The Effect of a Programming WBI Based on the Flow Theory on Flow Level and Academic Achievement (몰입이론을 적용한 프로그래밍 WBI가 학습자의 몰입수준과 학업성취도에 미치는 영향)

  • Computer programming language learning has an educational effect on improving the high level abilities such as a logical thinking ability and a problem solving ability as well as on understanding a computer working process through the process of programming and debugging tasks. In this study, the Flow Theory is applied for the students to have inner learning motive and continue their learning in the programming language learning. For this, we developed teaching-learning strategies applied by Flow elements, and designed to the WBI. We also applied to the actual teaching-learning field designed WBI and verified the effects on the changes in the learner's Flow level and academic achievement. The result of verification, WBI learning applied by Flow Theory is effective on improving Flow level, making the students have the learning goal and spirit of challenging, forming feedbacks. Also Flow experiences have effect on improving academic achievement(programming ability) through the positive effects on the results of the learning.

  • Gas pressure regulators in pressure regulating station reduce high-pressure gas in a process line to a lower. Gas pressure regulators are not flow control devices, they are used to control delivery pressure only. For the safety of pressure regulating station, it is essential to study flow regime and characteristics of a safety valves that is connected to a pressure regulator. For this, it is necessary to understand flow characteristics and the flow rate of upstream component part such as gas pressure regulators in regulating station. In the present study, numerical analysis of flow characteristics and the mass flow rate of a pressure regulator is conducted under the several inlet, outlet conditions and open rates. Then, the numerical result of the mass flow rate is verified with experimental equation from manufacture of pressure regulator. Consequently, the numerical result is comparatively good agreement with values from experimental equation.

  • Recently developed FDS5 CFD code has employed a near-wall flow treatment method which is Werner-Wengle wall law provided by NIST(National Institute of Standards and Technology). In this study, the wall law has been verified against DNS(Direct Numerical Simulation) data in the parallel plate. The $y^+$ was kept above 11 to fulfill the near-wall flow requirement in the grid generation. The total grid was $32{\times}32{\times}32$. The boundary condition for inlet and outlet was periodic condition and for both side, symmetric condition was used. The fully developed turbulent flow was generated and Re = 10,700. The simulated results were compared with DNS data. RANS results were also used for verification.

  • In estuarine 3-dimensional numerical modeling. it is very important to calculate vertical eddy viscosity accurately. Various turbulence models employing eddy viscosity concept were applied to the steady flow in an open-channel and the tidal flow in long tidal channel and compared. The evaluations include the verification tests against experimental data sets for steady and tidal flows. The simulation results have shown that the compared models are in good agreements with experimental data of steady flow while only $textsc{k}$-$\varepsilon$ model, $textsc{k}$-ι model, and 1-equation model with well-defined mixing length profile give good agreements with experimental data of tidal flow.

  • In this studs, hydraulic routing model has been developed to predict the water level and discharge in each river section with considering the full interaction between surface runoff and river flow. It improved the computation of flood runoff by reflecting the shape of hydrograph that was determined by the geological and flood characteristics, and the excessive computation of the peak discharge was eliminated by considering the effect of infiltration. The Inflow from surface runoff to river flow was applied to the equation of continuity by implementing effectively the flow in a number of river section, and resulted in a numerical stability at the rapid variation of rainfall. Measurements were conducted during heavy rain in the watershed area of Yang-Yang Namdae-Chun. The present model was tested to the field, and the computed results were compared to the observed data. Its applicability was confirmed with its verification.

  • A coaxial swirl/shear injector using GCH4/LOx as propellants was degisned and manufactured. Flow analysis by Fluent was performed to decide the number of orifice and the rear shapes of inlet orifice etc. Flow rate of the injector was measured according to differential pressure and uniformity of injector's spray pattern was confirmed by a patternator. The results showed that the difference of flow rate was around 10% and the spray angle of oxidizer was $66^{\circ}$.

A Study on the Shell Wall Thinning by Flow Acceleration Corrosion and Mitigation Plan and Design Modification of a Feedwater Heater Impingement Baffle (유동가속부식으로 인한 급수가열기 동체 감육현상 규명과 완화 방안 및 충격판 설계개선에 관한 연구)

  • Feedwater heaters of many nuclear power plants have recently experienced severe wall thinning damage, which will increase as operating time progresses. Several nuclear power plants in Korea have experienced wall thinning damage in the area around the impingement baffle inside feedwater heater installed downstream of the turbine extraction stream line. At that point, the extract steam from the turbine is two phase fluid at high temperature, high pressure, and high speed. Since it flows to reverse direction after impinging the impingement baffle, the shell wall of feedwater heaters may be affected by flow-accelerated corrosion. In this paper, to compare degree of shell wall thinning mitigation rate to squared type with mitigation rate of other type baffle plate, four different types of impingement baffle plate-squared, curved, mitigating type and multi-hole type-applied inside the shell. With these comparison data, this paper describes operation of experiments and numerical analysis which is composed similar condition with real feed water heater. And flow visualization is operated for verification of experiments and numerical analysis. In conclusion, this study shows that mitigating type and multi-hole type baffle plate are more effective than other baffle plate about prevention of pressure concentration and pressure value decrease.

  • A sirocco fan is widely used for discharging pollutants of a kitchen space since it is able to generate a relatively high air flow rate considering its small size and makes less noise than a axial fan or a centrifugal fan. However, it has a problem because its efficiency is low, and power consumption is larger. Performance of a sirocco fan is influenced by various factors such as number of the fan blades, diameter of the fan, geometry of the fan, geometry of its housing, revolution frequency, static pressure condition, and etc. This research investigated the effect on the performance of geometry of the housing. For CFD analysis, we used a commercial code, SC/Tetra, and used a sliding mesh method to give the same condition as an actual state. Verification of the CFD results is done by comparison of experimental data and numerical one about the suction flow rate, and it is confirmed that two results are well consistent. After we changed the shape of housing according to Archimedes' screw, we observed that suction efficiency is improved by 10.7% maximum.

  • This paper is to investigate on the effects of the hole size of spring type EFV(excessive flow valve) for automobiles The analytical and experimental methods were employed to measure the discharge coefficient. choked flowrate and Pressure wave in a bombe, line and vaporizor The size of EFV was determined to meet the legally permitted limits with the capacity of engine displacement up to 2000cc, according to the obtained discharge coefficient. The Purpose of this paper is 1) to find causes of bad acceration performance in LPG engines 2) to find optimal design determination of spring coefficient and orifice hole size of excessive flow valve in LPG engine 3) to find pressure wave of bombe, line and vaporizer through expeimental verification. Experimental results indicated that increase of orifice size 0.5mm to 1mm be caused to increase discharge coefficient, and choked flow rate and decrease operation range of difference pressure wave.
