전산유체역학을 이용한 Degasser Baffle최적설계 연구 (Study on Design Optimization of Degasser Baffles using CFD)

  • A degasser is a separation unit used in drilling to separate gas from the drilling mud. The degasser used in offshore drilling was developed at an early stage of drilling. Since its development, the design of the degasser’s internal structure has been optimized, with many limitations due to the restrictions of experimental and computational performance measurement methods. Despite the recent development of CFD technology for multiphase flow analysis, CFD has only been used in a limited way for degasser internal flow analysis and design optimization. In this study, a design optimization procedure for a degasser’s internal structure design was proposed, and CFD analyses of three types of internal structural designs were performed to evaluate the separation performance. The CFD result for each design type was used for the design optimization and, as the result, an optimized design is proposed.

  • In modern industry, vacuum has grown into an indispensable industrial field. The performance of the vacuum pump in the degasser system among mud treatment system facilities was verified by a numerical analysis method. The degasser system is an equipment for removing the gas contained in the mud, and it is a work process that requires a vacuum. This study analyzed the vacuum pump performance of the degasser used in drilling for resource development of onshore and offshore plants. The vacuum pump used in the degasser system was designed with a discharge rate of 0.099kg/s. The DM(Design Modeler) program of ansys workbench 17.2 was used to modify the model of the vacuum pump used in the degasser system. And for performance analysis, CFX, which is known to be suitable for rotating system analysis, was used. Finally the performance analysis results of the vacuum pump and the prototype performance test results were compared and analyzed.

  • Thermal effect has great influence on wellbore stability in Dongfang 1-1 (DF 1-1) gas field, a reservoir with high-temperature and high-pressure. In order to analyze the wellbore stability in DF1-1 gas field, the variation of temperature field after drilling was analyzed. In addition, the effect of temperature changing on formation strength and the thermal expansion coefficients of formation were tested. On this basis, a wellbore stability model considering thermal effect was developed and the thermal effect on fracture pressure and collapse pressure was analyzed. One of the main challenges in this gas field is the decreasing temperature of the wellbore will reduce fracture pressure substantially, resulting in the drilling fluid leakage. If the drilling fluid density was reduced, kick or blowout may happen. Therefore, the key of safe drilling in DF1-1 gas field is to predict the fracture pressure accurately.

  • As proven petroleum reserves decline through continued production. exploration for new oil and gas resources will extend into environments which present significant economic risks arid technical hurdles. Since safety is one of the biggest concerns in drilling operations. the oil industry routinely trains its personnel in areas which are critical for safe and economical drilling procedures. One of these major areas is well control. A kick is defined as an unscheduled flow of formation fluids into a wellhole. A kick occurs whenever the resultant wellbore pressure is less than the formation pressure in an exposed zone capable of producing kick fluids. The typical causes of reduced wellbore pressure are insufficient mud weight. inadequate fluid level in the hole, and swabbing.(omitted)

하동 지역에 서식하는 바지락의 미생물총 분포에 관한 정량 및 정성적 분석 (Quantitative and Qualitative Studies of Commensal Bacterial Flora of Clam, Ruditapes philippinarum in Hadong Area)

  • 바지락 조직과 주변 환경에 있는 세균의 특성과 분포를 여러 배지와 온도 그리고 생화학적 동정 kit를 사용하여 비교 분석하였다. 장내, 갯벌, 아가미 그리고 외부체액에 있는 미생물의 집락수는 사용한 BHIA, STA 그리고 SNA 배지에 영향을 받지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 $15^{\circ}C$ 배양조건에서의 증식속도는 $25^{\circ}C$$35^{\circ}C$의 조건에 비해 느린 것으로 나타났으나 총 세균 집락수는 $15^{\circ}C$에서의 것이 가장 높게 나타났다. 영양배지에서 자란 세균집락을 무작위적으로 선택배지에 옮기면 조직 시료를 직접 도말 한 경우에 비해 높은 비율로 집락형성을 하는 것을 보여 주었다. API 20E와 API 20NE를 사용하여 각 장기 또는 외부에 있는 세균의 종류를 동정한 결과 바지락 조직간에는 서로 유사한 종의 분포를 보이나 주위 환경이 되는 갯벌이나 외부체액에 있는 미생물군의 종류와는 다르게 나타났다. 바지락 주위의 갯벌이나 외부체액의 미생물군은 Pseudomonas 가 주종을 이루고 있는 조직내의 미생물군에 비해서 훨씬 높은 다양성을 보여 주었다. 이러한 결과는 바지락 조직이 주위 환경중의 세균에 대한 선택적 친화력이 있음을 의미한다고 할 수 있다.

