body functions and Glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) of elderly people with type 2 diabetes. Methods: Twenty-seven elderly patients with type 2 diabetes were enrolled in this study (exercise group 14, control group 13). The subjects in the exercise group participated in the program for 60 minutes a day, three times a week, for 12 weeks. All the subject's body functions, HbA1c were measured to compare the following: before the intervention, at the completion of the 12 weeks intervention, and eight weeks after the intervention. Results: Compared to the control group, the exercise group showed significant improvements in the 12 week and follow-up measurement after the intervention in body function, such as the strength of the upper and lower limbs, agility and limit of stability. The body functions of the exercise group improved as the period of intervention progressed. On the other hand, the HbA1c level at each follow-up measurement was similar in the two groups. Conclusion: The 12 week elastic band exercise program is recommended as an effective intervention for improving the body functions of elderly people with type 2 diabetes. Nevertheless, a combined intervention of steady exercise, diet therapy and drug therapy will be needed for further active prevention and management of type 2 diabetes.

Objectives: The overuse of the Internet among adolescents has increased dramatically in recent years, leading to pathological or problematic Internet use. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is known to be effective for the treatment of problematic Internet use, particularly for adolescents. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of group CBT for problematic Internet use in adolescents. Methods: A total of 17 patients aged 12-17 years who met Young's diagnostic questionnaire criteria of problematic Internet use participated in a school-based eight-session group CBT program. The level of problematic Internet use among participating students was measured using Young's Internet Addiction Scale (IAS). Depression and anxiety levels were evaluated using the Children's Depression Inventory (CDI) and the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI), respectively. Each construct was assessed at baseline, immediately after the intervention, and at a one-month follow-up visit. Statistical significance was based on a p-value of <0.05. Results: Immediately after the program, the IAS, CDI, and State Anxiety Inventory (SAI) scores were significantly lower than before the program. At the one-month follow-up assessment, the IAS scores remained low, and the CDI and SAI scores were even lower than immediately after the program. Conclusion: Group CBT was effective for adolescents with problematic Internet use, and was also demonstrated to improve depression and anxiety.
With the burden of chronic diseases mounting among the population as a result of its aging, the importance of health examination is being stressed in order to identify and manage diseases in the early stage. Health examination in Korea is divided largely into periodic health examination provided as a national health screening program and individual physical checkups. The advantages of the former include little economic burden on the examined and those of the latter include the freedom of the individual to select various examination headings depending on the individual's characteristics and preferences. With both examinations now being expanded, empirical analyses from various standpoints are needed. This study proposes to analyze traits of the examined and non-examined as shown in the facts and figures of the 1st and 2nd Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing (KLoSA), thereby make the determinant factors clear leading to the acceptance of the examinations, and analyze the effects of the examinations upon maintaining or moving to healthy lifestyle. It was confirmed that demographic features such as gender and age, socioeconomic features such as the level of education, place of residence and household income, physical and mental state of health such as chronic disease and dementia, and daily living habits are significantly related with whether to accept physical examination. It is also confirmed that physical examination leads to non-smoking, regular physical exercises and regular dietary habits. It is suggested that, to enhance effects of health examinations, follow-up management programs making use of results of health examinations be further expanded, and the national health screening program be more actively put into operation for the bracket lying in the blind spot of the program.
The Homeshare program, which was introduced in 2012, has been implemented with the purpose of reduction of housing costs for young students and economic support for the senior to prevent isolation and help themselves. Nonetheless, the program has not being activated and the research about it has not progressed well. Therefore, this study as a basic research of the program aims to analyze and evaluate the program in progress in district offices to push it forward. This study was undertaken on documentary research and interviews, which analyzed advanced researches and open materials from the websites of district offices. The interviews were conducted in 4 gu-district offices (Nowon-gu, Gwangjin-gu, Seodaemun-gu, and Seongdong-gu) and did interviews with officials in charge on July in 2015. The result of this study is as follows. First, the Homeshare is being activated around the university town, which has advantage of housing welfare aspects for young students and social welfare aspects for the senior. Second, the support structures of the Homeshare can be categorized as the gu-districts offices, local resources and different structures funded by the Seoul City. Third, the process of the Homeshare takes 5 steps consisted of advertisement, reception/counseling, matching, contract, follow-up management. Fourth, the matching makes it a rule to match the same gender considering safety. In the case of the participation of the official in charge, it has a advantage of solving problems that can occur when the matching, which can lead to smooth progress. Fifth, joint consultation is divided into the contract among participants and the contract between participants and the gu-district office. Sixth, the follow-up management takes rather passive approaches such as calls once or twice a month and visits when necessary. For the activation of the Homeshare, it is required to improve it through the various methods such as regular visits, satisfaction researches and so on. This study resulted from investigating and analyzing the Homeshare operation system between generations will be considered to be a reference to the underlying management.