쿨롱-모어 이론을 이용한 강탄성 반유동체 폭발 시뮬레이션 (Simulation of Explosion of the Semi-Fluid with Strong Elasticity Applying Coulomb-Mohr Theory)

  • 일반적인 입자 기반 유체 폭발 시뮬레이션과는 다르게 탄성을 지닌 유체의 폭발을 시뮬레이션 하는 경우 물질의 사실적인 변형을 표현하기 위한 여러 가지 특수한 방법이 필요하다. 기존 입자 기반의 점탄성체 연구에서는 물체가 힘을 받아 압축이 되었을 때 한계치 이상의 힘을 받으면 변형되는 최대 변형에너지 이론과 물체의 부피가 일정 수준 이상 줄어들었을 때 변형되는 최대 전단응력 이론을 이용하여 진흙이나 페인트 같이 소성변형을 하는 물체의 변형을 다루었지만 실리콘이나 탄성이 강한 고무줄과 같이 한계치 이상의 힘을 받았을 때 여러 부분으로 쪼개지는 취성변형을 표현하지는 못하였다. 본 논문은 물체가 받은 힘을 변형된 길이나 부피로 표현한 기존의 입자 기반 시뮬레이션과 달리, 힘을 받았을 때 물체에 발생하는 최대응력이 물체의 파단응력에 도달하였을 때 항복이 일어난다는 취성 변형에 적합한 쿨롱-모어 이론을 제안한다. 쿨롱-모어 이론을 적용한 강한 탄성을 가진 반유동체가 힘을 받은 경계면이 파단응력에 도달하였을 때 물체가 현실감 있게 파괴되는 과정을 표현할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 반유동체가 지면에 부딪혀 힘을 받았을 때 쿨롱-모어 이론을 적용하여 물체의 파괴를 표현하였다.

  • 본 논문은 안쪽축이 회전하는 동심환형관 물과 비뉴튼유체의 고-액 2상 유동연구를 수행하였다. 점탄성유체의 유변학은 굴착구멍의 청결, 입자의 밖으로 수송하는 등 여러 가지 응용에 중요하다. 연구에서 투명한 아크릴관은 고체입자의 이동을 관찰하기 위하여 사용하였다. 환형관 속도는 0.3m/s에서 2.0m/s로 변한다. 머드시스템은 물과 CMC 수용액을 혼합하여 사용하였다. 연구에서 고려된 주요 변수들은 축회전속도, 유체 유동영역과 입자 주입율이다. 입자이송속도와 압력강하는 유체유량(Q, LPM)이 5~30의 범위에서 측정하였다. 물과 0.2% CMC 수용액에서 고체입자의 농도가 높을수록 압력손실이 커짐을 알 수 있었다.

지열 발전정 시멘팅을 위한 G-class 시멘트 특성 평가에 관한 연구 (Evaluation of Characteristics of G-class Cement for Geothermal Well Cementing)

  • G-class 시멘트는 지열발전소 가동 시에 지열정에서 고온의 지열수나 증기를 심부에서 지표면까지 이동시키는 케이싱을 보호하는 시멘팅 재료로서 이용된다. 지열정을 통한 원활한 지열발전을 위해서는 시멘팅 재료의 물리적 특성들이 만족되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 G-class 시멘트를 지열정 시멘팅 재료로서의 중요한 물리적 특성인 유동성, 일축압축강도, 열전도도, free fluid 함유율(Free fluid content) 등을 평가하기 위해, 다양한 물/시멘트 비 조건에서 실내실험을 수행하였다. G-class 시멘트에 대한 물리적 특성 평가를 통해 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다. (1) G-class 시멘트의 유동성은 소량의 응고지연제(retarder)를 첨가하여 증가 시킬 수 있다. (2) 유동성 확보를 위해 물/시멘트 비를 높일 경우, 일축압축강도가 감소하여 지열정의 구조적 문제를 야기할 수 있다. (3) G-class 시멘트의 열전도도는 지열정 가동 시에 지열정에서 외부 지반으로의 열손실이 거의 없을 정도로 낮게 평가되었다. (4) G-class 시멘트를 시멘팅 재료로 이용할 경우, 블리딩(bleeding) 가능성은 매우 낮은 것으로 판단된다. (5) 페놀프탈레인 지시약은 지열정 시공시 지표면에서 시추용 이수와 G-class 시멘트를 구분하기 위해 적합할 것으로 판단된다.

Purification and Characterization of a Novel Alkaline Protease from Bacillus horikoshii

  • An investigation was conducted on the enhancement of production and purification of an oxidant and SDS-stable alkaline protease (BHAP) secreted by an alkalophilic Bacillus horikoshii, which was screened from the body fluid of a unique Korean polychaeta (Periserrula leucophryna) living in the tidal mud flats of Kwangwha Island in the Korean West Sea. A prominent effect on BHAP production was obtained by adding 2% maltose, 1% sodium citrate, 0.8% NaCl, and 0.6% sodium carbonate to the culturing medium. The optimal medium for BHAP production contained (g/l) SBM, 15; casein, 10; $K_2HPO_4$, 2; $KH_2PO_4$, 2; maltose, 20; sodium citrate, 10; $MgSO_4$, 0.06; NaCl, 8; and $Na_2CO_3$, 6. A protease yield of approximately 56,000 U/ml was achieved using the optimized medium, which is an increase of approximately 5.5-fold compared with the previous optimization (10,050 U/ml). The BHAP was homogenously purified 34-fold with an overall recovery of 34% and a specific activity of 223,090 U/mg protein using adsorption with Diaion HPA75, hydrophobic interaction chromatography (HIC) on Phenyl-Sepharose, and ion-exchange chromatography on a DEAE- and CM-Sepharose column. The purified BHAP was determined a homogeneous by SDS-PAGE, with an apparent molecular mass of 28 kDa, and it showed extreme stability towards organic solvents, SDS, and oxidizing agents. The $K_m$ and $k_{cat}$ values were 78.7 ${\mu}M$ and $217.4s^{-1}$ for N-succinyl-Ala-Ala-Pro-Phe-pNA at $37^{\circ}C$ and pH 9, respectively. The inhibition profile exhibited by PMSF suggested that the protease from B. horikoshii belongs to the family of serine proteases. The BHAP, which showed high stability against SDS and $H_2O_2$, has significance for industrial application, such as additives in detergent and feed industries.

Origin of limestone conglomerates in the Choson Supergroup(Cambro-Ordovician), mid-east Korea

  • The Chosen Supergroup (Cambro-Ordovician), mid-east Korea consists mainly of shallow marine carbonates and contains a variety of limestone conglomerates. These conglomerates largely comprise oligomictic, rounded lime-mudstone clasts of various size and shape (equant, oval, discoidal, tabular, and irregular) and dolomitic shale matrices. Most clasts are characterized by jigsaw-fit (mosaic), disorganized, or edgewise fabric and autoclastic lithology. Each conglomerate layer is commonly interbedded with limestone-dolomitic shale couplets and occasionally underlain by fractured limestone layer, capped by calcareous shale. According to composition, characteristic sedimentary structures, and fabric, limestone conglomerates in the Hwajol, Tumugol, Makkol, and Mungok formations of Chosen Supergroup can be classified into 4 types: (1) disorganized polymictic conglomerate (Cd), (2) horizontally stratified polymictic conglomerate (Cs), (3) mosaic conglomerate (Cm), and (4) disorganized/edgewise oligomictic conglomerate (Cd/e). These conglomerates are either depositional (Cd and Cs) or diagenetic (Cm and Cd/e) in origin. Depositional conglomerates are interpreted as storm deposits, tidal channel fills, or transgressive lag deposits. On the other hand, diagenetic conglomerates are not deposited by normal sedimentary processes, but formed by post-depositional diagenetic processes. Diagenetic conglomerates in the Chosen Supergroup are characterized by autoclastic and oligomictic lithology of lime-mudstone clasts, jigsaw-fit (mosaic) fabric, edgewise fabric, and a gradual transition from the underlying bed (Table 1). Autoclastic and oligomictic lithologies may be indicative of subsurface brecciation (fragmentation). Consolidation of lime-mudstone clasts pre-requisite for brecciation may result from dissolution and reprecipitation of CaCO3 by degradation of organic matter during burial. Jigsaw-fit fabric has been considered as evidence for in situ fragmentation. The edgewise fabric is most likely formed by expulsion of pore fluid during compaction. The lower boundary of intraformational conglomerates of depositional origin is commonly sharp and erosional. In contrast, diagenetic conglomerate layers mostly show a gradual transition from the underlying unit, which is indicative of progressive fragmentation upward (Fig. 1). The underlying fractured limestone layer also shows evidence for in situ fragmentation such as jigsaw-fit fabric and the same lithology as the overlying conglomerate layer (Fig, 1). Evidence from the conglomerate beds in the Chosen Supergroup suggests that diagenetic conglomerates are formed by in situ subsurface fragmentation of limestone layers and rounding of the fragments. In situ subsurface fragmentation may be primarily due to compaction, dewatering (upward-moving pore fluids), and dissolution, accompanying volume reduction. This process commonly occurs under the conditions of (1) alternating layers of carbonate-rich and carbonate-poor sediments and (B) early differential cementation of carbonate-rich layers. Differential cementation commonly takes place between alternating beds of carbonate-rich and clay-rich layers, because high carbonate content promotes cementation, whereas clay inhibits cementation. After deposition of alternating beds and differential cementation, with progressive burial, upward-moving pore fluid may raise pore-pressure in the upper part of limestone layers, due to commonly overlying impermeable shale layers (or beds). The high pore-pressure may reinforce propagation of fragmentation and cause upward-expulsion of pore fluid which probably produces edgewise fabric of tabular clasts. The fluidized flow then extends laterally, causing reorientation and further rounding of clasts. This process is analogous to that of autobrecciation, which can be analogously termed autoconglomeration. This is a fragmentation and rounding process whereby earlier semiconsolidated portions of limestone are incorporated into still fluid portions. The rounding may be due mainly to immiscibility and surface tension of lime-mud. The progressive rounding of the fragmented clasts probably results from grain attrition by fluidized flow. A synthetic study of limestone conglomerate beds in the Chosen Supergroup suggests that very small percent of the conglomerate layers are of depositional origin, whereas the rest, more than $80\%$, are of diagenetic origin. The common occurrence of diagenetic conglomerates warrants further study on limestone conglomerates elsewhere in the world.
